Hello everyone,
Last chapter was well received, and I am pleased because it felt right. This is always where I was planning on going with the story. But I needed something that would either break Brawly, or come extremely close to doing it. It seems to me that it is not a popular opinion to do such a thing. But let me tell you, the more I write, the more it becomes apparent that you need to absolutely brutalize the main character. Otherwise, he's just 'special' and does everything because he is who he is, instead of being forged into what he needs to become.
Anyway, let's continue!

"Brody is set to challenge Steven for the title of Champion, later this month. Most know of their close relationship. In fact, it is said that they have trained together at Brody's infamous training ground on many occasions. No folks, we still haven't found the training ground…"
I couldn't help but snort at that. How many times had dad caught a reporter sneaking around near the gym? Too many to count.
"Regardless, this will be the first challenge to any Champions spot in nearly a year and a half. The last Challenge resulted in Leon being crowned champion in Galar. And of course, how could we forget to mention that Brody is the father of the international criminal Brawly. Initially, Brody refused to comment on his son at all. Now he is ready to make a statement."
"Gym Leader Brody, what do you say to those at home wondering if you're doing all of this because of your son?" A reporter asked.
"I would say that they are right. I didn't know about half of what my son went through over there, but I have heard similar stories here at home. How could I be a part of a similar system that put my son through the ringer like that? How could I, as a father? For centuries, we've needed a strong league to protect us from pokemon who rule the wild. It was necessary. Now, though, there are one hundred plus trainers in every league on the same level as champions used to be. We have tamed this world, and now the league is prohibiting growth with their tyranny. I am a fighter, as my son is. And, like him, I will fight for what is right. Hoenn will be the first league to adapt to the new world. No further comments."
I nearly spit my coffee out. My eyes widened as I digested my fathers words. Some would take his words as openly supporting me, without him actually saying it. He had painted a target on his back, and also the back of my mother.
"Hey Mark?" I asked, inspiration hitting me.
"Yes?" Mark answered, in a tone that told me he wasn't exactly paying attention. Although I knew he was.
"Would you do me a favor and monitor for any attacks or surveillance on my family?" I asked him.
The motivation was simple, someone might attack my family. I would argue that it was more than likely actually. Almost a given if I was Team Rocket. There was bound to be some retaliation.
"Already on it, boss." Mark confirmed.
"That reminds me." Sierra's voice said behind me.
I turned around to see that she had gotten dressed for the day. I didn't understand why, seeing as it was night time and we really didn't have anything planned for the rest of the night. We had already trained, and there were no raids planned yet. We were still going over what base to hit next.
She produced a pokeball from her belt. Although it was purple on the top with red circles. It was a masterball, a pokeball capable of catching any pokemon.
"It's a masterball." I deduced, with my Sherlock like abilities.
"Yes, it is." Sierra said with a grin.
"Can it catch anything?" I asked, curious to see if it was the same as in the games. Like, was it really possible to catch Arceus, if he came down from space or wherever the fuck he was?
"It failed on Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. Although the three legendary birds, Entei, Suicune, and Raikou were successful. As best as we can tell, there is an important hierarchy. Pokemon that are crucial to the world, are uncatchable. Only Arceus knows what it can and can't catch." Sierra answered.
That made a whole ton of sense to me. How could you catch a pokemon that represented all of the land in the world, or the seas of the world like Groudon and Kyogre? And there were a lot of pokemon more important to them. Dialga, Palkia, and Giratini being important for the universe made sense also.
"How are you here then, Yveltal?" I asked, curious.
"I am crucial to a world where it might destroy itself. Some pokemon become tyrannus, and become destructive to the population. To a world that has been curbed by that, and won't recover for thousands of years, am I necessary?" Yveltal answered very intelligently. "And truth be told, I allowed the capture when it would have been trivial to escape. Sierra's life force pulled me in and I stay until I am no longer needed." Yveltal expanded.
"Does that mean you can leave whenever you want?" I asked, curious.
I did not get an answer, and that caused more questions than I could spit out in a minute.
"Are all legendaries capable of escape, then?" I wondered to myself.
"No, the ones mentioned earlier could not escape." Sierra answered. "It took a while to train them to obey once caught, however. More mental manipulation from Mewtwo than you can comprehend also. They are completely subservient. I hear there has been a Zororoa caught also, although that is new. All of the Regi's, except Regigigas." Sierra answered.
That was useful information. But I needed to know who exactly had what pokemon. So I asked.
"Who has legendaries?" I asked. It was important not to just walk into a battle with a legendary or mythical pokemon. Genesect was scary enough, and he was only handled because I had a plan that was hard to stop.
