PREVIOUSLY-

We both decided that we didn't want to risk going on a honeymoon while Edward was still a threat, so instead we chose to enjoy our week with Embry patrol free. We decided to hang out at the beach as much as possible before it got too cold, and most importantly, we just relaxed.

The next few months went by quickly but restlessly. I was now 36 weeks pregnant. It was November, 20th, and I was only a month from my due date. I was getting increasingly nervous due to the fact that Alice's vision had shown me heavily pregnant, and I was most definitely heavily pregnant now. I felt like a whale!

Everyone was on high alert and it was starting to irritate me beyond belief. I knew it was just my hormones, but I had things I needed to get done before the baby arrived, and I wasn't being allowed to do them.

"Do you want our child to go naked, Em? Because she will if I can't go up to Port Angeles to the baby store to get things for her! We only have a month until she's due, and I don't have half the things she needs!" I yelled, exasperated. I felt bad for yelling at my husband but I was at my wit's end.

"It's not safe for you to go, Bella. We got tons of stuff from the baby shower last month, what else can we need?" I narrowed my eyes at my husband. "Just make a list and one of us will go get everything, please?" Embry nearly begged, but I wasn't budging.

"No. For the last time, I want to pick out my own things. Now, either I let you go with me, or I don't. Which one will it be?" I told him, point blank. He seemed to stop in his tracks.

"Don't kid around like that, Bella. You know there's a very real threat against you and our baby right now. If you're going anywhere, we're coming too." Embry said, motioning to himself, Paul, and Seth, who'd officially been sidelined in our fight.

Seth nearly never left my side anymore, except when he was forced to patrol or be at school, and Paul was nearly the same, other than when he was with Rachel. Embry had been working with Sam's construction company, trying to save up some money for when the baby arrived.

"Fine then, we're going to Port Angeles. Now." I told them, marching out to the car. Embry had finally caved and bought a newer used SUV so that we'd have a vehicle that was child friendly. Seth ran up beside me, noticing my small wince in pain as the others trailed behind.

"You okay, mama wolf?" He asked quickly and I nodded.

"Just Braxton-hicks contractions, you know I've been getting them every now and then, it's nothing to worry about." I told him honestly, even though these hurt a bit more than the one's I'd had previously.

"I don't think we should go to Port Angeles, I think we need to go by the hospital in Forks instead." Paul said as we started driving. "That's the fifth time I've seen you wince in the last hour, and you know those fake contractions don't do that shit."

"I agree. Babe, you're stressing out and we're all stressing out and it can't be good for the baby. Please, just let us take you to get checked really quick? We can worry about the stuff we don't have later." Embry asked, looking over at me, eyes pleading with me.

"Fine, but I'm sure it's nothing." I finally agreed. I knew stressing was not good, but I couldn't help it, so many things needed to be done. I was 'nesting' as they referred to it in the baby books, and my nerves were getting to me.

The boys were still extremely uneasy that the hospital was in Forks. We'd all been worried when Sue told us she didn't have the equipment needed for labor and delivery. She could assist with an at-home birth if I were past 38 weeks, but any pre-term monitoring needed to be done at the hospital, and the only hospital around was in Forks.

I crossed my arms, resting them on my belly as we made our way to Forks. After crossing the treaty line, I subconsciously wrapped my arms around my belly as if to protect our little girl.

As we arrived at the hospital, I began digging in my purse, looking for my phone, only to realize I didn't have it. "Hey, can one of you guys let everyone else know where we are? I don't have my phone on me."

Paul nodded, heading off towards the woods next to the hospital as Embry and Seth helped me out of the car. I winced as I felt another contraction, but paid no mind to it as we walked inside.

"Gosh this place still smells like leech, even if they left so long ago." Seth said, wiping at his nose as if it burned.

"Probably will for a few years, you know this was the oldest one's domain." Embry told him as he began to check me in with the maternity ward.

About ten minutes later, I was taken back to an exam room, but I was worried that Paul hadn't come back yet.

"Hey Seth, can you go check on Paul?" I asked him as Embry guided me back to the exam room.

"Sure thing, mama. I'll be right back." He replied, heading for the doorway. The nurse looked at me funny when he called me that, but I really wasn't in the mood for explaining.

A few minutes later, as I was in a hospital gown, waiting on the nurse to hook me up. I saw Seth standing at the doorway, motioning for Embry to go talk to him quickly.

No sooner than Embry and Seth were out of the door, I felt something being injected into my neck and icy hands wrapped around my arms, my vision fading to black as I tried to call out for my husband.
