There was nothing better than archery. The feel of a firm bow in your hand, pouring all of your tension into one arrow, watching that arrow glide through the air, transferring all of your tension to the target.

Darling loved archery. Absolutely loved it. Every chance she got, she would sneak off to the archery range. It was her place to unwind and embrace who she truly was.

So she was a little surprised when she saw Sparrow Hood leaning against a target.

"Can I help you?" she asked.

"I'm just vibing" Sparrow said. He strummed a few strings on his guitar.

Darling rolled her eyes and cocked an arrow.

"Since when are you an archer?" Sparrow asked. "Shouldn't you be frolicking through a field of flowers?"

Darling rolled her eyes. "Shouldn't you, the son of Robin Hood, be shooting arrows?"

"Fair point."

He watched her arrows soar and tried to match a beat to it. Darling stopped shooting.

Sparrow frowned. "Why'd you stop shooting?"

"I like your music and want to hear it better" she said.

"Well that music was centered around your shooting" he said. "I'm gonna need you to shoot a few more arrows so I can get it down. After that, I'll play it for you all day if you wish."

Darling smiled. "You've got a deal."

She resumed shooting and he resumed strumming. Darling put her bow and arrows down and sat down next to him.

"You're pretty good at this" Darling admitted.

"I was born with a guitar in my hands" Sparrow said. "My music, like me, is a gift to this world."

Darling rolled her eyes. "It's nice that you're so humble."

Sparrow wrapped an arm around her. "Meet me in my dorm at seven and I'll show you just how humble I can be."

He slung his guitar over his shoulder and strolled off. Darling chuckled and fired a victory arrow.
