Thanks for the reviews, sorry for the cliffhanger I know I hate them as well but I knew it wouldn't be long for a new update plus at work and sitting in traffic I had a lot of time to brainstorm the storyline. There's a little bit of everyone in here. Enjoy!

The ambulance seemed like it was never going to come, Frankie had tried to stop Jane's bleeding, once the M.E. came to get the body parts of Jasmine's latest victim. He helped Frankie the best he could to try and stop the bleeding, Jane groaned out, her vision was fading, all she could try to do is steady her breathing, thinking of Camille and how this must have been how she felt when she was shot. I'm going to die, was all she could focus on.

"Hey Jane, stay with me okay? It's gonna be alright, you're stronger than you know," Frankie looked like all hope was lost even though he had to comfort his sister. When the ambulance finally showed up the paramedics put Jane on the gurney, he went with the paramedics, the M.E. saying he would finish up so Frankie could be there for his sister.

The ride to the hospital was pure agony, Jane's vitals were checked, they put a mask over her face for oxygen. "Looks like her right lung has been punctured, and the other bullet is lodged near her spine, but by the looks of it she won't be paralyzed, which is a good sign. But there might be some pain and numbness in other joints."

Frankie felt sick as the paramedic explained the injuries, "She's going to be alright?"

"She'll be in pain for a while, but she will survive this," the paramedic nodded. Frankie sighed, thinking that he should have done more to help Jane, he knew how Jane felt when she wasn't able to protect Camille, he felt miserable and completely useless.

Soon after they had arrived to the hospital and Jane was taken in for surgery. Frankie's hands were shaking as he decided to stay outside to get some fresh air. He hated hospitals and he hated all the times that Jane had to be sent here. He heard a ringing of a cell phone, he pulled it out of his pocket, he couldn't remember when he took Jane's phone. When he seen that it was Maura he froze. How in the hell was he supposed to explain this to her. He answered it and before he could speak Maura spoke.

"Jane, it's been over an hour and you haven't come home yet, is everything okay?" she asked in a soft voice and Frankie felt like he was going to be sick.

"I uh... this is Frankie," he sat down on a bench outside. "Maura..." he couldn't even speak any other words.

"Frankie? Is Jane okay? Why are you answering her phone, I thought she was just going out for fresh air," she rattled off her concerns.

"I called her earlier to help me inspect a crime scene... Jasmine left a message and I just... I don't think I can explain it over the phone. She just went into surgery, the paramedic said she should be fine."

He heard Maura pause and he could tell that she was starting to cry, especially with her tone of voice and the sniffling. "I- I'll be there as fast as I can." She ended the call abruptly.

Frankie hated all of this, it wasn't supposed to happen. He dailed a number and the person picked up almost right away.

"Hey Frankie, how is the operation working out?"

"Well it's not good, not for Jane anyways... luckily enough I had the equipment. I kept it on at all times like you asked just in case shit went down. There was a crime scene Jasmine conducted, I knew Jane needed to see it, and then she came and surprised me and Jane along with her accomplice, someone that I didn't expect. Stuff went down and then she got shot at. We got a confession though, she wasn't aware she was being recorded on tape. It wasn't an FBI agent that was involved with her, it was the Lieutenant."

"Damn Frankie, I don't like the sound of that, I apparently shouldn't have left Boston PD. When you told me all that was going on I was glad I was able to help. Maura is going to be clear of all charges, right?" Sean Cavanaugh asked.

"Yeah, Jane had no idea what we planned, it was hard trying to hide things from her," he ran his fingers through his hair. "We lost both Lieutenant and Jasmine though. They vanished as soon as I could react to them shooting Jane."

"I'm going to be on the first plane to Boston. We'll get them, Frankie, I promise. Is Jane... is she going to be okay?"

"Paramedics said she will be fine, as fine as she could be getting shot at twice. I just know she's going to wake up furious. I don't even know if she was aware they vanished, but she won't be happy."

