I'm an indecisive person and decided I hated how I'd set up the future chapter's so I'm rewriting them. In this new timeline(None of what happened in the other's matters) Cassidy is 16 and the younger kid, only some will be different. Sorry. Also, Via Elliot and Esme do not exist in this universe and Rowan(Row) will be different so you can forget all of the troll stuff. I am once again so sorry and after this, no chapters will be deleted I promise.

Again I am so very sorry for all of this confusion and for an update on what's happening is Jim has woken in a cafe with Claire in there and Cassidy is gone. A beast is there and here we go.

. . .

"Jim!" Claire's shrill in panicked voice shouted.

Turning back he was relieved but also became panicked to see she was no longer holding Cassidy. She gasped pointing her finger towards the creature standing four stories above them all." Jim!" she shouted, starring the TrollHunter's attention to the creature that was bolting towards him.

Standing four stories high the creature was terrifying with jagged stone teeth protruding out of its wide-open mouth. The fur on its back was dark green but not like Aaarrrggghhh's. This monster's fur was clumped together with mud and filth and had bloodthirst in its dead black hollow eyes that seemed like two small black holes. It walked like a gorilla on it's massive two front legs, dashing straight ahead towards him.

The underdog in that scenario Jim did all he could do which was run. He sprinted past Claire who was still panicking over the absent Cassidy. Grasping her wrist tightly he pulled her as he didn't try to outrun but instead outsmart the beast. Jim observed that in the dark almost entirely pitch-black cave there was the sound of water. By the sound, it didn't seem like it was under them but more like next to them. Hurrying across the chasm he had to grab Claire as she almost fell down a large ditch that as it sounded at the bottom was water.

"Get ready," he said to her, grabbing her at the waist and standing steady as he waited for the beast to grow close enough.

Claire noticed the sound of the river and turned to her fiancé."Wait Jim what are you-"

Not allowing her the proper time to finish the sentence, Jim pushed her over the edge, following close behind. With a great splash, he joined her in the water, the cold cave water covering him like a comforting blanket. But all comfort vanished when he remembered the circumstances leading to them being in the water. The main question passing through his brain was, where were they? The second was, where is Cassidy? And the third was... shit, Claire!

Opening his eyes, the water froze them but he could still make out the blurry figure of his wife to be. She'd landed in a spot a few yards from him but a spot where the water was shallower. She must've hit her head, he assumed recalling that she'd always been a good swimmer. Resurfacing, he paddled towards her, diving down to pull her up. The stream that had a strong current didn't help as it pulled them further from the beast but somewhere they probably had no idea how to escape. Gasping for air, he hoisted Claire so her mouth and nose were out at least.

"Come on Claire," he begged, scanning their surroundings for some land or anything to climb above. Just as they were pushed down another interconnecting river a spot of dry land appeared almost calling for them.

Laughing at their sudden luck, Jim fought the current making sure Claire who was still unconscious didn't go under once more."Hang in there." he muttered just out of reach from the edge."We're almost there." he said, ducking under as a wave passed over causing him to nearly losing his hold Claire. Grabbing her wrist tightly, he grabbed onto the edge and got his arm up and over. Not letting go over her, he climbed almost entirely up before pulling her up as well. His joy of making it to the land was cut short when he saw she was still unconscious and still not breathing. He still felt a pulse so she was alive but worried that she'd need CPR, which was to his mother's disappointment, something he didn't know how to do. Yes, he knew the basics but had never had to perform it on anyone. Still, he had to try. Plugging her nose and opening her mouth, he breathed in two long breathes. Quickly he pulled away and pushed down on her chest twice. Not sure if he was doing anything he tried once more, pushing down harder.

"Come on Claire," he prayed pushing down again and again waiting and hoping she'd be okay. Never one to go down without a fight, Claire convulsed upwards, vomiting a water and saliva mixture, most of which landed on Jim. He didn't seem to notice, just relieved she was okay. But just as it typically went for them, the second he assumed they were finally safe, they weren't. Something hard hit against his head and his world went black entirely.

. . .

"Are they them?"

"No,"

"I think you killed them Ess,"

"She didn't,"

"I did! No, I'm horrible! Momma and Dad will be so-"

"Estelle shut up. They're not dead okay."

"Then what are they?"

"Ya, and why do they look like mom and dad?"

"Why do you people assume I have all the answers?"

"Cause you're the oldest!"

"Ya!"

