A/N: I OWN NOTHING BUT MY CHARACTERS!

~Riley's P.O.V.~

"So you and the school band are preforming at CluckFest this weekend?" I asked Rachel as we walked to school.

"Yeah, apparently Bash is throwing the first nugget and wanted to make a big deal out of it." Rachel replied while rolling her eyes.

Rolling my eyes as well, I said. "Yeah that sounds like Bash all right. Overdoing something that he probably has little underst-"

"BARK!BARK!BARK!BARK!BARK!BARK!"

Tensing as a familiar wave of dread and fear wash over me, I shakily glance towards a fenced house where a large, growling, dog was looking over the fence and barking at us.

ScaryBigSHARPteethrunningscaredHELP!RunningDarkgetawaygetawaygetawaygetawaygetawAYgeTAWAYGETAWAY-!

"RILEY!"

Gasping back into reality, I noticed I had my arms wrapped around my shivering, hyperventilating form and see Rachel standing in front of me while gripping my arms and looking at me calmly.

"Its okay Riley. Your okay. Take deep breaths. Its behind the fence, its not gonna get out and hurt you. Breath, in and out..."

Taking some shaky breaths and exhaling I started to calm down as Rachel led me away from the house. "I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm fine..."

Now in the school yard, Rachel brought me towards a bench to sit and control my breathing.

"Are you gonna be okay? Do you want to go to the nurse?"

I wordlessly shake my head as I take one last big breath. "No, I'm fine. I-I was just caught off guard."

"If your sure..."

"I'm sure." I leaned back on the bench and ran a hand through my hair. "I really need to get over this."

"Riley you were traumatized when you were 7, stuff like that just doesn't go away."

"I know..." A lightbulb goes off in my head. "Buuut, sometimes they can with just a little help."

"Therapy?"

"No- well yes." I dug into my back pack and pulled out the Kunoichi Nomicon. "But I was thinking more along the lines of...mystical."

"Are you sure?" Rachel asked looking a little doubtful. "Cause your book usually speaks in riddles so it might be a more of an headache than a solution."

"True. But this thing is 800 years old. I'm sure it can tell me something to deal with my fear. Not to mention its quicker and less expensive than therapy."

"Well if your sure..."

"I'm sure." I start opening the book. "Watch my body while I'm out."

I then get sucked in.

"Arwoooh!"

~Inside the Kunoichi Nomicon~

When I opened my eyes I see I was floating in a dark void with a green tint.

"Okay Nomicon if it wasn't obvious, I have an immense fear of large dogs. Specifically Wolves and anything bigger than a Shar pei. Do you have anything for me to get over it?"

I yelped when a towering figure of a skeleton suddenly appeared.

The skeleton blew out some fire making a message appear.

-To control your fear, you must embrace your fear-

I stared at the message long and hard before staring blankly at the skeleton.

"..."

"YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR GIBERISH COVERED MIND IF YOU EVEN THINK I WOULD BE WILLING TO HUG ONE OF THOSE SLOBERING BEAST-!"

I was cut off mid-shout as the book pushed me out.

~Back Outside~

"So how'd it go?" Rachel asked as I gasped and opened my eyes.

Groaning in misery, I shut the book and stuffed into my bag.

"That bad?"

"Lets just say you were right and now I have a headache." I commented while rubbing my head.

My best friend just giggled at my pain and started dragging me towards the school building.

After going to our lockers and getting our stuff, we started to make our way to class only to do a double take as Bash and his crew walked by.

"...Did I just see Bash dressed up like giant chicken?" I asked trying to comprehend what I just witnessed.

"Like I said, he wanted to make a big deal out of it." Rachel said casually.

"Aw man, I have to go to CluckFest."

Looking in the direction of the familiar voice, we saw a distraught Randy and a grumbling Howard.

"Geez what's your problem with CluckFest?" I couldn't help but ask as Rachel and I walked over to the two.

When Randy turned to look at us he visibly tensed up with his eyes darting around nervously.

"I- you- chicken-Cluck- not want-"

"Cunningham just doesn't like that Bash is forcing us to go to CluckFest." Howard quickly spoke over his friend's rambling.

