CHAPTER 3

Even after the 7th try Harvey still couldn't manage to tie his tie properly, it needed to be like every other day. It needed to be normal tied. Donna would easily realise something was up and call him out, but he just couldn't manage to make it right.

Frustrated he throwed the Tie on the ground, it didn't work at all. First Harvey thought about calling Mike, but since Mike doesn't even wear good ties he wasn't an option. Rachel? No he couldn't ask Rachel, he was pretty sure Rachel never actually had anything to do with ties... Louis.

--

This was humiliating, Louis was far from someone Harvey trusted and or liked. Still, Harvey just called him to his apartment because of a work-imergancy. He was not even sure what he was supposed to say to Louis, hey I just called you here so you could tie my tie properly, because I am to nervous to do it myself?

He did not want to tell Louis he was trying to get Donna to go out with him, nor did he wanted Louis in his apartment. It was bad enough that they shared the same dentist.

What if Louis told anybody this...

Before Harvey could prepere himself for probably the akwardest situation in his whole life, Louis already knocked. Harvey was sure Louis lterly rushed here as fast as he could, because he didn't even need 10 minutes to come here.

Harvey took his last deep breath and then opened the door.

"Harvey, I came as fast as I could!" Louis said enthusiastically.

"Yeah, come in" Harvey answered as dull as he could.

"Why did you want me to come?"

"Can you help me tie my tie?" Blurted Harvey out, it probably was better to get it over with.

"What?"

"Tie my tie."

Louis looked extremly confused, Harvey would have laughed if he wasn't that abashed about this whole situation.

"I thought this was about work?"

"Well it isn't could you please?" He held his tie into Louis direction.

"Okay I an confused, why don't you just ask Donna?"

Shit."I would, but she didn't pick up his phone." He lied.

"Oh weird, why cant you do it yourself?"

"Louis!" Harvey pleaded.

Another minute went by where Louis looked to him clearly thinking, trying to understand. Then he stepped forward and began to tie Harvey tie, while Harvey shamefaced looked to his left.

After Louis was finished and content with his tie work he stepped back.

"Thanks" with a crumbiling voice.

Louis just looked like someone gave him cake, he was clearly happy about Harvey calling him for help.

Finally, after Harvey decided this whole thing was unconftorble enough and he wanted to step back, Louis plunged in his direction and hugged him.

Harvey wanted to dissapear. Yeah he wanted to make everything right with Donna, wanted it to be perfect but this was too much. His whole body tried to escape from Louis hug, unsuccessful.

Finally, after probably several akward minutes Louis stepped back again, with the biggest smile Harvey ever saw on his colleague.

"Okay, can you please not tell anybody this ever happend?"

"Of course, we are like secret tie-brothers" Louis grinned.

He definitely should have called Mike, this was a nightmare.

--

Donna stepped outside of the coffe shop with two identical coffe cups. One splash vanilla and two sugars. A slim smile tugged on her lips, she had a great day, she had yesterday a yoga class after work and after that her and some friends went to a karaoke bar. And today was friday and for a change she didn't need to come in tomorrow, so she would have a full weekend to herself.

As she stepped into the elevator, she greeted a extremly gleefull Louis Litt.

"Louise did something happend you seem extremly jolly?"

"No just had a good start into the morning!" He said.

"I am happy for you Louis" Donna said while she now stepped out of the elevator heading to her cubical. She didn't knew why Louis was so happy, but she decided to not question it.

To her suprise Harvey already sat on his desk, he looked deep in thoughts, but Donna couldn't really make out what was it. Something was off with Harvey and she had now clue. His tie seemed normal, what normally meant everything was okay. But Donna couldn't shake the feeling that she misses something.

"Do you know whats up with Louis today?" Donna asked while she placed one of the coffee cups on his desk.

"What?" Harvey asked and she sweared she could see a hint of his freak-out face.

"Louis, he seems very satisfied with himself, if I wouldn't know it better I would say he got laid last night!"

Harvey's face clouded while he tried not to spit out the coffee that he just drunk. She could see that Harvey knew more about Louis mood that he tried to show, she saw something she could indetify as regret on his face.

"Wait a minute, you are early what means you needed to get your mind off, Louis seems like its his birthday and you look like someone just killed your dog. Something between you and Louis happend!"

"I don't wanna talk about it" Harvey muttered.

"Omg Louis did get laid, you know you don't need to hide your sexsuality from me, I dont judge!" Donna now teased him with one quirked eyebrow.

"I think you know my sexsual preferences" Harvey now looked at her bluntly with his typical cocky grin.

Donna blushed slightly, his flirts got more aggressive over the last week and that again was something she couldn't put together. Before she could make a comment, to remind him that this was something they were not talking about, Mike stolled into the office.

So Donna excused herself and sat down on her cubical to get to work.

--

After a relatively boring foremoon, Donna was sitting in the firms kitchen drinking a Coffe out of one 'you just got LITT UP' cups. Rachel and her just came back from their lunch brake and Rachel insisted they would use the time they had left for a coffee brake. Like they did often. Especially when one of them had something to tell.

"So you and Mike..." Donna began suggestive.

"I make him work hard" she confessed.