"I'll keep you up to date on my whereabouts and any intel I get," Sean Cavanaugh hung up and Frankie sighed and called the next person he knew he needed to.

"Hey Frost, I need you to put a BOLO on Jasmine Fischer and Lieutenant Anthony," Frankie softly demanded.

"Um why Frankie, they are right here with Jasmine's lawyer at the precinct in Anthony's office."

"Shit, really? Try to keep them there as long as possible. I'll be there as soon as I can. It's important that they don't leave your sight, and please be careful. They are willing to hurt anyone."

"Care to explain what's going on?" Frost asked.

"I'll explain later, just make sure they don't leave, it's vital," he hung up the phone and looked at the hospital building, slumping his shoulders, sending Cavanaugh a quick text that they are at Boston PD, but he is still welcome to fly up and assist in this whole case. Before he went to go enter the hospital Maura rushed up towards him. "You got here pretty fast."

"I was already out driving when I called Jane's phone," her eyes were red and puffy. "How did this all happen Frankie?"

Frankie took a deep breath and explained what happened, from his and Cavanaugh's plan to what happened in the warehouse. "I just, I really hate to leave you but Frost can probably only hold them so long at the precinct. Those bastards are going to get what they deserve, I promise Maura," he rested his hand on her shoulder, "Mind if I borrow your car? I rode here in the ambulance."

Maura nodded and handed him her car keys, she went inside as soon as she notice him drive off. She got inside to the receptionist's desk. "I'm here to check in on my wife Jane Rizzoli-Isles, she recently went into surgery," she managed to get out, not without a sob.

The woman nodded and typed into her computer, "Yeah, she's still in surgery, might be an hour before she's transported to recovery. Feel free to take a seat, I'll call you when she's ready." Maura silently retreated to a seat, her head falling into her hands, trying to hold back the tears, but that failed as they fell down her cheeks. She couldn't believe how things went from bad to worse. She had Cailin watching the twins, she didn't want them to be dealing with this whole thing and if they joined her at the hospital she knew how upset they'd be. Jane always ended up getting hurt or shot at, each time it broke Maura's heart more and more. She didn't know how much more of this that she could take.

Jane opened her eyes and looked at where she was, it was bright and everything was white. She tried to move but she couldn't. She heard soft footsteps, her breathing was rigid, it didn't feel cold, it felt warm.

"I haven't even been here for a week and you almost get yourself killed."

"Camille?" she asked, her voice cracked and the woman appeared. "Where am I?"

"Your subconscious."

"I didn't asked to be shot at Camille, I was trying to make sure that they got what they deserved, no one threatens my brother or Maura and think they can get away with it. Why is everything so white?"

Camille sat down next to her and shrugged, "Maybe that's how you imagine the afterlife will be like. I wanted to thank you for all you've done for me after my death, my twins probably appreciate that they won't be getting split up in foster care. You're going to miss my funeral tomorrow, you realize this? That's why I'm here I guess, so you don't feel bad for missing it."

"What I miss is you, you shouldn't be here, shouldn't be in whatever afterlife you're a part of. You were important to me, a sister I never had. You were my family and got taken away from me."

"At least you found justice for me. I miss you too, you know."

"Yeah? If I didn't have Maura I would wish I could pass on, be here with you where there's no pain or danger. Just peace. I guess it really exists?"

"It can exist in real life too you know. Maura is your peace and one day you'll have the normal life you hoped to always have," she paused and Jane could hear a beeping sound. "I think my time is up."

"W-Wait, I was trying to write a eulogy for you... I need to go to your funeral."

"What you need is to rest and hopefully you won't come back here, Maura and the twins need you more than ever," Camille kissed the top of Jane's head. "You were definitely a sister I always dreamed of having. Stay safe out there Jane."

Jane frowned as Camille stood up, "Camille, wait..." she muttered, but Camille was already gone.

