Reviews:

Clefeifei: I have no idea. It's gone by so fast. Glad you love it.

Ackbarfan5556: Unfortunately yes. Someone will die. You'll find out who soon.

Music Chick: Yup. Almost.

Sweet Cari: Yes, that is what happened. Your memory is sharp. Daigo and Maki really grew on me as the series went on. At least they had the curtesy to have Daigo go out like a hero. That moment reminded me of 'Armageddon' when Harry (Bruce Willis) said goodbye to A.J. (Ben Affleck).

ReR0547: Yes he is :-) You'll see.

Guest: Glad you love it. You'll enjoy what is coming.

Shout out to Elgv for the follow. Thank you.

Howdy ho, everyone. Glad to see you all liked the chapter last week. I am sure you guys are going to love this one. So much action in it. We are getting so close to the end that I can taste it as we head into the month of love––February.

Enjoy it :-)

A sharp pain exploded through Tai's head as he took the brunt of the impact when the pod he was in rolled along and then came to a sudden stop. He rubbed the crown of his head as everything went still.

A smile then crossed his face. They had made it. He was back in the real world. His clothes reverted back to what he was wearing before going to the Digital World. They were a bit dirty, so he would have to change out as soon as he could. Tai looked down to see that Davis' unconscious form was unharmed.

The thought of Daigo crossed his mind as he opened the pod's plexiglass door. He only hoped that the man would be okay. It was unlikely he would ever see him again, but he had to hope that he took down Himekawa with him. If that happened, the infection would be destroyed and Meiko, Ken, and Kari would be saved.

Looking up, Tai only saw a dark sky with no stars and no moon. It was just dark. He looked down the row of pods to see that Ken, Yolei, and Cody were still asleep. The states they were in almost looked like self-induced deep meditation because he felt their life energy flowing through them. The real Gennai's pod must have broken off from them before they left the Digital World because he didn't see it among the other pods.

He gathered his bearings and prepared to climb out when he heard a weak voice, no louder than a whisper.

"T-T-Tai?"

The brown-haired young man looked down to see Davis' eyes just barely fluttering open. He wouldn't have noticed he was awake if he hadn't said anything. A small smile worked its way up his face, thankful that the boy was okay.

"Davis," he returned. The two gazed at each other for a moment before Tai said, "Stay here. I'll get help. I'm glad you're alive, pal."

Davis tried to say something, but he couldn't get the words out. Instead, he weakly gave Tai a thumbs up.

"It'll be okay," Tai said, ruffling the boy's hair. "You're safe now. I promise."

He climbed out of the pod and left Odaiba Beach in search of help. After that, he would go find his friends. He hoped that they were doing alright.

Tai glanced back nervously at where Ken's pod was and moved off the beach as fast as he could. He didn't know when the infection inside of the Chosen One would rise up, so he had to act as fast as he could. There was no way he and the others could handle the full wrath of the Digimon Emperor along with Meiko and Himekawa. They would surely lose that battle.

xXx

Ken Ichijouji felt like he had just awoken from a long slumber as his brain became cognizant of the world around him. His head felt heavy with cobwebs mucking up the works inside of it. He would have shook them out, but his body was so weak that he could hardly blink his eyes, let alone shake his head. A low, weak groan escaped his lips.

What happened to him? Everything was still a blur. The last thing he remembered was the blast from Alphamon, and then nothing after that. How long had he been out of it? All these questions were giving him a headache.

When he finally mustered up the strength to open his eyes, he was greeted by clear dark skies that strangely had no stars in them. Then, he saw light from the bottoms of his eyelids. Ken titled his head down slightly and saw it was coming from the Rainbow Bridge. He was back home! Then a much more important matter rose up to smack him in the face.

Where were his teammates?

His voice came out as a soft, barely audible squeak when he tried to speak. "D-D-Davis?" he called out. "Y-Yolei? Cody?"

To his surprise, there was a response, but it was just as weak as his.

"K-K-Ken?"

The Jedi of Kindness turned his head to the right as best he could. He heard the voice, but he couldn't see where it came from. The sides of the pod blocked off any view to his flanks.

"Davis?" he responded, his voice sounding a bit stronger. "Is that you?"

"Yeah. I'm here."

