From watching the videos of the Denver games, they were good and played serious football. They didn't have the best quarterback, the fastest runners or the toughest linemen, but there were well disciplined, made no mistakes, and had plenty of play variations. Denver was 4-1 wins to losses so far. The team with the most wins in the East, except for Austin who was now 5-0. Scrutinizing the plays neither Coach Baker nor Joan could find any weaknesses in them either. This was sure to be a good game.
Going to Austin first to gather and catch the plane north, they team landed and pretty much filled the hotel. Denver got a lot of tourists and it was a popular ski town. The snow covered mountains that surrounded Denver were breathtaking, plenty of people came here. Hence, plenty of hotels. Going into town on the bus that picked them up from the airport, Joan also noted the Eastern Championship games was advertised on posters here and there around town. One a the hotel had a picture of Joan on one side, and the Denver quarterback, Martha Good on the other. Under the pictures was a question 'WHO WILL WIN? COME AND SEE!' Below was ticket information.
Good, was a proper name for Martha, Joan thought. She was good. Not great, but like the rest of her team, a solid player. This should be a fun game.
Arriving late, it was dark by the time they got checked in. Since the game was tomorrow, it was dinner then an easy night in the hotel. There were reporters hanging around the hotel, so Joan, Allison and Bob went up to their room where the snacked a bit and played some before going to bed.
In the morning after breakfast, a reported did corner the trio.
"Joan Connor?" the happy looking man asked.
"Yes?" Joan replied, then added, "This is my left side receiver, Allison."
"Wow, are you two always together?"
"We live down the road from each other, so yes. we've know each other since we were babies," Joan explained.
"You can say we're essentially sisters," Allison added.
"Joan, you've had some pretty impressive victories for a rookie quarterback. How do you see this game going?"
"Our team has had some pretty impressive wins," Joan said. "It takes everyone on the team doing their job the best they are able, to make that team function. I know the quarterback position is the one that stands out, but that's not the only important spot."
"Well said!" the reporter agreed. "How do you think your team will do today?"
Joan grinned and said, "I'll tell you after the game is over. I don't make predictions. I will tell you Denver has a good, solid team and to take them lightly would be a mistake."
"Austin has a 5-0 record to Denver's 4-1. Do you think that will have any bearing on the game?"
"I don't. We don't worry about the standing. We go out to play each team as we meet them. I will say we are happy to be in the playoffs, each player had worked hard to get here. I'm sure every player on the Denver team is the same. We will go out and try out best. How it turns out, is yet to be seen."
"You are aware all your fans call you Dynamite?"
Joan laughed, "Yes, I've heard that a few times. I just don't want to blow up. I'm sure that would hurt."
The reporter and the gaggle around them laughed. Joan just now noticed they were drawing a crowd.
"Can I ask a question?" a woman in the crowd asked.
"You just did," Joan said with a smirk.
"Yes, ask your question," the reporter told her.
"Joan, don't you feel demeaned by wearing those skimpy uniforms?"
Joan frowned. "No. I wish the NFL would make their guys wear skimpy uniforms too. Then maybe I'd watch those games."
Some laughing and clapping sounded.
"But, it's like your teams demand you be seen as sex objects!" the woman protested.
"Got a question for you," Joan said, "Do you wear all your clothes to the beach?"
"I have a one piece bathing suit," the woman said.
"Why not say, a shirt and pants?" Joan asked.
"Those would be cumbersome to swim in." the woman replied. "And on the football field isn't the beach."
"Correct. However, having short clothes does allow us to move more freely, hence be faster and more able to react to the changing conditions," Joan explained. "If guys enjoy it, fine. You do know the original athletes in Greece wore nothing, just for the reason they could move better and possibly gain an advantage on the opponents."
"This isn't ancient Greece, It's modern America."
"The rules of physics still apply. Football is still fun, and if I don't mind our uniforms, why should you?" Joan asked.
"It's sexist!"
"Only because the men's league makes them cover up so much," Joan countered.
"Women's football isn't real football!"
Joan frowned at her. "You tell that to the girls who get taken off the field on stretchers because they took a hard hit and broke a bone or pulled one of their joints out of place, or got taken off the field because they got a concussion! I've already seen that a few times and this is my first year in pro-ball. Everyone out there plays their hearts out knowing they could well be injured. Don't you DARE say we don't play real football! IF that's what you think, I can tackle you right here and now. You can tell me if it feels real or not!"
