"We are so going to be late," Meredith huffed as she was trying to get Elliana's car seat to click into the stroller base.

"Here," he took it from her and locked it into place.

"Have you heard from Amelia and Owen?" Derek asked as he was stuffing the kids carry-on bags into the base of the stroller.

"She said they were at check in waiting on us with CJ's ticket," Meredith grabbed her bag from the car, handing the girls their suitcases to roll along.

"Mama I am hungry," Scarlett groaned.

"You just ate!" Meredith said as she was trying to get everything together.

"But I'm hungry," she pouted.

"If we have time we will stop and grab you something in the airport," Meredith replied.

"We got everything?" Derek asked as he closed the trunk after getting the last of the baggage.

"I think," Meredith double-checked the car for anything before they all walked at a fast pace into the airport. Meredith pushed the stroller that had the twins secured into their seats as she tried to keep up with them. Amelia, Owen, and CJ were all waiting at the bag check-in, CJ had stayed the previous night at their house.

"Let's hope we have enough time to make it to our gate on time," Amelia laughed as she had already check in hers and Owens things.

"We have two babies plus the girls, you guys had CJ which is the easiest out of all our children," Meredith replied as she was placing her bag along side Derek's to be sent to baggage. They put the stroller into a bag and they each grabbed a baby, Meredith taking Elliana and Derek took Elliot. They thought it would be easier just them holding the twins than lugging around the two car seats.

"Hey! I'm easy!" Zoe huffed.

"Yeah, me too!" Scarlett added.

"Yes, and so is the attitude now let go," Meredith said as she began walking toward the gate.

"Dad, will you stop and get me some food?" Scarlett asked Derek as they were walking.

"You girls just ate!" Derek said.

"That's what I said," Meredith agreed.

"But I'm hungry!" She stomped.

"Ok," he sighed, they stopped at one of the shops for her to get a bag of chips and a water.

"I want something!" Zoe said as she grabbed herself a bag as well.

"Ok fine," Derek said, not wanting to be late for the flight. He managed to get his wallet out of his pocket juggling Elliot in his hands. He happily smiled and looked around him. The girls grabbed their stuff and happily hurried with them to the gate just as passengers began boarding.

"Where's Lexie?" Amelia asked as they stood in line waiting to get on the plane.

"Their flight doesn't leave until 4, they took a later flight to fit with the baby's schedule."

"Oh," she said as she handed the flight attendant her ticket. They each got on one at a time, Derek being the last of the group to board. He handed Elliot to Amelia as they got to their seats while he and Owen put the baggage into the overhead bins. The girls sat next to each other with their iPad's. CJ sat in the isle seat, already buckling himself in. Derek took Elliot back from Amelia who sat in one of the two seat rows.

"Here let me take a picture to send to your mom before we take off," Meredith smiled, she took a picture of Derek holding him up to him, both had a smile on their face.

"So cute," Meredith smiled as she sent the picture to Carolyn. They settled in their seats, Owen and Derek sat next to one another while Meredith and Amelia sat together.

"Here, they say if babies suck on something their ears won't pop," she reached back to hand Derek a pacifier for Elliot. Meredith pulled the breast feeding cover from her backpack she had put under her seat. She latched Elliana on and placed the cover over her shoulder.

The plane was finally in the air and Elliana had already fallen asleep while she heard Elliot babbling away with Owen who had now taken him from Derek. Owen was amazing with her children, he was so gentle and she knew he was going to be an amazing father. The whole flight went smoothly as the plane began to descend. Neither twin cried much and the girls had fallen asleep on one another.

"I got it," Derek handed Elliot to Owen before he got up and buckled the girls into their seats and sat back down. As the plane started to descend, the girls each woke up and looked out the window.

"Are you excited to meet your nana?" Meredith asked Elliana and she smiled and cooed at her. She was such a happy baby, both twins were really calm and went with the flow. Elliot was the more demanding, Elliana always just kind of chilled.

They all unbuckled when they said it was ok to, Meredith wrapped Ellie into a blanket as it was much colder with snow all on the ground. They got their things together and went to grab their bags. Derek put the stroller together as Amelia now had Elliot and buckled him into his car seat. Meredith did the same with Elliana as they clicked the car seats into the stroller. The girls were getting antsy as they were excited to go see Carolyn.