"Forcing? Geez," I scoffed while rolling my eyes. "He's just throwing a nugget. Its not like he's receiving the key to the city or something." I then say. "But if guys want we can sit together during the event so it wont be as bad."

Randy just continues to stutter but now in a faster pace. "Yes!-No!- chicken- don't like-yes sit-"

Howard covers Randy's mouth with an exasperated look. "We'll meet you there."

-RRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG!-

Glancing at the clock I said. "Whelp, that's the bell we better get going. See you guys later."

~Randy's P.O.V.~

"Whelp, that's the bell we better get going. See you guys later."

I groaned into my hands when the girls were far enough.

Why am I such a dork?

"Seriously man, I thought you were past the whole stutter-like-an-idiot phase." Howard scolded while looking at me in disappointment.

"I panicked. I thought for a sec she heard me about my fear of chickens." I ran a hand through my hair. "I would have to change schools if she ever found out."

Howard being the oh so helpful friend just rolled his eyes. "Your over reacting. If anything she would laugh for like a second and tease you for the rest of Highschool. But I don't think she would think any less of you."

That did NOT help my state of mind as a million thoughts and scenarios went through my head.

Which were mainly of Riley making fun of me and seeing me as pathetic crybaby.

"Cunningham? Cunningham! Oh for the love of- lets just get to class." I felt Howard push my still body towards our classroom.

Riley can never know.

~Time Skip~

After class and a quick/useless session with the Nomicon, I stepped out of the bathroom feeling exhausted about everything.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Jumping from the sudden screams, I looked out a near by window towards the sound. "Please don't be a chicken!"

Looking closer, I see it was just a giant robot terrorizing the student body.

Sighing in relief, I said. "That's not a chicken, that's a Robo-Cyclops. That I can handle."

Quickly suiting up and running outside after the robot I notice I was joined by my lovely partner.

"Afternoon Kuno, Tis a fine a day for kicking some robo-butt. Wouldn't you agree." I said playfully as we got closer to the scene.

Kuno rolled her eyes in good humor. "Quit right Red; Tis a fine day. But it would probably be better without the screams of terror from our fellow students."

"Couldn't agree more." And with that, the two of us jumped from the building to the ground while dodging incoming laser blasts.

Seeing that we dodged it's blasts, the robot grabbed the flag pole.

This made us pull out our own weapons that we used to deflect the swipe the robot tried to hit us with.

Flipping over the hunk of metal, I landed on a ledge while Kuno landed on the ground below me.

"OK, Cyclops," I jumped on the roof to dodged another attack. "Feast your eye on this!" I then rocketed myself toward the robot and rammed my finger into its eye. "Ninja eye poke!"

Moving out of the way, I watched as the robot flail in pain until Kuno threw her tessen and cut it's head off.

When the robot's body fell to the ground dead, all the students hiding came out and cheered.

"No, please, that's not necessary." I said humbly to their cheers. "Well, OK, if you must here we are."

A large shadow suddenly casted over me making me turn around see a large chicken statue on a truck causing me to yelp in fear. "Ah! Chicken!" Remembering where I was, I tried to wave off my yelp. "Nothing scary about those."

"Ninja?" A hand lands on my shoulder made me yelp again and quickly turn around to see a startled and concerned Kuno. "Uh... are you okay?"

"I'm fine! Fine. Why wouldn't I be fine." I stuttered trying to not look back at the statue. "Its just a giant- gulp- chicken statue." I shakily pulled out a ball. "SmOkeBoMb."

The moment red smoke covered my form I bolted behind the nearest vacant corner.

Tearing off my mask, I rested my hands on my knees taking and took deep breaths to calm down.

"Ahem."

Looking up, I see Howard shaking his head sadly at me.

"...you think anyone noticed?"

"That your afraid of chickens? I don't think so. The Ninja acting weird , oh yeah people noticed."

Face-palming as I dragged my hand down my face in frustration.

After pulling myself together, Howard and I got our stuff and made our way to school's entrance were we saw Bash chase one of the mascots.

Seeing a reminder of my upcoming panic attack, I let my head sag in misery.

