Holly gently pulled the bobby pins out of her hair, letting her soft curls tickle the sides of her face.

"You look amazing sis!" Poppy squealed. "Daring is going to be stunned when he sees you."

"I hope so" Holly said. "I'm kinda nervous."

"Don't be; you're an amazing girl and remember, he asked you out. If that doesn't convey interest, I don't what does!"

Poppy sighed. "You're right. It's just... I've liked this boy since freshmen year."

"And now he's basically your boyfriend."

Holly squeaked. Poppy laughed. "You are precious."

There was a knock.

"Coming!" Poppy sang out.

She opened the door, not at all surprised to see a flustered Daring clinging to a bouquet of daffodils like his life depended on it.

"Holly! You look ravishing! May I please come in?"

His smooth speech didn't fool Poppy for a second; his flushed face and death grip on the flowers betrayed him. He was far more nervous than Holly was.

"Come on in Daring'" she said. "I'll put those daffodils in some water. You kids have fun."

She watched Daring nervously grab Holly's hand and walk towards the door.

Poppy smiled and wiped a crocodile's tear from her eye. "They grow up so fast."