The woman turned and stomped away.
Joan asked the reporter, "Was it something I said?"
More laughter sounded. Behind Joan, their team cheered.
At the time, Joan had no idea this interview would be played on the big screens at the stadium just before the game began. The interview got a roaring cheer from the crowds, and Joan became a little better known.
.
Heading out to the bus to go to the stadium, many reporters were taking pictures of them. A video camera watched them get off the bus at the stadium. The only thing different in the pre-game talk before they went out, was the coach had brought some colored blankets with him.
"We taking a nap?" Allison asked, looking at the blankets.
Quickly , Joan said, "Naw, he things we're ugly and want to cover us up."
That got her some giggles
"No, for a psychological advantage, or so I'm told," the coach said with a chuckle. "Patty, Joan, Allison," he said handing out blankets the color of their hair. You three, no helmet or shoulder pads going out. You can put them on after the anthem during the coin toss. When you go out, throw the blanket off and roar, flex, flips, whatever you can think of to look mean. Then join the line."
"I wish Sonya was here," Joan said with a grin.
Allison laughed. "No shit! She makes people nervous just by looking down in them! She flexes, and her torso looks like a friggin cobra!"
Coach Baker asked, "Sonya's a big girl?"
"Seven four and all muscle," Joan told him.
"She's an Amazon?" Roberta asked.
"Holy shit," Betty whispered.
Allison told her."Sonya did a pro wrestling thing. She jumped from the floor and up over the ropes to get in the ring, grabbed two wrestlers, one in each hand and picked them up off their feet."
"Red Sonya rocks," Joan stated.
"Unless she's part of the team, it's you three who go out and try to do the cobra flex in front or the crowd," Coach Baker told them.
Patty got up, "Guys, like this," She flexed and curled her arms forward. "See, it compacts you chest a little making your sides look bigger."
Patty did show an impressive 'V' shape. While they waited to go out, Joan and Allison practiced flexing. Coach Baker gathered their helmet and shoulder pads. "Denver is going out in the field first, then us," he told them. After he left, Joan had a plan to come out a different way than he said.
.
Jack and Jay stood to either side of the big TV screen showing an entrance to the field. "This is the Eastern division playoff! Austin versus Denver. The winner of this game goes to play the Western division winner for the Cup. Jay, how do you think it will go?"
Jay shook his head. "I gotta tell ya Jack, Denver has shown themselves a team to be reckoned with. Austin, however as shown to be a Monster team so far this year. If I was putting money down on this game, I'd have to bet on Austin. Joan Connor, Allison Young, Patty Gerrigan, Carla Santos, they all are playing fantastic, and seem to swap being MVP of the game. Between Joan Connor's quarterbacking, which seems flawless, Allison's speed and catching the ball every time she's a receiver, and a few times as safety. Patty's line breaking and sacks, and Carla's line breaking and great performance, I have to go with Austin."
"I have to say, Martha Good is going to have her hands full against Joan Connor," Jack agreed. "Both have a solid defense but I do think Austin's offense is going to be real tough to stop. If they manage to even slow it down, they will be doing something no one else this year has done."
Jack then said, "And here comes Denver!"
The Denver team ran out of the tunnel and formed a big circle to stretch their hands in and toss them up to give a cheer. The crowd cheered with them.
"They look ready to play," Jay noted.
The scene shifted. "Now Austin is coming out." Jack said.
The Austin players came out in two lines. Stopped at the edge of the tunnel, then they all motioned to the middle. A red covered figure came out, looking like her head was down. As she reached the past players, she threw the blanket off, flexed and roared, shaking her head to make her hair fly. She did a forward flip in the air then roared again as she flexed.
"Wow," Jay said "Patty Gerrigan down have some muscles to her!"
Next down was a player in a dark brown blanket. At the end of the line of players, she threw the blanket off and jumped to do a double flip in the air, landing to flex and roar.
"Damn!" Jack noted. "Where does Joan hide that muscle? Look at those abs! She looks rock hard!"
Next was a lighter brown blanket. Allison erupted out of it in a flip to land, flex and roar.
"She looks like a cobra too!" Jay noted. "Finely chiselled... everything!"
Joan wave a hand, the three got together in a small circle facing each other, the rest of the team ran out to circle them. They all flexed and roared then turn to roar face out and roar again. They then ran over to get in teams in like, and the national Anthem was played. After that Joan, Allison and Patty got their shoulder pads and helmets on during the coin toss.