Jane woke up to the sound of continuous beeping, she looked around and seen no more whiteness and she could feel her mouth feeling dry like cotton. She wasn't breathing on her own, there was a mask over her face providing oxygen. She closed her eyes, she felt numbness in her back. Once she opened her eyes again she noticed Maura sitting by her bedside. Jane wanted to talk to her, but knew that she couldn't.

Maura just looked at Jane with sad and puffy eyes, "I can't believe that this happened to you Jane. Frankie informed me of what happened, I didn't want to believe it, that you are here again. You're still alive and that brings me some relief. I'm kind of mad at you for not being honest of where you were going. You almost became paralyzed, you know? You would have hated that. You won't be able to be too active, you'll feel a lot of numbness at times, pains in your chest. I'll be here to help the whole time. Frankie called while I was waiting for your surgery to finish up, good news is they are holding Jasmine and Anthony responsible for this. The FBI is upset they trusted the Lieutenant when he was a part of this whole operation. The case against me has dropped, my license has been reinstated. Frankie had video and audio proof of the off handed confession about Jasmine killing Dean. They won't be messing with us anymore, I am actually going to be safe, I wish we could celebrate instead of you being here." She paused, "You're probably tired of me rambling. I should let you be aware though that Angela called to invite us over for dinner, I had to tell her what happened. She had a small incident, but her baby is okay, your mother just has to rest and stay in a stressfree environment. You've been out for two hours, a lot happened in that time. But now I think you're just about caught up. We all were worried about you," she squeezed her wife's hand. "Cavanaugh is also coming back to be Lieutenant, so we won't be working with anymore strangers. You'll be out of work for 8 weeks due to your injuries and recovering time."

Jane wished she could speak and she hated that she couldn't, she could hardly feel her hands. A single tear fell down her face and Maura frowned, reaching up to wipe it away.

"It's going to be alright, you know that right? That's what the doctors said, you'll be in here for a few days though. It's upsetting that you have to miss Camille's funeral, but I'm sure she would understand." All Jane could do was nod, Maura tightened her grip on Jane's hand. "I could have lost you today Jane, I don't know if I could handle that. Maybe you need a better job, and I know you'd argue if you could talk, but I hate that you aren't safe. I feel like I'm turning into Angela, but I don't know how more I could take seeing you hurt." She dropped her head and slumped her shoulders. "I can't survive this life without you Jane, and I don't want to."

Jane nodded, tears building up in her eyes, she absolutely hated how Maura was feeling, hated how she was talking. She would want nothing more for Maura to continue living her life, even if she was the first to go. Maura stood up and gave Jane a look.

"I'll be right back," she slipped out of the room and rested her head against the wall, trying to steady her breathing, she couldn't stand seeing Jane like this, so pale and so helpless.

"Hey Maura, is Jane doing alright?" Korsak asked.

"She looks worse than the doctor said she is. I'm so worried about her Vince," she frowned and Korsak rested his hand on her shoulder. "I don't know how long I can handle Jane being in harm's way. I even feel bad for entertaining the thought that she should have a safer job, somewhere we make less enemies. I just can't handle anymore, it's too much."

Korsak nodded, "I know, I don't know if Jane would approve, she is great at her job and she worked hard to get where she's gotten. She's pretty stubborn, me and her are one in the same, it took me pretty much dying for me to consider retiring, I planned to do my job forever, and now I'm working at the Dirty Robber. Who knows what she'll want to do, I just hope she doesn't end up here again."

"How's Angela doing?" she asked, trying to get her mind off the pain she was feeling in her chest.

"As good as she can be knowing her daughter almost died and that she has to rest and do things that are stress-free. But I mean it's Angela, she hates laying around doing nothing just as much as Jane. We both have pretty stubborn wives, but I know we hit the jackpot with them," he smiled to try and lighten up the conversation, he knew it was working when he seen a small glimpse of a smile appear on Maura's face, only for a moment.