Ken swallowed to try and muster up his voice again. His strength was returning to him, but not at the speed he would like. Everything still felt like gravity was pressing down on him at the highest magnitude it could. It was like how astronauts felt when they were put through the gravity test on the ride that spun around at an ever-increasing speed, pressing them up against the seats until they couldn't take it anymore.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

A grunt escaped before he heard, "The best way I can put it is––I'm here. How about you?"

"Same," Ken groaned. His eyelids squeezed shut and he let out a grunt in exertion as he adjusted himself on the cold metal interior of the pod. "How did we get back?"

"Tai was here with me a few moments ago," Davis said. "He's going to get help."

"Good."

The Jedi of Kindness surveyed the area around them to see if Cody and Yolei were with them too. He and Davis were alive––he hoped they were as well, especially Cody. To his relief, he sensed their energy to his left. They were both alive and well.

He then sensed a powerful aura coming from somewhere in the district. It was clouded by darkness, fueled by rage and a lust for blood and death. The aura was close to his level of power when he was at full strength. Then Ken sensed five others that were close to it. His eyes widened as much as they could.

His friends were in trouble.

Ken tried to push himself up, but his body refused to do what he was telling it to. He growled to himself. Here he was in a pod, weak and useless, while his friends were in danger. Despite the weakness in his body, he needed to do something to help them. He needed to let them know that he was okay.

Mustering up as much strength as he could, Ken attempted to push himself up to a seated position again. His body creaked and screamed at him to lie back down, but he fought through it as he forced his torso up. Finally, he sat upright, gazing out at the waves lapping at the shore and the Rainbow Bridge illuminated across the bay. It was a sight he thought he would never see again. His head swept along the beach and saw that his girlfriend and Cody were waking up inside their pods.

Ken's arms shook as they gripped the sides of the pod while he brought himself up. He gritted his teeth and fought through the weakness until he stood to his feet and jumped out. His legs buckled upon making contact with the sand, but Ken placed his hand down to stabilize himself. He stayed crouched to the ground for several moments, his breath coming out in ragged gasps after not being physically active for a long time.

"Ken, what are you doing?" Davis asked, now sitting up in his pod too.

"I…have to…" Ken panted, "…go...help everyone. They…need me."

He rose to his feet and limped along the sand toward where he sensed the battle going on.

An alarm sounded as the timer counted down to less than thirty seconds. Red strobe lights flashed throughout the entire control room, but the clashing of two lightsabers filled the air.

Daigo used every bit of strength he could muster to defend each of Himekawa's attacks. She didn't give him any time to launch a counteroffensive so he was forced to spend more time defending, which was draining his energy by the second. Learning how to use his lightsaber again was anything but like riding a bicycle.

As he parried a strike from her, he used the opportunity to try and deliver a strong blow. Instead, she wrapped her hand around his throat and squeezed as hard as she could. Daigo nearly dropped his lightsaber as she forced him onto the control panel. Everything around him slowly faded out of focus. She seemed to be mouthing something because he saw her lips move, almost as if she was urging him to die.

Before he could truly black out, Daigo put what energy he had left into his legs to kick her away from him. The force of the kick also knocked her lightsaber from her hand, but Daigo was too weak from her strangulation to take advantage of it. Himekawa returned his kick with a dropkick of her own, knocking him to the ground and forcing his lightsaber from his hand. She came back for another round but he was ready for her, clotheslining her to the ground.

Daigo called for his lightsaber and activated it once it reached his hand, but Himekawa reacted just as quickly by using the Force to call hers. She held his attack with all the strength that she could muster, despite lying on her back. As their blades pushed against each other, Himekawa swept his feet out from under him. Once he hit the ground, she unleashed a small burst of Force lightning, emitting loud screams from the man that could almost be heard from the surface. Daigo thrashed and screamed as the lightning surged through him.

The lightning stopped a few seconds later, but he had no time to recover from it. The next thing he knew, she picked him up with the Force and pushed him through the glass window into the pod room. Daigo skidded three feet before coming to a rest on the cold floor. Everything hurt.

"I hate to go, but it's time to fly," she sneered as a portal opened behind her before going through it. "Ta-ta."

"Nine," the electronic voice counted down. "Eight."

Daigo slowly got to his feet, nearly stumbling back to the ground due to the pain that surged through him. He minded all the shards of glass that were around him so that he didn't cut his hand or arm.

"Seven. Six."

The portal was about to close. He needed to move fast.

"Five. Four."

Leaping through the window, he sprinted towards the portal.

"Three. Two."

He closed his eyes and dove into it.

