#SoulSister Pt 1
It was late at night in Metropolis, there usually wasn't anyone walking around at that hour but an old lady had just locked up her shop and was on her way back home. She walked through the streets just like she had done many times over the years. She heard some rattling happening behind her, causing her to speed up her pace. She glanced over her shoulder to make sure that no one was following her. However, she bumped into someone.
The old lady looked up and saw a big man wearing a black ski mask over his head.
"If you're thinking about screaming for help, I don't recommend it," He said, pulling out a pocket knife from his pocket. "Now, hand over the purse and no one gets hurt." He added, gesturing to the old lady to comply.
"The only one screaming will be you!" A voice called out from above their heads.
The purse thief and the old lady looked up and saw a green lightning covered shoe coming down from above.
"What the-?" The purse-snatcher cried out before the black shoe kicked him in the face.
The criminal was sent skidding back with a shoe print on his face. He looked up, groaning in pain. The sight before him was the last thing he wanted to see in an easy score.
Now in front of the old lady stood a hero. Deku from the Teen Titans had arrived, clad in his iconic green suit with long white gloves, black armored pants and shoes, and his green rabbit hoodie and metallic mouthguard. He had gotten the late night patrol of that area of Metropolis and was more than ready to stop any villain that crossed his path. The young hero took a combat stance and glared at the criminal. He smiled under his metal mouth guard before saying his catchphrase.
"No need to worry, because I am here!" Deku called out, striking fear into the criminal's heart. "Now, surrender before things get ugly."
The criminal was no fool however. He scrambled to his feet and took off, dropping his knife in the process.
Deku ran after him, making sure that the criminal wouldn't try anything else. But he stopped after the knife. He reached down and picked it off the ground.
"Well, that's probably for the best," Deku muttered before looking at the knife. "I'll drop this off at the police station and let them track him down."
"My goodness, thank you young man," The old lady said, getting Deku out of his thoughts.
Deku turned to face the old lady, putting away the knife in his utility belt.
"Are you alright, ma'm? Did he hurt you?" Deku asked. "Here let me escort you to your home."
"Oh, what a gentleman," The old lady said as they walked off away from the scene.
However, above their heads on the rooftop a figure was looking down on him like a hawk. The figure was femenine with long black hair and a pale white mask with a red dot on the forehead, resembling the Japanese flag.
"So, he is All Might's heir? A waste of power and far too reactive to the problems," The figure said. "He needs to be a symbol of justice and yet he allows evil to go unpunished. I will show him the error of his ways," She added before running atop the rooftops.
In a dark alley, far from the scene, the ski mask criminal kicked down a trash can in rage.
"I don't believe it, just my luck that Mr. Hero Rabbit shows up before I can make due with that old hag's wallet. How's a villain supposed to make an honest living with that punk cramping my style," He rambled on. "Next time I'll take care of him with some guys."
"You will not have a next time."
The criminal turned around and saw the same figure stepping into the alley, with shadows covering her body.
"Oh, great another one of them Titans," The criminal sighed. "Alright, take me in. Not that it'll make a difference. I'll be out by the end of the week."
The figure didn't respond. She narrowed her eyes at the criminal in front of her. Her left hand grabbed hold of her katana's sheath.
The criminal looked at her with confusion.
"I said, 'I give up'! Aren't you going to take me to the cops or something?" The criminal asked.
"No…" The figure replied.
She pushed her sword free with her right thumb. She grabbed the handle of her sword with her left hand. In the blink of an eye she drew the curved blade that glowed a pale white. She charged at the criminal and before he could so much as scream she struck him with the blade. She wiped the blade clean as the criminal fell down to the ground. Without looking at her slain adversary, she sheathed the blade.
"I will right the wrongs of this city, and bring about true justice," She said before vanishing in the shadows.
It was now day as Diana stepped into the ring while wearing a white fencing uniform. She lifted her foil with her left hand and assumed her combat stance with her signature smile. She thrusted against her opponent, forcing him to parry the attack. She swiftly moved her feet, pushing her opponent back with the speed of her blade. With a powerful war cry, she swung her blade past the defence of her opponent and poked him out.
A bell rang, signaling the end of the match.
"Wow, that was amazing, Diana," The opponent said, taking off his face mask. "You are so good that I barely lasted a second against you. Maybe you should be captain?" He added, shaking Diana's hand.
