Daisy panics after the ordeal with Fitz removing her inhibitor in season 5, May comforts her.

As soon as the gravitonium was put into the rift, Daisy made a beeline to the bunk she had claimed. Her hands were trembling, but not from her powers. She slid to the floor with her back against the wall and her knees pulled up to her chest. The shirt she wore was still damp from blood, her blood. Her stomach lurched at the thought and she squeezed her eyes shut, hoping she could block the memory out.

"Fitz… no, no, no, please! No!" She screamed and she begged but it was to no avail. The room was trembling around her while she screamed in agony, Jemma sobbed in the corner, but he continued with his mission. She wished it would stop, the room was becoming fuzzy, the pain was too much. Her heart was pounded and she let out another scream as he detached the inhibitor from her neck.

"I will never forgive you." Her heart shattered as she spoke the words. It hurt. Everything hurt. She couldn't handle it, she wanted, no, needed out.

"Daisy." She was trapped, she couldn't escape the pain that shot through her entire body.

"Daisy." Too much, it was all too much.

"Daisy! Daisy, you're safe now. I'm here." Someone's voice broke through the fog in her mind.

"Breathe with me, okay?" Daisy gave a miniscule nod and tried to focus on bringing air into her lungs. In, out, in, out.

"Good, Daisy." In, out. In, out. In, out.

"Good girl. Can you name five things you can see?" Daisy finally recognized the voice, Mom, May, Melinda May.

"Um.. bed… dresser…lamp, boots..." She took a deep breath, "and, um, my jacket."

"Four things you can touch?" Daisy began to list four things, then May moved on to three things she could hear.

"Okay, okay I'm good. I mean, I'm here now." Daisy said, taking another deep breath.

"Is it okay if I touch you? Take a look at the wound?" Daisy nodded and turned her body so May could get a good look at the incision. May's heart clenched at the site of the dried blood stain that ran down Daisy's neck.

"Come on," May offered Daisy a helping hand to stand up, "we need to get that cleaned up."

"It's okay. I can do it myself."

"I know you can, but it doesn't mean you have to." May pulled the girl up and steadied her as she began to sway. May wrapped a secure arm around Daisy's waist and led the girl to her own bunk. She got the items she needed and sat Daisy on the bed while she began to gently wipe the blood from the girl's skin. May remained silent as she got the job done, she knew that if Daisy wanted to talk she would. After several minutes, May was about to speak up, when Daisy finally spoke her mind.

"It was awful." She started. Her eyes were focused on her fidgety hands. "He was arguing with someone that wasn't even there. He-he tied me up and drugged me so I was defenseless. I was weak."

May paused what she was doing and looked Daisy in the eyes.

"You are not, nor have ever been weak." May said sternly.

"Well, I felt weak. I begged him, May, I pleaded with him to stop, b-but he didn't." She let out a small sob. "He cut into me and pulled out the inhibitor...and he didn't even care that I was screaming. He didn't care."

May pushed down her anger and channeled it into helping Daisy. She grabbed the girl's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"I can still feel it." Daisy said through her tears. "When I close my eyes I can feel the pain. And it hurts. How do I...how do I move on?"

Daisy stared up at May with wide eyes. Although it was a terrible situation, May could still see the child-like innocence in her expression. Daisy believed May could help her move on from this, but the truth was that this was something Daisy would carry with her forever. She knew Daisy would forgive Fitz eventually, but she also knew there would always be a part of Daisy that would have her guard up around him.

"I won't lie to you Daisy, it will be hard. You may never move on, you may never see Fitz the same again, but things will get better in time." May brushed some of Daisy's hair away from her face and laid her hand on Daisy's shoulder.

"It'll be hard, but I'm here no matter what, okay? We will get through this."

Daisy leaned into May's embrace, and May automatically wrapped her arms around the girl. Normally May wasn't big on physical affection, but Daisy brought out the mother in her.

"May, I don't know what to do. I-I'm supposed to lead, but I don't know where to go from here." Daisy sniffled and held back another sob. "I… I wish Coulson was here. I don't know what to do without him, I need him." I need my dad.

May could hear her unspoken words, I don't know what to do without him, when he's dead. If May was being honest, she didn't know how to process Coulson's death either. She knew that Daisy was under a lot of pressure between leading, processing Coulson's oncoming death, and now having to deal with the issue with Fitz. Coulson was always the one who was better with words, so May just pulled Daisy closer and let her cry it out.

Daisy clung to Melinda like a lifeline. She knew that in a couple of hours she would have to go lead her team, but for now she just needed her mom.

The sound of Daisy's sobs filled the room. May's heart broke for the girl, the girl who had wormed her way into her S.O.'s heart, the girl that had been tortured and betrayed repeatedly, the girl that had suffered heartbreak after heartbreak too many times at such a young age. Daisy had gone through too much and things were falling apart left and right. May knew these were difficult times, but she also knew that she'd be there for her daughter, no matter what. They would get through this, as a family. They had to.