Howard saw this and chucked his finished chicken bucket. "We gotta get you over this whole chicken thing! Let's go down to Charlie Clucker's. We'll split a family pack with two sides!"

I give him a look. "Howard, I'm only afraid of them before they're breaded and deep-fried. Have you ever looked in a chicken's eyes? There's nothin' there." I whispered the last part feeling petrified at the mental image.

Shaking off the shivers, we started walking home until we noticed everyone running away in fear from a different thing.

Giant Spiders.

Monkeys.

A guy on a high wheel bike.

Some lady that looked like Howard's mom.

Heck, Julian climbed a light post to get away from a small dog wearing some dark glasses.

"That's weird. " Was all I could say as I watched everything dumbfounded.

Howard had the same expression as he ate more chicken. "What is going on?"

"I don't know." I say before posing confidently. "But I know who's gonna fix it!"

Howard stares at me blankly.

"The Ninja. Ninja's gonna fix it."

Howard laughs in relief. "Ooh, good. 'Cause I do not want to deal with that."

~Third Person P.O.V~

"Stay back, Dr. Feinstein!" Flute girl said to the deranged looking dentist. "I'm not supposed to see you for two more weeks!"

"Hope you've been wearing your head gear!" The dentist laughed sinisterly while pulling out a pair of pliers.

But before the dentist could make a move he was kicked away by the Ninja. "The doctor is out, cold!"

This made Bucky pause in his flee of terror to criticize. "So-so zing, Ninja."

Bucky then continues running as his fear, a minotaur playing smooth jazz on a flugelhorn, came closer.

The instrument was suddenly knocked out of the monster's hands as a swift kick was delivered to the back of it's head.

"Okay, can someone please tell me whats going on?" Kunoichi asked with her hands on her hips and standing next to the fallen creature.

Before either boy could answer her, the minotaur got back up and pulled out soprano sax making Bucky scream.

"Soprano Sax! The most terrifying of all woodwinds!"

This just dumbfounded the two heroes long enough for a robotic rhino to get close to them.

Kunoichi noticed it and nudged her partner. "Uh Ninja."

Ninja looks at it as well in curiosity. "What the juice are you supposed to be?"

The robot said nothing but simply rotated it's horn and zapped Ninja with a purple beam.

"Ninja!" Kunoichi called in worried when the beam stopped. "Are you okay?"

"A little tingly but other than that I'm good."

Howard walks over to the two as they all looked back at the robot that suddenly farted purple smoke.

The boys laughed immaturely at this while Kunoichi rolled her eyes at them.

Howard suddenly gasps and franticly nudges his friend.

Ninja paused in his laughing to look at the clearing smoke only to freeze.

"Uh-oh." Howard winced.

Kunoichi just looked confused. "Chickens?"

"Chickens!" Ninja squeaked in fear.

Kunoichi glances at her partner and was surprised to see him trembling as the flock of chicken started surrounding her and Ninja.

"Oh. Just punch them!" Howard complained.

"So awful!" Ninja cries out not seeming to hear Howard. "Eight toes, dangling wattles. Did you know they have more bones in their necks than giraffes?! "

A light bulb goes off in the female ninja's head.

"Ninja...are you afraid of chickens?"

Ninja glances at his partner shakily before covering his face in shame while whimpering.

Howard glared at the female ninja as if daring her to make fun of his friend but she ignored him and strolled over to her partner to stand in front of him while nudging some of the chickens out of the way.

"Ninja."

He doesn't say anything and continues to hid his face.

Sighing, Kunoichi gently grabbed her partner's wrist to uncover his face. "Ninja it's okay. There just chickens, theres nothing be afraid of. Everything gonna be okkkkkaaaaaayyyyy!"

Kunoichi suddenly gets zapped from the robot rhino.

Hearing it fart, a wave of panic washed over her. "Oh No."

Ninja noticed he was shaking more than usual but saw it was coming from his partner who was still holding his wrists.

Looking at her face he saw an expression of complete terror.

"Kuno?"

"Uh guys!..."

Hearing the panic in his friend's voice, Ninja glanced at him to see him backing away looking frightened.