"Nonsense, I merely wish to sharpen my skills and improve. You are much better as the captain of the Metropolis Fencing Club, Joe," Diana replied, shaking his hand. "You should be proud of your improvement, you lasted longer than last time."
"Yeah, but only for two seconds," Joe replied. "I think I'll call it a day after that brutal fight."
"Very well, who would like to go next?" Diana asked, turning to the remainder of the fencing club.
The rest of the fencing club members stiffened up at the sound of Diana's challenge. Their faces turned to express horror and fear by Diana's challenge. They quickly picked up their equipment and rushed out the door, claiming that they had doctor appointments, dinner plans, dates and even a claim that they needed to go visit their in-laws.
"Was it something I said?" Diana asked.
"Don't take it personal, Diana. We aren't pretty thrilled about getting our butts kicked by you," Joe replied. "Maybe you should call one of your friends and see if they are available to challenge you? Like your boyfriend, Izuku?"
"Um, I don't think so. They aren't as experienced in swordfighting as I am," Diana said with a sad tone.
"I shall challenge you then," A stern yet feminine voice called out from behind.
Diana turned around and saw the owner of the voice. She was dressed in a red fencing uniform that hugged her hourglass figure like a second skin. Her protective helmet concealed her identity, but Diana could infer that she had noble bearings. She held her foil in her left hand and pointed it at Diana.
Diana smiled at the sight of the opponent challenging her to a fight.
"Ah, you're the new girl. You two play nice and be sure to lock up after you leave," Joe said, feeling like he had to get out of the gym.
After Joe nearly ran out, Diana held out her own rapier blade and took her spot across from her opponent.
"I did not quite catch your name," Diana said as they both assumed their combat stances.
"I did not give it. If you win, I might give it to you," The red swordswoman replied.
Neither female warrior moved at first. They sized their opponent, waiting for the other to make the first move. They each held their foils with their left hands, tightening their grip.
A second passed. Then another and another.
Diana rushed towards her opponent thrusting her weapon forward in a stabbing motion. But her opponent countered her attack with a parry, weaving around Diana's attack with ease. Diana spun in place, sending back her opponent before they clashed blades. Diana pushed her opponent back, but held back her Amazonian strength as to not avoid crushing her opponent.
"You are good," The opponent said as they parried their blades.
"I see that you are using the Saint George technique," Diana replied. "You are indeed a worthy challenger. I will have to use my right hand!" She said, jumping back from the stalemate.
Diana threw her foil in the air, catching it with her right hand. She charged once more, clashing blades with her opponent. Diana's moves were faster and forced her opponent to parry the attacks. The young Amazon was gaining ground with her stronger hand. She thrusted and clashed with her opponent.
"I fight left handed to improve my skills, I've found it to be good sportsmanship!" Diana said, stepping forward.
"Admirable, but it will not help you win this battle, for I have a secret to winning," She said, parrying the attacks.
"Is it that you are not left-handed either?" Diana asked.
"No, I am. It is that I am not so easily distracted," Her opponent clarified.
Diana's opponent spun in a circle, pushing Diana back. She thrusted her foil at the handle of Diana's weapon. She spun the blade of her foil, hitting the guard pulling it out of Diana's hand. The opponent took the spare foil and finished by thrusting her foil, poking Diana's chest.
"I win," The opponent said.
Diana gasped in surprise. She didn't lose often but when they came, she was amazed.
"My goodness... Oh how wonderful it is to experience a defeat!" Diana exclaimed. "I thank you for the great match. My name is Diana Prince, a pleasure to meet you," She said, holding out her left hand at her opponent.
Diana's opponent put the foils away before taking off her helmet. She had pale, peachy skin, long straight black hair that reached her back, and hazelnut colored eyes. She had a very regal face that appeared to be of Japanese descent. She shook Diana's hand before introducing herself.
"My name is Tatsu, Yamashida Tatsu," Tatsu introduced herself. "I just moved here from Japan. It is so nice to meet someone with great skill such as yourself."
"Oh, you're from Japan! I have a friend that hails from there as well, his name is Izuku Midoriya," Diana said. "I hope that you could teach me that technique you used to disarm me? I would be honored to learn from you."
"How about now?" Tatsu asked, handing Diana her foil back.
Diana smiled as she picked up her weapon.
