The purple dragon and Sheila split as they continued to search for the eggs on the green plain of the realm. Spyro found nothing and wondered if every egg were found, "Maybe my siblings are elsewhere now," he sighed a little sadly.
"The realm is really big and the eggs went everywhere," Zoe agreed.
Sparx suggested they search for Hunter.
"Right. I can't let my friend here. We will find him and go elsewhere," he gazed at the side, "I just hope I don't have to fight that Flame again. He's a dragon too."
They began to search for Hunter instead of the eggs.
Chapter 33: Chasing The Thief
The day was coming to the end and dusk began to settle in. Spyro didn't yell for Hunter around, because they were a few Rhynocs in the way. He didn't want to get crush by an army of them.
Many of them were on the ground, knocked out, "There is only some weak Rhynocs."
"Not sure if they are better or worse than the Gnorcs," the dragon wondered. They were as easy to handle than the others.
They continued together.
"Spyro," someone whispered to him.
The dragon stopped and looked around. He sniffed the air and knew who it was, "Hunter?"
"I'm here," he waved at the dragon at the top of a hill.
Him and his two small companions joined Hunter at his hiding location, "Hunter. I've been looking for you. A lot happened with me."
"Thankfully, I can't say the same," the cheetah sighed in relief, "What happened?"
"I was attacked by another dragon, bigger than me, but he's still a kid," the purple dragon began.
"A dragon of his age. He was at a more normal size," Zoe explained.
"Okay," he nodded while he noticed that his purple friend was huffing and grumbling about size, "W-wait! Another dragon your age? I thought you were the only one."
"He has been saved when he was stolen, when I was in my egg. He thought I was a fake dragon and we fought. I… I hurt him and we hid him. He's gone and maybe I'll fight him again," Spyro admitted.
"Damn. That's really bad. He's your brother," Hunter commented, from what he understood from the dragons.
"Then, I found Sheila. She's a Miss who raised that dragon named Flame. She was capture and ready to get execute. I saved her," he went on with the details of what happened.
"We have friends helping us. Good news," the cheetah gave a thumbs up, "I did find a few things."
"Really?" Spyro asked.
Sparx urge to speak up.
"Yeah. I found the thief in her hood. She went that way and grumbling about finding an egg. That one… I tried to grab it, but I can't fly or glide. It was out of my reach," Hunter sighed in defeat, "They were much more Rhynocs around for me to handle them. I think twenty. They really want that egg and since they couldn't reach it, I searched for your help."
"Let's go. We can't let them take my siblings," the purple dragon replied.
"Follow me!" Hunter wasted no second.
"I hope they didn't get it. How long did you search for us?" Zoe asked.
"Just a few minutes. I saw the thief going that way," he replied.
"Good," the fairy commented.
Sparx hoped that they weren't too fast in saving the eggs.
They reached the scene. Hunter pointed at the place where he saw the egg, "It was at that top of that cliff and-" he stopped when it wasn't there, "Where is it?"
Sparx noticed it and tapped on the side of his friend. He pointed at it and buzzed a few times.
"The thief," the purple dragon frowned. He saw the thief with the egg in her hands. Not only that, but the Rhynocs were ready to leave.
"That's bad. Okay Spyro. What's the plan?" he asked.
"I go down there and take care of them," the youngling replied. He prepared to charge.
Zoe replied, "Wait. Maybe we need a diversion. You never fought that many on your own at the same time."
Spyro sighed quietly and nodded. It was true, but they didn't have time.
Hunter grabbed an arrow and prepared to fire it, "I'll get their attention. You get them from behind when they look at me. I know how to use it."
"Okay," he ran in the bushes and slowly approached them. He tip-toed in the shadows of the trees as the sun was still going down.
Meanwhile, the cheetah aimed at one of the Rhynocs helmet. He just wanted to knock one of them in one hit. It would be good for them.
Once he was that his friend was in the right spot, he fired his arrow. The result was not what he was expecting at all.
It hit the helmet of the first one and knocked him on. The arrow bounced on the next helmet and somehow knocked that Rhynoc too. And A third one in the same fashion.
"That was beyond lucky," Hunter commented. He knew he would play it cool and he expected that.
The purple dragon saw his chance and charged. He knocked a few of them in the air before he avoided a spell by the thief. He opened his mouth and torched a few of them. He let out a small smirk as he approached the others. They were already more than half of them knocked out. He had a chance, "Listen to me thief. You will release my sibling right now and I won't be too bad with you," he scratched the ground as he prepared to charge again.
"I don't know who your friend is, but it won't be enough to stop us. We will not go down," she replied while holding the egg, "I cannot return empty handed."
"You will. I'll be a little nasty with you thieves!" the purple dragon saw another arrow that knocked another one of them. He took his chance as they looked away and tackled them. He yelped when one of them grabbed him by the tail and lifted him.
