Lessons In Love: Chapter Seventy-Four: West Coast (Part 4)
OPERATION B.L.O.N.D.I.E. was a go. The baby Steve Rogers was inside that suit, and an invisible screen lit up on the right hand side of his face.
Only Steve could see that screen. It displayed information for him whenever he needed it, and it currently showed him some sort of a virtual vibration.
When the technology spoke to him, the vibration fluctuated. Steve heard an unfamiliar voice and he kept staring at the hands of that suit.
He was wearing thick gloves over his hands. They were very lightweight, but they also felt like they weighed a ton. Steve didn't understand it at all. The suit was inspecting his body.
Steve received a full CAT scan of his body. He liked that it monitored his hydration levels, and even his energy intake.
Steve burned through food like you wouldn't believe. The simplicity of the information was helpful for him as well.
Big Tony knew all about that. He knew that Steve Rogers just needed the facts. He eased off of any excess info, and only gave him what he needed.
"Good evening Steve Rogers. I am a program called B.L.O.N.D.I.E. If you have any questions, let me know."
"Thank you, I'd like to know how to maneuver in this suit. If you don't mind, B.L.O.N.D.I.E."
"Sir, I never mind. That is not in my programming."
The voice was robotic. Steve found it amusing, and he was guided through the features of the suit at his own pace.
Howard was excited to witness Steve adapt to the suit. It was one of a kind. He dropped everything that was currently on his plate, and took Steve to a location where he could get used to his uniform.
As Howard got Steve in gear, the older Tony received a message directly from B.L.O.N.D.I.E.
He knew all about Baby Steve getting dressed up for the dance. He read several updates from a screen that wasn't visible to others, and he decided to keep that information to himself.
Instead, Tony looked over at the Apple Twins. He specifically stared at the older Steve. Tony wondered how he would feel about his younger self wearing the Stars and Stripes.
His main man didn't identify with it. Tony remembered one of the last times Steve actually wore his suit.
He intentionally made his Vishanti suit nothing like one that was worn by "Captain America". That wasn't who his main was.
He kept looking at Steve until that blonde glanced in his direction. The Apple Twins were still trying to scooby-doo whatever the hell Roma was planning for all of them.
Tony had a hunch. Actually, he had something more than that, but no one had asked him to express any ideas. Tony kept his thoughts on that to himself as well. He needed to gather some more intel before he officially chimed in.
Guess who picked up on that?
Tony stood on his lonesome. He was off to the side of the group as the discussion between them carried on. That blonde bombshell took notice of Tony's quiet behavior.
When the moment was right, the older Steve walked around his little red corvette. He studied him, and Steve's eyebrow had a slight arch.
"Can we talk? Or are you still super into this?"
Tony needed to get Steve allll alone. It wasn't for devious reasons. No way. Tony still had Stephen on his mind when it came to the physical stuff. He blamed all of that on his younger self.
No, Tony wanted to be alone with Steve because he had something on his mind. It was something that he only wanted to share with his main man.
Clea and Stephen had too much on their plate. He kept looking at the husband and wife. They really loved each other, Tony saw it right away. He was glad that the wizard prick was considering fatherhood.
Clea was telling Stephen something, but Tony couldn't hear a damn thing.
They both had the softest voices that he had ever heard. Tony embraced his own noise as he waited for Steve to respond to him. He got distracted.
Tony received another alert from B.L.O.N.D.I.E. and it made him slowly look over at his main man. Steve had already answered the question. Tony didn't hear him, so Steve was standing with his arms crossed.
"I said, of course we can talk."
He chuckled at the look on Tony's face. Steve was amused with him, and he mentioned that the meeting had adjourned.
It was time to leave the realm of Oshtur, and Steve made it pretty simple. Portals were established, and the evening sky emerged above Tony's head.
They were at the Kamar taj. Tony noticed that he was taken to a spot that was right next to Steve's favorite tree. The soldier didn't feel like going home in that moment, and he just let the others do as they pleased.
Steve didn't keep track of Clea or Stephen. He was focused on Tony, and waiting for him to say something.
Tony kept his focus on Steve. He looked at his soft white shirt, and his comfortable jeans. Steve looked very handsome. Tony loved him with everything that he had, and it made him feel a little emotional.
He became pretty quiet, and slowly looked down at the floor beneath their feet.
"I had a dream, Steve. Stephen mentioned something today that reminded me of it."
Steve gently uncrossed his arms, and his hands migrated up onto his hips. Tony's dreams...
Steve always felt nervous whenever Tony mentioned anything about a dream. Plus, the look that was on Tony's face didn't help him either.
He asked him what it was, and Tony began his confession. He told Steve the whole friggen thing.
