After some time later, Roxie rode her straight to Ginny's house, hoping that she was there. She places the bike to the side of the fence as she runs up to the front door. Roxie gave the door a knock.
It took a bit of a wait, but Ginny finally answered the door. The girl with braids opens the door, seeing Roxie standing there, still in the lab coat that she was wearing. Ginny stood there, placing her hands on her hips, glaring at her.
By the looks of the glare itself, it seems to be a mix of sadness, anger, and a bit of confusion. After a couple seconds of being silent, Ginny finally said something. She points at Roxie's lab coat, finally saying something.
"Why are you wearing a lab coat?" Ginny asked, voice sounding a little more softer than being as loud.
"This is what I wear when I help out around the SPA Agency Building." Roxie said, pointing at herself. "I work at more than just the Ice Cream Parlor, you know..." She stopped explaining about the lab coat, before getting back to the main reason why she was here. "...But...forget about that, I need to tell you something very important right now. You really have to hear it..."
"If it's about the double date thing, forget it." Ginny said. "Pablo told me everything already, and I really just want to be alone right now..."
"No...I just..." Roxie steps forward, holding up her hands. "...I came here to apologize to you, and tell you something that...you seriously need to hear."
"Like, how serious?"
"Damn it, Ginny, it's serious, alright?!"
"Sorry. Just tell me what it is."
"Alright..." Roxie took a deep breath, before finally continuing with what she was about to tell Ginny. With a serious look on her face, she continued to talk. "So...Eleanor came to me, and told me about the double date, and what happened between you and Pablo. I confronted Pablo on the phone about this, and said he needed to apologize to you. Soon after work, I would've done the same thing, come here, apologize to you." Ginny was still confused by what was going on.
"Well, alright...if he really wants to talk it out, then alright...why didn't he show up?" Roxie held her hands together, placing them to her mouth.
"I don't know how to tell you this, Ginny...but..." Roxie paused for a second. She finally told Ginny what had happened. "...Pablo was struck by an oncoming car on his way to apologize to you. I'm sorry..."
Ginny's heart sank after hearing that being said. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her best friend, her friend all the way back when they were kids...is now in the hospital after being ran over by a car. This felt even worse than hearing Pablo having a crush on her and keeping it to himself for an extremely long time.
Ginny almost could breath after hearing that being said to her. She was right now feeling everything in the world falling apart right before her very eyes. She didn't want to believe anything that Roxie had just told her, wanting to assume this is all a joke. But then again, this is Roxie who's telling her, somebody that Ginny knows doesn't really like jokes at all, there's no way that THIS is a joke.
Tears began to fill in the eyes of the tomboy with braids. "Roxie...is he dead?" Ginny asked. "Tell me that he survived..." Roxie sighed.
"If it makes you feel any better, he is still alive." Roxie said, making Ginny feel a little better. However, she doesn't seem to be okay with the next part being said to her. "Sadly, he's knocked out, and injured pretty badly. The doctors don't know if he's going to wake up or not...if he stays this way for who knows how long..." Roxie was started to tear up at the thought of Pablo dying. "...Then he will be confirmed dead..."
Hearing this almost made Ginny broke down into tears. She stood there, nearly frozen at the fact that she could be hearing that Pablo was going to die. She didn't even get a chance to say goodbye, let alone forgive him, or even talked to him about the secret he kept from her.
Tears filled the tomboy's eyes, as she finally moved from her spot, because without warning, Ginny ran straight to the hospital. She ran right through gate of her yard, just running her way to the hospital, not wanting to stop for a single break. She wanted to see him again, to make sure that he was alive.
Roxie could only stand there, as she was feeling terrible that this was really happening right now. She was still angry at Pablo for his actions, but to her, he didn't deserve this. She sat down in one of Ginny's lawn chairs, holding onto her forehead, as tears continued to flood her eyes.
