The next day, we begin to clear out the rest of the prison, starting with the gate that I clipped shut. "You ready?" Rick asks us all before unclipping the gate. "I'm ready as I'll ever be." I comment running to my first victim.
"Stay together. Get tight." Glenn shouts pulling me back into formation. "Sorry. Got carried away." I reply back to him as he sighs at me for being so reckless. I don't mean to be. It's just kill or be killed.
It's Rick, Daryl, me, Glenn, Maggie, and T-dog in one group. The others are cracking some walkers through the fence. We're almost through the first section when we see a whole herd on the other side.
We cram against the wall to keep out of sight. "Shit. What do we do?" I ask Rick since he's our leader. He'll know what to do. The guards are heavily armored with face shields and everything. How are we supposed to get to them?
When Daryl's arrow doesn't pierce through the hood, then we start to panic. "Rick, what do we do?" I scream slicing into a walker. "We need to figure out a way through the armor." Glenn says adding to my persistance.
Then Maggie was the first one to solve the problem - pierce under the neck at their weak point. We stare at her stunned as she screams happily at her accomplishment.
Seeing the flesh getting ripped off walkers or blood plattering doesn't really phase me anymore. I've learned to just let it happen. That's the only way we're gonna survive. I can't be getting squeamish over dead bodies anymore.
We gate off another section before scoping out the area again. Now that this section is clear, we need to push further. We need to figure out all the weak spots and fix them.
I know this isn't gonna be easy. I just hope nothing goes wrong during this whole thing. After opening the door, we creep through being aware at all times. I stay close to Daryl as we creep around every corner.
I try to be extremely quiet, but I really want to speak up. Where are all the walkers? Something doesn't seem right. Why is it so empty in here? I thought the prison would be littered with walking corpses.
I watch Rick as he slowly walks up the stairs to a guard tower. "Rick, be careful." I whisper to him scared. He shushes me before pacing up to the little room overlooking the cells below.
"What's going on? Did he find anything? Is he okay?" I panic waiting for Rick to come back down the stairs. "Calm down, woman. Haven't you ever heard of peace and quiet?" Daryl replies annoyed with me.
"Shut up. I'm just worried. Asshole." I say getting defensive at the way Daryl is talking to me now. "I know, babe. Just calm down." he assures me urging me to keep moving.
Rick unlocks the gate with a skeleton key he found on the dead officer in the overlook. Then we all barrel through to make sure the cellblock is clear. I follow Daryl up the stairs to the upper level.
Rick meets us a few seconds later nudging my elbow. He gestures to me asking if we found anything. I shake my head no and shrug my shoulders at his question. A second later, a walker flings itself against the cell door in front of us.
"Holy freaken hell! Scared the shit out of me." I say jumping back pretty far and clutching my chest. The two men flinch at first, then look to me. Rick looks concerned and Daryl starts chuckling at my reaction.
I punch Daryl in the side for laughing at me and he shuts up pretty quickly. Rick is still staring at me to answer him. "I'm okay. I'm fine. I guess I spoke too soon." I say once I calm my racing heart.
"Come on. We still have more to check." Daryl says urging us to continue down the hallway. I only flinch this time when another walker jumps at the cell door.
I was ready for it this time. Then I step forward and knife it through the eye. "Bastards." Is all I say before pulling my knife out and plunging it through the first one a couple times for scaring me.
Well we finally have a home now. At least it's secure. Maggie and I go gather the others while the men throw out the bodies. I don't know how I feel about sleeping in the cells. Knowing the other cellblocks are full of walkers. I guess it's better than nothing.
In the morning our plan is to find the infirmary and cafeteria. "Well. Everybody find your cells. We're gona sleep for now." Rick says resting against a cell closest to him.
"I ain't sleeping in no cage. We'll take the perch." Daryl says pulling me along. "Oh, okay." I quietly say to him while climbing the stairs. "See you tomorrow, guys." I holler to everyone from the top of the stairs. I hear a couple 'goodnights' before the others go to sleep.
As Daryl gets the bed together, I take another long look around the cellblock. "Hey. You okay?" he grabs my hand looking up at me. "Yeah. Just thinking." I smile at him as I sit down.
"Pfft. Thinking, huh? About what?" Daryl huffs sitting down in front of me. "About how our life is gonna be from here on out. This is a really good spot. We have everything, but...there's going to be people who want to take it from us. What do we do if that happens?" I sigh looking down at my hands.
"We'll deal with it later. For now, let's get some rest." Daryl cups my face in his big hand and lifts it up. I smile back at him for trying to make me feel better. But I still have a feeling in the pit of my stomach. Like this is the start of something that's going to end tragically.
"You know how people are these days. They take what they want and don't give a shit who they hurt." I say with sad eyes. "I can't lie and say it's not gonna happen, but...no one's gonna run us out of here, or get their hands on any of our people. I'll make sure of it." Daryl says kissing my lips tenderly.
"I love you." I place my hand on Daryl's cheek to pull him back in for another kiss. "Me too, babe." he places his arms around my waist and pulling me close. "Let's go to bed." I say covering his hands with mine. "I don't want to." he says kissing my neck.
"What? Why? You're the one that said we should sleep." I chuckle at Daryl. "I know. I changed my mind, though." he says kissing my collarbone. "Daryl, what are you doing? We need to sleep." I eye him wearily.
"We can later. Right now I want to touch you." Daryl says caressing down my chest. "Are you sure this is the right time?" I ask sucking in a breath. "Why not. We're alone. Everyone else is asleep." he says kissing down my neck.
Daryl continues groping my breast and placing a hand between my thighs. I sigh the more he touches me. "Someone's feeling frisky. You know we're out in the open." I say in raspy breaths.
"So. They're a whole nother level below us." Daryl whispers to me. "Besides, I have a raging boner." he winks at me adjusting himself in front of me before laying down with his hands behind his head.
I grin at Daryl glancing down at his crotch. He's proudly showing his hard-on. "Boy, aren't you horny tonight." I grin crawling on top and straddling him. "You gonna do somethin' about it?" he urges me to make a move.
"I don't know. Should I?" I tease wriggling my hips against Daryl's groin. He growls digging his hands into my hips and shoving my pelvis harder against his. He's been wanting this. I'm gonna pay for this aren't I?
I laugh at Daryl at his reaction. "Nah. We should sleep." I tease some more crawling down onto the blanket. "Oh, no you don't. You can't just tease me like that." he growls crawling over me and I laugh even more.
"Watch me." I grin tracing Daryl's chest and nudging his groin lightly with my knee. "Woman, you're trying my patience." he growls pinning my arms to the floor above my head.
I continue to smirk at Daryl at his annoyance at how difficult I'm being. "What's the matter, Daryl? Can't stand it anymore?" I tease while nudging him even more to rile him up.
I guess Daryl couldn't take it anymore as he kisses me deeply. I love his reactions when I tease him. When he lets me go, I flip him on his back to grope him through his jeans.
"You know, a cell would be better for this kind of thing. When we're feeling rather horny." I say staring into Daryl's lustful eyes. "We don't have the privacy of our tent anymore. What do you say?" I coax him to stand up with me.
"Hell. Let's do it. If that's what it takes to fuck you." Daryl quickly jumps up to pull me to the closest cell. I laugh at him the whole time trying to muffle my laughter. I don't want to wake everyone up because of our rowdiness.