.
Joan got dressed and watched the ref. The toss went to Denver. Their Defense ran out to kick the ball. Patty made the kick, high and long. Austin raced down the field. A player caught it at the outside edge of the end zone and dropped to her knee just before Allison got to her. Allison deflected herself to the side to run into the backstop.
"Almost," Joan said.
"Rule is, when the ball's in the air, it belongs to whoever grabs it," Coach Baker said. "Allison damn near had it."
Denver broke their huddle and lined up on the 15 yard line. At the hike Martha spun and ran between the receivers, then a bit farther to turn and cock back with nothing. The right side receiver ran farther back, the left side receiver raced for the edge if the field. Covering the receivers, more on the left thinking she had the ball, the Austin players left a big hole in the center. The left side receiver was taken down. Martha ran, the right side receiver cocked back and threw. Patty jumped for it and missed. Martha caught it and raced through the hole.
From tackling a receiver who didn't have the ball, Allison got up to chase her. Denver players were around her blocking her. Martha was halfway down the field by the time Allison broke out of the mob around her. Patty too was bumped into a couple time before she could get clear to run. Running as fast as they could, Allison gained ground on Martha, but did not catch her before she reached the end zone.
The crowd roared, nearly drowning out, "Touchdown, Denver!"
Joan filed that play away, That was a good one.
Denver tried an extra point with the same play. This time, Allison and Patty focused on the receivers, and the rest of the defenders focused on Martha. At the hike, Carla and Patty broke the pocket. Again Martha didn't have the ball, but Carla stayed by her and raised a hand. Looking closely, the runner in front of Allison didn't have the ball either. She raised her hand. The other receiver turned to throw and Patty tackled her. Denver didn't get the extra point.
"Joan, get that ball to the end zone," Coach Baker said.
Joan began talking before the huddle was formed. "Allie, you take my left, Patty, take by right, we bulldoze down the center. Roberta, you're left receiver, Betty, you're right keep the safeties away. Everyone push hard into them and peel that middle wide open. Let's go!"
Right after Joan was in place, she called, "15,13, HIKE!" On the hike, she pushed on her middles' back forcing the girl in front of them back and down on her back. Her center fell on her. Allison and Patty pushed their defenders to the side. Joan jumped over the players on the ground in front of her and ran hard. She left the mixed gaggle behind. The right side safety got clear to chase her. The girl wasn't fast enough to catch her.
Touchdown, Austin.
They tried for a two extra points. Joan set up the same, causing the safeties to come in closer to the middle. At the hike though, Joan took off to the left running hard while Allison and Patty split the middle. A safety ran for her, but free of the line, Allison bounced against her. Joan made the end zone.
Score, Austin 8, Denver 6.
Watching their screen, Jay said, "This is going to be one exciting game! Denver got first blood, but Austin quickly topped the score! This could turn out to be a real battle!"
"This may turn into a battle of wits," Jack said. "By Denver's first play, they knew to get Allison and Patty tied up so Martha could have a free run."
"That was a smart move on Denver's part. We'll have to see if they can keep doing that."
The next play, Denver again had the receivers close behind Martha. In a variation of their close pass play, after the hike the center let Austin though and charged out to receive. Martha got the ball off before she was taken down. The center caught it and made seven yards before she was tackled. Austin stopped the run, but Denver did move down field. With plays like this, they made another five yards, then eight, then six, working their way down field.
In trying to cover the last 12 yards to the Austin end zone when they were on a 3rd down, Martha threw a pass a half second before she was tackled. The ball didn't make it to the receiver, Betty caught it. She ran and made it out to the 21 yard line before she was taken down. Interception and Turnover.
Mid-field was the perfect place for a long bomb. Going back out on the field, Joan called a long bomb and Allison took the left receiver position again. At the hike Joan raced back, turned and spotted Allison near the end zone, clear. She threw. The ball flew fast, Allison caught it and stumbled into the end zone. Touchdown. Reforming they went for the extra point and got it.
15-6
Denver did another long struggle down field. This time Martha didn't try a long pass, but kept pushing with short passes and runs. At the three yard line, she got in the shotgun to look like she was going to pass, then on the hike, ran at the ball and angled towards the right of the line. She plowed into the line as Patty plowed into her from behind. Stumbling and a dive, she made two yards. Then she made the last yard. Touchdown Denver. Again they tried for the extra point and didn't get it.
