Disclaimer: One final time for this story, I do not own twilightA/N: This is the final chapter! Honestly, the writing style changed drastically half way through the story because when I first started writing it, it was just because I was bored and wanted to write something. After I got the reviews and realised some people were actually enjoying the story, I wanted to put an effort into it. I will probably go back and edit the first 2 chapters to make the writing style a little better, but for now, enjoy the final chapter!
"Sam, we do not want a fight. Let us leave in peace and you shall never hear from us again. We never knew that leaving Bella would ultimately result in this, but we are deeply sorry it has. We regret any pain we caused you and Charlie, and any of Bella's friends," Carlisle tried to reason.
"Carlisle, nothing you say can change our minds. We were decided the minutes Bella was killed. Furthermore, we cannot allow you to leave for risk that this should happen to another innocent human," Sam countered.
"I can promise you it will never happen again. The Volturi will persecute us if it did."
Sam shook his head. "Your promises mean nothing."
With that, he transformed into a wolf and leaped at Carlisle. The rest of the pack transformed and attacked. Sam was taking Carlisle, Paul fighting Emmett, and various other pack members targeting Jasper, Alice and Esme. Jacob's eyes sought out Rosalie. He wanted her gone by his hands.
But Paul got there first, bounding away from Emmett and towards Rosalie. With Jacob's help, they ripped her apart, scattering the torn limbs. Emmett's eyes darkened with fury and he ran at Paul. Jacob dived them, attempting to knock the large vampire off path, but it was pointless. Emmett wanted- needed- to avenge his mate. He needed to get rid of Paul.
And against a revenge-driven vampire, Paul stood no chance.
After Emmett sank his teeth into Paul's neck, and the wolf slumped on the ground, he stumbled around trying to gather Rosalie, but a fire had been started and she'd already been thrown in. Emmett fell to his knees beside the roaring fire, grief-stricken.
"Please. Kill me. I can't live without her," he begged.
Sam and Jacob shared a look before the Alpha nodded. Jacob bounded towards Emmett and swiftly tore him to pieces, shucking each limb into the growing fire. He turned away from the bright, hot flames, and towards the battle. The remaining Cullens were on one side, the wolves on the other. The dead vampires had been thrown into the fire, and the dead wolves lay motionless.
Alice and Jasper stood together, both looking weary and distraught, upon realising they were the only two of their coven left. The wolves had lost Paul, Leah, and Embry.
"Sam, please," Jasper said. "Allow my mate and I to leave. We will never venture here again, or associate with humans."
"It wasn't our decision to live amongst humans," Alice added. "That was Carlisle's idea. We both would prefer to live with our kind."
Sam tilted his head, considering this. After a few moments, he phased back.
"Very well. You and your mate may leave. However, if any of the pack see either of you again, no matter what the circumstances may be, we shall kill you."
Jasper nodded. "Of course. Thank you, Sam."
The mated pair turned away and became a blur as they ran away from Forks, away from the wolf pack, and away from the haunting memories.
The rest of the pack turned towards their dead members, sinking to their knees and bowing their heads.
Though Jacob had lost a best friend, and two other members of his pack in the battle, he felt strangely at peace. The Cullens were all gone, aside from Jasper and Alice. Yes, he would have been happier if they were gone too, but Jacob could live with it.
So, with a clear head and heavy heart, he decided to visit Bella's grave.
"I avenged you, Bella," he whispered, placing a bunch of flowers against the tombstone. "I got rid of them. The pack all hope that wherever you are, you're happy. You deserve it. I once heard that suicidal people are just angels who want to go home. Bella, you were an angel, and I've come to accept that you were needed elsewhere more than I need you." Standing up, he sighed. "I love you, Bella. Always. Never forget that."
The moment Victoria had grabbed Bella was a turning point. It caused everything that had occurred recently to happen. Bella's story could have ended up completely different. If only Jacob had managed to get to her a few seconds earlier, then maybe she'd still be alive. If only his pack had succeeded in killing Victoria during their chase through the forest. If only the Cullen's never moved to Forks. Jacob wished these events never happened. But he couldn't change the past. What happened, happened. He had to accept that.
Jacob turned and walked away. He would not dwell on the events that transpired the past year, and especially the past week. It was the past, and he would move on, as much as it hurt him to do so.
The turning point changed everything.
This chapter was short but I didn't think anything else was needed. I'm not sure when I'll start writing another story, and who knows what twist I'll put on Twilight next?I hope you enjoyed this story!
