Chapter 46
.
Note: This version of Lucifer is from the Netflix show of the same name.
.
President Odonnell had no doubt that Carpathia's war with Hod had been hell, so to speak. Carpathia had been brutal, but so had his enemy. With less than one hour before his conversation with Carpathia Ryan Odonnell decided to speak with a different alien refugee, someone who might be more favorable towards Carpathia's point of view, Lucifer. This Lucifer was indeed a fallen angel, after ruling Hell for thousands of years he took a vacation, moved to Los Angelas, opened a night club and helped the LAPD solve crimes. President Odonnell was just a bit nervous speaking with the devil that he had always been taught was the greatest evil of all time.
.
Odonnell: Thank you for agreeing to meet with me, Lucifer.
Lucifer: Happy to help, you seem nervous.
Odonnell: Sorry, it's just I've heard certain things about you.
Lucifer: Most of it is just tall tales. I really hate being called the prince of lies. Benjamin Linus deserves that title far more than me. I am honest, I usually tell people exactly what the consequences will be, and a lot of them damn themselves anyway. Also, that story about me and the goat, complete fiction. I still owe my brother Amandel for that one.
Odonnell: Is there anything you can tell me about this version of Hell?
Lucifer: I can only tell you about my version. I have, had, no say in who went there. People decided that for themselves. They felt they deserved to be punished, they even chose the form of punishment. The doors to Hell weren't even locked, the damned could have left anytime, but they didn't. That is, until my good friend Linda arrived. She was my therapist, and briefly my lover. I guess Linda felt that listening to other people's problems was the worst thing she could do to herself. She helped people deal with the issues that landed them there, they learned to forgive themselves. Not everyone ofcourse, Hitler, Stalin, Trump, they were still being tortured when, all of this happenned. I've heard ofcourse of other versions, of God sending people to Hell just for choosing the wrong religion. I had my issues with dad, but even he wasn't that bad.
Odonnell: Wasn't? Past tense?
Lucifer: Yeah, he claimed to be the most powerful being in the universe, now he's dead, probably suffering with the others in that Hell. But I can't say for certain what that version is like. As to what Carpathia is like, I don't know.
Odonnell: Thanks for your help.