It was the end of the first quarter, score Austin 15, Denver 12. This was the closest game Joan ever had, and it was exciting.
Through the second half, Denver kept pushing down the field. Then Austin would get the ball and make a touchdown, then Denver would get their turn to push down the field again. They each got two touchdown before the second Quarter was over. Unfortunately, Denver had yet to make an extra point.
Jack said, "For Austin this is a tight game. The score is Austin 29, Denver 24. Although Denver is behind five points, a single touchdown will put them ahead."
"It is a battle out there," Jay agreed. "Austin has been picking up their extra points, and kept Denver from doing so. Both teams are playing very well. Of course I think they both know that right now, a single error can boost Denver into the lead, OR put this game out of reach for them."
"There's much at stake for every play," Jack agreed, "Then again, this is what a championship game should look like. There is no doubt that Austin has the stronger offence, but Denver is playing it smart and using everything they have to try and take the lead back. "
Jay announced, "And here they come for the second half!"
They had talked about it during the break. Although Denver had a lot of tricks, their defense was learning those tricks, and Joan had accouple she'd yet to use. Going out for the 3rd quarter, it was Denver's ball. Joan and the coach agreed, they would play the 3rd quarter the same.
They did, and the results were the same. Denver got two Touchdowns. After each Denver touchdown, Austin got one, then another. Denver added 12 more points to have 36, Austin added 14 more points to make theirs 43. As the 4th quarter began, Coach Baker said, "Now, go stop them."
Having the ball from their drive down field, Martha hiked and tried to run through on the left. Allison jumped in front of her and instead of tackling, grabbed her arms and pushed Martha back. Struggling, Martha tried up move an arm to let her receiver or someone take the ball. Allison obliged. In a fast move, she let to go Martha and then shouldered into her as she snatched the ball away. Martha went down, Allison bolted and raced away. The Denver team was too slow to catch her.
Interception and touchdown, Austin. They tried for the extra point and got it, raising their score to 50. Denver had their try again and tried for a run, Martha keeping the ball. Roberta hit her to being her down on the line of scrimmage. No gain. Martha then tried the doupbe, pass, and knowing it was coming, Allison caught the ball as it sailed to the second receiver. Again she raced back to the end zone with a couple Denver players chasing her.
56- 43, then they got the extra point. 57-43.
Denver tried hard and worked their way down the field, only getting 3 or 4 yards with every play. Just past mid-field, a mis-pass between Martha and a receiver, the ball was dropped. Patty dove on it.
Coach Baker clapped Joan on the shoulder and said, "We want to be in possession when the timer runs out. You have a minute 40 to get to the end zone. If you get another touchdown, don't make it before there is less than two seconds of play left."
"Play it tight, huh?"
"Very tight," he told her.
"This will be interesting," Joan said with a smirk.
In the huddle, she said,"I'm doing a line jump we only need ten yards to keep a first down." Joan got in the shotgun, then hiked. She charged the ball and found a good spot right over her center. She leaped, ran down to the next solid yard marker 12 yards away, then pretended to slip and fall.
Huddle and they got set up again with 56 seconds left in the game.
Again, Joan did a line jump and ran another 11 yards then stopped and took a knee. by the time they set up again, 26 seconds were left on the clock. Joan looked at Coach Baker, he signaled 'take a knee'. Joan did. After all Denver played a good game, she didn't want to humiliate them with a last-second touch down. She hiked then dropped to a knee. She then watched the clock run down.
The announcer called, "Austin Acoustics win the Eastern Championship, 56 to 43!"
The team met to shake hands. Joan went over to Martha and upon grabbing her hand to shake it, Joan pulled her close. "Great game!" Joan told her, and patted her back.
Martha smirked and said, "It would be better of we won."
In a serious tone, Joan told her, "You did a fantastic job out there, as did your whole team. Hey, you got more points on us than anyone ever has."
"And so did you. That was a real good game … Miss Dynamite."
They smiled at each other and then continued shaking hands with the opposing team.
.
On the plane home, Coach Baker announced, "Listen up! Seattle has won the Western Conference title. In two weeks we play them in Las Vegas for the Cup! Now, as far as compensation goes, Just to be in that game gets everyone a 50% bonus. If we win the Cup, it's double pay for everyone."