They both assumed their combat stances. They then spent hours going through the lessons of Tatsu's technique. The sun had just fallen as they still practiced and trained with each other like two trained warriors.
Diana finished the training combat by copying Tatsu's technique and disarming her.
Tatsu was impressed with Diana's skill.
"Incredible, I've never seen someone learn that technique so fast," Tatsu said.
"Well, I've had a good teacher, Yamashida-sensei," Diana said, bowing in respect.
"Uh, Tatsu will suffice," Tatsu said just as the door to the gym opened up.
The two girls turned to the doors and saw Izuku stepping into the gym.
"Hello? Diana? Are you here?" Izuku asked.
"Oh, Izuku, right here!" DIana said, waving at her friend. "What are you doing here?" She asked as Izuku walked towards her and Tatsu.
"I came looking for you, it's pretty late," Izuku said, pointing to the window behind the two girls. "I guess you must've gotten very into your training."
"You are one to talk, Izuku," Diana replied, blushing slightly. "You can get into training as much as I do sometimes."
"Um, I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I should go," Tatsu said, feeling a little out of place. "I'll leave you alone with your boyfriend, Diana."
Tatsu's eyes landed on Izuku. Apart from his green hair and, for lack of a better term, "baby-faced" appearance, he looked rather plain to her, but she could see that more was under the surface.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Tatsu. This is Izuku Midoriya, the friend I was just telling you about," Diana said, introducing Izuku. "Izuku, this is my new friend, Tatsu Yamashida. She just moved here from Japan. She's a skilled warrior and an excellent teacher," She added.
"Oh, hi there, nice to meet you," Izuku said, bowing in respect.
Tatsu bowed in reply.
"We'll be right back, we just need to change and lock up," Diana said, pulling Tatsu to the changing rooms. "We'll be out in a second."
"Alright, take your time," Izuku said as Diana and Tatsu left for the changing rooms.
A short time later, Diana and Tatsu came out of the gym wearing their normal clothes.
Tatsu wore a long sleeved hoodie with a grey chest and red sleeves, black tight pants and black slip on shoes.
"I hope we did not make you wait long, Midoriya," Tatso said.
"It's no problem, Yamashida-san. You didn't take that long," Izuku replied, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.
"Izuku, you will never guess what Tatsu likes to do," Diana said. "She likes to train just like me! We're going on a training spree on Saturday, would you like to join us?" She asked.
"Um, no sorry I can't, I promised Kara and Téa that I would help them with their studies," Izuku apologized.
"Then perhaps we'll be able to hang out another time," Diana said. "If you are comfortable with it, Tatsu?"
"Oh, I would not mind him joining us. It would be nice to have someone from my native home around," Tatsu said. "I'll see you tomorrow, Diana. And I'll meet you at a later date, Midoriya-san." She added, bowing in respect.
Izuku and Diana bowed as well before they left the gym, leaving Tatsu to go on her own way.
Diana and Tatsu met on Saturday and just as they agreed they went on their own training montage. They wore sleeveless shirts, and tight training pants. They tied their hair in pony-tails before entering the gym. First they picked up a heavy pair of dumbells and lifted them with ease and intensity. They moved on to boxing and hand to hand combat. They furiously punched at the large sandbags and then took turns punching their abs. They raced up the stairs of a tall building. And finally they made it to a construction site where they stood on a metal beam, balancing on it as the workers lifted it to the higher parts of the construction.
The two women had developed a strong bond of sisterhood and literal strength.
The week had ended and the Teen Titans had settled on a movie plan for the night. They were walking out of the highschool while Jessica listed out their plan once more.
"Alright, we have chosen to watch Space Quest Wars V, right?" Jessica asked.
"Yes, I think we came to that conclusion," Izuku said. "It has good special effects for Karen."
"I really want to see the space ships," Karen squealed.
"Good costume designs for Zee," Izuku added.
"The dresses for the trailer were just so divine," Zee said.
"It has a good story for Jessica," Izuku listed off.
"I look forward to the plot of the story," Jess smiled.
"Lots of action for Kara and Téa."
"Yep," Kara replied.
"Give me lots of fighting and a bag of popcorn and I'm happy," Galatea said.
"It has awesome heroes for me," Izuku said. "Historical themes for Diana. And Barbara said she was okay with it as long as she can smuggle lots of burritos into the movie."
Barbara stuffed her backpack full of burritos with an obsessed smile on her face.