"Has anyone else been updated on what's happened to Jane?"

"Just Jane's family, not sure if you wanted us to call your mothers."

Maura shook her head, "I wouldn't want to bother them, Constance hasn't been in touch since the wedding and well Hope is still really upset about the Camille thing. How has Frankie been doing? I know he's really upset about what happened, I just hope he doesn't have the same strong emotions of guilt as Jane had losing Camille."

"Him and Frost went to the little cafeteria here, he is still pretty shaken up, he's lucky to have Frost around. They really do make a good team."

"And Tommy?" Maura had to ask about Jane's younger brother, he hasn't been around since he remodeled the guest bathroom and after Cailin told her about their conversation the other day.

"Angela took him outside, he was pretty drunk when he got here. I have a feeling it's more than just this Jane situation. Everytime he came over to our house this week he's been really out of it. Angela is quite concerned as am I," Korsak rubber the back of his neck. "Has he said anything to you?"

"He hasn't no," she shrugged. "I think he's just feeling lonely, both his siblings are in stable relationships, his brother is dating Frost that could take a toll on him. I've known him enough to know that he handles his emotions worse than Jane. I should get back to Jane, I've been gone longer than I said," Maura looked back in the hospital room. "She seems so fragile."

"I could go in there if you'd like, give you some more time. You should go down and join Frost and Frankie."

"I rather stay by her side, if you don't mind," she sighed, noticing the look he gave her. "I'll be fine, she's my priority right now."

"You need to eat you know."

"Maybe I'm just as stubborn as Jane but I'm fine, I promise," Maura nodded before slipping back inside resuming her position next to her wife's bedside.

Korsak hated all of this, he could tell how much of a toll this was taking on Maura. He couldn't even begin to imagine if they did lose Jane what would come of the doc, how any of them would be taking this loss. He didn't even want to think about it, he sighed before heading down to the cafeteria joining Frost and Frankie. As soon as he sat down Angela had brought Tommy over, frowning as the young Rizzoli stumbled, almost tripping over his feet.

"Ma, do I really have to stay here?" he muttered and Angela nodded.

"You're not leaving my sight young man. It's bad enough I already have to worry about your sister, I don't want to worry about my boys too. Now sit down, I'll go get you some coffee to sober up."

"Ang, why don't you sit down? The doctor told you to take it easy. I'll get the coffee," Korsak offered and Angela frowned.

"Fine, but I'm not fragile you know," she complained as she sat down.

Korsak sighed, "I'm just following the doctor's orders hun, they know what they are doing," he got up to go get Tommy some coffee.

"Ma, are you going to be alright?" Frankie asked.

"Yeah, I'll be better once your sister stops ending up in hospitals."

"It wasn't like it was her fault Ma. I should have done more but I was slow at reacting."

"Don't you dare start blaming yourself, see you and your sister take too much on your shoulders. That kind of weight isn't good on you, right Frost? You seem to have it altogether."

Frost looked up and nodded, knowing not to argue with Angela, "Yeah, I guess I do."

"I don't know what you would do without Frost, it's like Jane with Maura. You guys lucked out having them in your lives."

Tommy couldn't help but roll his eyes, "Yeah, everyone supports little Frankie and Frostie, but when I liked him it's a problem," he tried to get up from the table. "I'm always the problem, but sure that's okay."

"Tommy sit down," Angela frowned. "I thought we talked about this outside."

"Well I rather not be here right now, but you won't let me go anywhere," Tommy grumbled and sat down. "This is worse than being on house arrest."

"Maybe you won't try to drink yourself to death next time," Angela crossed her arms.

"Aren't you supposed to not be stressing out Ma?" Tommy glanced at her, a serious look on his face.

"I can't be stress-free if you're not being careful," she gave her head a shake as Korsak came back and handed a coffee to Tommy before sitting down next to his wife.

"I can take him home if you'd like Angela? Make sure he's careful and he won't be alone."

