An Eternal King for the Throne of Heroes
Por Try Another Time
Illya ran through the snow while looking for an opportunity to fire her spells at the four-arm giant that Sella and Leysritt were facing.
"Come on, Illya. Take a deep breath. You have to stay calm." Kiritsugu's daughter thought. She never thought about being wrapped in such a complicated conflict such as this at her young age, but she understood that this was part of her life. Her father warned her that life wouldn't be easy for her. Especially with Eero around.
"Illya-sama keeps your eyes on the battlefield," Sella screamed. The first of the servants used her threads to create a shield and then trap two of the giant's fists which had focused her attention on her for the time being. "Leysritt now!"
"I got you." The second of the servants jumped from her position and with her weapon tried to cut off both arms of the giant. The edge of the halberd made contact with the giant's skin and began to cut deep into the first arm.
Before the attack was completed, the giant screamed in Leysritt's direction. The sonic wave caused by the scream sent the servant away which let to Leysritt piercing one of the buildings in the area.
"Leysritt!" Sella turns her sight for a few seconds at her partner before refocusing her attention on the giant. "You bastard." Sella stretched out many more of her threads before continuing her attacks. Her threads try to cut deeper into the giant's skin, but she wasn't strong enough.
While that happens, Illya changed her direction and used reinforcement magic to reach Leysritt's location. Upon arrival, the young woman entered through the same hole that Leysritt had created. "Leysritt?"
"I'm fine Illya-sama." The servant replied as she stood up. "I received no considerable damage. Yet, I resent that skill. It's a troublesome one to face."
"Sonic waves. We can't forget his strength. I don't know if my spells can hurt him." Illya said. She felt useless after being unable to find an opportunity to use her familiars or any other spells she possessed.
"Stay calm. We know you won't be able to get through the enemy's skin, but we'll find you a chance in which you're able to attack the giant's core. Just stay focus and wait for the right time. Sooner or later our passive ability should prevent the target from moving easily." Leysritt took her halberd and advanced towards the hole.
They both watched as Sella continued to fight their enemy while in the distance in another area of the city, they could notice how a thunderstorm kept getting stronger. Even without being present, they could hear the impacts caused by the attacks of the different battles, especially the one that occurred between Altera and Beatrice.
"I hope the others are okay," Illya said.
"They are. Let us refocus on our own battle." Leysritt jumps onto the battlefield once more. She couldn't leave her sisters by herself.
Illya sighed before jumping shortly after Leysritt.
"You're weak, but you have potential and you're not fighting alone. You can achieve whatever you set your mind to." Her memories regarding Eero helped her at the moment along with her father's advice. Her mana was limited, but if she used it efficiently the goal became more reachable for her.
Meanwhile, Mashu and Sakura.
Sakura and Mashu jumped from tree to tree as they evaded the beam attack from the robotic giant's core. Both knew that receiving a direct attack from the robot would mean death as it was not an attack that would allow them to regenerate. The damage of previous shots around the forest was enough to prove the possible result of being hit by one of the attacks.
"Mashu-san, do you think it has a limit of shots?" Sakura asks while she shoots some arrows at the giant's head, which refocused its attention on Sakura and tried to crush her with its hands. Sakura quickly used that opportunity to jump and run through one of the robot's arms. Sakura continued to fire at the giant's head for several moments before being repelled by a slight force field that covered the robot.
Sakura jumped into another tree before hiding again among nature.
"I don't know, but if I use my spear this battle would be over," Mashu said as she communicated through the pendant in her ear.
"You still can't control it. I heard you talking to Eero about that spear. It's dangerous for you and should only be used in an emergency." Sakura said. The young girl remembered one of the private conversations between Eero and Mashu.
Sakura was walking in front of Eero's room that afternoon when she heard them both talking about Mashu's weapons.
"This is an emergency. We can't waste time on these fights." Mashu says.
"Mashu-san, I don't want you to put your life in danger. If you really want to use that spear let me distract it and find the perfect time for you to use it for a critical strike to the core. We need you if we want to help Eero." Sakura came out of hiding and once again caught the robot's attention.
Mashu kept quiet. "Once again, a little girl is helping us overcome our enemies, Senpai." The memories of a certain young girl with purple hair in Babylonia reappear in her mind once more. "Ana, I hope we'll see each other again." Mashu watched as Sakura continued to attract the attention of their enemy.
