Chapter 33th

A night shift supervisonary nurse came into the room to see the patient really excited. Marie Kellog a specialist on the floor had to tell Gibbs to lay back down and breath until the symptoms of the dream was gone.

Checking his vitals with using the blood pressure cuff and machine to read just how high or low it would be. She was noticing his breathing was back to normal. Along with his blood pressure to be 118 over 72 which is just about normal for the patient.

"Special Agent Gibbs Doctor Grace asked me to keep an eye out on you for when ever you're suffering with a very bad dream or nightmare. And it would seem you had one. Are you able to at least tell me about the dream ?"

"I can try Miss Kellog. " He was able to sit up without further incident. "I remember that my team and I were turned down on going to Paraguay to rescue civilians in the jungles. However I went against Director Vance's orders and went anyway with my team."

"I understand you're married? Where did she fit into this with your plan?" She will have to asked to know the whole picture.

"We were fighting over the subject with me being stubborn. I went anyway no matter what anyone had said to me." He said with taking the pitcher to drink some water. His mouth and throat was awfully dry.

"So what happened Special Agent Gibbs?" She was now sitting watching for any weird reaction.

"Having to be in the jungle it was very hot and humid and I had taken off my shirt with the sweating. My team and I had separated to search for the compound and the civilians. As I search I had to take a quick breath to drink some water." He replied with taking in a quick breath into his lungs.

"So you stopped to rest. What happened to the rest of the team in the jungle?" She will asked with her curiosity working over time.

"I don't know at this point. However I would see them again until later when they finally find me after being caught by Hernandez and his men shooting two darts into my neck. I don't remember the rest with having to wake up from the nightmare."

"I am wondering on whether all this tied to your experience in Paraguay both times?" She asked to have Gibbs on the defensive.

"No doubt and I need to know on whether I will be able to live a normal life in general with my family?" He was worried that his mental state once again was breaking down.

"I don't know at all Special Agent Gibbs. It will be all up to you on how you're able to cope with life and your job. Since I understand you have been working for NCIS a very long time and with losing a great many of your friends and family including your first wife Shannon and Kelly." She will throw this up into his face.

"I really don't know how you know all this in regard to my bio?" He laid back his head against the white pillow with the ugly pillow cases.

"As I said I have spoken with Doctor Grace in depth in regard to you and why I was working on the floor with other patients as with yourself. Doctor Grace had told me you're a very compassionate man for when it comes to family, friends and your mostly your job. However do you think there is a good chance that you will be making the decision to retire?"

"I have spoken with Doctor Grace about the subject. However at that time I wasn't ready to retire. Even though things can always change quickly. My wife Loreile and Director Vance had been pushing me into making the decision to retire."

"Any why don't you? Or is it the fact that your scare with this Hernandez and his men running around looking for you and with taking you out for his revenge?"

"To tell you the truth Marie I don't have any answers for you at this time. What I do need is to try and get back to sleep. You can let Doctor Grace that we were able to have our little talk." Gibbs will say with annoyance and with a yawn.

"Very well I will leave and let you get your sleep. If you can't I will be here on the floor for another four hours." She will turn to leave with turning out the lights.

However he pulled out his cell phone to call Director Leon Vance at home. No doubt he was going to wake him up at midnight.

Director Leon Vance was still up in his bedroom reading the latest Intel coming from Paraguay and the movements of certain Gorilla troops heading for a particular compound for where Hernandez and his second-in-command might be heading.

He had arrived from the States taking a special transport plane with Riccio and a few others to meet and begin again their regime.

Vance's cell-phone had gone off with checking the name on the screen. He was slightly annoyed to have Gibbs calling. "This is Vance. What's going on Gibbs?"

"Listen Leon I need to know for sure on whether you have any Intel on Jose Juan Hernandez and his flunky Riccio heading for Paraguay again?" Gibbs will asked with his leg and right knee all of a sudden throbbing.

"Why do you really want to know after all of the times he's gone after you, Gibbs? I would think you and Loreile will be happy with him leaving?

"I need to know so that we can set up a possible trip back to Paraguay to search for him near the very same compound I was taken twice."

Director Leon Vance's blood was boiling currently. "Are you out of your mind man? I won't, as with the DOD and mostly your wife. She is not going to allow you to go unless you want another divorce along with Loreile to keep you away from when your child is delivered?"

"Of course not Leon! However I will ask her nicely as to why I need to do this or else I won't be able to live a happy rest of my life with Loreile and the baby."

"Good luck with that Gibbs as with me talking to the DOD about sending people in to Paraguay. I can't talk about this any further it's late and I need to be up early for a SECNAV meeting at the Pentagon. Good night Gibbs and try to sleep at least until you talk with Loreile." He hangs up the phone with the connection.