"One."

An explosion tore through the room.

A soft wind blew across Daigo's face. He opened his eyes and saw that he was standing on a rooftop. A sigh of relief escaped his lips. He was still alive, and back in the real world.

The sky was dark as though it was nighttime. He checked his watch: 2:30 a.m. All around them, there were loud booms, SDF helicopters encircling the whole district like something from Apocalypse Now, and fires licking the dark sky like the tongues of Hell. Multiple Digimon were on a rampage, terrorizing the streets and destroying anything in their path.

Daigo froze in horror.

'It's begun,' he realized.

Himekawa's cold laugh once again reached his ears. She was standing on the edge of the rooftop, sneering at him with that sadistic smile of hers.

"You are now witnessing my ultimate triumph, Daigo!" she cried. "Soon, those kids will be dead and the world will begin anew. It's over, and there's nothing you can do about it!"

Daigo's face narrowed into one of concentration, refusing to believe a word she said. With a determined cry, he activated his lightsaber and ran towards her. Himekawa leapt over him as he swung his lightsaber and unleashed a torrent of Force lightning. This time, he was able to block the attack, but was pushed closer and closer to the edge of the building. He couldn't hold on much longer.

Channeling all of his strength, Daigo turned the lightning away and leapt towards Himekawa to resume their duel.

It was a ballet of death as the two traded attacks at a high speed, always knowing what was coming their way before it could happen. Several times, one of them almost fell off the edge of the building but somehow found a way to keep that from happening.

Daigo reeled back as Himekawa kicked him in the jaw. Before she could deliver a fatal strike, he jumped towards the next rooftop.

"COWARD!" he heard her roar, but he kept on going.

When Matt and the others returned to the warehouse, they were not expecting to find the place torn apart and trashed like a typhoon and a hurricane came breezing through. Slash marks decorated the walls, Matt could instantly tell they were from lightsabers from the way they were cut. Objects were strung all along the floor, jagged shards of glass were punched into the windows, and there was a large hole in the ceiling. A chilly wind filled the now open-aired building. Whatever happened here, they must have missed it.

After being left with no other option, Matt ordered everyone to fall back to the warehouse. At least there, they could regroup and come up with a new plan now that they knew what they were up against. He saw the pile of dirty clothes they had all left behind before changing into their current attire. It certainly was more comfortable and easier to fight in than their normal clothes.

"TK and Kari aren't here," reported Sora after she scoped out the former computer room.

Matt surveyed the damage and made a guess as to what happened.

"Looks like the infection took control of Kari," he said with an exasperated sigh. Yet another thing they had to worry about. "Perfect. Just perfect."

"Think she and TK will be okay?" asked Mimi, leaning up against an undamaged box.

"Knowing TK, I'm sure he'll handle himself just fine. It's whether or not he can do what would need to be done that concerns me."

"Like you?" replied Joe.

Matt frowned at him. "What's that supposed to mean, Joe?"

"Will you be able to do what needs to be done when the time comes, Matt?" Joe elaborated. "The Meiko you believe is in there is gone. I'm sorry to have to tell you that, but she is. Only the creature that replaced her remains––it has to be destroyed."

"Joe, come on! That's not true!" Mimi protested. "There has to be a way to –"

"He's right."

Matt was surprised by how weak that came out, like it wasn't even his voice. He was slowly coming around to the idea that the Meiko Mochizuki he had fallen in love with was now indeed gone, replaced by this bloodthirsty creature that would kill everything in sight. Even so, he couldn't just leave her like this. There had to be a way. The sounds of destruction going on outside were amplified into the building through the hole in the roof, only adding to the despair.

"He's right," he repeated sadly. "Meiko's gone. There's no getting her back. The infection has taken her over completely. She's gone."

Matt wiped a tear from his eye. The truth had finally slapped him in the face. He could only hope TK could find a way to save Kari. At least one of them would get a little taste of happiness. Looking around, he saw the others looking at him expectantly. For once, he had to say that he was not sure what would happen.

Dark Meiko would not stop until they were all dead. She would hunt them down to the ends of the earth––whatever was left of it after all this––until she found them and took them out. Matt looked across the room to each individual member of the team. They had all been through so much together, and overcome all of it. For once in his life, Matt felt that this was something none of them would be able to come out of alive.

"We're not going to make it, aren't we?" Joe asked. Matt rolled his head back. The Jedi of Reliability was just on a roll today.