"Soon my pretties," Barbara moaned.
"Oh, I'm sorry friends, but I'm afraid I can't go with you," Diana apologized. "I agreed to meet Tatsu in the boxing ring."
"Again? Wow, you must really enjoy training with Tatsu," Izuku said.
"When are we going to meet this mysterious friend of yours anyway?" Kara asked.
"You may meet me now," Tatsu's voice spoke from behind the group.
The Titans jumped back, seeing that Tatsu stood amidst them.
"Um, hello," Tatsu said awkwardly.
"Oh, hello Tatsu. These are our friends, Kara, Galatea, Zee, Barbara, Jessica, and Karen," Izuku introduced. "Girls, this is Tatsu."
"It is an honor to meet you, friends of Diana and Midoriya," Tatsu said, bowing in respect.
"Oh, you don't need to be so formal, we're also happy to meet you, Tatsu," Jessica said.
"You got style girl," Zee said. "I like your hoodie."
"Yeah, glad to finally meet you. We've heard a lot about you," Kara added.
After hearing those words, Tatsu got into a combat stance.
"What have you heard? Who has spoken behind my back?" Tatsu asked the group with intensity. "I will make them regret spreading lies about me!"
The demonstration of intense warrior reflexes raised a few eyebrows from the group, even from Diana and Izuku.
"No, Tatsu, they mean we've said good things about you," Diana said, calming down the Japanese woman.
"Yeah, we have been telling them how good you are, Yamashida-san," Izuku added, holding his hands up in defense.
The words of both Diana and Izuku seemed to have done the trick.
Tatsu calmed down, dropping her combat stance.
"Oh, that is good then," Tatsu said.
"So, Izuku and Diana told us that you're from Japan. Where exactly are you from?" Jessica asked. "Tokyo? Kyoto? Musutafu, like Izuku?"
"None of those cities, I'm from a place that I can never return to," Tatsu said sadly yet dramatically.
"Right," Galatea replied. "Well, we kinda need to go. See you later Diana, you too Tatsu." She said as the rest of the group left the area while she dragged Izuku away from the situation.
As most of the Titans left the high school grounds, Izuku couldn't help but feel like they had been a little rude to Tatsu. Izuku's guilty feeling didn't subside through the course of the walk to the movie theater nor during the duration of the film. He hadn't been able to enjoy the film because he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more about the new Japanese student. She was always so uptight and disciplined, like a warrior on a mission. From what Diana had told him, Tatsu seemed to be more at home preparing for combat than what a normal teenager would. She also avoided talking about her past or anything else that didn't have to do with training. It just bothered Izuku for some reason.
The Titans left the movie theater after watching their film.
"I'm not saying that the movie was bad, but it felt more like a set up for the Space Quest Wars VI," Barbara said.
"Darling, are you alright? You've been quietly mumbling all the while," Zee pointed out, snapping Izuku from his daze.
"Oh, sorry about that," Izuku replied.
"Oh, don't worry Izuku, we know it's one of your quirks," Karen said.
"I've just been thinking about Tatsu," Izuku said.
"Dude, you already got more girls than any man can handle. Why do you want one more?" Galatea asked.
"It's not like that, I swear! But shouldn't we have said something to Tatsu? I feel like we didn't leave things on the best of terms," Izuku said. "I also think that she's hiding something from us."
"Well we just met her, so maybe?" Karen said.
Just then both Kara and Galatea stopped on their tracks.
"You guys hear that?" Kara asked.
"Hear what?" Jessica asked.
"It sounds like an alarm," Galatea said. "It's coming from the jewelry store!"
"Should we get Diana?" Izuku asked.
"It'll take too long, let's do it!" Kara said, revealing the crest of the House of El.
The Teen Titans quickly suited up and raced towards the source of the alarm.
The jewelry store's door was cut open in the shape of a cat's head.
The heroes entered the store ready to battle against their least favorite cat burglar, Catwoman.
"Be careful, Catwoman will have something ready for us," Deku said as the Titans looked for their enemy. "She must've cut the cameras, but the alarm worked on a separate network. There's no telling what she'll have waiting for us."
However, their expectations of a hidden trap ended when they spotted Catwoman laying face-down on the ground.
"Uh is her plan to look like she fell asleep mid-heist?" Bumblebee asked as the team slowly approached the catburglar.