"Well I'm sorry but I-ssshhh I think they're waking up."

The sound of crackling wood along with the ringing that wouldn't spot playing in his ears drowned out the bickering voices. The first thing he saw was the ceiling of a small cave. The sound of gushing water was still present ut not as loud, letting him know they were near the source but far away. The air was moist but at the same time dry, the cold freezing his skin and reminding him of the Fall. The ground was hard and could feel dried mud along with crisp leaves under him. Glancing beside him, he saw Claire, still asleep but luckily breathing.

The next thing to catch his attention was faint murmurs coming from high pitched voices. Sitting himself up he felt his jaw unhinge seeing five small children, or children and two teens. Two boys and three girls. They were all frail and sitting in a way, watching them intently that you'd only suspect to see in a horror movie. The unhealthiest looked to be the tallest and whoa so looked to oldest. She was sitting with a nine-year-old boy on her lap. Beside her was another girl who looked about 12 perhaps 13. Crisscrossed was the final boy who appeared to be 11. The final child was another girl who was right in front of the fire, staring at him with wide wholesome eyes.

"What the hell," Jim asked, feeling like he were in some horror movie. While all of the children remained still he could her Claire shifting beside him. He wanted to turn to check on her but it was as if the children whose eyes were all a variety of colors had him hypnotized or under some spell.

"Estelle quite it." the oldest muttered to the 13-year-old girl next to her. Looking at the 13-year old whose name was Estelle he saw she had a mix between brown and red hair, brown dominating. Her eyes were serious but at the same time innocent, a blue shade that was just tempting grey. She was skinny like all the others and her face seemed thinned out. She was wearing quite formal wear, actually, all were which seemed surprising if you took into a count how beat up they looked. Her outfit which must've been an indigo blue knee-length dress before had been cut and tattered to end below her waist and underneath she was wearing only nylon tights and over those grey stockings and beat up black mary janes. She shivered but seemed sued to it, her only warmth provided by a white, at that point almost entirely brown, mini dress coat that had a variety of holes, causing it to provide little warmth.

Estelle sniffled, not turning away from Jim, almost too unable to as he was to her." I-I can't," she cried weakly, tears beginning to run down her pale freckled cheeks. As she cried Jim suddenly felt quite sad, memories of his father flooding back for some reason. he'd pushed most memories of the man away but had a few he'd hung onto. Some of his best memories were o that one year he played soccer. He was never any good but stuck with it because he loved him and his father's tradition of getting ice cream after tha game even though he hadn't had lunch yet. It was small memories like that that caused him to actually missed his father. He had never realized he might've missed the guy eh happened to share a name with.

The oldest's face became serious, reaching a hand from under the nine-year-old and grasping Estelle's shoulder quite firmly as if she were in pain." Estelle stop it. Now." she ordered as if she were dealing with memories she'd rather forget just as Jim was.

Estelle's clouded eyes blinked once then twice, the girl gasping in what seemed like relief as she and Jim finished their staring contest of sorts. The girl seemed to notice her older sister's glare and fiddled with her own fingers."I'm sorry, you know I can't help it."

The oldest sighed as if she understood but showed zero remorse on her face, letting go of the girl's shoulder." It doesn't matter," she said sternly, returning her gaze to Jim. The oldest was by far the worst appearing, not in looks but in health status. Her face seemed like nothing but bone and skin was sickly white, only enhanced by her jet black, wavy hair that was helped back out of her face by a red elastic band that seemed to have been through just as much stuff as she had. Though he couldn't' see the rest of her, he could tell unlike the other's her body was also quite thin, leading him to expect she wasn't getting as much food as the rest were. She too was dressed or had seemed to have been dressed fancy. Her outfit was now were as fancy as Estell's, black leggings down splattered with dit holes and mud, a light pink top that's long sleeves flared out and was cut with a slight low V, that was just as the pants, dirty. Her shirt that was thing material provided no actual warmth, but the knitted turquoise sweater that opened in the front did, providing some warmth to her and the nine-year-old. Around her neck was a simple firefly necklace that made the rest of her look dull as it shimmered in the light the fire cast. But what he noticed most was her eyes. The light blue ocean eyes were so familiar. Like he knew them.

"Cassidy?" he asked, unsure why he was asking such a thing since the Cassidy he knew was a three-month-old baby. But the 15-year-old girl's reaction shocked him as she twitched hearing him say her name, acting as if it were a curse.