Tommy looked up at Korsak, supporting his cup of coffee. "That sounds like a good idea, I can't be here right now and I honestly prefer not to be."

Angela rubbed her temples, "Okay that's fine, but behave yourself Tommy don't make Vince regret his nice gesture."

Korsak kissed the top of Angela's head and helped Tommy up from the table as they left the hospital. Angela sighed and looked at Frankie and Frost. "I really am sorry about Tommy, he's been acting strange all week."

"It's fine Ma, you don't have to apologize for him. He'll figure it out in no time."

"Oh honey, I hope you're right," Angela sighed.

The next morning approached, Maura was at Jane's bedside, Angela had brought her some clothes, they would be going right to the cemetery for Camille's funeral. Maura was in the bathroom changing her clothes and putting on some concealer for the bags under her eyes, she wasn't able to sleep at all last night.

Angela was sitting down next to Jane's bed, holding her hand. "I'm sorry that you won't be at the funeral I know Camille meant a great deal to you. The doctor said in a few hours he'll take that off your face and see if you can safely breath on your own. I know you're going to want to talk but it's advised that you don't for a while. I hate how you keep getting into these situations, Frankie reassured me it wasn't something you did on purpose," she squeezed her daughter's fingers. "I know Maura is really worried about you, she's such a sweet girl. You lucked out with her, I hate seeing her upset. The next two months are going to be a struggle I don't want you getting frustrated when you can't do things," she looked up sensing Maura come back from changing.

"When is Cavanaugh going to be here to keep an eye out on Jane?"

"He should be here any moment, when I got here he was getting coffee. It was nice of him to offer to watch you Jane," Angela stood up from beside Jane's bed. "I'll be out in the car Maura," she gave her daughter on look over and left the room.

Maura sighed, "It's going to be a rough day for both of us. I know how hard you were working on her eulogy, I hope that it's okay if I deliver it," she kissed Jane on the forehead and she heard Sean Cavanaugh enter.

"Hey Maura, how's she doing today?" he asked, pulling up a chair.

"It's going to be a really rough day. The doctor should be in in a few hours to see how she breathes on her own. I'm just glad it wasn't too serious, God forbid her lung collapsed or she became paralyzed, that would make this a lot worse," she explained running a hand through Jane's hair. "I'll be back in an hour or two, okay sweetie?" she bit her bottom lip and Jane nodded. "I love you," she pulled away and gave Sean a nod before leaving.

"Hey Rizzoli," he spoke softly. "Miami sucked, I'm glad to be coming back next week. Although I really hate the reason why I had to come back. Danger seems to be pretty good at following us wherever life leads," Cavanaugh patted her hand. "I'm also sorry for the loss of your friend, Frankie was telling me about her she seemed like a great person..."

Meanwhile Maura made it down to her car, Angela decided that she would drive them to the cemetery. "Were the twins alright yesterday with you helping watch after them? I'm sure Cailin appreciated it."

"Actually, when we went over Cailin sort of retreated to the guest house, she didn't want to be bothered. I think she just didn't want to show anymore emotions, she just lost Camille and then we almost lose Jane, that in itself is pretty overwhelming. Vince stayed at our house with Tommy, keeping an eye out on him is tough, but he managed, at least that's what he told me on the phone. I honestly wish that Tommy didn't turn to alcohol to solve his problems, it's all Frank's fault," she shook her head, "He looked up to him for much too long. I'm incredibly worried about all my children. I would really hate to lose any of them."

Maura nodded, "That's understandable, and now in a few months you'll have another child to look out for."

"You know Maura, that scares me more each day," she frowned, the rest of the ride to the cemetery was silent. They arrived and everyone else was already there, once Maura stepped out of the car she was greeted by the twins running up to her.

"Where's Jane?" Todd asked, he looked around noticing that she wasn't there.

"Remember what I told you yesterday Todd," Angela looked at the younger boy solemnly

"That Jane got sick, I thought she would be better. Will she be home today?"