Mashu looked at her left hand and focused on the weapon she couldn't control. A weapon that only she possessed but had dangerous effects when used. "Just for one strike." Mashu jumped ready to attack with her two shields following her. "I won't let you do it alone."
They were a team and had to do this together.
Miyu and Abigail.
A large number of missiles continued to be fired while a small young lady controlled the skeletons of creatures from a faraway location. She blocked the missiles that try to hit her with the skeletons before continuing to tear into her enemy's body.
"We'll devour you," Abigail said as she remained in a state Miyu had never seen. Abigail seemed to be being possessed by more than one entity as she spoke.
But Miyu didn't have time to try to understand what was going on with her partner. In front of her, Pandora continued to try to catch her by using some kind of mud that came out of her body.
"Miyu, you don't know how long I waited for you. Now just stop moving." Pandora said.
"I'll never let allow anyone to use me as some kind of object. My brother didn't die in vain. Windblatt!" A strong gust of wind builds up in front of Miyu before being fired at Pandora like some kind of blade.
The wind cut off Pandora's left arm with great ease.
"Arrrgh!" Pandora screams. Her body bled after having lost a limb, but this didn't last long.
In front of Miyu's eyes, Pandora's severed arm became the same mud with which she was attacking her before reuniting with the main body and regenerating her lost limb.
"Angelica was right. You're not human. It doesn't matter how much you try to hide it or how innocent you appear. You're not human." Miyu said. Her mind was telling her to increase the distance between them, so she did it. This was no longer a fight she could win.
Pandora focuses her sight on Miyu. "Miyu-nee-chan How can you say that? I'm human just like you. This is all just a curse. Once the box is opened, I will be free from this curse and at last, I can ... die."
Miyu was unable to hear Pandora's last word. Her mind thought about how they could immobilize or eliminate this thing. It didn't matter what she looked like physically or what she said. Pandora was an enemy as long as she was still trying to help the Ainsworths open the box she was a danger. "Abi if you can hear me, I need your help."
Miyu hoped that Abigail could still hear her voice in that state as she talks to the snake hanging from her ear. Pandora advances towards Miyu. She is ready to use drastic measures to immobilize her target for the sake of her freedom. "That's it, stop moving and it'll all be over."
Before Pandora could touch Miyu, she was crushed by one of the skeletal snakes.
"Miyu I haven't lost my mind," Abigail says as she communicates through the snake in Miyu's ear.
"I've never seen you like that, and your voice isn't the friendliest right now. Nonetheless, I need to get away from Pandora. I don't think I can stop her on my own. She's not human and I don't think my spells can stop her." Miyu admitted.
Before Miyu could say another word, a portal opened under her before transporting her to one of the nearest skeletal heads to Abigail.
"So, she's not human." Without looking at Miyu, Abigail continued her attacks against her target. "What else can you tell me about her?" Several reptilian skeletons bit and looped themselves around the giant before crushing it with great force.
The giant was trying to break free, but the action was impossible for it. To complicate things, the heads of the skeletons accumulated a lot of energy before shooting beam rays against the giant. Miyu could only look in amazement as Abigail practically brutalizes the giant by herself.
Missiles launched by the giant were virtually useless as the skeletons did not appear to take any damage.
Miyu sighed and decided to answer her partner's question. "Dark mud. I don't know if her body is made out of it or if hiding inside her. I cut off her arm and it regenerated again after turning into the mud. I don't understand how she can do it." Miyu explained.
"This is getting more complicated. I can't let her near you. Angelica said she possibly possessed other abilities." But before Abigail could say anything else, the sky turned red. The falling snow was replaced by rain and several electrical discharges fell everywhere.
"Abi, what is all of this?" Miyu asks.
Abigail felt a shiver and within her mind, the other heads of Ouroboros warned her with one word. "Ragnarok. I hope this doesn't make our situation much harder." Abigail watched as the giant began to rise into the sky thanks to an unknown force. Debris from the city also rose to the skies. The gravitational force around the city seemed to have disappeared. "Miyu stay close to me. This is not something we expected." Abigail approached her companion and grabbed her hand before dragging her closer to herself.
Miyu looked around in fear as practically the whole city was floating. "What could have caused all this?"
"I'm not sure, but if this storm and the warning of the other voices in my head are right, I'd say Altera is facing something powerful." Abigail focused her eyes on the direction in which Altera should be fighting Beatrice. "I hope it's only gravity that's being affected."
