"Sister! Are you present?" You call flying into the open window of the O'Neil apartment, for April.
There was no response and no one home. Not even Kirby, who you thought would be. Closing the window slightly behind you hoped and prayed no one saw you. It was a good thing it was nearing the end of the evening shading the sky with hues of dark cool dark blues and purples. Landing gently in the living room take a moment to look around. Everything was still the same since you were last here. Television up against the wall in the living that doubled as the family room. You chuckled a bit remembering sitting in front of it trying to decide what movie to choose that Mikey suggested. There were still pictures of you up, you stopped before one hanging up, on the wall. It had you, April, and Kirby, it was taken at the park. You remembered this one, it was just about two months after you opened your eyes; welcomed life. You couldn't help but smile fondly, it was the first time you went to a park and it was marvelous. Everything was new, fresh, and beholding. The smallest thing (a bit now) amazed you beyond anything. The sweet smell (even with city pollution) fresh crisp air; a sky so blue you often confused it as the ocean. Oh, how you enjoyed flying over the waters of the city. Secretly at first, you'd do it when you learned how to fly. To practice of course and to just...explore.
Moving along find the photo of your first day of attending school, you were beaming. Smiling from ear to ear, dressed in a dark knifed skirt, shoes, and white blouse. April helped to style your hair that day, you kept it down with a small flower in it. You were so young..well new. Each picture you came across filled you with tender warmth, if you could cry you would have. Smiling quietly walk through the musume of memories, you nearly forgot why you were here. Walking down the hall, call for Kirby and April. Opening and peeking into their rooms find them empty. Curious you make your way over to your...old room. A hand hovered over the knob, your heart raced...was it still as it was? Did...did Kirby change it? You saw movies like that when someone moves out the parent would turn their room into a gym or an office or...something!
A hand gripped your heart, your chin lowered to your chest. When was the last time you were over here? Ever since you moved out(realistically) you haven't really been by much. So focused on understanding your powers...your abilities...yourself. You left behind your beginning. Never had you though what Kirby might be feeling, April told you through communication that he was doing alright and he loved you. Which was course was comforting but...that didn't ease the clenching of your heart. You just...up and left. Without, really a single word. Did you have the right to be here? Slowly withdrawing your hand, step back. The halls...where ghostly-quiet, minus the distant street noise from outside; you stood before the door. Shutting your eyes, see every moment you had with Kirby since...day one. When he brought you home; helped you learn to walk better; tucked you in; read to you...everything.
If he changed out your room...then that was okay, you wouldn't be upset, even as cracks spread across your heart. No more, no more dwelling on this, you do it. Lifting your head, firmly and steadily set your eyes on the rectangle; raise your hand back; twist the nob, crack it open. A whiff of floral and old books fill your nose, you couldn't help but smile a little. Opening the door fully, gasp at what you saw inside, you emitted a warm bright glows.
It was the same.
Nothing changed. Your room was still here. Your bed up against the wall under the built-in bookshelf. The desk across from it on the other wall. There was the smaller bookshelf nuzzled between the window and desk. Walking it, it was still cozy as you remembered. Your closet was still here, albeit small, but good. Opening it see your clothes. You wondered if you could still wear them, reaching in, take out a pair of jeans. Holding them up to your waist, they were a tad smaller. Lengthwise. Putting it back, take out a green and purple dotted shirt. It would show your stomach a little.
"My favorite shirt," you softly mutter, glance a moment at yourself in the mirror hung on the wall.
Was this what others meant by growing up so fast? You wondered. It was weird, not looking how you use to, but you came to accept it and...liked it. Holding the shirt up before you, the urge to cry overwhelmed you yet...no tears could be produced. Your facial features were a little sharper, at least your chin. Your eyes remained bright and wide but didn't the innocence they once had. Which was okay, they were still warm. You kept the ponytail, raising it higher, it was a bit longer too. And your attire...besides your EPD suit(Bishop thought it was time), changed as well. Bengie leggings, pastel lavender form-fitting long-sleeve crop top, and light two-inch ankle boots. A far cry from your start. You wondered if Kirby would like it, April did.
