A/N: Sorry, for the long update, but I have to get adjust to many things. Hopefully, I will be constant again, because I have many stories that I would like to write. Yet, I want to complete this one first -which will be soon- before I start them. One is a Damian and Raven AU story.

Thanks for continuing to read my stories.

Sound the Alarm

"No, you don't need to come back to work. I'm more than capable of handling everything here," Cyborg said on the phone. He paced in his room at the Titans Tower. He was trying to calm his nerves; however, it wasn't helping.

He paused to listen to what Amy had to say before speaking again. "Listen, everything will be okay. The team and I are handling everything with the authorities. Just stay where you are. You deserve a nice, long vacation."

He stopped to listen to her again. He laughed this time. Amy always had a way of uplifting his spirits. "Don't worry. Even if I spend the rest of my life in jail, I will make sure that you will still get paid. Now, get off the phone and enjoy your vacation."

She replied with an okay. And right before she could hang up the phone, he stopped her. "Hey, have Willow contacted you?" He listened to her as she gave him a response that he didn't want to hear.

"No, it's okay. You don't have to try and call her. She is probably busy." He paused and listened. "You're right. Maybe her phone died or something. I'm sure that she will contact me when she can. Alright, go and enjoy your vacation now. I'll talk to you later. Bye."

After Amy said her goodbyes, he hung up the phone with a sigh as he sat in a chair. Yesterday had been a whirlwind of shock and stress. He never thought that he would spend a moment in a cell jail.

He thought back to where he sensed the day was going to wrong.

"We're done." Victor stared at the computer in shock. He couldn't believe that they were finished. What had started off as a simple side project months ago had morphed into a never-ending headache. Each piece of information that they found took them down another rabbit hole.

"We're done?" Willow looked at him across the board table with disbelief before a big grin formed on her face. "We're done!" She shouted excitedly. "I can't believe that we are finished."

"This calls for a celebration." He announced with a grin on his face as well. "You and me and a romantic night on top of the Titans' Tower." He watched as her beautiful smile turned into a frown.

"I can't. I have to go out of town for a meeting tonight. Remember. That's why we meet during our lunch break today."

He frowned. He had forgotten that Willow had suggested working on the old CTO's data during their lunchtime since they wouldn't get as much work done at the Tower. Although, he didn't remember her ever mentioning a meeting.

"Then, we have to schedule it when you get back."

"Sure," she replied with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I'm looking forward to it."

A nagging sensation entered into his hardware. He couldn't explain it, but something wasn't right with the angel that he had fallen in love with.

"Willow -"

"So, what are you going to do with the data now that we are finished with it?" She asked. He had to blink, wondering if he imagined the aggressive undertone in her voice as she cut him off.

"Hmm," He shook his head mentally. He was probably imagining things. "The right and legal thing to do is to give the evidence to the police."

"But you don't want to?" She looked at him curiously.

"No," He sighed. "I'm not one to talk bad about the police, but they have been dragging their feet on this case. Besides, those two cops are not the most trustworthy people," he explained. "If I saw some of the efforts that they are supposedly putting in, then I wouldn't have mind. Frankly, I wished that the Titans could handle the case. But…."

"Conflict of interest," she finished for him.

"Yeah." He let out a breath. "I wished, I never hired him." The late CTO was a nightmare.

"Well, you don't have to think about it too much today. I'm sure that you are going to have a busy day."

"I am?" He asked confused. He was positive that his agenda for today was light with only boring meetings sparkle throughout the day.

"You are." She reassured him with a weird smile.

He was going to ask her what she meant when they were interrupted by a knock on the conference room door.

"Come in," he said, causing the door to open, revealing a young, Indian man.

"Yes?" He asked his temporary secretary. Raj would be working at the company for a week until Amy got back.

"You told me to come in and talk with you ten minutes before your one o'clock meeting so that we can go over some information."

"Is it that time already?" He looked at his clock in his system.