'I...I just told him to do the right thing...' Roxie said in her thoughts, tears streaming down her face. 'I can't believe that it led to something like this...'
At Katie's house...
"Annie's in jail?!" Chaz asked, shocked to hear this being said.
"Yes..." Katie said.
Katie was told to go home, since she was no longer a problem to the SPA Agents at this point. Annie on the other hand remained staying at the SPA Agency Building. Vance also stayed at the Agency building as well.
The moment she got home, she told her father and Chaz about what had happened, feeling the need to tell them, so that they were not out of the loop on what's going on. She could just lie to them, tell them everything is alright, or just keep this to herself, but since she feels responsible for this, alongside Annie, she felt the need to tell them. They had the right to know about this as well.
"...To think that the only person who would be going something so insane is Crystal..." Chaz mutters. "...So now what?! Is Pablo dead?! Is Annie now dead to us too?!" Katie shook her head at that question.
"Well, unlike Crystal, Annie didn't mean to cause something like this to happen." Katie said in her friend's defense. "Annie was looking at me when Pablo was crossing the road on his bike. Where to? I don't know...he was going too fast for me to piece together where he was even going." Katie sighed. "I just hope that Vance can vouch for her on this one."
"If not? Also, if Pablo dies?!"
"Then...I don't know..." Katie looks down, before sighing. "But...I know one thing...and...all I can say is that...it's probably one of the worse parts about what had happened to Pablo..."
"What is it, dear?" Katie's father asked his daughter.
"Ginny is friends with Pablo. Best friends even."
The tomboy was even more worried by this little fact alone. If Ginny heard about what had happened, then figures out that Annie and Katie were in the car when Pablo was ran over, she knows for a fact that she was going to be in more trouble. What Ginny would do if she figured this out, Katie has no idea what will happen. All she knows is that she's beginning to slowly be friends with her, then this had to happen.
"I just...can't believe that this is really happening right now..." Katie mutters. "If only I just walked home..." Chaz reaches over to his girlfriend, patting her on the back.
"Katie, come on, dude...don't be like that..." Chaz said. "If this really is an honest mistake, then you and Annie are off the hook in my book..."
"But Annie's not off the hook with the SPA Agency, or whatever Ginny is going to do when she sees her, or hears about this." Katie leans back onto the chair, holding her forehead as she was looking up at the ceiling. "Just...everything about this situation is just...bullshit..."
"Well, you and Annie can't just give up on this, right?"
"Why the hell shouldn't I at this point?" Katie stood up from her chair. "Annie told me herself, if things are going to be god damn awful, prepare for things to get even worse...because they always do..."
After Katie said that, she was hearing her phone ringing in the living room. She looked towards that direction, wondering who was calling her right now. Knowing the situation she was in, it was most likely either two people, Vance or Ginny. She could only hope and wonder who it is.
Walking over to the phone on the couch, Katie picks up her phone off of the couch, taking a look to see who it was. Much to her surprise, it was Crystal. The dentist looks over to her boyfriend and father as they were walking into the living room, wondering who it was as well. Katie held up a hand, just shaking her head.
"Don't worry guys, it's Crystal..." Katie said. "...I know I shouldn't be giving her my attention, but...I feel like at this point, I need to just end things with her..."
"Probably the best option for you, Kate." Chaz said.
"Thank you..."
Katie answers the call, as Chaz and her father both went back into the kitchen so that she can be alone to talk to her best friend. Or in this case, her former best friend. Katie sat down onto her couch, placing the phone to her ear as Crystal spoke.
"Dude, I heard about the wedding being stopped. What happened?!" Crystal asked.
"Like you should be asking that, Crystal." Katie said, sounding extremely irritated. "She's in the hospital because of her stress levels, and she won't be able to leave until her pregnancy is over."
"W-What?!"
"I hope you're happy trying to irritate Violet into try to get her to forgive you! Now, because of you, Pinky's stress got worse, and now she's in the hospital!" Katie stood up from the couch. "I don't know why you can't just accept the fact that Violet hates your sorry ass now and move on from that!"
