A/N: A little post-ep for "Watch Over Me".

"Hey, baby, I brought you some food!" Kensi called as she came in through the garage. The lower level was dark so she flipped on a few lights, dropping her keys and bag on the island in the kitchen. "You never texted me back so I got you the…" she trailed off as she realized the house was empty.

Monty lifted his head briefly from his bed and wined quietly. Crouching down, Kensi rubbed his back and asked,

"Where's Deeks, huh buddy?" Obviously, Monty didn't answer, but he whined again and rested his head on his paws that expressed Kensi's feelings exactly.

It was after ten and she hadn't heard from Deeks all day. That in and of itself was all that unusual, but he typically tried to let her know if he'd be gone late. And, she'd noticed a definite increase in his time spent at LAPD the last few months.

In her experience, nothing good ever came from that. Sighing, Kensi hoped he was just finishing up paperwork and not doing Whiting, or some other opportunistic zealot's, bidding.

"He'll be home," she whispered to Monty, hoping that it was true.