Following his line of sight, and desperately trying to ignore the chickens, Ninja squinted to see through the purple smoke only for his eyes to nearly pop out of his head.

'Wow that's...Big.' Was all he could think of as he stared at the figure emerging from the smoke.

Causing stalking out of the smoke with gold slitted eyes was a large gray snarling wolf that had its eyes set on a petrified Kunoichi.

Before Ninja could step in and help a familiar call from one of the feathered rats made him start shaking and before anyone knew it, the two heroes were back to back and face to face ot their worst fear.

But before anything could happen a red tractor beam shined on the group and slowly lifted them off the ground and brought them to McFist's hovercraft.

"That can't be good." Howard said to no one in particular as he watched the scene.

"We did it! We got them!" McFist cheered when the two teen sentered the ship and started backing away from their approaching fears.

"They're the closest living creature to the T-Rex still in existence!" Ninja stated in fear. "In existence!"

Kunoichi said nothing but tightened the grip on her partner's arm while not taking hers eyes off the growling wolf.

"Ohh, chickens and a wolf." McFist commented surprised. "That is some sad business right there."

"Tragic." Viceroy said agreeing.

The two teens, followed by their fears, kept walking backwards until they were all inside a green dome that sealed them in.

"The Sorcerer's gonna be so jazzed!" McFist said excitedly.

"A headless chicken can run the length of a football field!" Ninja cried out in horror as he glanced as the herd of chickens. "A football field! With no head!"

Kunoichi just whimpered in response from her position behind her partner.

"That's right, you two! We know your worst fears!" McFist gloated before turning to the robot and giving it a pat. "Who's a good boy? Who did such a good job capturing the Ninja and Kunoichi?"

"Hannibal, that is a highly specialized piece of Ninja/Kunoichi-fighting equipment!" Viceroy scolded his boss. "He is not a pet!"

"Look at him! Look at him!" McFist countered getting behind the robot. "He likes it!"

A slightly harder pat on the behind startled the robot enough to blast Viceroy with a beam.

McFist realized his mistake. "Oh, dear."

The robot farted making McFist back away.

Viceroy stared at the clearing smoke in fright. "Oh, heavens."

When the smoked cleared, a small freckled boy stood there grinning evilly at the scientist.

"It's Stevie Miller! My childhood nemesis!"

"Hey, Viceroy! Drop it like it's snot! " Stevie then blasted a stream of boogers out of his nose at Viceroy who screamed and ducked behind a bench to get out of the line of fire.

"Quit playing with your little friend!" McFist ordered angerly. "We have a Ninja and Kunoichi to destroy!"

Stevie took that moment to turn around and shoot a booger rocket at McFist who ducked.

Unfortunately, the booger hit the robot rhino making it blast McFist with it's beam.

When it farted, McFist looked at the smoke only to flinch back in fright. "Geh! Clown!"

~~With Ninja and Kunoichi~~

"Get it together!" Ninja berated himself. "You're a Ninja! They're just chickens!"

He then took out his sword ready to fight but quickly backed out and used it to bang the side of the dome in order to scare away the flightless birds. "Back up, back up , back up!"

It did nothing.

Groaning in despair Ninja suddenly got an idea. Looking at the wolf that was still just staring down his cowering partner, he said. "Hey look! Yummy chickens!"

The wolf glanced at him and just huffed before returning to stare at Kunoichi.

"Oh come on! Just eat them! Your a wolf aren't you!" He felt his partner nodded against his back seeming to like the idea of the wolf being distracted.

Again nothing.

Ninja whimpered. "I'm freaking out!"

The Nomicon's message then appeared.

-To control your fear, you must embrace your fear.-

Ninja took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and got into the lotus position to meditate. All the while with Kunoichi still cling to his back. "OK, control fear, embrace fear. Embracing fear."

Opening his eyes, Ninja nervously said. "It's all good. You're not feathered rats." He picks up a chicken and started hugging it. "We're embracing, we're hugging...or you are about to peck my eyes out." He shivers as the all the chickens started snuggling the two teens. "We're all friends! Look how many friends I have. Come, and snuggle with us."