Sierra smiled. "I've been meaning to tell you. Mark, would you pull up the chart?"
Immediately, on the massive screen in our lair, a chart pulled up of Team Rocket, and the main players.
At the bottom were two men I wasn't too familiar with. Leader Cliff, and Leader Arlo.
Leader Cliff:
Electivire
Swampert - Mega Stone
Tyranitar
Flygon
Infernape
Articuno
I read that team and I couldn't help but widen my eyes. That was an absolutely horrific team to go against. I had fought Colress, who only seemed to fight with two pokemon, and that was hard to do. But going against a team like Cliff's? Holy shit.
Leader Arlo:
Crobat
Blastoise
Steelix - Mega Stone
Scizor
Salamence
Moltres
I just put my head into my hands. What the fuck are these teams? And how is it fucking legal. Hashi would make the mega steelix his bitch, and Sakura would also be invaluable but we would have to isolate the Leaders to accomplish anything. My eyes scrolled the rest of the leaders of Team Rocket.
Leader Maxie:
Houndoom - Mega Stone
Regice
Crobat
Dragonite
Samurott
Entei
Leader Archie:
Mightyena
Sharpedo - Mega Stone
Registeel
Goodra
Greninja
Suicune
Leader Cyrus:
Gyarados
Weavile
Honchkrow
Regirock
Zeraora
Metagross - Mega Stone
Leader Ghetsis:
Cofragrigus
Bisharp
Raikou
Darkrai
Hydreigon
Toxicroak
Leader Lysandre:
Pyroar
Gyarados - Mega Stone
Zapdos
Marshadow
Kommo-o
Charizard
Giovanni:
Mewtwo - Mega Stone (Y)
Mewtwo - Mega Stone (X)
Nidoking
Garchomp
Kangaskhan
Rhyperior
"Holy shit." I couldn't help but say as I read through the list. The bottom leaders only had one legendary, but made that up with powerful teams surrounding it, and scary fucking mega's.
"Yes, they are quite powerful." Sierra said. "But so are we. We'll have to fight together."
I nodded. "Yes we will. Why doesn't Ghetsis have a mega?" I asked, curious.
"He is too old. He doesn't want to risk the strain on his body, and honestly he doesn't need it. Darkrai was the hardest, and most rewarding to catch out of all but Yveltal." Sierra answered.
"True, more importantly, why the fuck does Giovanni have two Mewtwo's, Two mega stone's, and how can he handle channeling that much power?" I exclaimed.
Sierra sighed. "Mewtwo is easily one of mankind's biggest accomplishments, scientifically. When Blaine created him, he spliced human DNA into Mewtwo. More specifically, he spliced Giovanni's own DNA. Somehow, Mewtwo doesn't need a trainer to mega evolve, it can handle all the energy on it's own without going into a state of rage." She explained.
I have been surprised too many times by this world to react, so I didn't. It was just another obstacle to overcome. Two fucking Mewtwo's though? This world is ridiculous.
"The asteroid has been spotted." Mark's voice interrupted us both.
I couldn't help but wonder what the fuck he was talking about. Then Sierra answered my question without me having to.
"Deoxys…" She whispered, almost as if she had forgotten about it.
Immediately my mind went to how broken Deoxys could be in this world. A Pokemon that could switch between speed, attack, and defense would be an absolute monster. Wasn't his attack stat close to Hashi's in attack form? And also his special attack?
"Giovanni has wanted to get his hands on Deoxys for a long time. He failed in the last world. In our first, we could never find him." Sierra said, as an explanation. "With Two Mewtwo's this time, he'll definitely get him."
I didn't even think about my proposal. All I knew was that Giovanni could not be allowed to have Deoxys. "No he won't. We have to stop him."
Sierra immediately shook her head. "No, we're not ready for that. Giovanni is the strongest trainer on the planet right now. And there is no telling who else will be with him."
"If he gets Deoxys, he'll be unstoppable." I argued. "What's the coordinates, mark?"
"Fuck." Sierra said as she released her malamar. I did the same with Minato.
"You ready?"
We teleported in and I wasted no time in releasing all of my team members. I activated Hashi's mega stone as soon as possible. I didn't need to look over to see that Sierra had done the same.
"Now what?" I asked, as I looked around.
We were on a hill in a forest. There were no towns near, only mountains in the background. I knew that we were in Hoenn somewhere although I didn't know where.
"Now we wait." Sierra said. She was looking up at the sky.
Yveltal flapped his massive wings, and disappeared into the night sky above us. No matter how hard I looked to the sky, I couldn't find him. He just vanished from sight.
