A long time has passed before Caitlin came back to the cortex. At first she felt like she couldn't possibly face her friends, like it was too much, like she didn't want them to see her this way, but then loneliness and despair won.

She had two options - she could stay and never get out of bed, what she'd done once before; or she could go out there and face the music.

Only it seemed too much and completely unbearable. Her system felt so overloaded that she was completely numb, her mind exhausted with memories that were now running freely in her head, her body not so strong either since she once again shared it with Killer Frost.

And that made her realize she still had questions. It was like the last few weeks, the time on this new earth after the crisis, marked a new her as well. Or maybe not really new, but rewritten, if that made sense. Like a glitch in the matrix happened and suddenly she was back and Killer Frost was there as well and they were once again at the start.

Eventually, she did force herself to get up and go meet her friends. She asked for the whole story. She still wanted that. And later? She had no idea how to go on and how to even exist. She just wanted to erase those past few weeks. She wanted her family back. She wanted another chance. Why was she always so unlucky? Yes, she knew what you put out there into the universe, you got, but she had done that. She had been happy, positive, past traumas dealt with and let go of. She'd had everything she needed and was grateful and happy with it.

She could not really say that now she had nothing, though. That was not true. She had her life and her sister back and she had her two best friends.

Only that was never going to suffice, considering…

The moment Cisco saw her, she could tell he was in an emotional disarray as well while being shaky, walking back and forth whereas Barry was just sitting in his chair, his face in his hands.

Cisco walked over to her and hugged her tight and she really wanted to reciprocate that, but she was afraid it would break her completely. Instead, she pulled away and asked, "Is that why you took the trip around earth prime? You were looking for signs, weren't you?"

He nodded.

"I'm still looking, but I don't know where to anymore. I cannot just accept that earth 2 is gone... We cannot possibly be all alone in the universe... If only I got my powers..."

"Cisco, it's not your fault," Barry told him, finally making his way to them. He avoided Caitlin's eyes, though, probably sympathizing as well and hating, absolutely hating that there was nothing they could do.

"Have you considered the possibility that our technology just isn't good enough to know for sure about the existence of other earths?" Caitlin asked, led by her knowledge of earth 2 advancements. "Last time we had no idea the multiverse existed. It was only after the wormhole that we realized..."

"But still... if earth 2 was out there, he would've found a way," Barry said, hating that he needed to be the spoilsport, but he really wasn't sure what false hope could do to Caitlin if it really were false.

"Not necessary," Cisco said when thinking hard. "That all depends. With potential multiverse new, it could've taken years or even decades to find the right frequency, to build the right device, but... we still have no proof there is a multiverse to begin with. From what I know, there's just earth prime. We even have supergirl here now, so isn't that an evidence enough?"

"We also have me," they suddenly heard and spotted Nash Wells standing in the entrance.

Caitlin was not sure what to even think or feel at his sight. He was the one who'd started it all, after all. He was here whereas the love of her life was not. She was hit with a strange wave of resentment and tenderness in the same time just because of his looks and she hated every second of it.

"What do you mean?" Barry frowned at that.

"I'm not sure that all the Wellses are gone," Nash then said what Caitlin and all of them really so desperately wanted to hear. Now that they did, they couldn't believe their ears. "There are in my head. Especially one is particularly stubborn, showing up every time I see her." Nash pointed Cait and for one more time that long day, she paled, her heart beating fast.

Nash's entrance and his mysterious answer brought quite the commotion upon them and in no time, they were all gathered around him, staring and waiting for more.

"What do you mean you can see Harry?!" Caitlin asked immediately, feeling all too frantic. It made no sense. Nothing that Nash just told them made any sense whatsoever. She just wanted her husband and baby back and holding on to false hope would surely kill her at this point. Then again, she had nothing to lose, really, since she didn't think there was a life for her without them.

"Not just him. I see many Welsses," the doppelganger added, causing even bigger frown to appear on Cisco's face.

The guy was thinking hard for a while before asking, "And by seeing you meaaan... like a ghost? Like what? This makes no sense!"

"Yes!" Wells pointed Cisco. "Exactly! Like a ghost! I tend to see her husband whenever she's near, but I also saw the French guy."

"Is he... Is he here now?" Caitlin wanted to know, though she still proceeded with caution.

"He's killing me with his eyes and... oh, well, he's gone."

"Gone?! Why?! He's just now conveniently gone?!" Barry raised his voice.

"I'm not making this up, if that's what you're worried about. I'm just as confused as you, guys! At first I thought I was going crazy and I was afraid to say anything, then I grew desperate and I was on my way to see him," he pointed Cisco, "when I heard your conversation, guys."

"Is it possible there's some kinda connection between Wells's brains?" Barry asked the perfect question.

"But there is no earth 2," Cisco reminded. "And as much as it pains me to say..."

"So Harry's intelligence, what?" Caitlin asked. "Jumped to Nash? Across the multiverse?! It makes no sense! And what about Sherloque, then?!"

"I don't really have an explanation for that," Cisco admitted. "Superior intelligence? We all know almost every Wells was always the brightest."

"Emphasis on almost," Barry reminded. "And honestly, I don't really think that's it."

"Well, there's just one way to find out," Caitlin decided, reaching her hand out with the device she herself had used not so long ago. "Nash, put this on, please. We need to know the answer and whatever it is, I also need to talk to my husband."

He looked at the device rather scared and made a step back.

"It won't hurt. I promise," Cisco said in tired and exasperated voice. "Dude, it's basically all your fault what happened, so the least you can do is to put this on and help us," he then added, making his way to Nash and securing the thingy on his forehead. "I wish to talk to Harry Wells, no one else," he said on afterthought.

There was sudden silence as they waited, watching Nash's suddenly slack face with bated breaths.

Then, finally, he blinked a few times and next thing they knew, his eyes set on Caitlin.

"Snow," a very familiar husky tone of voice sounded.

"Oh my God, Harry!" Cait couldn't control herself. She knew in her brain this was still Nash's body, but she flew straight into his arms anyway, knowing the mind was at the moment occupied by someone else - her husband.

"What happened? How is this possible? Did you somehow find a connection to another Wells's mind before earth 2 was swept away?" they heard Barry asking.

"How did you manage to hold on and not disappear?" Cisco followed with. "I only observed this phenomena with you."

Caitlin remained silent, out of power, just holding him, feeling that the body was somehow not the one she was used to and it smelt of different cologne, but this had to suffice. She still never wanted to let go and knowing he might really be dead was too horrible to even imagine.

"What do you, guys, mean?" Harry frowned, gently pulling away from his wife's arms for a moment. "I am not dead. I've been trying to find a way to this earth for weeks now. Finding a connection to Wells here was all I could so far accomplish. I'm afraid I also swept a few others on the way, but I needed to get in contact with you."

"You're alive?!" Cisco screamed in shock whereas Caitlin's heart stopped.

"Earth 2 is back. The multiverse is reborn. I just cannot find a way to get to yours. It's like we have completely new rules and there's no breech available this time."