"Well, I will leave you two alone and get back to work." Willow announced gathering her items. "I hope that everything will work out for you today."

It was those last words which he thought about as he was placed in handcuffs, as he sat in the back of the police car, and as he waited in the jail cell.

It was those words that hunted him for some odd reason. He wondered if he was missing something. Yet, what he wondered about the most was if she was doing okay.

The alarm in system inside of his body went off, informing him that the Titans' meeting with be soon.

He left the room with loud thoughts and a heavy heart.

Raven and her emoticlones watched as Mari rolled on the ground. Her knees were drawn to her chest while her hands cradled her head. Tears of rivers flowed from her closed eyelids.

Blood-curling screams of pain tore from her lips.

"What is wrong with her?" Raven asked the emoticlone in yellow.

Knowledge pushed her glasses up and answered. "I simply do not know. However, there seems to be an internal power struggle between us and her."

"Power struggle?" Raven questioned softly, not wanting to speak too loudly because of Mari's headache.

Knowledge gave a gentle nod. "The energy that forms the ties that bind Mari to you are constantly shifting power from you to her to someone else."

"Someone else? Who?"

Knowledge's violet eyes met with Raven's eyes behind her glasses. "I think that one of them are near."

"Are you sure?" Her heart raced at the possibility.

"No." Knowledge huffed. "I'm less than forty-six percent sure. However, it is a strong possibility given Mari's condition. Maybe you should talk with the old priest to see what he thinks."

Raven focused her gaze on Mari. If it was truly one of them, what did that mean for her and her -"

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of evil laughter in the distance. She, along with all her emoticlones, turned to see the one emoticlone that was not welcome in their group.

Rage.

The emoticlone that favored her father. Heavily.

She sat on a gray, stone cliff watching them from above with four red, glowing eyes. Raven shivered when all her four eyes watched her.

Something wasn't right.

"Why is she looking at us?" Timidity, who wore gray, wondered out loud while hiding behind Bravery, who wore green.

"Should I go over there and make her tell us what's so funny?" Bravery question, cracking her knuckles.

"Nooooo!" Timidity whispered. "Leave her alone. Maybe she will go away."

"She just needs a hug." Happiness in pink said. "I'm going to give her one."

"What she needs is a bucket of holy water thrown on her." Rudeness in orange said as she held onto a struggling Happiness to prevent her from moving.

"Especially since she had been hanging out around daddy dearest's cage lately." Sloth, who wore the color brown, laid on the ground with a look of disinterest on her face.

Yet, the other Raven's faces were full of interest.

Raven asked, "She has been going to see father?"

There was a place in her mind where Trigon remained locked up. She didn't go there and the other emoticlones were forbidden from going there as well. It wasn't like they had a reason too. Although, it seems like Rage did.

"I will go check on the situation," Bravery volunteered.

Raven nodded. "Just be careful." Rage could be dangerous at times, especially when her father was involved.

"You should get going it is almost time for your meeting," Knowledge informed her.

"Okay, found out what you can and alert me as soon as possible. And you…" She looked at the emoticlone in purple. She represented both love and passion. She was kneeling on the ground trying to offer Mari some form of comfort. "Take care of Mari."

The emoticlone spoke, "Of course...and Raven, take care of yourself." The emoticlone gave her a big smile that held a secret.

Raven only stared at her for a second before returning back to her room in the Tower. Her eyes focused on the mirror, yet her mind was focused on the new threat in her life.

She never met them but heard of them. She only thought of them as an unfound rumor until she met Mari. And if they were here...

What was going to happen to her and Mari?

What was she going to do?

What were they going to do?

Did Slade know that they were in Jump City?

She was knocked out of her thoughts unto the floor. When her mind came back to the present, she was on the floor, looking at a silver mechanic hand in front of her.

She glanced around, taking in the Cyborg and the interior of the Titans Tower hallway.

When did I leave my room?

"Are you okay?" Her gazed traveled to Cyborg's worried face.

