Clothes Over Bros

"I would say given the fact that you've been Sam's mother figure for many years now. You have every right to open the recent envelope and see what this woman wants with Sam. Unless for some reason you have an objection to it." Lucas stated.

Brooke sighed deeply. "This whole thing has been keeping me up at night for days. Which is how i ended up here shredding the envelopes leaving them shut. I can pretend i never say them. And continue to destroy them until this woman gives up and stops sending them." She said.

"Or you can open the latest one. Read it and be honest with Sam about what this woman wrote. I can't and won't tell you what to do here. I have faith you'll do what's best for Sam. That's what you've always done."

"We can enjoy breakfast together then i've got to head to the office." Lucas replied.

"Thanks for listening and offering you're support." Brooke said.

"I wouldn't have it any other 're friends. We've been through alot. You've been there for me. We know what it's like to miss people we love." Lucas stated.

"That we do. So i'll be seeing you and Brandon at the party tonight. Dress is casual no matter what my mom says otherwise. Bring a gift if you want. Even though you're presence is never not welcome."

"Sam adores you. You're her un official father figure. And Brandon's practically been glued to her side since they met." Brooke said.

Lucas smiled warmly. "It's been a honor being someone special to her. She's an incredible girl. I feel so blessed that those two have each other. Lifelong friends are hard to come by." He said.

"Don't i know it." Brooke said. Taking a long sip from her cup.

Tree Hill High School

Brandon Scott clutched his gym tightly then carefully tossed it into his gym locker. He made his way out of the locker room. He planned to enjoy his lunch period in peace. Instead of sitting with his teammates and the same group of teenagers he saw on a daily basis. He was seeking refuge in the oudoor seating area.

His tray of food nearby as he clutched his sketch pad.

His headphones in his ears playing music.

His life had been pretty normal and happy until he was 10. The unexpected death of his mother sent his father into a spiral. Thrown into the role of instant single father.

If they were honest with each other. They would admit that moving on was still a process they were dealing with.

Sam's friendship had kept him from drowning in grief.

For his father he had made the best of a bad situation pouring all his time and energy into his son and his work.

Then of course the random nights with women Lucas never introduced to his son. Simply because they were fleeting faces. His heart was guarded.

Sam was out enjoying herself. Having lunch with her grandparents a tradition that happened every birthday that Brooke knew nothing about.

The Inside Out Restaurant

"To Sam. Our shining star." Ted Davis stated.

"We love you. This is the only time of year that you get dessert first. So enjoy it." Victoria said.

"I love the both of you too. I look forward to this lunch every year." Sam replied. As she handed off her menu to the waiter who then rushed off to the kitchen.

"We do too. You are smart, grounded, and responsible. Which is why we expect you to take the gift of the car seriously. We are covering the insurance and any damages. You just need to pay for gas." Ted announced.

"And these ground rules we have set up. No more then two friends in the car at a time. No drinking, drugs, or speeding." Victoria announced.

"The two of you are being more then fair. I won't disappoint either of you. Having this car. The freedom it allows means alot to me." Sam proclaimed.