After a moment of this, Ninja eyes snapped opened. "I'm not afraid. I just conquered my fears!" He jumps to his feet. "Boom! Fearless! Me!"

Turning to his partner feeling victorious he stopped at the sight of his cowering partner curled into a ball.

Kneeling in front of his partner he said carefully. "Kuno listen, I know this would be the literal last thing you would ever do, but I need you to hug the wolf." He pauses and backtracked remembering this was a dangerous animal. "Better yet, just pet it."

Kunoichi shakily glanced at him, making his heart tighten at the unshed tears, then at the wolf before flinching and curling up even tighter.

Sighing, Ninja gently moved Kunoichi's arms away from her face to look at her in the eye. "Kuno listen to me. I promise nothing bad will ever happen to you. I'll be there with you every step of the way and I will protect you."

It was silent as Ninja waited for an answer and started to feel downhearted by the ongoing silence.

"...you promise?"

The soft shaky voice made him look back at her. His expression became determined as he gave her a firm nod. "I promise."

Kunoichi took a shaky deep breath and got to her feet. "...okay."

"Great." Ninja stood up as well.

"But..."

Ninja looks at her surprised while she glanced to the side embarrassed. "If it isn't problem, Co-could you hold my hand, please."

Normally the request would have made him into a flushed, stuttering mess but knew this wasn't the time.

Grabbing her hand he gave it a reassuring squeeze. "Of course."

Taking another breath, Kunoichi slowly made her way to wolf that was just sitting there seeming to be waiting.

Standing at arms lank of the wolf, Kunoichi gulped and leaned down slightly while bringing a trembling hand closer to the animal but stopped just an inch away.

Staring the wolf dead in the eye, Kunoichi closed hers and gave the wolf a small pat on the head.

Ninja smiled under his masked and gave her hand another squeeze. "Great job Kuno."

Opening her eyes, Kunoichi saw the wolf was waging its tail happily and nudging her hand for more pats.

Nervously laughing, she gave the animal a few more pats while Ninja cheered. "BOOM! Double fearless!"

"No no, I am still completely terrified." Kunoichi said looking like she was about to have a breakdown. "So please hurry up and get us out of here."

Ninja wasn't listening as he taunted the robot. "There's nothing you can do, Rhino-Saurus! We officially have no fear!"

"Nope still do." Kunoichi pointed out while flinching when the wolf licked her hand.

Not like being taunted, the Rhino-Saurus quickly zapped Ninja.

Farting out the new fear, Ninja stared up with wide eyes. "Oh, boy."

The new fear stomped towards the dome making Ninja start shaking again. "OK, Starting to feel fear hereDefinitelyfearGottastaycalmIcanbeatthis."

"Oh my..." Kunoichi gaped not even noticing the wolf running to cower in a corner.

The new fear, a GIANT rooster, gave out a cry as it stared the Ninja down.

"Giant chicken!" Ninja screamed in panic.

The giant rooster broke a hole into the dome and stuck it's head inside to get to the Ninja.

Ninja and Kunoichi quickly ran to the back of the dome to get out of reach as Ninja said. "Oh, it's disgusting! I can see its gizzard!"

"Hating today!" Kunoichi complained. "So much!"

The Nomicon's message appeared again making Kunoichi send her partner a look of pity.

Ninja moaned upset. "Oh, man, I gotta hug the rooster!"

Cautiously moving closer, Ninja waited for the right moment before jumping onto the roosters neck with Kunoichi doing the same.

Now out of the dome and on the giant poultry's back, Ninja grabbed it's waddle like a rein all the while moaning. "Ugh! I'm embracing my fear! And it's awful! "

"Hang in there Red!" Kunoichi encouraged while wrapping her arms around his waste in order to stay on.

McFist, who was cowering behind a bench from the clown, saw this. "The Ninja and Kunoichi are escaping!" He quickly pressed a nearby button. "Get them!"

A door opens and a dozen robo-apes pile in and start rushing the two heroes and their feathery steed.

"I'm riding my fear." Ninja complained as he steered the chicken down a hall. "I hate this so much."

The two heroes and ride raced down the endless hallways with the robo-apes hot on their tail.