"Cassie," Claire called out, beginning to wake up. All of the children's eyes darted towards hers while Jim's remained on the girl who had confirmed she was his daughter with a simple twitch. Her brown eyes shot open and she sat up much too fast, still recovering from nearly drowning and getting hit on the head twice(first when she hit the water and the second when Estelle hit her). She looked right past the children with a worried expression." Cass, Jim where's Cassie?!" she questioned frantically.

All of the kids started laughing, well all but Cassidy who just moaned."You here that Cassie, you're missing." the elven year boy teased. He had short jet black hair with white streaks at the tips, natural not dyed. His eyes were round and a deep chestnut color. His face was skinny and lanky but by the way, he was structured it looked that even when healthy he was on the skinnier side of the spectrum. He too was dressed in, muddy run-down clothes. He wore black dress pants, holes at the knees, and by the ankle. Not tucked in was a white dress shirt that was stained with not only mud but a few platters of blood. Clothe bandages were around his right hand, blood visible from the outside alone.

"Shut up Jaime," she responded angrily, taking a deep breath before continuing."And won't you all be quiet. If Lurge hears us-"

"Whose Lurge?" Claire questioned, dizzying herself as she got up onto her knees and fumbled towards Jim."And where are we? Who are you? Where's Cassidy? And how-"

"Momma why you don't remember us?" the youngest of the bunch asked. She looked five, possibly four. Her hair was short and messy bangs crossed her forehead, all a light red. Her small pink lips turned into a pout and her brown eyes grew saddened. Out of all the children, she seemed the healthiest, but even healthy wasn't good, her skin pale, face thinned out and bony at the shoulders and practically every other joint. She was dressed in a bright pink dress that was in the best shape out of all of their outfits, though mud still splattered the bottom and a large-holed was around the back. Her legs were covered by small black heels and white tights, all decimated.

Claire's jaw became loose as she turned to Jim for answers then back at the children, specifically Cassidy. Just as Jim did, she recognized those eyes. The eyes she fell in love with after seeing the first vision of her." I-I..."

"Because that's not Momma and Daddy, Emi." the nine-year-old said quite straight forward before frowning, burrowing his face into his oldest sister's sweater." They're gone," he said quietly, sadly just loud enough Jim and claire heard, causing their entire worlds to crash.

The room grew sad, everyone becoming dead silent. Cassidy grunted, gripping Estelle's shoulder again." Quite. It." she managed to see between gritted teeth. Jim wondered by each time she'd spoken directly to Estelle, did she have some control of their emotions. And if so he only wondered what Cassidy was seeing or feeling. That time instead of realizing feelings he didn't know existed, feelings surrounding his father, he was reminded of the loss of his father and how losing a father figure impacted his life. If all the children were thinking of him, why did her's seem so much more painful? Cassidy exhaled, releasing her shoulder and twitching in her seat on the floor again." I saw this," she started, Jim and Claire taking a second to realize what she meant."It wasn't as clear as usual but in the end, you both were..." she fell silent. A distant almost silent groans interrupting them all." Lurge." she said hoarsely, gently pushing the nine-year-old off her lap."Quick," she ordered, taking a second longer to get up than the rest.

Jaime took a bowl of after, stop the flames in motion, the sizzling sound echoing through the cave. Cassid glared at him." Sorry," he cried quietly, turning towards Jim and Claire as he grabbed a box and place it on a small wagon that could only fit about three people."Come on," he whispered to them gesturing for them to hurry up as the kids quickly finished adding the cart with fours small boxes hat seemed to contain dried, possibly old food, tattered blankets and that was practically it.

"What's going on?" Jim asked, being shushed by all of the children.

"That monster I assume you fought," Cassidy said, grunting as she bent over and helped Emila and the nine-year-old boy whose name was Aron, not the cart. Jim raised an eyebrow, mind still bottled by the fact the was in his future daughter's presence, while his current daughter was somewhere else. Cassidy frowned, grasping the cart and beginning to push it deeper into the cave."The big hairy monster that needs to see the dentist"

Claire snorted, though it was received with no amusement from the kids."We've done more than meet him." she said, frowning when she saw Emilia hiding under Aron as Lurges growl grew closer and closer.