"Yeah" She took his hand and allowed him to help her up. "Sorry about running into you. I was lost in thought."

"I guess, we kinda ran into each other. I was in my head as well. I'm sorry," Cyborg apologized.

"It's okay. We both need to be careful."

"While we are apologizing, I need to say sorry for what happened in the tunnel."

She raised both eyebrows in confusion; however, he couldn't see it due to her cowl.

"If I wasn't distracted, Slade would have never taken you. If something would have happened to you, I would have never forgiven myself."

She blinked. She never knew that Cyborg blamed himself for what happened inside of the tunnel. Then, again with everything that was going on, they never really had a chance to talk about it.

Nevertheless, she never once blamed him. Slade and she were destined to meet again. By will or by design.

"It wasn't your fault." She informed him. "I knew my condition before I left the tower, and I didn't say anything."

"But still, I-"

She placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him. "I am fine. I'm here. It's okay." Cyborg hugged her, and Raven allowed it. She could use a hug right now.

They stood like that for a while until they heard Changeling's and Retra's voice pass by the hallway that they were standing in.

When they pulled apart, they both asked, "Do you want to talk about it?"

They both laughed. They knew that their long hug wasn't related to the tunnel but with something that they were dealing with internally.

"No." Cyborg answered first. "A lot happened yesterday. I am still trying to sort through it all." Raven nodded as they moved along at a slower pace.

"I just grateful that that boyfriend of yours was able to put the information into the police department's system for me and make it look like an error on their apart."

Since Nightwing knew what Willow was plotting against Cyborg, he was able to come up with a plan to prevent the incident from getting out of hand. However, no one had yet to inform Cyborg that Willow was the issue. They were going to bring it up in tonight's meeting.

"And you?" Cyborg asked.

"I don't want to talk about it either."

They were quiet for a moment before Cyborg spoke again. "Does it have something to do with Starfire?" Raven glanced at him and said no. "Do you mind if we talk about it then?"

She sighed. "There is nothing to talk about. She's back." She felt him staring at her. She knew what he was thinking.

"Starfire's presence here doesn't change anything between Nightwing and me. I trust him, Cyborg." Besides, Nightwing had already ensured her that it didn't matter that she was back and she believed him.

"Okay, but if you ever need to talk my door is always open." Cyborg said warmly.

"I know."

They entered the common area and all eyes turned to them, to Raven.

Cyborg must have read the room like she did because he added, "Or if you need someone to punch him in the face. "

"So, what did she say to you when you too were talking?" Retra sat on the bed in Changeling's room while he sat on the chair leaning forward. They were back sleeping in the same room since they made up.

Now that their relationship was back on track, he could give his undivided attention to the team and Retra. The first order of business related to the team was finding out how Willow was controlling him.

"I don't actually remember. I only knew that her words were making me angry? He remembered how his blood begun to boil with anger as she spoke.

"Argh! I wished I could remember exactly what happened," he said, "I can't believe that I trusted her."

"Well, that what you get for hanging with strange women behind my back." Retra pouted. She avoided his eyes by looking at the poster on the wall.

"Seriously, I was framed for murder, had my body manipulated to do who knows what, and you are focus on the fact that I was hanging out with my best friend's girlfriend without telling you. Women." He mumbled the last word so that she couldn't hear.

"What did you say?" Her narrowed eyes fixated on him.

"Hmm." He fixed his face so that it was blank. " I was framed for murder, had my body manipulated to do who knows what, and you are focus on the fact that I was hanging out with my friend's girlfriend without telling you. "

"No, the last part."

"Oh, wonder?" He gave her a cheeky smile.

"Cute," she said dryly.

"Thanks, but let's focus on how and when Willow started to hypnotize me."

"Fine, but afterward we need to have a discussion about you and the women that hang around you."

"What women?" He was genuinely confused. The only women that he hung around were Retra, Willow, and Starfire -now, that she was back. All other women that he knew were work-related friends.

