Nico POV:

Returning to the school, the corridors were all in a mess. The teachers had managed to fend off several of the werewolves with other spells and charms, though the school sustained a lot of injuries. We found most of them situated near the hospital wing, while apparently, a few were protecting the entrances of the student's common rooms just in case. Upon seeing Dumbledore return, several of the teachers wore a relieved expression which soon turned confused at the notice of us by his side. "Thank Merlin," Professor Sprout said as several centaurs shot arrows at the werewolves, each of them hitting their targets. "you're here,"

Professor McGonagall's brows were furrowed as she asked. "What are you three doing here? Shouldn't you be back in your respective common rooms,"

"We're here to help," Percy said.

"That's very brave of you-"

"Or foolish," Snape added.

"But, you should be back in your common rooms. Although I heard about your war with...Dirt Face, unless you normally deal with anti-magical werewolves, you should go back. Even the most experienced of students are back in their common rooms protecting each other,"

"I trust them, they will not hold us back. Anyway, we have received the help of the centaurs, however, this will be the only time they will help us. Where has the man leading the pack, and the rest of the wolves gone?" Dumbledore said, seemingly completely ignoring the now-dead bodies of wolves because of being pierced with several wood arrows. "We mainly focused on protecting the students," Professor McGonagall explained. "The wolves might be rampaging over Hogwarts as for the leader of them, I heard he's trying to get into one of the common rooms. He left here mainly because of the immense defence that I believe he was uncertain to break. However, he might come back here. Although our mainly offensive spells still don't function, we have some defensive charms as well as other helpful means. Horace had brought a couple of useful potions, while Hagrid let some of the creatures from his class lessons free to contend with the werewolves, though not too many and not the less tame ones."

"We should deal with him first," Annabeth suggested. "The others will be easier to manage if he's defeated," The majority of teachers remained and guarded the hospital wing along with the centaur I learned was called Firenze, while the rest along with Dumbledore, the other centaurs, and us left to try and locate Lycaon, killing any wolves in passing. In the end, we found him as he made his way to the hospital wing along with several wolves. My eyes widened, the number of wolves we had killed was not small and yet the number alongside him was even greater. In the time we were gone, had more wolves came from places other than the forbidden forest?

Upon seeing us with centaurs, Lycaon's pupils slightly dilated in surprise before he growled, the snarl reverberating. He immediately lept towards us, his sharp teeth showing and saliva even flying out. In response, a centaur knocked an arrow into his bow aiming for the opened chest and shot. Lycaon seemed to be expecting this attack and immediately grabbed the arrow with his two palms, breaking it into pieces. Using the momentum from before, he managed to dig his claws into the centaur running about as the other tried to fire at him. Lycaon was unlike regular werewolves, he had extraordinary speed, reflexes and abilities, along with the hundreds of years he's lived being immortal there also comes experience. We didn't dare attack recklessly in fear of harming the centaur and doing no damage to Lycaon.

Lycaon wasn't able to do much either. It seemed that he knew he wouldn't be in such a favourable position far away considering our numbers and the centaurs whose skill in archery was shown. Although a werewolf, he was still in human form since there was no full moon tonight. Other than his abnormally sharp teeth for a human, he had no other weapons that were a part of his body and could only crawl around the centaur's body like a spider as the centaur tried to knock him off his hind. Even if he had a weapon if he took the time to try and use it, he'd undoubtedly be hit with an arrow to the heart and several more following it.

Behind him, the wolves had all charged towards us, the wizards and witches fending them off from disturbing the two centaurs. The centaur whom Lycaon was climbing around seemed to have reached a decision very quickly. "Fire! It's disgrace to be used as a tree for an undignified wretch!"

Upon hearing his words, the other centaur immediately released the arrow stabbing through Lycaon but also managing to scrape on the hide of his companion. Seeing, things were not going as planned Lycaon immediately leapt off trying to bite the nearest wizard and witch with his teeth. However, halfway through an agonizing scream came out of his mouth. He fell to the floor, blood coming out from his body. At his back, there was a wooden arrow that was lodged in his heart. Even for someone immortal, that was no doubt painful, but perhaps what was more for him was the silver arrow that went through one side of his abdomen to the other. Seeing this silver arrow, practically everyone's eyes went to the end of a corridor where a small group of maidens stood. Most of them wore the same clothing, and at the front of them, they were led by a girl with spiky dark hair, a quiver at her back, a bow in her hand. Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, former pine tree. Before her sixteenth birthday, I'm told that was the day Thalia made the oath to Artemis, becoming the lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis which were a group of maiden hunters who were dedicated to Artemis. Once a maiden spoke the oath, they would obtain eternal youth while also revoked anything to do with love. Seeing them, mixed feelings arose, mainly composing of distress and something akin to anger.

"Thalia," Lycaon hissed and went to attack her. Thalia quickly dodged and shot a few more arrows all lodging themselves into Lycaon. "Save it Lycaon," Thalia said, "You know when you're beaten,"

"Yes," He snarled. "I was too impulsive. I should have listened to what he said,"

"He?" Percy said. "The associate?" Reminded of this, Lycaon broke out into a feral grin again. "Yes, I may have lost this fight, but in the end, you will all fall to him. Speaking of which, you will pay dearly for all my brethren who have fallen today, including you centaurs. I am an important figure in his mind, he will be convinced. And as an important figure, I will not be captured so easily." He moved a hand underneath the layer of fur pelts he wore, cracking the arrow into two pieces. He suddenly closed his eyes as if an eternal calm would be blessed upon him. Dumbledore quickly fired a spell, but before it could affect him, Lycaon disappeared leaving behind only his blood on the floor.

"Ugh, they seem to always poof when we win," Percy said, breaking the silence that slowly formed after Lycaon disappeared. He turned to the hunters, rushing up to give Thalia a quick hug with Annabeth. "Thanks for the assist,"

"Aw, don't worry about it Kelp head," Thalia remarked giving Percy a nudge at his shoulder. "Hey, Annabeth, Nico. How are you two doing?" I gave her a shrug of my shoulders. Annabeth gave her a smile. "Good to see you, Thalia."

"Excuse me," Snape interrupted, "I hate to interrupt this little reunion, however, I think we need a few answers. Starting with - who is your friend? Outsiders should not easily come into Hogwarts as they please,"

"Don't be so sour," Thalia replied, slightly frowning. "You saw I came to help. Though, I understand you have some doubts about me. My name is Thalia, I am a friend of Annabeth, Percy and Nico."

"You also went to CHB?" Professor McGonagall asked, looking inquisitively at the bows and arrows in their hands. "How did you come so quickly in time for our aid?"

"At our school for magic, there are several cabins instead of houses, and one of them is house number 8," Annabeth answered. "They don't stay at school, but rather travel around,"

"I got close to the hellhound from Professor Hagrid's class," Percy added. "Since I knew some of its abilities, I asked it to try and find the students from Cabin 8. Mrs. O'Leary certainly works really quickly,"

Thalia seemed especially confused at the exchange Annabeth, and Percy had with the teachers, but she still nodded her head, playing along. "Yeah, she does work fast. Lucky for you we were still in England, we were going to head back to the States soon."

"Thank you very much, Miss Thalia," Professor McGonagall said, "I do not think we could defeat Lycaon without your aid,"

"Don't sweat it, I've saved them plenty of times before. Anyway, I have to head back now. This was only a short visit to help, so we'll help you deal with the rest of the wolves then we have to leave. There's this uh, thing we gotta work on."