The blonde took a deep breath. It was time to give everyone the hard truth without sugarcoating it. He shook his head.

"We won't."

Mimi and Sora gasped sharply, but they were almost barely heard over the sounds of a battle going on outside.

"I'm sorry, everyone, but I think this is our last stand," Matt continued. "Just the five of us alone is not going to be enough to do what is required." He then smiled. "That's why we are going to give it everything we've got before we draw our last breath. It has been my honor serving with all of you. Anyone want to say no?"

His eyes fell on Izzy first. The computer genius squirmed slightly under his gaze, but shook his head.

"I'm not running away," he said. "I'm staying to the end."

Matt nodded with a smile before turning to Joe. "Joe?"

Joe rubbed the back of his neck nervously and looked away. That wasn't a good sign.

"Well, uh…" he started to say.

"Joe," Matt said, carrying a forceful tone in his voice.

The oldest Destined Jedi sighed. "Okay, okay. I'm there. I couldn't live with myself if you guys all died and I ran away like a coward."

Mimi snickered. "That's a switch."

"Well, I've grown up a bit since then," Joe snapped back.

"And even have a 'girlfriend'?"

"She's not made up! I swear to God!"

That brought some much-needed relief to the scene before Matt turned his eyes to Sora. The sight of her made his heart ache with sadness. She had already been through a lot in the last twenty-four hours that he felt guilty about asking more of her.

To her credit, Sora did not hesitate to shake her head.

"I'll follow you wherever you will lead us, Matt," she said. "If it's to the end, it's to the end. At least I'd get a chance to tell Tai how sorry I am when we reach the afterlife."

And finally, there was Mimi. Matt saw her glance past him, presumably to Izzy. She bit her lip. Mimi was a lot of things to Matt, but she always came through when the situation called for it. She was not the same girl that she was during their first adventures. She had come a long way, and he was very proud of her.

"I don't want to be left out of this," Mimi said. "You're all dear to me. If we're going down, we'll all go down together."

With those words, Mimi had sealed their fate.

Matt squeezed the goggle strap around his neck, pumping himself up for what was coming. Knowing that everyone was sticking around to the end made him thankful for this group of people that he was bonded to by fate. They were true friends to the end.

"Very well then," he said. "Let's go out and –"

The door opened with a loud creek. Matt reached for his lightsaber and activated it, wondering if Dark Meiko had found them already. But as the large, black barrier that kept the outside world out opened wider, Matt's breath was sucked out of his chest like the whole warehouse was a vacuum.

A dark-haired male stood with his arm against the door. Matt couldn't see his face because it was looking down behind the veil of black hair. The figure's breath came out in ragged gasps as he clutched his chest. He then looked up to meet Matt's gaze. Indigo eyes met sapphire blue.

Matt could not believe it.

"Ken?" he gasped.

The Jedi of Kindness smiled weakly. "Hi," he said before stumbling forward.

Matt used his super speed to rush forward and catch his former apprentice before he hit the ground. Everyone else gathered around them, also concerned by his appearance. Matt was so overjoyed at the sight of Ken that he didn't want to let go of him.

"Where have you been?" he asked. "We were all so worried about you. Where are Davis and the others? Are they–?"

"Matt, please. Too much," Ken replied hoarsely. He swallowed and gasped. "That's not important right now. Something evil…is close by. I'm not sure what it is."

The dark-haired male pushed off from Matt's shoulders so he could stand up. The blonde-haired Jedi of Friendship pressed his hands against Ken's shoulders to keep him stabilized until he found his footing. What he said then clicked in his brain. That had to be Meiko he was talking about.

"Ken, you should be in a hospital," said Joe. "We appreciate you coming to tell us all this, but you're too weak to help. You need to rest."

Ken shook his head stubbornly. "I've rested enough in that pod. You guys need my help, and I'm here to give it. You're not talking me out of this."

Matt bit his lip. What was he going to do? He admired Ken's determination, but that still did not take away from the fact the younger Jedi had been out of commission for two months. He wasn't sure what Ken had meant by being in a pod, but he had a feeling it had something to do with Himekawa. If Ken went up against Dark Meiko in his present state, she would surely obliterate him without a second thought. It would be the equivalent of a champion horse trying to complete the Triple Crown with a bad leg in the Belmont Stakes. It was impossible.

"Ken, I'm sorry, but –" he started to say, but then Sora interrupted him.