"So you did, already?" Donna asked supried.

"Oh god no!" Rachel chuckled slightly "I mean I let him pay for what he did..."

Donna just gave her another look.

"Okay I get it I don't make it better... What I mean is I am not letting him get me that easily, we are taking it slow." Rachel explained to her still smiling best friend.

Harvey entered the kitchen, again something he doesn't do, he never makes himself coffee. Donna can see him move to the kitchen counter, take the vanilla syrup, splashing one splash into his coffe cup.

"Did I interupt something?" He asked cheekily.

"No no" Rachel answered.

"But you want something" Donna concluded.

"It thats so?"

"Yes"

"Well then, what do you do tommorow?" He asked her.

"Nothing and dont you dare take my free day away, I am not going into the office tommorow!"

"Good, So you are free tomorrow?"

"Yes, its my free day" she repeated.

"I know this great Restaurant and I wanted to test it...would you come with me?" Harvey asked, his heart was now trambeling against his rip cage.

Donna tried to ignore the warm feeling in her tummy. She knew this was not him asking for a date, she wasn't getting any hopes up.

"Okay but you pay!"

He had now a very satisfied smile on his face.

"Okay its a Date! I'll pick you up at 5 tomorrow!"

And then he left.

Donna's mouth gape now open. Did he say 'its a date?' or was she delusional. This couldn't be right, he was probably just joking. In her head were now plany of thoughts that made her heart beat raise. How was she supposed to shield her heart if he didn't even get what he just implicated?

She completely forgot that her best friend still sat besides her and as she finally looked up into Rachel's direction she saw the wide smirk on her face.

"Rachel he didn't mean it like that!" Donna said now cranky.

"Oh he did!"

"No Rachel we are friends!"

"Things can change..." Rachel said looking to innocent for Donnas liking.

"Wait, you know something!"

"it's a date" Rachel said still smirking.

"Rachel, please don't make this harder" donna pleaded.

"He told me, Donna believe me, its a date" Rachel assured her.

"How" Was all Donna could get out of her mouth, her head was now spinning. She wasn't sure how to act, she did thought about many what if's over the years, but this. This was so far from the reality that she thought was true and it left her a bit dumb-struck.

"I honestly dont really know, but I think he talked to his brother about how he... feels and then..." Rachel tried to declare Donna.

"This is a mistake! I need to talk to him, this could ruin everything" Donna was now far from upset, how could he think this is in anyway funny. This played with Donna's life, he knows her rule!

"Donna I think he is really serious about this!"

"Rachel I can't to this!" Donna said now near tears.

"But you want to dont you?" Rachel asked.

"Yes but I cant to this Rach"

"You said you wouldn't miss a opportunity..." Rachel now reminded her.

"Oh my god how could I be so blind? Thats why you and Harvey had your meet up!" Donna now realised and she couldn't deny that it hurt her, how could Rachel keep this from her? She never told her how deep her feelings really went, but she must know that this was not a joke to her.

"I am sorry Donna, but he seems to genuinely want this and I wasn't gonna refuse him!"

"Why not?"

"Because I know you do want to be with him even if you run scared right now."

"I am scared, I don't know if I can live without him..." Donna confessed.

"Just, look, give him a chance and believe me if I say this date is going to be the best date you ever had..."

Donna managed a small smile.

--

She stared at the ceiling, the curtens darkened the room, but New York was always full of lights, a few strands of light stole through her curtens. Since midday, since he asked her out, she couldn't get him out of her mind. At all. She would go out with Harvey Specter, the Harvey, who was her boss, her friend...

The one she loved, for now several years. The one who made her crazy, but made her knees weak with a single pout, a look. The only person who ever made her wordless.

she wanted to be with him, that wasn't even debatable. But was he ready, was she ready? what would come? She knew that if they would manage to be together, if he would be ready, that something could come out of it that would surpass anything before. Just the thought triggered an immense feeling of happiness in her, suddenly she had something that she had not allowed herself to think for a long time related to them. Hope. This was the one man she wanted and she knew this wouldn't be easy.

But maybe, maybe the fact that he had asked Rachel for help. That he had told Rachel that he was sure, that he had overlooked her rule. maybe he was ready. Most important; he wanted it and together they have done everything so far. And Donna decided she wasn't going to miss this opportunity, she was all in. She always was and she knew in her heart she always will be.

To be continued...

--

Okay please let me know what you you think!

I wanted to make this chapter longer but I wanted the date in a separate chapter... I am here also not so satisfied... But I am actually okay with this. I first wanted Harvey to ask her out in a more "Do you want to go out with me" way, but I honestly feel like he does not have the balls. I also thought it would be funny to make a Louis and Harvey moment, because its always hilarious. I do not think that Harvey would have called Louis, especially not back then but I decided it was th best way that came to my mind. Also I dont think the LITT UP cups were a thing back then but anyways.

I also thought about maybe bringing an actual case into the story because it would make it maybe more interesting? But this story is lowkey about Harvey and Donna and I did not want to take this between, since these two are slow enough. Still there might come some chase action in future chapters... I am not sure. Also I don't know how long this will go and how many chapters this will bring.