"Katie, I'm sorry that Pinky's in the hospital, but don't blame this whole situation on me..."
"Oh...I shouldn't?!" Katie walks over to the window, glaring out it. "Funny, how Violet was willing to move on from this, yet you didn't. You continued to provoke her, and who knows what other goths who didn't forgive you for your actions..."
"Katie, I am sorry for those things that I've done...I was trying to fix the relationships that I've destroyed..." The dentist just rolled her eyes, not wanting to hear that stuff being said. "...I just wanted to be a better person."
"Guess what? I don't care at this point, because now...out of the blue, Annie's in jail..."
"What?!"
"Yeah...hope you know it just keeps getting worse and worse, because it always does..." Katie mutters, before explaining that part to the rebel girl. "Yeah, so I visited Pinky at the hospital earlier today, and I got Annie to pick me up...and as we were talking, she ran over Pablo...Ginny's best friend. Do you know how she is going to feel when she discovers her best friend in the hospital?!"
"Oh, go to hell, dude...you're putting THAT on me?! I admit, I did some terrible stuff this year, but that one is bullshit!"
"Actions have consequences, that's why." The tomboy went back over to the couch, sitting down on it.
"You're acting like I want this to happen, Kate! I'm try to be a better person now, and you're coming at me with this crap!"
"Because you caused this crap to happen in the first place!" Katie sat down on the couch, as Crystal spoke up.
"Well, what do you want me to do now?!"
"Just..."
Katie paused for a moment, rubbing a hand through her hair. Her favorite baseball cap nearly falling off of her head as she did such. Sitting back up, Katie straightens the cap on her head, before finally deciding to tell Crystal something that was going to probably be for the best. It'll hurt Crystal to hear, but to her, it was seriously for the best this time.
"...At this point, just stay the hell out of my life..." Katie said.
"T-This is a joke, right?" Crystal asked, sounding nearly devastated hearing this.
"I'm sorry...but I'm doing this because I need to at this point, Crystal. Just leave me the hell alone at this point, with all that has happened this year for this group, maybe it's better that I just stopped being friends with you."
"But Katie...the moment we became friends again, you didn't give up on me when I was trying to be a better person, and..."
"Clearly, that was a fucking mistake..."
"Katie, please...I don't want to end this friendship with you."
"Goodbye, Crystal."
Crystal continued to beg for Katie to try to be reasonable, but Katie just ends the call from there. She places her phone down onto the coffee table in front of her, before leaning on her knees. She looks down to the floor.
It seems like she's just good at losing friends at this point. Pinky most likely doesn't want anything to do with her after she snapped at the hospital this morning, Annie is most likely going to jail, and now she cut ties with Crystal. To her, it feels like it's only a matter of time until she loses Chaz and Tim to some kind of stressful situation.
Speaking of Chaz, he walks into the living room, wondering if Katie was okay. "Kate...how'd it go, babe?" Chaz asked her. Katie was beginning to have tears in her eyes as she was sitting there.
"What do you expect?" Katie asked. "I stopped being friends with Crystal now..."
"Damn...how'd she take it?"
"I took it well...I don't think she's really taking it all so well..." Chaz went over to the couch, sitting next to his girlfriend. "...Hey, dude...do you want to stay the night? I don't want to imagine losing another friend of mine tonight." Chaz just sat there, hearing this being said to him. He hugs her, before telling her some words that he hopes will make her feel better about the entire situation she was in.
"Chill out there, dude. You'll never lose me."
Katie sat there, silently, tears streaming down her face. She felt a little bit better after hearing that being said to her by her boyfriend, knowing that she probably won't be losing him anytime soon. She expresses a soft smile, before hugging her boyfriend back.
"Thank you, Chaz...I love you." Katie said.
"I love you too, Katie." Chaz said back.