"Matt, aren't you forgetting something? I can heal him up enough to help us," she said before moving toward him. "Watch this."

Matt watched quietly as Sora placed a hand on Ken's chest. A second later, the heart-shaped tattoo on her wrist glowed its soft red light. He watched in amazement as Ken's eyes opened a bit wider with each second that passed. By Kami, this could probably work. His hope was restored. This would probably not be a suicide mission after all.

"How do you feel, Ken?" Sora asked as she finished.

The dark-haired Jedi of Kindness smiled back at her. "Like I can take on the whole world myself, Sora. Thank you."

Matt smiled and took Ken's lightsaber out of his pocket and handed it to him. "Then let's do this. Let's find Meiko and–"

The instant he said that, Mimi and Izzy let out sharp, distressed cries before collapsing to the ground. As he turned around, Joe fell over too. Then Sora did too. What was happening?

"What the hell is–?" he started to ask when an evil cackle rang out. It sounded like it was coming from above him so he looked up at the opening in the roof.

"Guess who's back, Matty?" Dark Meiko sneered.

Matt did not hesitate to activate his green lightsaber. Even so, he found it almost impossible to keep himself up. His knees buckled, threatening to cave in at any second. His breaths became more labored and weak, sounding just like Ken did a moment ago. What was going on?

"What are you…doing?" he grunted out.

Dark Meiko snickered. "I'm just borrowing a little bit of your power to make myself stronger. No big deal."

Matt's eyes shot open. "Borrowing our power?" he shrieked, collapsing to one knee as his power continued draining out of him. There was not much left before he was completely powerless. The others laid either on their sides or their fronts. "If so, why does it feel like you're completely draining me?"

The fiend jumped down from her perch at the top of the opening in the roof and landed softly beside him. Matt used whatever strength he had left to tilt his head up and look her in the eyes. Such dark, cold hatred the likes of which he had never experienced before. Her lightsaber hovered dangerously near his neck.

"Because I am. King Drasil needs power to take over both worlds and you are the only ones that stand in his way," Dark Meiko explained. "So, to help my master's cause, my mistress sent me in to drain your power and weaken you all enough to kill you."

Matt closed his eyes, expecting this to be the end. A tear fell from his right eye. He had failed everyone. Worst of all, he had failed to live up to Tai's promise to protect everyone. This was it. He waited in anticipation for Dark Meiko to slice her lightsaber through his neck and decapitate him like she did Aquarius.

"Stop it!" Ken's voice echoed through the warehouse, followed by the sound of a lightsaber activating.

Dark Meiko let out a distressed cry with a loud crash reaching the Destined Jedi of Friendship's ears. Matt felt the power loss temporarily stop, allowing him to open his eyes and see what was going on. A gaping hole in the side of the wall showed the infected Dark Jedi lying amongst rubble. Ken stood at the foot of it, his purple lightsaber out and ready for action.

"Careful, Ken," the blonde-haired Jedi warned. "She's very powerful."

Ken smirked with a snort. "So am I," he replied as Dark Meiko got up with a growl.

"You little insect. You'll pay for that!" she hissed, reactivating her lightsaber.

There was no time to fully digest the significance of the confrontation as Ken and Dark Meiko clashed their sabers together and battled with such incredible speed that they were both speeding blurs. Matt felt lucky to have a front row seat to this as he heard the other Destined Jedi pick themselves off the ground.

"What happened, Matt?" asked Joe with a tired voice. "Why don't we feel weak anymore?"

Matt turned away from the battle to answer his question. "That's because Dark Meiko isn't focused on us anymore. All this time, she has been draining our power from us little by little to power up not only herself, but also King Drasil."

There was a stunned silence as everyone grasped the weight of his words. He still found it unbelievable himself. Why hadn't they figured it out before? Maybe it was his unwillingness to believe that Dark Meiko had intended to harm them this whole time.

"Think we should help Ken out?" Sora asked.

Matt shook his head. Ken looked like he was doing fine, so he saw no need for them to intervene. If the prophecy was true, then Ken had to do this by himself. He had full faith in his former apprentice to get the job done.

Just as he thought that, Dark Meiko surprised Ken with a cheap shot to the leg. The dark-haired Jedi dropped to his knee with a cry of pain. Matt's hand went to his lightsaber, ready to jump in and help out, but Ken waved him off.