Maybe five minutes later, the asteroid showed itself. And it was not something you could watch for a long time. Maybe for twenty seconds it appeared as a small ball of fire, and then it was impacting the ground about five hundred yards ahead.
As the dirt flew into the sky from the impact, I couldn't help but wonder what to do now. Surely we didn't just attack the Deoxys.
"We wait to find Giovanni." Sierra said, apparently reading my mind. Her eyebrows were scrunched together like I hadn't seen before. She was nervous about this. Even with her team that was basically a hard counter to Giovanni.
"And whoever else he has with him." Sierra added on.
When the dust settled in front of us, a bright light, similar to the light that evolution gives off, shone so bright it was like a stadium being lit up. I assumed it was Deoxys evolving and gaining his form.
And then another bright light, but this one was obviously a hyper beam. And it was easily the largest I had ever seen. A path was cut into the forest we stood in. All of a sudden, there was an exactly straight line of dirt, where trees used to be.
I traced the hyper beam's trajectory back to the owner, and found a familiar sight. It was Mewtwo, floating high in the air. I knew this was not the Mewtwo I was familiar with, however. The Mewtwo I was familiar with had yet to be found in this world.
And then, Deoxys was in front of it, with a psycho boost aimed right at its face.
The Mewtwo didn't panic, he just calmly raised a psychic barrier in front of him that absorbed the attack. Before I could realize what was happening, a psystrike was blasted point blank in Deoxys' face. Or at least I thought it was. Deoxys was nowhere to be found when the attack finished. Somehow I knew it wasn't hit with the attack.
I had to use Minato's eyes to see what was really happening.
Deoxys had figured out his forms already. He was swapping back and forth between speed and attack forms ...rapidly. Rapidly didn't do it justice to be honest. There was no indicator of the swap, it just happened. And when he was in his speed form, Minato lost track of the pokemon easily. Deoxys was easily the fastest pokemon he had seen, faster than Extreme Speed.
"Has she found him?" Sierra asked me. She spoke of my drakloak, Sakura who was currently zipping around the forest trying to find Giovanni.
"Not yet." I answered.
Another flash of light, and the two titans in the sky continued to clash. As I sat there and watched the legendary, and mythical pokemon go at it, I couldn't help but think that the Mewtwo was stalling.
Deoxys was learning at a rapid pace, and it's tactics began to change. Mewtwo just sat there and defended when he needed to, while picking up the pace in times where Deoxys would surprise him.
I was currently just in awe of the raw power being thrown around by the two of them. Also the adaptability Deoxys was showing. It was essentially just born, and was pushing an experienced Mewtwo. What could it do with a month of high level training? A year? You would need a very high level legend to stop it at that point.
Without warning, there was another figure beside the Mewtwo in the air. It looked like a twin of the first. Giovanni was here now I was sure of it.
The Mewtwo that had been fighting for a little bit was engulfed in a white glow. The Deoxys decided that it was a good opportunity to attack, before the newly arrived Mewtwo blocked the psycho boost.
And then a Mega Mewtwo X was on the field. It no longer waited for Deoxys to attack, Mewtwo X went on the attack while the other Mewtwo mega evolved.
I just sat there and watched as the battle completely changed.
"Hashi, do NOT get hit with anything. You're in and out with extreme speed, got it?" I said, just as the Mewtwo Y graced the field.
"Hari!" Hashi said as he crouched. He gave no warning, he just disappeared.
"Minato, if he gets in trouble, teleport in and out. One hit means death, treat it that way! Let's get closer, I'm not waiting for Giovanni to show up." I said while giving everyone else their orders in our minds. There wasn't much the others could do but wait for Giovanni's other pokemon to make an appearance. The rest of my team would have enough troubles with them anyway. Especially the garchomp.
The world twisted when Minato touched me, and I was about a hundred feet away from the fighting.
They took notice immediately, and there was a psystrike heading my direction.
Hashi appeared in front of me, and punched the attack away with ghostly energies covering his massive fist.
"Hari!" He roared at the pokemon in the air, and pointed a massive finger at the Mewtwo's. It was an open challenge.
We were here for Mewtwo, not Deoxys.
In the back of my mind, I had to remind myself that I was not the biggest fan of Mewtwo. But to be honest, Tsunade's death was so long ago, it was hard to find the same motivation I used to hold for Mewtwo's death.
The Mewtwo X answered his call, and teleported in front of him, ten feet away from me. What next were a series of blows, with varying type punches.
Shadow Claw by the Mewtwo, was calmly pushed away by Hashi who retaliated with a fire punch. The Mewtwo had obviously never fought a Mega Hariyama before. If it had, it would know not to try and block any attacks.