Back to Sakura and Mashu.
Sakura ran alongside Mashu around the trees using reinforcing magic until out of nowhere gravity disappeared and not only gravity disappeared, but her magic also stopped working. "Hey? My magic? Gravity? Mashu-san!"
"Hold onto one of the shields and don't let go at any time." Mashu used both of her shields to help both of them with this situation. Both girls grabbed onto the shields as gravity disappeared. "Does anyone hear me? What's going on?" Mashu communicated with the others.
"Mashu-san, it's Illya. Is the same thing happening with you?" Illya asks.
"Zero gravity and Sakura cannot use her magic. We haven't eliminated the giant robot yet, but I don't think it's in a better position." Mashu said. She saw how the robot was unable to control its direction and floated aimlessly into the sky.
"Nero and I are in the same situation, although my curses seemed to be working without any problems," Tamamo replied.
"Altera? What's going on in your battle?" Abigail's voice captured everyone's attention. Abigail seemed to have the right idea about what was going on.
Meanwhile, Altera.
"I'm struggling with the culprit of what's going on. All of this seems to be an effect of my last attack. I had eliminated my target, but something happened with Thor's hammer. The hammer is broken." Altera continued her battle with the entity made of electricity.
Altera flew through the sky as she struggled with the embodiment of Beatrice's memories. Every time their attacks collided; Altera received visions that could only be described as Beatrice's memories fragments. Each of them disappearing with every moment this battle continued.
"You and I have similarities. We fight and give everything for the person we love but I'm sorry for you. Your time is up, and you've crossed the point of no return. I hope that in another life you can achieve the happiness you seek." Altera thought before continuing her assault against her enemy.
"Die, die, die!" Beatrice's cries continued as her attacks tried to eliminate Altera.
Blows with the strength of a god clash against Altera's own attacks. Like a reenactment of the past, Thor faces an enemy that forces him to the limits.
But for Beatrice, this was just a battle against time. A doll with few memories couldn't keep this noble ghost activated for long. A noble phantasm that ate away the user's memories was a suicide strategy for anyone and for Beatrice it meant practically death. This was a sad battle against time.
On the battlefield of Nero and Tamamo.
Both were standing upside down in one of the many debris pieces floating in the sky. After several attacks and blows now both sides of the conflict were stagnant. None were able to move in these conditions unless they were ready to pay the price of a non-gravity battlefield.
"Tamamo, don't you think it's time to get this over with?" Nero asks.
"This dance has continued for too long. Protect me for the next few minutes and I'll get this over with." Tamamo had several talismans appear around her just as several Torii gates appeared.
"Whatever you say," Nero said before focusing her attention on their adversaries.
Not far from them, in other debris were the doll and the undead. Both were in the same condition, although unlike Tamamo or Nero they were heavily injured.
The undead looked at his companion and tried to offer his mana to her, but she refused. Even in her madness and anger, this fake Sakura refused to damage him anymore. Mana was already limited for them.
"Protect Senpai. "The doll looked at her companion a few moments before taking the last weapons they still possessed. "Eliminate enemies." With great strength and precision, the doll began to launch the remaining weapons as if they were high-powered projectiles.
Nero looked in amazement as the doll refused to give up. Nero uses her hands to deflect and block every projectile. "Yes," A spear. "Someday." An ax. "If our little Sakura." A long sword. "Becomes as strong and determined as you." Lots of other projectiles. "I am sure she will be a worthy companion of following my Praetor and the others." Nero continued to protect Tamamo.
Behind Nero, she who was once Amaterasu, the deity of the sun was focused on what she was doing. Inside her mind were nine doors which symbolized her nine tails.
Her present self was the first of these tails. A door always opens and controlled by her.
The second door, the one symbolizing the wild beast. A door that was opened and controlled during her time in the lunar cell.
The third door, the one that hid the strange and unusual tail. It took time, but just like the second during her time on the moon, she gained control over it.
The fourth door, the perfect housewife, and the fifth door, the one looking to obtain the most expensive objects were doors that she learned to control over the last two years.
And now she was in front of the sixth, the one who refused to accept a true relationship. A door she didn't want to face just like the seventh, but sooner or later she had to do it. Today was the day she would face a new door because she needed more control over certain parts of her powers.
