Day 3's story has arrived! And this one's a little spicy ;) Enjoy.
NOTE: ALL SONIC CHARACTERS BELONG TO SEGA.
Black Knight
SHHHIIINNNG!
Shadow watched his sword soar through the air before falling to the ground, the blade sinking into the earth. Blinking a couple of times, the Ultimate Lifeform stared at the blade then turned to his sparring partner, a look of complete disbelief on his face.
"How?"
Sonic chuckled as he gripped Caliburn. "Surprised I still know how to wield you after all these years?" he asked the sacred sword while his husband went to retrieve his blade.
"Yes. And I'm amazed how you still behave like a child," Caliburn retorted, but there was no denying the warm tone present in the sword's voice.
Sonic grinned and gracefully swung Caliburn about as he gave Shadow some pointers. "Your feet move parallel to how you swing. Keep your stance wide and your body lowered," he said then rushed at Shadow, who blocked his downward strike.
"Nice block. But," Sonic's green eyes glinted with mischief. "you're not holding that sword properly," he stated, noticing the awkward position of his husband's arms as they held the blade almost horizontal.
Again, Shadow was disarmed. "Oh, for the love of Chaos…" the black hedgehog muttered as his sword flew through the air again.
The sword had fallen just a few feet from where his medieval doppelganger was watching. And Shadow could feel Sir Lancelot's stare even as the black knight wore his visor. He shook his head and picked up his sword, trotting back to Sonic.
This whole thing still felt rather surreal. Being transported into the world of the Arthurian legends he and Maria used to read about, finding out that Sonic had been here before, and discovering that he, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Blaze, Silver, and, surprisingly, Jet had counterparts in this land was already enough to make his head spin.
Then a talking sword told him and the rest of the team that Sonic was, apparently, the king of this storybook world.
When Sonic had told him about it the first time, before they got together, he'd chalked it up to his former rival having had one too many chili dogs that led to a lucid dream.
Now here he was, in Camelot with Amy, Sticks, Tails, Knuckles, and Faith, and being taught the art of sword fighting by his husband.
Amy, Knuckles, and Tails were with their respective counterparts, probably doing the same thing he was doing right now. Sticks had gone out with Merlina to find medicinal herbs in the woods. And Galahad and Percival were accompanying Faith on her "expedition" to explore Camelot Town. Shadow had been hesitant to let her go with the two knights, even though they resembled two of his and Sonic's friends, but Sonic had reassured him that Galahad and Percival could handle it.
"I've gone on some quests with them before. They'll definitely be able to keep up with Faith. Knights do not tire so easily, babe," he had told him with a wink.
As he and Sonic continued their training, Shadow glanced back at Sir Lancelot from time to time. The mightiest of all the Knights of the Round Table stood as still as a statue and was silent as a stone. Every now and then, he would turn his head just slightly to watch Sonic parry and strike back at Shadow's steadily improving attacks. And there was always a slight smile on the knight's lips whenever Sonic threw a quip out as the two of them sparred.
It made Shadow want to challenge Lancelot to show just who exactly Sonic pledged his allegiance to.
He must have been glaring at Lancelot because Sonic harrumphed and lightly tapped the flat of Caliburn's blade saying, "Hey, eyes forward, Shads. Your opponent's over here."
Shadow's ears lowered a little, betraying his sheepishness. Sonic raised his hand, signaling that they needed to stop. For a minute, the blue hedgehog looked at Shadow, one eyebrow arched, then at Lancelot who was unperturbed. Putting two and two together, he smiled.
'Looks like someone's a little jealous,' he thought before facing Lancelot. "Hey, Lance, you can take a break if you want. Shadow and I can spar unsupervised," he called out to the knight.
Lancelot bowed his head. "My liege, forgive me, but I do not wish to leave you here in the castle unprotected," he said, the first words he had spoken in the last two hours.
Sonic hummed, putting a hand to his chin. Then he spotted a rock about the size of a hen's egg near his feet and got an idea. He picked up the rock and whistled as he tossed it into the air and caught it, throwing it up higher with every toss.
"What are you planning?" Caliburn asked him before Sonic threw the rock up in an arc that guaranteed it was going to hit him right on the head.
