("Kickstart My Heart" by Mötley Crüe)
At the instruction of Carol, Priscilla kicked off the performance by holding a riff for a few seconds before Sid Fret took her turn strumming her own guitar. Carol expertly played the drums soon after to show the audience that the opening song meant business.
Meanwhile, not too far away, Poppy's group and Bash's group continued engaging in a Mexican Stand-Off, wielding their various firearms and melee weapons. Narrowed eyes and squinted glares abound, but no sign of action until...
"Yeah!" Barb screamed into her microphone, prompting Bash's group to make the first move. Poppy's group followed suit and began to fight their foes ferociously, much to the shock of the Party Crashers.
Poppy and Branch drew their swords and handguns as they battled Bash, whose attempted slices and dices were dodged by both. Their swords clashed with his machete, while shots were fired in order to land a hit. Three were, but they weren't enough to deter him. A few feet away, Hickory and Prince D were fighting a larger opponent, who was more content on smashing his enemies than damage control. When they were pinned against the wall, Queen Essence and King Quincy unleashed frightening battle cries and tackled the Party Crasher that was attacking his son and the Country/Yodeler Troll. They both beat him to a pulp and threw him against the wall in return, him unfortunately landing on ropes of discarded power cables.
[Verse 1]
When I get high, I get high on speed
Top fuel funny car's a drug for me
My heart, my heart
Kickstart my heart
Always got the cops coming after me
Custom built bike doing 103
My heart, my heart
Kickstart my heart
Adrenaline was flowing through Priscilla's veins as she helped Barb, Sid Fret, and Carol during their performance. She was content with remaining on the sidelines, but she couldn't help but become more and more entranced by the spotlight standing in front on him and shining on her mentor.
Satin and Chenille used their hair to choke a Party Crasher and used him as a shield as they scored shots from behind. Four others merely shot him after a few minutes and forced the twins to take cover. Creek and Meadow opened fire moments and took out the four themselves. A few feet away, DJ and Trollex teamed up to shoot a total of 12 enemies before eventually being overwhelmed and pulled back by Delta Dawn and Growly Pete, who advanced with their lever-action rifles.
[Pre-Chorus]
Ooh, are you ready girls?
Ooh, are you ready now?
Carol and Sid Fret were feeling the energy in their blood as well when they performed alongside Barb. The former may have had suspicions about her Queen's back-up band after Riff's...absence, but the latter thought they were cool after they performed a hardcore song that she unfortunately missed. Plus, she had to give them all a chance especially since it was Barb's victory night.
The Reggaeton and K-Pop Gangs punched, kicked, stabbed, and slashed the living hell out of any hapless Party Crasher who charged them, watching each other's back as they did so. When Wani was pulled away from the group by the hair, Tresillo tackled the Party Crasher responsible and drove his machete into her chest. Likewise, Tresillo was tackled away and punched by an enraged male only to be violently punched into unconsciousness himself by Wani. This pattern was repeated by Riff and Kim-Petit.
[Chorus]
Whoa, yeah
Kickstart my heart, give it a start
Whoa, yeah
Baby
Whoa, yeah
Kickstart my heart, hope it never stops
Ooh, yeah
Baby, yeah
Onstage, Biggie, Guy Diamond, and the others did their absolute best to keep up, wondering how Priscilla (a fellow Pop Troll) was able to do so flawlessly. More importantly, they were wondering what she was even doing there in the first place.
Creek and Meadow continued firing their semi-automatic rifles as Delta Dawn and Growly Pete reloaded their lever-action rifles. Noticing a Party Crasher advancing from behind, DJ and Trollex tackled and beat her up, moving out of the way in time for the Country Trolls to pump her full of bullet holes.
[Verse 2]
Skydive naked from an aeroplane
Or a lady with a body from outer space
My heart, my heart
Kickstart my heart
Say I got trouble, trouble in my eyes
I'm just looking for another good time
My heart, my heart
Kickstart my heart
Now reinvigorated, Hickory and Prince D reentered the battle, the former dual-wielding his shotgun and sword in the same vein as Poppy and Branch and the latter commandeering any stray weapon he could get his hands on. They eventually teamed up to take down a larger Party Crasher who almost ambushed Queen Essence and King Quincy, who were busy holding the line with Poppy and Branch.
Barb spun around and faced the crowd with a pointed index finger, inciting more and more cheers by the minutes. Nothing was going to ruin her night. Nothing...but a group of vengeful Trolls attempting to end her reign as the Queen of Rock.