The arm that the Mewtwo rose to block the attack crumpled under the full force of Hashi's strength. The arm must have shattered immediately, because when the punch broke through the guard of the Mewtwo, it sent it flying.
Hashi, who learned from his mistake with Cynthia's Lucario, pursued. When the Mewtwo landed, it was surprisingly still awake. Hashi's kick was ducked by the Mewtwo, and then it teleported away.
Right in front of me, with a psystrike aimed at my chest.
A very angry arcanine barreled into the Mewtwo X, sending the attack wide. Madara feigned a crunch at my order, knowing that the Mewtwo would counter with a fighting type move.
As soon as the Mewtwo reached back to punch Madara in the mouth, he was bathed with the blue flame of the sacred fire. When I saw the attack land, I thought we had done it. I thought we had eliminated one of the Mewtwo's. I was wrong.
Madara was blown off of the Mewtwo with a weak psychic. It was a knee jerk reaction from the Mewtwo X, to get the massive canine off of him. As soona s Madara was thrown off, the Mewtwo teleported.
I looked to see it behind his comrade, who defended him while he healed himself.
In about three seconds, the battle went from having a Mewtwo X on the ropes to a fully healed, pissed off Mewtwo X. And it's twin was just as angry.
They raised both of their hands in my direction, where I stood, and a single massive psystrike formed in their hands.
Neither saw the massive black wing of Yveltal behind them, but the Mewtwo X sensed it. Right before the attack was about to be fired, the Mewtwo X turned around and formed a quick focus blast.
It managed to save his twin from being rent through with the claws of Yveltal.
And then the psystrike fired towards me.
A white body, with miniature wings on the back of it appeared in front of me. Sierra's Mega Absol fired off one of the most powerful dark type moves I had ever seen. A fully powered night slash cut right through the psystrike, dissipating it.
There was a brief lull in the fighting as another bright light filled the area.
When it dimmed there were ten more pokemon on the field, and they were not the pokemon I wanted to meet right now.
Giovanni and Cyrus floated in the air next to his Mega Metagross and the two Mewtwo's. On the ground were Nidoking, Garchomp, Gyarados, Weavile, Honchkrow, Regirock, Zeraora, Kangaskan, and Rhyperior.
All of my pokemon chose that moment to group up next to me, looking out at the newcomers. A brief disturbance in the air next to me caused me to look over and see Sierra teleporting in with her Malamar. She released the rest of her pokemon quickly. Lapras, Steelix, and Torterra joined her absol and Malamar on the field.
"Well, well, I have been looking for you Sierra." Giovanni said from his position floating in the air.
Sierra didn't answer.
"I see you have thrown your lot in with the youngster. You should have just told me it was good sex that you wanted, I could have arranged it. Now you have made a decision you cannot come back from." Giovanni said.
She didn't bother responding. But I couldn't help myself.
"I'm going to kill you." I said calmly. Right at that moment, Deoxys appeared right in front of me, looking straight at me with it's head tilted to the side.
A massive pressure built up in my head. He was trying to get in. I didn't even hesitate. Somehow, it felt right to allow him access to my mind.
Let him in. I told my pokemon that were actively keeping him out.
They obeyed, and Deoxys practically consumed my memories. He dove into parts of my memory that I didn't even remember. Everything about this world, he learned in a moment. He learned everything about me, down to my memories from another world. All of it was consumed faster than I could blink.
"Now that is interesting, isn't it?" Giovanni said, at the same time as Deoxys stopped.
I shook my head to regain my senses. Deoxys was still in my mind, in a little corner, tucked away. Like another part of my team. It was easy for me to tell that he was actually a part of my team now. I could feel his emotions, and his brain. It was extremely foreign, but was becoming more familiar by the second.
Apologies. His voice said in my mind. It was not extremely deep, nor was it high pitched. It was a mellow sound. I did not know myself. I still might not. But you will show me.
I will do my best. I told the newest addition to my team.
Hagoromo is fitting, is it not. An alien born in this world? Deoxys said, naming himself immediately to fit the team.
I realized in that moment that he was the most adaptive being I had ever met. He would be invaluable. I sent the equivalent of a mental nod towards him. And I could feel him and Minato communicating to each other. Was Minato teaching him moves, right now?
We were not allowed any more time to think. Giovanni had deemed it time to fight again.
"If you will not speak, then you will die."
A/N: Boom!
Wow, I actually did not plan that Deoxys twist there at the end. In fact, I thought that he would become a rogue legendary, or perhaps even an enemy.
A new team member! Hagoromo!
And we got to fight Mewtwo, even if it was only for a little bit. More of that next chapter.
What did we think of the Leaders teams? Of Deoxys joining the team?
Let's talk in the reviews!