All the players cheered and applauded. Football was fun, it was also good to get paid well to do it. Joan figured it out, even if they didn't win, she'd earn a half million dollars this season. Winning the Cup, it would be another 75,000 more. And that wasn't adding Bob or Allison's money. They could definatly afford to get Bob a car, as well as Allison.
.
The sheriff was getting ready to leave for the day. Aliana had all the paperwork filed and went in back to turn the light off. He felt someone outside and moved towards the thin box under the windowsill. By the feel, this was an old immortal. The door opened and a ragged looking man came in. He took a drink from the mostly empty whisky bottle in his hand.
"Want a duel?" the drunken man asked.
The sheriff tipped his head slightly. "I would think you should go home and go to bed, then come back tomorrow if you wish to have a hope of keeping your head."
The man chuckled, "Yeah, heard you were the fair type. Look, I'm really, really tired of this. You got any idea what it's like to go on with the entire world hating you?" he asked and stumbled up to lean against the sheriff's desk. "Do you know how frustrating it is that suicide doesn't work? And being damned, no one will even fight with me? Well a couple did, then just stabbed me and left me, after they took everything I had of course."
"I'm Connor McLeod, and you are?" the sheriff asked.
"Shit, you don't know me?" the man asked in disbelief. "I thought everyone did. My name is Judas. Judas Iscariot."
"I can see your dilemma," the sheriff said evenly. "Perhaps a change of name and get a job someplace will make things a little easier on you? How long have you been Immortal?"
Judas waved a hand and said, "Ever since I hung myself for turning Him in. Good job all the priests told me. You saved all of us, we will always remember you forever for this!" He cast the sheriff a glare. "Yeah, I'm remembered all right. It's not enough I saw Him beaten bloody, whipped to within an inch of His life, then hung up on a tree! Did you know my name now means traitor? Even today? All of us wrote down our experiences with Him. The supposed Bible now? It has Paul's accounts, Peter, everyone except for mine and Mary's and WE were the closest ones to Him! I read some of those and their words AND HIS have been twisted so badly over the centuries! Mine, aren't even in there. Neither are Mary's, and they turned Mary into ... a whore! The kindest, most loyal women ever, and in these supposed 'Christian' bibles, she's nothing but a filthy whore! There is no mention at all of their daughter. At least she got to live her life then die. Me? I get to keep going on as the eternal traitor!"
Aliana came in during his rant and stood watching him. He turned his head to eye her.
"OH my, you're still around?" she asked.
"You!" he spat. "You are the one who made people hate Him! You are the one who got Him crucified!"
Aliana shrugged. "You're talking about that Jesus guy? My Master told me to. I thought you hung yourself?"
"I DID!" he spat at her. "I also didn't drop far enough to die right away. Are you happy about that? And who is your Master?"
"Right now, it's Connor. Back then, I believe his name was Caiaphas. He was a head priest."
"A priest had a demon whore?" Judas cried.
She shrugged. "He paid my previous Master for me. If you think any of those priests were celibate, think again. They were men of power, and those types don't practice what they preach. Why do you think they had Jesus crucified? He was ruining their business. Men of power do whatever they have to to keep their power. That is one thing that never changes. Very very few will even give the common person anything but a glance, and if some common person does something they really don't like, that person is crushed to teach others a lesson. In two thousand years, you haven't figured that out?"
The sheriff raised an eyebrow. "That was a business decision?"
"It was. He was going around telling people they didn't have to go pay to hear their prayers heard. The Priests didn't like their drop in attendance. It was less money coming in. They insisted he was going to start a revolution against the Romans and told people that, when it was they who wanted to get rid of Roman influence," Aliana told him.
"This is a new take I never heard before." The sheriff noted.
"Since when are dirty deals not kept secret?" she asked.
He laughed at that. "Good point."
"The Romans weren't after Jesus?" Judas asked. "They were always around him. They sent spies."
Aliana said, "They did. I was sent to listen to their reports. The head General in Judea? He liked Jesus, because Jesus was preaching peace and good will. He was working to get people to accept the Romans for their own peace of mind. Where do you think those roads came from and those towns? What do you think paid for those new roads and new towns? Taxes. Going to spy on him myself, I hear him tell a crowd to give the Romans what the Romans were due, and give God what God was due. He warned Jerusalem was in for a bad time if they didn't. You know what? he was right. It wasn't that many years later the priests did get people to revolt, and the Romans came down hard on them. The priests were angry at him and angry the Romans wanted to let him keep preaching. That's why they came up with charges to get him arrested for dumping over a couple tables in the temple, and kicking people out. They made up more charges then staged a riot, which they paid many to participate in, so the Romans would kill him to placate the mobs and stop the rioting."