They went to the car rental place in the airport, renting their cars and putting their stuff into the car was a lot of work. They had to rent a car seat for CJ as well since they didn't bring one with them and they finally got settled into the car.

"Can we go to nana's first?" Zoe asked.

"Please!" Scarlett said along.

"Is that ok?" Derek asked Meredith. He knew she wanted to go to his house here and drop off their things.

"Up to you," she replied. She didn't really care at this point, she was exhausted and knew Derek was more excited than the girls were for his mom to meet the babies. He nodded and got on the interstate to his moms house. When they arrived, there weren't any cars there which Meredith was grateful for. She didn't have the energy to keep up with any of the sister's. Owen and Amelia were staying with Carolyn as it was easier for them.

The girls jumped out as soon as the car was put in park, Meredith chuckled and shook her head slightly, she was thankful Scarlett had accepted Carolyn so easily and Carolyn took her children in like they were hers. Meredith got out and unbuckled CJ, helping him get out before she I clicked Elliana's seat while Derek got Elliot's. They walked to the front door where the girls were waiting.

"I'm coming!" A familiar voice said from inside as Lizzie came to the door and opened it. She lived next door so she was the main caregiver for her mother since her surgery.

"I didn't expect to see you guys so soon!" She smiled.

"We wanted to stop by before we went to my house," he replied and walked in after his sister.

"Derek? Is that you?" Carolyn called from the living room. They walked in to see Carolyn sitting in her recliner, they had transformed her living room into a bedroom since she was now unable to climb stairs.

"Hey Ma," he sat the car seat on the sofa and went over to kiss his mother's cheek.

"Oh are those my new babies," she said happily. She definitely had aged so much since Meredith had last seen her, she noticed the walker that was nearby, they knew her condition was deteriorating but Meredith assumed the physical therapy would have helped more.

"It is," Meredith smiled as she sat Elliana's car seat next to Elliot's as she got her out and Derek got out Elliot.

"Which one do you want to hold first?" Derek asked happily.

"Oh I can't chose, they are both so beautiful," she commented.

"Here, Elliana is small than her brother. He loves to eat," Meredith chuckled as she put her into Carolyn's lap.

"Hi there Ellie, I'm your nana," Carolyn glowed with happiness as she smiled at the baby. Elliana smiled back and cooed at her.

"Oh really?" Carolyn replied to her coos.

"I want to get my hands on this chunk monster," Lizzie smiled as she took Elliot from Derek.

"How has it been with two?" Carolyn asked as she bounced the little girl in her arms.

"It's been great. They are amazing," Derek replied.

"She looks so much like Amelia," Carolyn commented as she looked at her.

"She does. I have come to realize I didn't give birth to either of them," Meredith giggled.

"Elliot has your nose," Lizzie said.

"Everything else is Derek's" Carolyn commented.

"Yep. Those Shepherd gene's are something else," Meredith giggled. There was another knock and Amelia appeared with Owen.

"Oh, it's so nice to see you Owen," Carolyn smiled at him.

"It's nice to see you too Mrs. Shepherd," he replied.

"Carolyn, please," she replied.

"Ok," he smiled and nodded.

"Hey ma, how you feeling?" Amelia asked as she greeted her mother with a kiss on the cheek.

"I'd be better if I could move around more but I know I'll get there," Carolyn said confidently.

"We know Ma," Derek smiled.

"So, since we got all of you in a room without the chaos, Me and Owen wanted to tell you guys we are pregnant," Amelia said happily.

"Really?" Derek said a little shocked.

"Yes, we found out last week and we wanted to tell everyone together," she smiled.

"I'm so happy for you Amelia, I can't wait to spoil the littlest Shepherd," Carolyn smiled happily.

"Congratulations Amelia," Meredith went over to hug her.

"It's about time Amelia," Lizzie laughed.

"Hey I didn't want to have babies in my residency like the rest of you," Amelia chuckled, "Thanks you guys for being so supportive."

"We are family Amelia, we are always going to support you," Carolyn assured her.

"I love you ma," Amelia smiled. Meredith looked around at the family she never knew she wanted. It was crazy how life had just made itself into what it was today for her.