Yet, somehow his response made her happy. She got up and gave him a peck on his lips.

"You are right. There are no other women. So, only focus on me."

"You are cute when you are jealous." He gave her a peck on her lips back.

"Thanks, but let's focus on how and when Willow started to hypnotize you." She repeated his words.

Changeling grabbed a sheet of paper from his desk while Retra reached for a pen to hand it to him. They went over all the time and date that Changeling could remember when he talked or hung out with Willow and when he blacked out.

When they were done, they had a sheet -front and back - of events.

"Wow, you two hung out a lot." Retra said dryly, looking at the paper.

"Aww you are so adorable when you are jealous." Retra glared at him. "Most of the time, we were at yoga." Changeling explained.

He stared at the list. Sadness gathered in his heart. He thought that they were friends. All the while, she was only using him. Anger slowly pushed the sadness out as he continued to think about it.

"Hey." Retra touched his cheek and moved his face so that they were looking at each other. "Don't continue to let her have power over you."

"You're right." He slowly let the tension release from his shoulder. He gave her power over him through his anger. He shouldn't continue to get angry over her.

"I'm happy that you are in my life."

"This would be awkward if you didn't think so." They smiled at each other. Their face moved closer and their lips would have touched if they were not halted by their alarm.

"It's time for the meeting." Retra whispered.

"We can skip it." Changeling wiggled his left eyebrow. "No one would notice."

Retra giggled and pushed away from him. "Come on. Let's go." She quickly headed for the door, not giving him a chance to stop her.

Changeling smiled. He was glad that they were in a good place.

Starfire missed watching Nightwing work. She used to observe him all the time in silence while enjoying the presence of him. It was something about the way he moved that drew attention to him. Even if he was just moving his fingers. Or, maybe it was the fact that she was attracted to him that everything that he did was gorgeous.

"Don't think too hard." Nightwing's gentle, yet deep voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

"How do you know that I am thinking about something?"

His back was turned to her as he sat at the island in the kitchen area. She sat on the couch intrigued by him working on his laptop.

"You think loud, Star." He said with a chuckle. "I can practically hear what you are thinking."

"Really? Then, what was I thinking about?"

She heard the clicks on the keyboard stopped for a moment before restarting again at a faster speed.

"You were thinking about how much you miss being back on Earth," he lied, which triggered a frown on her beautiful face. "I heard that you and Retra went to the spa already. How was it?"

Her hands tightened into a ball. She knew that he was trying to change the subject.

She flew off the couch and sat on the island next to his laptop. Nightwing looked at her curiously as she closed his laptop.

"Do you know what I can tell about you?"

"What?"

"When you lie. You knew that I was thinking about you. And..." She bowed her head for a second before looking in his eyes with determination. "…sorry."

She closed her eyes and pushed her lips against his. Although she knew that he had a girlfriend, what she was doing felt right. The texture of his lips was soft and familiar. The pressure was light and right.

This simple kiss made her want more, to be closer to him. Thus, she closed the gap in between their bodies, yet she felt nothing. Only cold air.

She opened her eyes to see Nightwing leaning away from her in the chair. His masked eyes were bugled open.

"Starfire, I have a girlfriend."

She straightened up - which prompted him to sit up - and stared at him until she couldn't bear his glance anymore. She looked down at her lap. Her hands clenched the edge of the countertop. Tears gathered in her eyes. She allowed her hair to cover her face.

She didn't like this. She never had to restraint herself around Nightwing, not since the time before they became boyfriend and girlfriend as teenagers.

"I apology again."

"You knew?" His voice was gentle but held shock.

She nodded slightly.

"Starfire,-"

"This time apart from you was different than the first time that I had to return to my planet." She interpreted. "I wasn't in a loveless marriage. I was in one that was full of love. Not only did I loved and respected my husband, but I also cherished him with all my heart." Her head left, showing the glistening eyes that held back tears. "Yet, no matter how much I loved him, no matter how much I enjoyed his touch, you were always there in the background of my heart.

