Ok, I don't wanna sound like I'm not appreciative of you guys and your reviews, but when it comes to just your overall opinion, please keep that to yourself. I don't mind constructive criticism, but things like "I hate this" or "I hate that" get annoying. So please, if you don't have something nice or helpful to say, don't say anything.
Darkness Surrounding
Sabine was cooking breakfast for the girls. Well Anna and Celeste anyway. Mira had a nightmare and was still in her room. As she continued to cook, she figured she better ask Mira what happened. Sabine took the two plates to the table.
"Alright you two, here ya go." Sabine smiled. "I'm gonna go check on Mira."
"Okay Mommy." The girls said in unison.
She walked into the bedroom to see Mira curled up. Her body was trembling, and she was sweating.
"No, Daddy. No. Don't hurt Mommy." Mira said in her sleep.
"Mira? Mira honey, wake up."
"Daddy NOO!"
"Mira!"
The little girl shot straight up with eyes wide open and tears streaming down her face. Sabine was quick to envelop the child in a hug to calm her down.
"Mommy?"
"Yes baby?"
"I had another bad dream."
"Sounds like it. What was it about?"
"Daddy."
That shocked Sabine. Mira had never had a bad dream about her father. She wondered what sparked this.
"What did Daddy do?"
"Well you know how his lightsaber is green, a-and yours is pink? His was red, and he hurt you."
Sabine was speechless. Her daughter dreamed of Ezra as a Sith. Around the same time as he was suspected of turning, this was no coincidence.
"It's okay baby. Daddy would never hurt me, or you."
"I know Mommy." Mira got up and ran off into the living room.
Sabine was left to wonder, was Mira seeing what was reality? Or was she just dreaming? Deciding to leave those problems for another time, she walked out and fixed Mira's plate too.
With Ezra
Ezra was becoming torn. His light side was fighting back, trying to overcome the evil within. His dark side was continuing to suppress the light but was beginning to lose its grip. As the internal dilemma went on, the ship dropped out of hyperspace. Before him was Lothal. Ezra looked out to the grassy plains and sent in his VIP codes. This allowed him to go wherever he wanted and land wherever he chose. Piloting the Gauntlet closer to the tower, he sensed the presence of his family. His wife, Sabine. His daughters, Mira and Anna. Even little Celeste. He could feel their sadness, the pain of him leaving them. He knew his new master wanted them dead, but this wasn't right. The entire reason he left was to save them, now he was to kill them.
"Maybe I could get Mira and Anna to join me." Ezra thought to himself. "Yes, then I can send Sabine and Celeste into hiding."
The more he thought about it, the better a plan it seemed. However, a thought plagued the back of his mind. What would Ori'dush do if he brought back his children? Leaving it to another time, he brought the ship down outside the tower.
In the tower
Sabine was ecstatic, to say the least. She had seen the Gauntlet return and land directly outside the tower's base. Rushing to get into the lift, she forgot to unclip her lightsaber from her belt. The ride down seemed terribly long, and Sabine was bouncing in the lift. When the door opened, she ran out to find the ramp lowering from the back of the Gauntlet.
"Ezra!" Sabine cried as she ran to him. What she saw next terrified her. Ezra walked out of the black and red ship, wearing a black and red suit. A different type of lightsaber attached to his belt. "Ezra?"
"Hello Sabine." Ezra looked down at the ground, not able to look at her. He eventually tried to look in her eyes.
Her heart shattered with what she saw. Ezra's eyes were not blue, they were a pale yellow with a red tint. "It is true. Luke was right, you've changed." She moved her hands to her lightsaber hilt, glad she brought it.
"Sabine please, let me explain."
"There is nothing to explain! You went to the Sith lord, didn't you? You did! What now, are you gonna kill me? Kill your babies? Ezra Wren-Bridger, I will not let you near them!"
Ezra was shocked. He thought she would at least listen to what he had to say. Now, he was angry. "I wanted to take Mira and Anna and train them myself. I was going to send you and Celeste off into hiding. But now you give me no choice." Ezra brough up his now red lightsaber and lit it.
"You always have a choice, my love. Come back to me, to your children. We can be happy again."
"Don't you see. He will kill us all if I don't do it. If I bring Mira and Anna to him, maybe I can save them."
"No. They are not going to go with you. If you want them, you will have to kill me."
Ezra paused before moving to her again. "As you wish."
Sabine lit her pink blade and blocked an attack. She knew that Ezra had taught her well with a blade, but something was off. He was fighting with no set technique. It was all random. Reckless and random. He would feint an attack up and keep with it when she moved to block. It was as if something was keeping him from fighting right. Their blades locked again, red and pink.
After many intense moments, Sabine grabbed the upper hand and cut Ezra's saber at the hilt. Slashing up, she also cut his helmet. Missing his face completely but destroying the mask. He fell to his knees defeated.
"Kill me." He muttered
"No, I won't."
"Do it! Kill me!"
"NO! I love you Ezra, that won't change. You love me too. I could feel it in your strikes. You were holding back, hoping I would kill you." She dropped her blade to the ground and kneeled in front of him. "Come back to me Ezra. Come back to me." She wrapped her arms around him and a weight equal to an Imperial SSD was lifted off of his shoulders. Slowly he allowed her to hold him as he broke down.
"I'm sorry Sabine. I'm sorry I left you, and our children. I never wanted to hurt you. I just wanted the power to save you." He sobbed as he leaned into her.
"I know, my love. But you know I can fight. You know I can hold my own. And I know you trust me."
"Can you ever forgive me for this?"
"Oh Ezra." She fell crying into him. "I love you, and of course I forgive you. Now come on. There are some little girls who miss their Daddy." They got up and walked to the lift. Ezra stopped and looked up at the balcony.
"I think that me showing up in this outfit is a bad idea." He gestured to himself.
"Okay, I will run up and grab you some clothes." Sabine walked off to the lift leaving him alone.
Ezra walked back to his ship and answered the call on his console. Ori'dush appeared on the terminal in holographic form.
"Have you done as I asked, apprentice?" The older man asked.
"No, I can't and will not let you or anyone else hurt them."
"So, I guess your vision will come true then. I will come for them, not now, but soon." The call faded and Ezra stood back up. He heard Sabine coming up the ramp and turned to meet her.
"Thank you." He still had a frown on his face.
"Okay, what are you not telling me?"
"He will come for us. He promised it." Ezra took the grey shirt and dark blue pants and walked into his quarters to change. This was going to be a fight for everyone's safety.
It's good to see Ezra home now. When I say it took me 3 days to write this, I'm not kidding. I had no plan with how to bring Ezra back other than a duel. I hoped you liked it. For my American readers, have a happy Thanksgiving. For the rest of y'all have a great day. Peace!