"So that's Lurge?" Jim asked, just too loud he was reprimanded once more to be quiet."Sorry,"

"It's fine," Cassidy assured him, stopping the cart once they made it behind a stack of rocks."Yes, that's Lurge. In the time we've been out here he's the only wildlife we've become across." Helping Aaron down, Jaime sat beside Estelle, Cassidy setting Meilia how as silently crying won onto her. Witha have heave pushed the cart so it too would be hidden by the stack. She then signaled for them to sit beside her.

"The only wildlife?" Claire asked shocked since from the chasms they seemed to be in California and California had much wildlife. She waited a heartbeat before adding another question onto the other one, unsure whether or not she wanted to hear the answer."How long have you been out here?"

"Ya nothing but Lurge," Aron said, sounding like he'd attempted a joke but inevitably failed. Aron seemed small for his age but fisty. His hair was dark brown and eyes the same. In anatomy, he seemed the opposite of his older brother, being shorter and slightly stockier. He seemed relatively healthy, a cold it seemed at the moment with a running nose and his face wasn't thinned about but nowhere as close to Cassidy's. He was wearing dress pants the same now muddy black as his brothers and his dress shirt was deep blood red, stained with dirt.

"To answer your other question we've been out here for 5 months and 1 week," Cassidy answered surprisingly precisely.

"How do you know it so exactly?" he questioned, scooting closer to them all as Lurge's groans grew only louder.

Cassidy turned pale, well paler than she already was."Um the day we got-" she fell silent as Lurge's footsteps could be heard outside of the cave." It's okay," she cooed, trying to help her younger siblings. Jim felt a tingling of pride that was overrun for his own children. Emilia, scooted out of Estelle's lap and gently into Claire's, wiping her tears on her shirt."Shh," Cassidy said, trying to get Aron to quiet his sniffles.

Claire smiled slightly, feeling so comfortable cradling the five-year-old, something she hadn't even gotten the do with her own daughter. Then she remembered Cassidy."Jim she-"

"Your Cass is fine," Cassidy assured them with a sweet smile."Seer." she reminded them, noticing their confused expressions.

"I thought being a seer meant you could only see that future," Claire said, rubbing Emilia's back.

As she nodded Cassidy twitched again. She waited to make sure Lurge wasn't around or not right in front of the cave before explaining."I can but depending on the clear it is, I'm able to hear the person's thoughts during the vision. It doesn't happen often but when I was younger I remember seeing you and dad being relieved when you saw Gran holding me. Your thoughts in it confused me but now they make sense."

"Wow," Jim said, noticing something else different about this Cassidy."Where's your breathing tube?" he asked, becoming concerned.

Cassidy sighed."I'm fine."

"Ya, she just can't go on a rollercoaster or any ride really, run too fast, play fight isn't really supposed to go underwater," Estelle grinned mischievously towards her older sister."Shall I go on?"

"No. I think they get the picture."

"Hey I think we're good," Jaime announced, standing up and peering over the stack. It had been a minute since any noise from Lurge and according to the kids, that was an all good.

"But seriously," Jim said as they stood up, Cassidy setting Aaron in the cart while Claire did the same with Emilia."Why don't you have it?"

Cassidy frowned."I don't need it all of the time. Sometimes I still have attacks but I've gotten better at breathing on my own." she said, buttoning up her sweater.

"Have you had any recently?" he asked, recalling how bad her first real attack had been hours prior.

She shrugged."Nothing and I guess just small ones." From the corner of his eyes, he could see Estelle giving her sister a worried look. Cassidy shook it away, pushing the cart forward."We have to move since Lurge will catch onto where we are soon."

"Where to this time?" Aron asked arm around Emilia who was yawning sleepily.

"The woods," Cassidy announced, Jaime and Estelle seeming shocked by this answer.

"Now?"

"Now."

"What's so bad about the woods?" Claire asked as they made it to where they'd first seen the kids. The fire had completely died down, all embers but one nothing but black coal.

"It's been a while since we've resurfaced. As we said Lurge is the only animal life we've seen in months and he's been hunting us down for some reason so we have to move. His layer is up the river so it's better to be in the woods but it's almost winter and there are fewer places like caves that are dry." she explained.

"Maybe we should wait till morning.' Jaime suggested but Cassidy shook her head.

"No." she stated, lighting a branch on fire with the last bright ember." We go now."

Sorry if you preferred the other future I had set up but I decided to change it because with the way time travel works in this universe, what I planned with the other timeline, just wouldn't make sense. I won't be doing what I did again I sware and you can expect the next chapter tommorrow.