"And if he was here-" She choked back her tears. "And if he was here and there was a choice between you and him, I would choose you. I love you, Nightwing. I never once stop since the day I realize what I felt for you.

"So, if I am somewhere in the background of your heart, if there is a microliter of love for me, tell me and I will wait for you." She twisted the ring on her finger. Her heart tightened. "Even if I have to share your love, please don't stop loving me." Tears fell from her eyes.

"Starfire." His face and voice softened with concern or pity. She didn't know which one nor did she care.

One of his hands reached out to touch the tears on her face. It was only for a second before he snatched his hand away from her. A frown graced his face.

"I loved you, Starfire. I still do. However, my heart only has room for Raven."

Coldwater was poured on her while an unknown forced punched her in the stomach. "Raven? Our friend Raven? She's your girlfriend?"

"I thought that you knew."

Her mouth formed to speak, yet instead of words, a small alarm was heard. It was time for the meeting.

"Let's pick up this conversation later," Nightwing said.

She didn't see when Nightwing walked away or hear when the door to the room opened. She came back to her senses when she heard Retra's word.

¨Are you okay?" Her friend questioned.

"Nightwing and Raven are dating?" She whispered weakly. Retra nodded, opening up memories of their conversation at the spa. Nightwing and Raven were dating. Raven was living together with Nightwing and knew his secret identity. These were things that she never knew or did during their years of dating. Yet, Raven was able to.

"Starfire." Her eyes focused on her friend again. "Do you want to go somewhere and talk?"

The door to the room opened once more, revealing Cyborg and Raven. She watched them, no she watched Raven until their eyes contacted.

She turned her head and replied. "Later. We have a meeting."

Cyborg sat in his room as he thought about the meeting.

"I'm telling you that Slade is targeting out past," Cyborg said. "Willow has nothing to do with my past. So, she is not trying to harm me. She has no reason too."

"I'm not saying that your theory is wrong. Maybe Slade is targeting our past, but that doesn't explain why Willow wants to hurt you."

"Because she doesn't," Cyborg yelled in frustration. Why couldn't they understand that Willow would never hurt him?

"Listen," he continued. "Slade is attacking us using our past. That was how he was able to control Changeling using his secret about what happened in Africa, how he was able to attack Nightwing at his house using his secret identity, and how he was able to distract me in the tunnel. Slade is playing mind games with us to get what he wants. We just have to stop playing his games. "

"What about Raven and Starfire?" Changeling asked. "What does he have over them?"

"I was in outer space," Starfire said. "I doubt that he would know anything about me. Besides, Mary was my only secret," she whispered. They all nodded, satisfied with her answer before turning their eyes to Raven.

"I was living in Zinthos, studying scrolls. Slade wouldn't have nothing on me either." They all nodded except for NIghtwing.

"What does Slade have over you?" She asked Cyborg.

He spent fifteen minutes explaining what happened in his past. "After what happened yesterday, I plan to correct it this weekend." He huffed. "Slade is the problem here, guys, not Willow. So, please stop saying that she is a bad person, because I know that she is not."

They all said okay, but he knew that in their heart, they didn't believe him.

The phone attached to his body rang. Seeing the name and number that came through his system, Cyborg answered immediately. "Willow, where are you? I've been trying to contact you since last night. I've been worried about you."

"I think, you know where I am." Her voice was different. It didn't hold the sweet, angelic tone that he loved.

Wrinkles were created on the human side of his face as it bunched up with confusion. "What are you talking about, Willow? Is something going on? You have been weird lately." He added, hating the desperation in his voice. Yet, he was truly concerned about her wellbeing. "Where are you? I will come and get you."

"You know where I am."

"No, I don't. Where are you?"

"Having you been receiving my emails?" The phone went dead. His wired froze over, and memory from his past played in his head.