"No! Stay back!" the Jedi of Kindness grunted through gritted teeth. "I have to do this. I'm the only one who can end this prophecy."

"But Ken–" Mimi started to say.

"I have to be the one to do it! Stay out of this!"

Dark Meiko cackled. "Foolish boy. Just admit it––you cannot defeat me on your own." She swung her lightsaber around twice before pointing it toward him. "You're weak, just like your friends."

Matt's stomach dropped when he saw the look on Ken's face. It was so fiery and bloodthirsty, like the one he always wore when he was the Digimon Emperor. Scanning Ken's energy, the Jedi of Friendship sensed a cloud dampening him. He wasn't sure what it was, but it sent shivers down his spine.

Before he could shout out for Ken to be careful, the dark-haired male charged forward with a throaty roar. His purple lightsaber slammed against Dark Meiko's at a lightning speed. Hers was just as fast, though, and met the challenge well. Matt felt Ken slipping with every second that passed. He did not see this ending well. The hope that had built up within them with Ken's arrival was fading.

As they locked sabers, Dark Meiko tied Ken's arms up like a pretzel and twisted his wrist. He dropped his saber with a pained cry before blasting her off with a Force wave. Dark Meiko didn't go far and flipped back toward him. Ken grabbed his lightsaber and slammed it against hers again.

Matt could not stand to watch a second longer and took two steps toward them.

"Matt, no!" Ken growled. "Stay back!"

But the blonde was not going to honor his request this time. He would not watch Ken die in front of him while he stood by and watched helplessly. Unfortunately, his moment to be a hero was interrupted by the sound of choppers hovering above them. There were three of them and they had lights flashing down on Meiko and Ken, as well as the rest of the group. The mark on their tails told him that they were those of the Self-Defense Forces. Towards the back on the left side, Matt saw the insignia of the SDF: The Rising Sun. Machine guns were pointed out of the open side doors toward the two combatants.

"No!" Matt cried. "Don't shoot!"

But it was too late. An ear-splitting burst of machine gun fire erupted. The bullets, however, never reached their target. They all hung in mid-air as a black aura surrounded Dark Meiko. In the blink of an eye, the bullets were sent back toward the choppers. The sounds of metal being torn and soldiers' pained cries filled Matt's ears. One barrage of bullets tore through the rotating propeller on top of one of the choppers, causing an explosion. The chopper plummeted the ten feet into the bay with a blast of fire.

The sight horrified Matt––this was so unbelievable. As the other choppers were distracted from the damage they took and the downing of one of its comrades, Dark Meiko lifted Ken into the air and chucked him toward the city.

"No!" Matt cried.

The female Dark Jedi was not done quite yet as she used the Force to suspend one of the helicopters in mid-air. The machine gun fired bullets, but she diverted them with a wave of her other hand. With a sadistic grin on her face, she slammed the chopper into the other one. An explosion erupted once again, this time consuming both of them. Fire and burning parts fell to the ground between Dark Meiko and the Destined Jedi. Matt ducked in anticipation of getting hit by burning debris, but none came. He took a peek and saw Joe with his hand thrust up to the sky. A barrier surrounded them and the flaming parts bounced off harmlessly to the ground. He let out a relieved sigh as the barrier fell once the last piece of debris had fallen.

His jaw dropped when he looked back at Dark Meiko. She did that without even thinking. That did it. It did not matter to him whether Meiko was in there or not anymore. This thing needed to be destroyed. That was the only way he could save Meiko––by saving her from herself. The fire split down the middle and was swept aside. Highlighted by the orange glow of the flames was Dark Meiko.

"Now that the pest is gone," she said slowly, "I turn my attention to you."

Matt swallowed the lump in his throat and activated his lightsaber. He heard the others do the same.

This was it.

What will happen next? Find out next time on Revenge of the Infected.

Meiko destroying the choppers and her actions there were inspired by Tetsuo's rampage in Akira (voiced by Tai himself, Josh Seth in the 2001 Pioneer dub) and Mewtwo splitting the fire after destroying the lab in Pokémon The First Movie. Akira influenced how I wrote this chapter a bit, which makes sense seeing as how I have watched it now eleven times since I got the DVD for Christmas.

Hope you guys liked me actually giving the 02 gang a small highlight before the end. Wish they did that in the movie honestly *frown*. Next week, this epic battle comes to a conclusion. Who will survive? Who will die? Tune in next week ;-)

Tootles.
