I looked in my emails and saw that the school starts up next a couple of weeks. So, I had quite a while to prepare for this. Annie came into my room, she was looking at me.

"You don't really know how to use your Quirk, do you?" Annie asked.

"Nope, no idea. All I know is this." I manifested my Quirk to show her.

"Wow, that's like beginner stages of our Quirk. Yikes, you really did forget everything, huh?" She questioned.

"We share the same Quirk? What do you mean? Does it like unify us or something?" I wondered.

I was genuinely confused, what did she mean?

"No. Like I said, our Quirk is called, "Overdrive", it basically enhances our strength, speed and basic senses." Annie told me.

"Do you think you can teach me more about it?" I asked.

Annie looked at me with a dumbfounded look, "I can't exactly do that, your body has to go through training in order to get to those levels. We can go up to 5 Gears of Overdrive."

I nodded, I guess she figured that I understood and left my room. 5 Gears? Couldn't we have called them something else? Maybe I should call it something else then, but another idea hit my head.

"Wait, training? You can train me!" I yelled with excitement.

"Well, at least you still have that determined outlook on things. Alright, we'll start tomorrow, early in the morning." Annie sighed.

"How early is early in the morning?" I questioned.

Annie simply just smiled, and I knew I was gonna be in for a treat.

[The Next Morning...]

I regret everything I said to Annie, training at 4 in the morning?! I know I'll get used to this eventually, but I didn't think we'd be up this early.

"So, Quirks take tolls on people's bodies, which is why it's necessary to improve on them. So, here's what you need to do," Annie stood in front of me with her arms spread out, "Hit me with everything you've got and as fast as you can."

"Okay, here goes!" I exclaimed.

I activated my Quirk and went as fast as I could, but Annie was dodging everything I threw at her!

"What's wrong? Don't tell me you're slowing down already!" Annie smirked.

She was right, I was slowing down! I dashed away from her.

"Geez! I guess I wasn't going all out!" I shouted.

"Get ready, cause here I come!" She yelled.

She darted towards me, faster than what I could've imagined. The first punch she threw I dodged, but I didn't even realize she was going for a left kick! I went flying, but luckily, I rebounded, but she was right there before I could even make a move! What Gear was this? She stopped in front of me and held her hand out.

"That... Was Gear 4!" Annie proudly boasted.

I felt my face drop once she said that.

"G-Gear 4?! That was so fast! How'd you move like that? That was so unreal!" I beamed.

She just smiled as she helped me up, we walked towards the door and there was my father.

"Oh, you two are up early! That's...Honestly surprising." My father chuckled.

"We just got finished with training. He's got a long way to go to get back to Gear 2. Luckily, he's still got control over his Quirk. So at least we won't have to worry about that." Annie told him.

I looked at Annie, "Gear 2? That's where I was at? Also, could I call them "Modes" instead? I like that better."

"Sure, whatever works best for you. I would've stuck with Gears, but that's fine too!" Annie laughed.

I walked back into the house with Annie, "Hey, I've got another question. It's not about my quirk or anything, it's... Something else."

"Hm? What's up?" She responded.

"Do you know what it means when you've got a warm, jittery feeling in your chest if you look at someone? I've been thinking it's because of my Quirk, but I was wanting to ask you before I assumed it." I told her.

She slowly turned around and started smiling, "Shut up! You aren't!"

"I'm not what?" I tilted my head in confusion.

"You aren't falling for that girl you saved from that giant, are you?" She smirked.

I felt my cheeks turn red, "W-WHAT?! NO! I SWEAR!"

"Oh really? Yes or no, you made eye contact with her when it happened?" Annie crossed her arms and started questioning me.

"Yes, of course." I replied.

"You got a warm feeling in your chest when you were near her?" She asked another question.

"Yes, that happened as well." I responded.

"One last question, do you constantly think about her?" I sat there and thought before I answered her question.

"Well... I guess? I think about the whole thing all the time. I'm not sure what that has to-" I answered.

She ran over and gave me a bear hug.

"My little brother's in love! This is soooo cute! I can plan out so many things for you guys!" Annie squealed.

"Y-You're burning... The bacon... Annie..." I managed to say.

"OH MY GOD!" She shouted and ran back over to the stove.

She tried her best to fix the situation, but it didn't really go out well.

"Besides, I don't even think I'll see her again, I mean she WAS cute. So, what's the point of thinking about it? I doubt that's what it is, it was probably just because I used my Quirk." I said as I got up from the floor.

"Oh, come on, Alyx Do you REALLY think that's what caused a burning, jittery sensation in your chest?" Annie questioned.

I nodded and sat down at the table.

[2 Weeks Later...]

These weeks went by like a breeze, and the next thing you know, it was time for the first day of school. I think all that training helped; I feel a lot better about my Quirk. I waved goodbye to everyone and went on my way. Not going to lie, I'm pretty nervous about this, what'll this school be like? The walk there didn't take too long, maybe 4 or 5 minutes? There were a lot of people there, some blonde kid who looked a little terrifying, some bird guy, and a whole lot of interesting people. I bumped into some guy by accident.

"O-Oh my! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!" He yelled.

The kid had green hair and looked like he was afraid of almost everything! He had these red shoes on, I wonder what brand they were? He also clutched a notebook to his chest. I guess he thought I was an older student due to my height.

"Hey, it's alright, I bumped into you, it's my fault." I smiled.

He looked up, almost as if he was shocked by my kindness.

"Oh, t-thank you!" He replied.

The kid seemed completely out of it, then again, it was the first day of school.

"Say, what's your name?" I asked.

"I-Izuku Midoriya." He told me.

"Cool, my name is Alyx Leonidus! You wanna walk to class together? What class are you going to?" I asked.

As we walked inside the school, the inside was massive, it didn't feel like a school at all!

"I'm heading to class 1-A, what about you?" Izuku replied.

I grabbed my paper that I was given when I walked in and looked at it.

"Oh, it looks like we're in the same class!" I showed him my paper.

As we were walking down the hallway, I seen all of the students that were here, and there were a lot of them!

"Hey, weren't you that guy that saved that one girl from that giant? That was really cool! I never thought someone outside of Mt. Lady or All Might could take down someone with a Gigantification Quirk!" Izuku exclaimed.

"Oh, yeah! That was me! Honestly, I'm surprised that I took him down as well!" I told him.

We stopped in front of the Class 1-A door and Izuku gave me a peculiar look.

"What? Is there something on my face?" I questioned.