"Spyro!" Zoe loudly said.
The youngling was smashed on the ground. He painfully grumbled as his eyes spun. It hurt him, but not as bad because of his best friend protection.
Sparx approached the bad Rhynocs and punched him in the eye.
Spyro was dropped on the ground and torched the one who splatted him. He dodged another one and a spell from the thief. He finished a few of the remaining bad guys and went to her. He charged after her and tried to torch her. He missed, but didn't let up.
She jumped over the fire coming at her and almost lost her balance when she landed on the ground. She dropped the egg and it rolled away.
Hunter saw his chance and quickly dashed to it. He slid on the mountain and never let go of the egg on his sight.
Spyro attacked another time and forced her to go away from the dragon egg.
The cheetah grabbed the egg and raised his head. He saw a little bit under the hood of the thief who practiced magic. He hesitated for a few seconds before dodging a spell coming at him.
"We got back my sibling thief!" the purple declared with a small smug. He approached her, "We will not let any of my siblings hurt by you and whoever The Sorceress is."
"You are going to bring ruin to our realm," she countered.
"As if we can believe a stranger who steal the eggs and from what I heard, twice," Hunter crossed his arms.
"Twice?" she shook her head as if she just dismissed what she heard, "The-" she didn't want to explain it, "You will regret standing in our way," she prepared her wand, "I won't return to The Sorceress until I bring her an egg."
Zoe used her own want to cast a spell and sent the other one's wand away. The thief wand rolled on the ground while Sparx grabbed it and flew away.
The thief moved her fingers and the wand came back to her hand and pointed at them, but Spyro was too close to her. She looked at them and knew she was outnumbered, "You really made me mad dragon. Next time, I will not hold back," she disappeared with her magic and left the four on their own.
Spyro chuckled, "A bad guy threat. I heard that a few times and they never managed to do it," he turned at the others, "Thanks for the help guys," he raised his paw and slapped Sparx hand and they smiled. He did the same with Hunter.
"No problem," Zoe replied.
Hunter asked, "You saw that aim I got there Spyro?"
"Yeah. It was awesome!" the purple dragon replied.
The fairy nodded, "We manage to save another egg."
The purple dragon touched the egg and broke the curse. The fairy sent it elsewhere and nodded in satisfaction.
Hunter was pensive when the egg wasn't in his hand anymore. He asked, "Why do they want the eggs?"
"Well… when dragons were gone from this realm, magic went away with it," the youngling remembered.
"They want the eggs to get magic back in the realm," the cheetah realised that he forgot that explanation earlier. He nervously chuckled before he crossed his arms, "And… she didn't seem to know about the first time."
"Yeah, I notice that," Zoe commented.
"She is a thief. A bad guy. There is nothing good that will come out of her or The Sorceress. I'm sure she just doing a bad guy thing and pretending to be innocent about the first time," Spyro pouted at the thought that it might be genuine.
Sparx warned his friend that they knew little about the realm. Maybe there was more to it.
"Like a bad guy manipulating a good guy," the fairy told him.
That concept seemed to get lost in Spyro mind, "Whatever," he watched the egg containing his sibling teleported away.
The other three made no comment about the perception of the dragon on good and evil.
"Anyway, we should keep going. I don't know what they might do now, but it will get bigger," Hunter commented.
"Like Gnastic Gnorc army and Ripto's own troops," the youngling remembered that part.
"We should find a portal and go elsewhere," Zoe suggested.
"Good idea. Maybe we should go where the humans went. I'm sure they had found a few eggs already," the dragon took the lead as he searched for the portal.
"Spyro!" the cheetah raised his hand.
"What?"
"Once we reach another place, I'll go on my own and search for more eggs. Maybe this time, they won't let it that protected," he went by his side, "It's best that we find them quickly," he grabbed a few of his arrows that he could use once again, "Your siblings are counting on us and your new friends."
"Yeah," they began to search for a portal, meanwhile, the dragon also checked if Sheila might be around. If the eggs were all found here, it was best to keep going.
The group continued until the met Sheila.
"Who are you?" she asked when she saw the cheetah.
"That's my friend Hunter. He came with me to this realm," the purple dragon quickly said before they ended up in a fight. He let out a small smile and added, "We saved an egg before the thieves got away with it."
"We let the Rhynocs unconscious back there," Hunter pointed back.
"Did you find anything?" the fairy asked.
"No. There are probably no more eggs around here. I think Flame got the others. I saw some habitants coming out and beating a few Rhynocs. I think the people are really thinking of fighting back. Just some of them for now," she explained
"Anyway, we are going to a portal and move on," Spyro said.
She thought and nodded, "Then come with me. We will take the portal to reach the other realm," she hopped and went to the portal, "We have to take a portal to the dungeon and to then you will hop to the next realm. I'll stay on the back just in case we missed an egg," she told them.
"Okay," they group replied as they followed her.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