Ninja was miserably spitting out feathers. "Ugh, feathers in my mouth."

"Ninja look!" Kunoichi pointed down the hall that had an emergency exit.

Ninja quickly threw a ninja ring at the switch that opened the door to the clear sky. "Run, rooster, run!"

The rooster ran faster and jumped out of the hovercraft.

Glancing behind them, Kunoichi saw that the robots, including Rhino-Saurus, fell out of hovercraft as well.

Ninja cheered as the rooster flew through the air. "Yes! Soar, mighty rooster, soar!"

The rooster cawed making the two teens remember what they were ridding. "Oh, right. The longest sustained flight by a chicken or rooster is only 13 secoooooonnnnnnddddddssssssss!"

Ninja and Kunoichi yelled as they tightened their grip on the bird as all three fell out of the sky at a fast rate.

"Hold together, baby! Just a few more seconds!" Ninja cheered on the chicken as it glided towards the school. "Thank you, noble bird. Perhaps you are not as disgusting as I thought."

The rooster cawed then disappeared in a puff a smoke.

"Ugh! I take it back!" Ninja said after getting a face full of smoke. "That was shnasty!"

"I really hate today." Kunoichi said blankly despite falling from several thousands feet in the air.

Ninja noticed the school's upper flag pole, grabbed his partner by the waste, and used his scarf to swing them back to the ground safely.

A crowed that was standing near by cheered.

Ninja and Kunoichi smiled at each other and high-fived. "Yes!"

And with that, they smoked bombed away.

The whole school surrounded the amphitheater for CluckFest.

Bash in his chicken suit rose up onto stage. "Whoo! Yeah! It's a good thing all youse showed up to watch me throw out this nugget! Otherwise, I would've had to punch you in the guts!"

A near by baton team member cheered at Bash and gestured to the bun in her hand.

"Here you go, sweetheart." Bash threw the nugget with bad aim and ended up hitting one of his groupies making him let go of a rope to a large chicken balloon that ended up crashing straight into Bash's gut making him wince. "Right in the guts!"

Randy, Riley, Rachel, and Howard, who were sitting at a table, all laughed hysterically at the scene.

"Haha! Aren't you glad you conquered your fear so you could see that?" Howard asked Randy.

"I am." Randy admitted. "But I didn't exactly conquer my fear. I just embraced it."

"What does that mean?" Howard asked confused.

"I don't know, man." Randy shrugged. "We hugged a rooster at 35,000 feet. I guess they don't freak me out as much anymore."

"I still cant believe you willing pet a wolf." Rachel said to Riley who shuddered at the memory.

"Yup. And unless our lives are in danger, I am never doing that again. Ever."

"I think you did okay." Randy complemented making Riley smile and blush a bit.

A chicken then walks on the table startling Randy. "Ah, chicken!"

Howard laughs at this.

The other three rolled their eyes as Riley moved the chicken away.

"Oh, what, like you're not afraid of anything?" Randy challenged.

"Nothing comes to mind." Howard sticks his hand into his chicken bucket only to gasp. "Ah! Chicken's gone!" He falls to his knees in despair. "Nooooooooooooo!"

His friends stare at him blankly. "Really?"

A small happy jingle makes Rachel take out her phone. "Hello? Oh hey, your here? Where? Okay, we'll be there in a sec."

She turns to Riley. "Rides here, come on. Bye Randy, bye Howard."

Rachel walks off but Riley hesitates for moment while glancing at Randy. "Randy listen...I just- I wanna say thank you for what you did the other day with the whole wolf thing."

Randy rubs the back of his head bashfully. "Your welcome. It was nothing really. I mean your my partner and friend of course I'm going to help-"

A pair of soft lips on his cheek stops his rambling and freeze up.

Riley backs up and gives him a warm smile. "Really though, I appreciated it. See ya."

Riley then quickly walks away with flushed cheeks while leaving behind a frozen Randy and a gaping Howard.

"Duuuude..." Howard whispered in shock at what just happened.

Randy says nothing for a moment until he fell backwards in a lovesick heap and dazed laugh.

Staring at the clouds in a daze, Randy sighed happily. 'Nothing could be better than this.'