"That I'm not sure of sweetheart, the doctor has been taking good care of her," she rested her hand on his shoulder, walking with him towards the plot Camille was going to be buried.

Kate looked up at Maura, scrunching her nose like she was deep in thought. "A bad person hurt Jane, didn't they? Jane wouldn't let being sick stop her from saying goodbye to mama."

Maura didn't say anything, she just wrapped her arm around the girl's shoulder. "The bad people who hurt Jane are going away for a long time," she told her. Kate just nodded as they walked over to join the others, the younger girl squeezing Maura's hand tightly as they stood next to Cailin.

The priest extended his hand, resting it on Camille's casket, "Today we are putting to rest a woman who was young and very much loved. It's a shame of what happened to her, she will be passing to the beyond and be joined again with her mother and father who are buried here next to her. It's a time we realize that no amount of time is given to each person, that we must cherish every moment that we can, be appreciated of our loved ones because they are ones you can always fall back on in a time of need and comfort. Now I believe that Maura Rizzoli-Isles has something prepared to say," he stepped away slightly from the casket.

Kate let go of Maura's hand and ended up grabbing onto Cailin's looking up at her, noticing how sad she looked. Maura stood in front of Camille's casket, being around the dead was easy when she didn't know them, but this was someone she cared deeply about and admired for taking care of two kids alone. Maura sighed looking over at the twins, both of which had tears in their eyes.

"Camille Carmichael was very special to all of us, she came into our lives and now she has been taken away from us all too soon," Maura sighed, she could tell why Jane was struggling to get the words right with the eulogy, it was hard for her. "She didn't have family, but she fit in with us so well, we ended up being like a family to her. She trusted and respected all of us, that's the kind of woman she was. All of us share the emotions of sadness, every single one of us is in mourning. We all mourn in different ways, but what is important to remember is that we all come together and realize that we aren't alone. There will always be a shoulder to cry on, there will always be someone to talk to. We will overcome this, that's what people say anyways, that it'll get easier as time goes on, but I don't believe in that, it will always be hard knowing she won't get to see her children grow up. We need to support everyone more than ever at a time like this." She rested her hand on Camille's casket. "You will be missed and never forgotten. You left a huge impact on all of us here and life won't be the same without you," she wiped her tear stained cheeks before Cailin came up to throw her arms around Maura in a hug.

Moments later Camille's casket was being brought into the ground, each of the kids grabbed some dirt, they put some into the ground. "Goodbye Mama," the twins whispered, holding each other's hands as Maura got down onto their level and pulled them into an embrace.

"I'm so sorry about all of this," she whispered, kissing the tops of their heads. "You both have so many people who care about you, it's okay to be scared and confused about your emotions, but we will do everything in our power to keep you both safe from any harm."

Kate and Todd nodded, as Maura stood up and held onto their hands, she glanced over at Hope who was comforting Cailin.

Once everyone headed to their cars Maura looked at Angela, "I'm going to go back to see Jane, did you mind watching the kids?"

Angela nodded, about to speak when Kate tugged on Maura's hand. "I wanna go see Jane. Please?" she wiped her still wet eyes.

"Can I come too?" Todd asked softly and Maura looked at Angela who shrugged.

"We'll all go together," Angela spoke, resting her hand on Maura's shoulder. "Let me just tell Vince," she headed over to the car where Korsak was standing next to Tommy.

"I have to warn you both that Jane is in a fragile state right now, she's going to look ill and it might be scary to approach her bedside. I'm sure she'll be glad to see both of you, I just want you prepared," Maura looked into their eyes and they nodded.

Angela came back and nodded, "Ready to go?"

"Yeah, I think so," Maura looked to the kids who glanced over to where Camille was buried, she hated that these kids have to go through this at such a young age. "Are you two ready?" she asked and they both nodded their heads before she helped them get into the car.
