A Battle of Mind and Body
Author's Note: Ash-Greninja vs. Mewtwo. Who will prevail?
-KA
In the blink of an eye, Greninja sprinted across the battlefield as it entered one on one combat with the enemy. Greninja cloaked itself in water and shot forwards towards the Mewtwo, and slammed its body into it. The Mega Mewtwo X retaliated with a Focus Blast, but before the attack could hit Greninja, it jumped into the sky, leaving behind a body double that took the attack for it. While in the air, Greninja shot a dark beam of energy from its hands, which hit the opponent Mewtwo in the face, causing it to collapse onto the ground.
Just as Mewtwo began to use the move Recover, Greninja used Double Team and began running circles around Mewtwo, every copy shooting off a flurry of small Water Shurikens. This maneuver had managed to prevent the opponent from fully recovering. In order to put an end to this attack, the Mewtwo sent out another Psychic burst of energy, making all of the copies fade, exposing the real Greninja.
With its arm, the enemy Mewtwo formed a large green scythe out of pure energy once more. Greninja followed suit, forming a gigantic blade made out of a Water Shuriken. The two Pokemon began flying through the air exchanging attacks, neither one giving up the offensive, each weapon clashing with the other every single time. Eventually the two were spread roughly 20 yards from each other, and locked eyes.
The two Pokemon flew directly at each other, both with an equal intent to put the other one down. Inches from colliding, Mewtwo swung its scythe forward in order to hit Greninja clean in the throat.. Greninja leaned backwards, dodging the blade and slashed its sword across the opponent's exposed right leg. Mewtwo lost its balance and fell to its knees. The Green Mega Mewtwo X knelt on the ground, too exhausted to Recover or continue fighting. It had truly met its match against this opponent, suffering its first ever loss.
'All this power...' The wounded enemy said to Ash-Greninja. 'All this raw power and here you are wasting your potential fighting for the losing side.'
'I am only on the side of fighting for what is right,' Greninja said, turning towards the green Mewtwo. 'Beings much like yourself are given the power to do amazing things, but due to your own bleak outlook on life you have been taken down the wrong path.'
'My Master has glorious plans for the future,' Mewtwo said once more. 'And it is too late for you to stop him.'
'Then I will fight, up until my final breath, to ensure that does not happen,' Greninja said. Greninja, now turning away from Mewtwo, spun its blade around and pierced its opponent in the back, dealing a fatal blow through the chest. The Psychic type Pokemon fell face down on the ground and reverted back to its original form. The evil Pokemon then began to fade away into millions of tiny particles, which rose and disappeared into the sky. With that, the enemy Mewtwo had been defeated.
"We did it…" A weakened Ash said, stumbling forward. Greninja caught him and then held him up. "I can't believe you are here right now. I don't know what would have happened if you didn't show up."
'And let you die?' Greninja said to its trainer. 'Our Auras have been bonded for a long time now, and as soon as I felt your severe distress, I knew I had to come to your side. I've now come back to you today to join you in battle once more!'
Ash smiled, allowing a tear to run down his cheek. Finding his strength he stood on his own two feet as he and his Greninja, who he shared a special bond with, embraced in a hug. He then moved over to his two Alolan companions, who had sustained their own injuries in battle, and thanked them for their valiant effort in protecting him. Ash couldn't help but smile as he had been reunited with three of his strongest, and most sentimental Pokemon. The victory was short-lived however, when Ash and the Team had fully grasped the fact that his Mewtwo and Charizard had been abducted by one of the most evil men in the Multiverse... and possibly worse, he was in posession of the Indigo Crown, which had some sort of link to the God Pokemon, Arceus.