April! You remembered, quickly putting what you had and straightening the room, dash back to the living and fly away. Shutting the window of course before speeding away.
Scouring the city from aerial view search for April and that strange sensation. But find no trace of her nor did you sense that incoming shift, but you knew it was coming. You just wish you knew where for a moment a part of you wanted to call Donnie. Taking out your standard-issue EDP common ear clip slip it on. With a finger lightly pressed on the button, drop it and decide against it. You were sure Donnie and the others were busy, you could handle this on your own. Taking off didn't notice two familiar rhino and warthog mutants entering a pizza parlor.
No sign of anything, perhaps you were mistaken. Taking a break and a moment, stand on the crown of the statue of liberty, being careful no one saw you. Thank goodness for all of Master Splinter's teachings and lessons. Though there weren't any shadows to conceal you just yet, the sun hadn't fully set just yet, you still were careful. Stealth wasn't much your strongest point, you remembered laughing a bit of the many memories trying to learn it. Splinter with his infinite patience guided you through. Of course, you had April's assistance as well. But, you never really reached their levels during that time, not until...well your time travel adventure did you manage to become better. You still had the dagger and cloak, Casey insisted you keep the whole outfit.
The view was lovely and warm, the skies above now a sorbet of out oranges, reds, and into cool blues and purples. The air seemed richest at this height, a small breeze combed through your hair. You couldn't help but smile tenderly. Taking a seat you watch the sun slowly set, it was hard to believe how much has happened. As the sun sunk lower on the horizon you take it in. Once it was completely gone you blink for a second and instantly feel a sharp sting, snap your opens. There it was again, that displacement feeling, dizzy for a moment, take a moment. Just what was going on? Standing, staggering a bit, manage to shake it off. Though again give yourself a few more minutes before flying off. Reaching the city find a high point above the skyscrapers and buildings, giving you an omnitunes view. Darting your eyes to the left then to the right, like a falcon, stop and inhale. Change them to kirilian eyes. Opening them again, now with a bright ombre glow of gold and silver and white look to your right and see a couple walking the streets. Moving away see a woman returning from work, then to a police car. Each one you saw their aura. Their feelings and much more. None of them was the displacement. Feeling the strain on your eyes, try to push yourself a little more, stop. Bishop told you such an ability was taxing and you felt it. Soreness vibrated from your eyes, blinking a few times give them a small massage. When suddenly you received an incoming call.
Answering it, it was Mikey.
"Yo! May! Girl! Where are you?"
"Mikey? What is it?"
Before he could answer a loud crash was heard. "Mikey!" You shout. "Mikey! What is going on!?"
It took him a minute to answer, "Not cool, dudes! Hey! Give that back!"
You shout again, trying to figure out what was going on. You get ready to shout again, he answered, "May, you gotta get here. Like right now!"
"Mikey what is goin-" The call ended, and cold came over you. "Mikey! Mikey! Mikey?" you shout knowing there'd be no answer, you try calling back twice but no answer. Against your better judgment turn your eyes to kirilian, briefly, pinpoint Mikey, and dive down
Within seconds, leaving a trail of golden light behind you, find an open manhole enter. Sped threw sewers, leaving an updraft in your wake that blew some rats away and parted the stream of water. It shook the tunnels a bit causing a small quake in the streets, not really caring. Only thinking of Mikey and the others push faster, began collecting energy in the palm of your hand ready to deliver the attack on whomever it might be.
"Mikey!" Your voice echos through the lair the moment you burst in, landing hard causing the floor to crack. Lift your burning gaze to the sight before. "Mikey! I am here what...what...what in.."Calming down from utter confusion as to why there were doubles. Not just of Mikey but Leo and the others. "...Why are there two?"