Looking at Judas, Aliana told him, "You were a pawn. Yes, you were used. But hey, at least you're famous."
"Am I suppose to be happy about that?" he asked in a shout.
She shrugged. Turning her attention to the sheriff, she said, "Connor, if you're going to stay and talk, I can go home and get dinner started if you want."
"I'm coming," the sheriff said. He looked Judas over and said, "You don't even have a sword."
"Can't use one anyway. Mine got taken the last time someone stabbed me and they left me for dead."
The sheriff said in a musing tone, "Then you need to stay on holy ground. Ever think of becoming a priest?"
Judas scowled at him, then hit him over the head with the whisky bottle.
He spent the night in jail.
.
School was going to start soon. Jackie wanted to go see Daniel one last time before school began. She agreed to drain her allowance to pay for the flight. No adult was able to go with her due to commitments, so John arraigned for Barnabas to pick her up at the airport and drop her off there in the appointed days. John found a private flight was already going to NYC, he arraigned for the flight to continue north to drop Jackie off. Another plane was scheduled to being her back. Jackie was happy to go, Daniel was happy she was coming and yes, they were going to the Fencing center on her three day trip. Delilah was home briefly so she took Jackie to the airport before catching a plane herself back to Nashville to keep training her football team.
The plane Jackie was taking was a two prop engine overhead wing plane. It only had 12 seats inside, six on each side. Jackie hugged her mother goodbye and boarded the small plane. Not ever having ridden in a plane like this before, she didn't pay took much attention to the louder rumbles of the wheels. She also thought the small creaks she hear when they got airborne was probably normal. In the second seat back from the cockpit where sh watched the pilot fly, this was an interesting flight.
Th flight was also long, but they were flying lower, way below the clouds. Jackie amused herself by watching the pilot fly and watching the landscape below them. For a while, she could even make out the plane's shadow on the ground. When they were passing over forest, she head a loud beeping from the cockpit. The pilot, and the co-pilot that she couldn't see due to the wall between her and him, spoke. The co-pilot said, "Awww shit!"
The pilot called on the radio. He said the word twice before he rambled on about something else. Was Mayday a holiday? The engine on the other side started making strange noises. Black smoke shot out of it behind them.
They were in trouble. A woman on the other side took on a horrified look.
When the other engine made a loud BANG, Jackie ducked. Part of the bang hit the woman, splashing her blood on Jackie and something flew over her head to burst out her side of the plane and hit the engine still working. This wasn't good!
Air whistled through the inside, wind blowing around them now and others were screaming, including the pilot. Nope, this wasn't good at all. The engine by her made screeching noises, stopped and caught fire. She also noticed they were getting closer to the ground. The fire was right outside where she was sitting, so was the big hole in the plane. Instead of blowing back to make a along trail, when they hit the ground, the fire would be on her.
Between the air blowing around the screaming and hearing something loudly snap, Jackie knew it wasn't safe to be here any more. They were about to pass over a mountain top, beyond was a lake. She decided to jump and take her chances in the lake. Jackie ripped her seat belt off and dove through the hole. The wind knocked her back, catching her foot on the jagged edge of the hole. Instead of a smooth dive out the hole, she ended up spinning as she fell. Below the mountaintop was spinning in her vision and she although it was hard to keep it in focus, she could tell she wasn't going to make it to the lake.
"Fuck Me!" she screamed as she fell on the downside of the mountain and into the trees.
The plane didn't go much farther. Losing altitude, it passed over the lake and drove into the side of the mountain on the other side of the lake, making a big fireball as it impacted.
.
The Mayday call was answered by a rescue helicopter. The helicopter arrived twenty minutes later, the area where the plane hit was still burning. firefighters were called to help put out the blaze. Not until the fire was put out were rescue personnel allowed to be lowered down onto the site. Upon seeing the wreckage, it was determined that no one lived through the crash. The list of personnel on board was used to make the report of how many, and who had died in the crash. Forensics was called to identify and separate as much of the bodies as they could find.
