️WARNING LONG AUTHOR'S NOTE AT THE END OF THIS CHAPTER.
• tldr: Thank you for being patient with me—even if you weren't and deleted this story from your library and reading list. I'm so grateful for all you guys.
Megatron had taken them outside of the dam, where a bridge overlooked the massive structure. He uncaged her from her position on his servo, setting her onto the hot asphalt. She took the time to enjoy the sun on her skin. She didn't acknowledge his chuckle or the arrival of Starscream.
"I live to serve you, Lord Megatron." The Seeker groveled. She took this chance to glance at him relishing in the irritated twitch of his wings at her presence.
"Where is the Cube?" Megatron demanded. He cared not for his SIC's incompetence, not when the Allspark was within his grasp. His optics darted to where Domine stood, the twitch of her ears the only sign she was listening.
Along with something of equal if not more power.
The smirk on her dark lips was proof of her reading his mind.
"The humans have taken it," Starscream replied. He shuffled on his peds causing rocks to tumble from his perch.
"You fail me yet again, Starscream. Get them!"
Only after the Seeker left did Megatron turn to Domine, unsurprised at her immobile figure.
"Will you be joining me?" He asked even though he knew the answer. She looked over her shoulder at the large mech. Her hair tumbled and followed the movement, strands catching in front of her ears and framing her face.
She smiled. Merely a slight pinch of the corner of her ashen and cracked lips.
"Perhaps."
Red optics glowed and a rueful smirk showed his understanding.
"You wish to have the Cube."
It was the wrong thing to say.
A laugh startled out of her, a shock to herself and the mech. Head thrown back, eyes crinkled, and fangs gleaming in the slowly dying sun.
Did she want the Allspark?
Goddesses no.
"And what worth does some silly toy-trinket made by a spoiled god hold to me, dear Megatronus?"
Staring at the hidden gleam in her blank eyes he knew.
Absolutely none.
It was a silly notion. One that had simply tumbled out of his mouth without processing. And from the look on her face, Domine knew it too. But it had to be asked. She posed more threat to his intentions than any scribbled battle plan Optimus had ever come up with back on Cybertron.
She was an enigma. A completely out of this world —and any other— equation with no formula or problem to solve. Something —someone—who held the sword which hanged upon all their heads.
Or should I say scythe? He thought.
Words falling out of those dark lips struck his attention.
"Take the Cube."
A black shimmer and suddenly he was staring up into pearlescent-white eyes, a few insignificant inches taller than him.
She paid little attention to his sudden surprise.
"Take the Cube. Fight over it. Destroy it. I care not what you do with it, it holds no use to me. But know this Megatronus."
Those empty eyes narrowed, the sharp arches above them furrowing deeply along with a dainty slim hand that cupped his face firmly. Chipped nails tinkling against his metal.
"You tell anyone what I have whispered upon you, the Fallen will be the least of your recent troubles."
And then she was gone. Like nothing but a murmur in the wind. As if she had never existed. A conjured dream from the depths of his poor saddened mind.
The warlord headed off. Transforming with a sudden set of coordinates sent over his commlink. The memories of his unconscious encounters with the dark elven-femme —whom he wished to understand— hidden away behind doors in the farthest corners of his mind. Chains covering every inch, with no lock to be found.
And no key to be used.

Nothing but desert cliffs covered the ground for miles, sand blowing in the wind and sending up fine particles. A lone figure in the distance was merely a speck of black against the background.
Cloak pulled up over her head and cape fluttering in the harsh wind, Domine raised her head. Shadows cast over her moon skin and shielded her faithfully. A structure stood ahead, what she knew to be a tomb. It called to the being inside her like a lost child.
"When dawn alights the dagger's tip."
"Three kings will reveal the doorway." She spoke reverently. How fitting they were compared to children. So easy to disappointment and eager to please, only to die in the end because of their parent's mistakes.
She scoffed, respect forgotten and ambled into the building. A flash occurred and suddenly she was as tall as the doorway. She strode confidently, approaching what seemed to be a wall. A hand rose and caressed the faded paintings.
A tomb. With no bodies? She thought amused.
A dark glow covered her before she took another step disappearing into the hidden crypt.

Fire coated the city like a smothering blanket, ash clogged the lungs of every breath, and debris rained down like a hailstorm. None were safe from the battle that consumed every inch of every street. Death had already laid her claimed upon thousands. People—men, women, children—had died at the hands of a old battle they had nothing to do with and what wasn't theirs' to be fought, but that didn't change the number of strewn forms that littered the streets and gazed lifelessly at what could no longer be seen.
What had once been a flourishing metropolis now remained a tomb, and at the center two mechs had brawled, once brothers. However, only one brother remained—standing tall and victorious while the other had fallen in defeat.
None had escaped their war.
Not even the brothers themselves.
And none ever would.
A/N: WOW! It's been a good long minute. I can only offer my apologies—and my condolences—to everyone who stuck by this story and to those who left. I don't blame y'all because I left too. Honestly when I first started this story I was overwhelmed with inspiration about what I wanted for this fanfic, but now I guess all that inspiration has dried up. It took me a great deal of confidence to update this book, I really felt like no one would want to read it. But I said to myself that I would at least try no matter how many words I wrote or if anyone would read it. It's always been in the back of my mind to want to complete this fanfic but I never mustered up the courage—until now—to actually write something. Lately, and even back then life hit me in a very physically way and made me realize that I wasn't where I needed to be and I didn't know what kinda person I was or even who I wanted to be. I took a step back from everything I enjoyed—including reading and writing—in order to figure out myself and my mindset. Hopefully I can continue to do that as this story goes on. For now this will probably be my first update in awhile until I can put another out—or you know go on another hiatus, but I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this story, especially those who continued to read even if there was a real guarantee I'd never update again. You guys' appreciation and love for this story means a lot to me—especially those who came from the original fanfic. I can't thank you all enough.