"Sire!" Lancelot shouted and started running towards Sonic. But Shadow caught the rock before it made contact with his husband's head. And, just to flex, he crushed it in his hand until dust sifted through his fingers.
"My hero," Sonic praised, kissing Shadow's cheek. Turning to Lancelot, he grinned. "See, Lance? I'm protected," he told the knight.
Lancelot glanced at Shadow, the Ultimate Lifeform grinning smugly at him. "If you are certain, Sire…" he began.
"Very certain. Besides, weren't you supposed to go meet someone in town earlier? I heard from Galahad that a certain trader named Nicholas was coming here…" Sonic said, smiling mischievously as he saw Lancelot's cheeks go scarlet.
Shadow's eyebrows raised as his counterpart bowed to Sonic, who said, "Go on, Lance. You deserve a break."
"Th-thank you, Sire. I shall return shortly," Lancelot stuttered.
"No, no, take as much time as you need. I'm sure you and Nicholas have much to discuss," Sonic told him, waving Lancelot off.
With a quick bow, Lancelot left the couple alone. Shadow looked at Sonic, brushing the dust off of his gloves. "You planned this, didn't you?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Only the rock ploy. Nicholas is real. I heard from Galahad that his old man's been courting this guy for a couple of years now. They've been writing letters to each other back and forth, and Lancelot goes on daily patrols in Camelot Town whenever Nicholas is there," Sonic informed him, laughing softly.
Shadow nodded slowly before freezing as Sonic gently cupped his cheek in his hand. His eyes closed as plush peach lips pressed against his. Dropping his sword, he wrapped his arms around his husband's waist and pulled him closer. Sonic let him tilt his head to deepen the kiss, moaning softly as Shadow's tongue snaked its way into his mouth.
Oh, yeah… Now he knew why a knight would be rewarded with a kiss from a lady in some tournaments. Getting a kiss from your love after a grueling battle? Totally worth it.
"BY THE POPE!"
The two hedgehogs sprang apart, leaving a thin string of saliva between them, at Caliburn's bellowing. Sonic sweatdropped and scratched the back of his head as Caliburn angrily hopped up and down.
"If thou are going to lock lips instead of swords then take me to the blacksmith's, and take thy cavorting to thy private chambers!" Caliburn ordered hotly.
"Sorry! Got lost in the moment there," Sonic mumbled, taking up the annoyed blade while Shadow did the same. "Resuming our lesson right now," he announced before he and Shadow resumed sparring.
Shadow smirked as he parried and countered with a few well-placed slashes of his own. "I think I'm getting the hang of this," he told Sonic, who grinned.
"We'll see about that."
It was like a dance, a furious passionate tango, as steel clashed against steel. The couple was in sync, their steps mirroring each other, and their eyes were aflame as they sneaked amorous gazes at each other as their swords met again and again. They whirled about in a blur of black and blue, thrusting, parrying, riposting, blocking, swinging…
Until the two were just a breath apart, their swords locked as they pushed against each other.
"Good." Sonic grunted, feeling Shadow's longsword pushing against Caliburn. "The trick now… is how to make your opponent lose his balance," he said.
Shadow's ruby eyes flashed and he smirked. Without warning, he twirled out of Sonic's way and got behind him then gently rubbed a blue tail. Sonic squeaked, Caliburn slipping out of his grasp, giving Shadow an opportunity to pin his arms behind his back.
"It seems I've knocked you out of balance," Shadow whispered, dropping his own sword to gently caress the lithe blue body in his grasp.
"Using ah… an underhanded tactic…" Sonic panted as Shadow's free hand reached up to massage his chest. "N-Not very chivalrous of you, Sh-Shadow…"
"I'm a bit of a rogue," Shadow chuckled, pressing kisses to his husband's neck.
It took another tirade from Caliburn to snap the two out of their lusty haze. To the sword's great relief, he was immediately taken to the blacksmith's for maintenance. Meanwhile, with most of the castle staff busy and their friends out until early evening, a laughing Sonic and a grinning Shadow sprinted to the king's private chambers for a little fun.
Can we get an F in the chat for Caliburn who has to witness these two lovehogs flirt? :D
