Yo, I'm excited for this. This chapter is going to be fairly longer than normal.
Just wanted to say: I'm very excited for the new year. And, guys, the only ones that can make this year good, is us. So, let's do it.
Reminder: Remember that poll that I used to talk about, way back when? Yeah, I didn't have it actually on my profile but now it is. The question is, which trio has a better/stronger bond? Annabeth, Percy and Grover, Jason, Piper and Leo, Harry, Hermione and Ron, or Luna, Ginny and Neville. Please go check that out and vote. PM me and tell me why you think that. Or just leave a review.
Also, I have 2 other stories if you didn't know. Harry Potter vs Percy Jackson; I compare 1 thing/person from Harry Potter and 1 thing/person from Percy Jackson. The other one is called 'Turns Out I CAN Be Popular'. Annabeth, Thalia, Piper and Hazel are a band. I've been thinking about that story and I think the new chapters for that story may be few and far between now. I'm just enjoying this and the HP/PJO story more. I'm not quitting, just taking a step back.
Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson.
Yo. My name is Harvey Austin, son of the greatest god, Ares. If you think gods like Athena or Artemis are great because they're slow and methodic... YOU'RE WRONG. When it comes to a fight, what can smarts do for you? Being the child of the war god gives you a good handle on any weapon. And being a child of Ares means you have a certain toughness to you. Not like those prissy Aphrodite kids that won't do anything. The point is: you see someone being a sissy? Tell 'em, tell them any way possible.
And one day, I thought I'd found the jackpot. Two sissys, in fact.
Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase.
I came to Camp in the middle of a... crisis, I guess some people would call it. See, this guy Percy Jackson was missing. On my first day, I'd watched the orientation video and I learned that demigods died every day. So, with my logic, I thought, 'Well, who cares? Another day, another death'. But, apparently, this Percy guy was pretty popular. I mean, everyone was searching for him. Most campers, the horse-dude, Chiron, this group of chicks called 'The Hunters of Artemis', everyone. I couldn't feel too much sympathy for this guy, he got his ass lost and now he's missing; too bad.
But there was one person that was especially driven to find him. She's s a child of Athena, which means she has blond hair and grey eyes by default. Her name was Annabeth and she's lean and smart, just like an Athena kid should be. But she gave the reports about Percy and she was like the leader. I asked around, and she and Percy had saved the world just a few months before.
Then, a gazillion things started happening around Camp. Usually, Camp was a mild place. Then 3 kids that were my age came along. Annabeth had personally retrieved them because Hera had sent her some kind of 'vision'. Those 3 kids got a fricking quest on their first day at Camp. They came back, we figured out that the oh so powerful Percy Jackson was at some counterpart Roman demigod camp. Blah, blah, blah, we found him, 7 people went on a quest, became BFF's, saved the world, blah, blah blah.
Oh, yeah. And Percy and Annabeth fell into Tartarus. The whole Camp was freaking out when they got Annabeth's message to some mortal girl names Rachel, who was our 'oracle'. It's like she poops out the future. Anyway, let's go to after the whole fight and everything. When 8 figures stepped off that huge ship*.
The whole Camp shielded their eyes and stood in anticipation. They were looking upward because one of the 3 kids that arrived at Camp earlier made this huge ship that he called the Argo II. And it can fly. But I didn't look up. Nope. I stood there with my arms crossed and a scowl on my face.
When a large shadow finally fell upon the ground I was looking at, I knew they'd come back. I finally looked up grudgingly. I could make out 6 figures standing on the deck on the massive barge. The boat came to the ground and the 6 characters I'd seen earlier came out. Piper, Leo, Jason and a satyr, Gleeson Hedge, made an appearance and a roar of approval went up. Then 2 other kids came out, hand in hand. Probably some Roman prisoners they picked up along the way. But they didn't look unhappy. The boy's Asian panda bear features were tired but smiling and the girl's dark face was looking around.
"Who the hell are they?" A voice shouted. A murmur spread through the crowd like a ripple in a pond.
"This is Frank and Hazel," Jason said over the noise of the group, "They're Romans, like me."
"Does that means we should trust them?" I sneered.
All 4 of them glared at me. "Yes. Yes, it does," Hedge answered and waved his club threateningly.
"Where are Percy and Annabeth?" Rachel asked anxiously.
"Did they survive?" Someone asked tactlessly.
Piper glared at that person. "In fact, they did."
"Then where the Hades are they?" I shouted. Of course, I didn't really care, but it seemed like no one else was brave enough to ask.
"Sleeping," Piper said bluntly.
"That still doesn't explain why they aren't out here!" A Hephaestus kid shouted, Jake Mason, I think.
Big Asian Panda Bear- 'Frank'- crossed his arms and looked much less friendly. If he wants to fight, I'll fight. "I don't know too much about you Greeks, but I'll bet none of you has been to Tartarus." He raised an eyebrow as if to ask the question silently.