Deku turned Catwoman on her back, revealing her face. Catwoman's face was pale, her mouth hung open, and her eyes were no longer mischievous brown but a ghostly white.
"What happened to her?" Batgirl asked.
Powergirl picked a stick from one of the trees outside. She poked Catwoman's face, hoping for a reaction. But she didn't get any.
"She's not responding," Powergirl said, poking the downed villainess. "Maybe she passed out?" She poked at her again.
"Powergirl, knock it off!" Green Lantern said, taking away the stick.
Batgirl kneeled next to the downed Catwoman to see what had happened. She pressed her fingers against Catwoman's wrist to check for a pulse. She felt it, although it was weak.
"Well, she's still alive but she isn't responding," Batgirl said as Zatanna knelt to her.
"Let me see what I can do," Zatana said as she casted a spell on the cat burglar.
Zatana's magic passed through the body of Catwoman. It went from head to toes, checking for any sort of anomaly.
Zatana jumped back in shock once her spell had run its course.
"Zatana, what did you find? Is it bad?" Deku asked, helping the young wizard to her feet.
"This… This is dark magic… Some really nasty stuff," Zatana explained. "Someone has used it to steal Catwoman's soul!"
"Her soul?!" Bumblebee screamed. "What do we do?"
"We can't leave her here. We'll take her to a safe place and then find out what happened to her," Deku said as Supergirl slugged Catwoman over her shoulder.
The Titans left the jewelry store with Catwoman in tow. As they walked they discussed who the possible culprit could be. None of their usual villains had such mastery over magic to steal a person's soul, the idea that someone new had done this was a big one. But the hunt for the new villain would have to wait, now they needed to put Catwoman's body somewhere safe.
"Where can we put her?" Bumblebee asked. "We can't just drop her in the lair, she'll discover our secret identities."
"Oh, we can drop her off at my house," Batgirl said. "My dad is out most nights."
"But won't that just lead to your dad learning your secret identity?" Galatea asked.
"Nah, he'll never find the body. I have some experience hiding bodies," Batgirl said.
"That's not a good thing," Deku said with a sweatdrop.
"Relax, I'm from Gotham. Hiding a body isn't a big deal," Batgirl said before tripping over something.
That something was the downed body of Harley Quinn. She was in the same state that Catwoman, with the ghostly white eyes.
"No way, she's just like Catwoman," Galatea said, poking Harley with a stick.
Green Lantern took the stick and threw it away.
"So whoever stole Catwoman's soul must've taken Harley's as well?" Batgirl said. "But why?"
"I'll go get something to take them on," Green Lantern said, flying off for a transport.
"I hope she doesn't take long," Deku said, before noticing Supergirl and Powergirl painting the faces of both Catwoman and Harley Quinn. "Supergirl, Powergirl, don't do that."
Catwoman had a smeared happy face made with lipstick and Harley had a mustache and beard.
"Were you two using my lipstick?" Zatanna asked.
"We didn't have anything else," Powergirl said sheepishly as Green Lantern arrived with a van.
"Alright, let's get them in," Green Lantern said, poking her head out of the driver's window. "I just hope my mom doesn't find out that we're transporting soulless villains."
The Titans loaded up the two downed villains in the back of the van before getting in.
Green Lantern drove off the van as Batgirl told her the directions for her house.
"Alright, so we have to hide two bodies, no biggie," Batgirl said as they drove off. "Now take the next turn to the left and-" She was cut off by Green Lantern hitting the breaks.
"We may have a problem," Green Lantern said, pointing to what was lying on the street.
The Teen Titans stepped out and saw the soulless bodies of Livewire, Poison Ivy, and Star Sapphire.
"Ok, I'm starting to see a pattern here," Bumblebee pointed out.
"Whoever is doing this is only targeting villains. Could they be a vigilante?" Deku asked as he and the other Titans got out to pick up the bodies of the other three villains.
"Hey, isn't that cavewoman, Giganta, usually with these guys?" Powergirl asked.
Almost as if tempting fate, the large body of Giganta fell from the sky on top of the van.
"There she is," Supergirl said, much to the dislike of Green Lantern.
Green lantern used her power ring on her mother's van to reconstruct it. Her van now had a green outline around it and the body of Giganta on top of the roof, tied like a bag of camping gear. She got back in the driver's seat and drove off to Batgirl's home.