[Pre-Chorus]
Yeah, are you ready girls?
Yeah, are you ready now, now, now?
Like Satin and Chenille before them, Marimba and Tambora used combination attacks to disorient and defeat their opponents. Ari sprinted and leapt over them, spinning around delivering a roundhouse kick to knock out the two Reggaeton girls' opponents. Nearby, Adora and Catra helped Gomdori and Baby Bun take down yet another massive Party Crasher. Delta Dawn finished him by back kicking in the head, sending him falling face-first.
[Chorus]
Whoa, yeah
Kickstart my heart, give it a start
Whoa, yeah
Baby
Whoa, yeah
Kickstart my heart, hope it never stops
Whoa, yeah
Baby
Bash swiped Poppy and Branch off their feet and prepared to cut them down. Unexpectedly, Satin and Chenille interfered, sliding over and using their hair to sweep him off his feet in return. A now enraged Bash turned his attention on them, slashing away at them doing minimal damage...until the moment he cut their hair in half, separating and horrifying them both.
[Bridge]
Kickstart my heart
When we started this band, all we needed
Needed was a laugh
Years gone by, I'd say we've kicked some ass
When I'm enraged or hitting the stage
Adrenaline rushing through my veins
And I'd say we're still kicking ass
I say, ooh-ah
Kickstart my heart, hope it never stops
And to think, we did all of this to rock
Witnessing this, Poppy and Branch mustered their remaining strength to beat Bash to a pulp before tossing him over a railing, landing back-first on another down below. Tending to a saddened and crushed Satin and Chenille, they helped them up and beckoned the group to follow them down to the next levels.
[Chorus]
Whoa, yeah
Kickstart my heart, give it a start
Whoa, yeah
B-b-b-b-b-b-baby
Whoa, yeah
Kickstart my heart, hope it never stops
Whoa, yeah
Baby
Kickstart my heart, hope it never stops
Whoa, yeah
Baby
Whoa, yeah
Kickstart my heart, give it a start
Whoa, yeah
Barb suddenly turned toward Biggie, Guy Diamond, Tiny Diamond, and Sky Toronto, all of whom gulped nervously.
"Ok, boys..." She smirked, "Let's rock the house!"
Sid Fret chuckled and performed a drum solo while the four Pop Trolls "provided" back-up guitar. This drum solo lasted for 33 seconds until the end.
"That's all!" Barb lampshaded and the crowd's cheers drastically increased. As for the other Trolls, they were caught off guard by this new musical genre that employed explicit energy and rawness to its fullest extent. While some of them had their reservations, others actually found it rather lively, if far from what they were used to.
Gaining a front-row seat, Cooper and King Peppy were ironically caught in the middle: they both showed unease and fascination with the Rock genre. Little did they know, Barb and her crew were just getting started...
"What's up, my fellow Rock Trolls?!"
The Rock Trolls greeted their Queen with cheers of apprasial and eagerness for another dose of their signature music.
"Did you like that opening performance? Well, we're just getting started..."
"Is everyone okay?" Poppy and Branch performed a head count and checked the condition of their members before remembering what happened to Satin and Chenille as everyone found out.
"Satin, Chenille!" DJ gasped in horror, "Your hair..."
"We're fine..." Satin barely whispered while Chenille said nothing. She did pick up two of the machetes two of the Party Crashers used before sheathing them across her back. She then used the blood of those same two Party Crashers as improvised war paint while her face contorted into an angry scowl, much to the surprise of Poppy's group.
"Let's...do this..." Chenille finally growled before unleashing a frightening war cry much like Queen Essence and King Quincy did, charging head first into battle with the impending Party Crashers.
"Whoa! Chenille!" Satin charged after her sister as they watched on.
"Huh," Catra chuckled with awe, "I like her already."
Catra chased after her, followed by Poppy, Branch, and then the others. As they did, Poppy spotted two familiar faces in the crowd down below.
"Dad! Cooper!"
"What? Where?" Prince D looked in Poppy's direction, "But what are they doing there?"
"I don't know, but we're about to find out..." Branch urged the others to keep going onward.
A/N: Happy belated Broppy Day! Also, Jake H Voronkov suggested that I use this song in place of "Barracuda" and I honestly couldn't be more glad for this decision. This means that the next two chapters will contain two more action sequences before the final battle: one being "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting", the other being "Barracuda".
