Hey everyone! Sorry about the first upload of this being super wonky! FF is being notoriously awful lately. On that same note, I am on Ao3, my Avengers stories are the only ones on there currently (new computer can't find OG file nonsense). But, in case anyone prefers that platform, I know I have lately. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update! I've had serious writer's block, I'm excited to continue this story and I hope that the new year will be bringing more!

"Hey kiddo" Steve sat down on the couch next to Evie. "Can we chat?"
Morgan was in bed and Peter was sleeping over at Ned's.
"I didn't do anything." Evie said, not looking up from the television.
"I didn't think you did. But let's remember to circle back to that." Steve said shaking his head with a grin. He shouted over to Tony in the kitchen. "Tones, can you come in here?"
"Pops! I promise, I didn't do anything."
"What are you watching?" Tony asked, sitting down on Evie's other side
"Its this reality show." Evie explained. "That guy has a buffalo farm or something- its what he's butchering I guess, there's some other guys like hunting mountain lions and bears who'll show up soon."
"Sure." Tony watched as the figures on the television began the graphic process of butchering a buffalo before the show switched characters. "Whos that guy? The guy bleeding."
"A knife maker I think, though I don't think he's that good."
"Tony. Evie." Steve reprimanded urging the attention away from the television program.
"Oh yeah, what's up babe?"
"Peter's field trip."
"Hm?" Evie pried her eyes from the screen. "What about it?"
"Evie please look at me when I'm talking to you. So you know about the field trip to SI?"
"Yeah how lame. Dork has to go on a school thing on our day off" Evie laughed. "To our house no less."
Tony laughed.
"Anyone else going on this trip?" Steve asked.
"Duh. Its a field trip. Awesome!" Evie laughed, nudging her Dad, at a particularly adventurous dog chase happening on the television.
"Evie." Steve turned off the television.
"Steve!"
"Tony!" Steve urged, rolling his eyes.
"Fine."
"Yes Pops?"
"Your pops wants to make sure that we don't torture Peter on his field trip." Tony said, tired of beating around the bush.
"Oh. Yeah. I have my dumb internship or whatever with Aunt Pepper that day and she said I can't bail even though I don't have school." Evie rolled her eyes. "Something about a meeting or whatever, I dunno. Besides, much as I'd love to torture Peter and company, it'd be hard with the whole keeping the Stark legacy on the dl."
"Evie, try and curb the sass." Steve kissed her forehead with a smile. He shook his head with a laugh. "So I've said it. Let Peter have a normal field trip."
"Ok." Evie shrugged. "Can i have the remote back?"
...
"Stark legacy huh?" Tony looked over at Evie as the credits to the television program rolled.
"What about it?"
"Have you thought about when you're going to want to tell people?" Tony asked.
"As in more than a few friends?" Evie sighed.
"As in, the press conference we both know is inevitable."
"Aren't we waiting until Morgan is older?"
"Mm. Honestly I'm impressed you three have managed to stay under wraps this long, its not like you guys are holding back on call the big guns situations. We want to beat the press with this Evie, or we lose the upper hand." Tony said raising a knowing brow.
"Why now?" Evie leaned against her father, clicking off the television.
"This internship with Pep, you're in meetings with the top dogs, no matter what NDAs they sign... its only a matter of time before this leaks. We knew this going in. The more people you meet as her protégé, the more likely it is."
"I could just not do my internship." Evie shrugged. "I don't think colleges are as impressed when your parents own the company."
"That too. College. You're meeting a ton of people or will soon who need to know the truth. Its coming out soon-"
"Whether we release it or not hunh?" Evie sighed, musing to herself. "I can't say I didn't know it was coming."
"Yeah." Tony ran his fingers through her hair. "It'll be fine kiddo."
"I know. I'll be fine. Its Morgs and Peter. We tell people who I am... its basic deduction to figure out that they're here too."