"Well, in case you haven't been," Jason started, "It sucks. More than I think any of you can imagine."
"If you think the monsters and nightmares we already face are terrifying, you should know that Tartarus takes it to the maximum," Hazel added.
I sneered on the outside like this sounded easy, but my nightmares were pretty sucky. Just last night, I dreamed that everyone didn't like me, so unlike the real world.
Just then there were some crashing and things getting knocked over inside the barge. 2 people rushed out with weapons in their hands. Oh, yay, Annabeth and Percy. Annabeth had a sword that I had to admit looked wicked, especially because it looked like it was made of bones. Percy was carrying his famous sword, Riptide, which was about 3 feet long and literally had a bronze glow around it.
Percy let out a breath. "Thank the gods, we thought you guys had been taken or something... or left us."
"Why would we be taken and you 2 not?" Jason frowned.
"Because, maybe, they would've seen 2 people quietly sleeping and say, 'Oh, well, I like to sleep too. I'll leave them alone.'" Percy retorted sarcastically.
"Heroes!" Chiron interrupted. "I'm sure we are all pleased by your status of being alive, but for now, we will give these heroes time to rest. Tonight, we shall have a special dinner!" Chiron announced, meanwhile I was thinking, 'Why should we be glad their back? What's so special about them?'
Time Skip That's Legal... Mostly
That night's dinner was special indeed, we could have anything we wanted, even a greasy piece of pizza or hamburger. And coke. But that was the only good thing about them coming back.
I was heading to the Ares cabin, where lights out is 'whenever you feel like it' which is awesome, when I saw the sissy, Jackson, walking out of the Camp store with a small nightlight, surrounded by his friends.
"Jackson!" I yelled.
"Austin," Jackson addressed, not nice but not necessarily cold.
"Afraid of the dark?" I taunted.
"Don't you have something better to do?" Leo asked coldly.
"Oh, nothing better than an audience with those who just saved our godly asses just now," I did a little mock-bow.
"How about you fuck off?" Piper asked like a question, yet made it obvious it wasn't, pulling her dagger out slightly.
I gave one last look to all of them and headed toward my cabin.
About 3:00 AM
I was having the best dream, I was killing monsters left, right and centre and after that everyone was scrambling just to touch me. And I was woken up by a long, drawn-out scream. My half-sister and cabin counsellor, Clarisse La Rue, was already up and out the door, a chest plate thrown over a T-Shirt with her spear in her hands.
I took my sweet time, still waking up. I finally got out of bed and brought my AK-47, with Celestial Bronze bullets, my weapon of choice. I held it in my hands and ran outside, ready for 6 hellhounds, when, instead, I was greeted by a crowd outside the Poseidon cabin. I groaned. I'd gotten out of bed- woken up from my amazing dream- for this?! The only person in the Poseidon cabin is ole Prissy Jackson.
'Probably just him wanting more attention,' I gathered. I turned around and headed back to my cabin, trying to hold onto my incredibly realistic dream.
Ares' Cabin Sparring Practice
My cabin was sparring today, taught by Clarisse, which was good because most of the time I would feel bad for beating up girls.
"Harvey, get up here!" Clarisse ordered.
I calmly walked up there and got a sword from the rack. I'm not usually a swordsman, but when your dad's the god of war, you can get a feel for whatever weapon you pick up. Apparently, the same went for Clarisse, as she was holding a bronze sword, too.
"No armour?" I asked.
"Not for me, but if you want some..." She shot back coolly.
"Three," I said.
"Two."
"One."
We started sparring quickly, Clarisse gaining leverage by the second.
"Hey, Clarisse, what do you think about those guys coming back?" I asked in a strained voice.
"What about 'em?" Clarisse eyed me.
I snorted. "They don't deserve any glory. They just want attention. Especially that Jackson kid. Going on a quest to save the world, getting back and acting like there's a monster right outside his cabin at night. Screaming like an 8-year-old girl." I was expecting Clarisse to agree with me, last I heard she had beef with Jackson.
Instead, she narrowed her eyes and said: "Actually they do. I don't see you getting up any time to save the world. Jackson's saved the world more times than you can count. Along with all his friends."
I sneered and found new adrenaline in sparring. "Found a soft spot for Prissy, have you?"
And before I knew it, Clarisse had me pinned and on the floor, her sword tip cold on my Adam's Apple.
"No one calls Jackson Prissy except for me." Clarisse held a certain threat in her voice.
I scrambled up and scoffed, even though Clarisse really did scare me. "Fine, whatever. I can't believe you're just another person that'll kiss up to him."
And that's why you can't insult the Seven in front of Clarisse.
*Coach Hedge makes 8.
Maybe this chapter was anti-climatic. Such a long wait and such a long chapter for an off-topic ending. *Sigh*
Well, hope you enjoyed, read the AN at the top if you haven't already and tell me what you think.
KEEP BEING AWESOME,