Tamamo advanced to the door before opening it. It was time to face Tamamo no Hime.
Back with Illya, Sella, and Leysritt.
All three remained together as the current situation was not the most suitable for separating. Thanks to Sella's threads, the three girls were able to stand in one of the ruined buildings without fear of floating uncontrollably just like the giant they had not yet defeated. The giant was not far from them, screaming and trying to attack them, but not being able to fly prevented it from doing so.
"I can't use magic. How is this possible?" Illya asked.
"This is the first time we've faced something like this, but I doubt it's the last time. Leysritt I think we should use our noble phantasm." Sella said.
"I understand. Illya-sama what you'll see is something you haven't seen in all this time. We hope this doesn't scare you too much." Leysritt said.
"Why should I be afraid?" Illya asked.
"You'll understand when you see it." Sella advanced towards Leysritt who left her halberd on the side. They grabbed each other hands and looked at each other in the eye. "Two souls united in the strongest ice. "
"We opened the gates of hell to allow the beast to go out once more." Leysritt continued.
"Dyr Fra Frossent Helvete." They both said. A magic circle appeared beneath them before their bodies broke into thousands of small pieces.
Illya scream in panic and tried to move, but her legs couldn't move. In her right hand her command seals, the command seals that affirmed her connection to them shine.
The pieces were absorbed by the magic circle before a snow tornado formed in the center of it. A tall figure slowly appeared from within.
As the snow settles it became visible. A being as big as Heracles, with six arms, and long white hair. An outfit similar to what Heracles wore, but it looked made of spider webs. Her face appeared to be feminine, but the area of her eyes was covered by a piece of cloth.
The figure took the halberd that Leysritt had left before approaching Illya. The young woman trembled in front of this new presence and didn't know why. Her body refused to move.
"Illya-sama? "The figure asks. Her voice was deep and unknown to Illya.
"Who are you?" Illya asks.
"Illya-sama is us, although it was to be expected. Our passive ability causes fear in all the beings around us unless they are willing to face us or strong enough to ignore the effect. It's a nuisance not to be able to control it at will." The new being explains.
Illya looks at her. She could notice similarities in the face of this being but still too different from her companions. "Are you really them?"
"Yes. It's just that this is what happens when we use our noble phantasm. We didn't want to use it because of the time limit that comes with it. We are not able to keep it active for more than an hour and then we must wait several hours before using it again. "She admitted.
"This was not something I expected." Admits Illya. She had never seen the noble phantasm of Sella and Leysritt as Eero refused to allow them to practice alongside the younger members of the group. Now he understood the reason. "Hey?"
Illya saw as the tall woman lifted her up with one of her arms before setting her down on one of her shoulders.
"Illya-sama, we understand that you are not yet accustomed to this noble phantasm, but we have a time limit and a giant to defeat. So hold on. " 'The Amazon' because nothing else in the mortal dictionary could define such a being without comparing it to certain Hindu gods focused all of its strength on its legs and leaped in the direction of another of the flying rubble. Even if there was no gravity, propelling herself with such force and using the threads of her hands helped the woman to quickly move towards her target.
Illya screamed in fear as she grabbed the hair of her new companion.
"We are already close to our goal. Illya-sama, are you, all right?" The Amazon, even if she had her eyes blindfolded, she could still see through the cloth.
Illya held onto Sella/Leysritt's hair as she tried not to be left behind. "Let's get this over with. I don't think I can take any more of these crazy jumps."
"Understood. "The Amazonian held her weapon tightly before infusing her power into it. "Time to take your life."
The woman extended several of its threads to the giant before completely immobilizing it.
The giant screamed and shook to try to free itself, but its body was quickly frozen by the servants' boosted ability. It was practically a piece of ice waiting to be cut into pieces.
The woman jumped as high as she could and by using her threads which were still tied to the giant, she pulls herself down. The descent was not as fast as they wished, but it was necessary for the next attack. With massive strength, the servant used her weapon and cut the giant into thousands of pieces with various movements.
The first of the targets had been eliminated.
Meanwhile, Mashu.
Mashu again evaded one of the robot's random shots as it tried to control the direction of its attacks. Sakura still clung to the other shield as she could while Mashu moved both with her mana.
"This leaves me no other way out. I must use it." Mashu focused on her left hand for a few seconds before making a decision.
It was time to use her spear, Fallen Star.