A short drive later and the team of heroes had arrived at the Gordon residence.
The Titans rushed the soulless bodies of their most notorious villainesses and stashed them in Batgirl's room.
"Alright, now can we call Diana?" Bumblebee asked.
"On it," Deku said, pulling out his phone.
Thirty minutes later, Diana arrived at the Gordon residence and couldn't help but stare at the bizarre scene before her.
"What is going on?" Diana asked.
The villain girls had been set up as if they were having a sleepover. Giganta was 'putting' makeup on Harley Quinn. Catwoman was doing Star Sapphire's hair, which now looked like an actual star, courtesy of Kara. And Poison Ivy was putting mascara on Livewire, with pickles on their eyes.
"We needed to make it look like a sleepover, in case my dad comes around," Barbara said.
"But now we have a bigger problem," Izuku said. "There's someone going around stealing the souls of villains. It could be a vigilante taking out the criminal element in the city. But to take souls, that seems too extreme."
"It can't be your run of the mill vigilante," Zee said, thinking of a possible culprit. "Stealing souls is high level stuff, so it can't be just anyone."
"Then we must go out and find signs of this vigilante and stop them," Diana said. "Even if these are villains, they do not deserve to have their souls taken from them. Titans Together!" She called out their war cry.
The Teen Titans suited up once more and rushed to the scene of the crime. They ran on the top of the rooftops in search of the dangerous vigilante that stole the souls of the villain girls.
"Be on guard, friends. This enemy has abilities that we are not aware of," Wonder Woman said, jumping to the next rooftop.
"Zatanna, do you think you can use your magic to track whoever is doing this?" Deku asked the magic member of the team.
"I'm afraid I'll need something from our target or at least know their name for a tracking spell to work," Zatanna replied as she flew alongside the team.
"Then how do we find this creep?" Powergirl asked.
Just then a loud shriek caught the attention of the Titans.
"We could follow the loud shriek of terror," Batgirl suggested.
"Let's go then!" Green Lantern said as the team rushed towards the origin of the distress call.
The Titans rushed to the source of the cry and spotted a group of three men running down an alley. All the men wore dark suits and black ski masks on their faces. One of them turned around and fired his gun three times before it ran out of bullets.
"Who are those guys?" Supergirl asked.
"They look like they were just in a heist dressed like that," Batgirl commented.
"But why are they running scared?" Deku asked.
Just then, the answer appeared down in the alley.
A figure with long black hair rushed against the robbers. The man with the empty gun was struck by a swift ghostly blade, falling down with his eyes ghostly white. The figure didn't waste any more time and continued running after the rest of her quarry.
"There's our vicious vigilante!" Wonder Woman said. "After them!"
The Teen Titans ran after the figure in an attempt to prevent the vigilante from taking another soul. They ran as fast as they could just as one of the two remaining robbers tripped down on the alley. His partner in crime rushed back to help him, but then they were both trapped.
The vigilante raised her sword over her head, ready to strike at the fallen man and his companion. In a swift movement she brought down her blade, forcing the robbers to close their eyes in fear.
But the strike never came, they slowly opened their eyes and saw Wonder Woman blocking the attack with her shield.
"Leave now!" Wonder Woman said over her shoulder.
The two robbers ran out of the alley just as Wonder Woman pushed back the vigilante with her shield.
As the vigilante skidded to a halt she jumped upwards, trying to catch the robbers but she was caught by a green rope construct. She was pulled upwards to the rooftop where she was dropped. She landed gracefully on her feet before spotting the Teen Titans surrounding her.
The Titans now had a good look at the vigilante in question. She had long black hair, a white mask that covered the upper part of her face with a red dot in the middle. She wore a black shirt that clung to her skin along with a pair of black leggings, red stealth armored sheen protectors and shoes, an armored female samurai chestplate, and a shoulder karuta armor over her right arm over a red sleeve. And she held a ghostly white samurai katana in her left hand.
"Your little soul stealing streak is over, vigilante," Wonder Woman said, drawing her sword.
"You dare get in the way of my mission? I should've expected as much," She said, glaring through her mask. "Heroes are nothing more than mere treatments for the symptoms."
"What are you talking about?" Deku asked, preparing for a fight.
"I am most surprised that you do not understand it, heir of All Might," She said, sending shivers down Deku's spine.
Deku's eyes widened at the words that this female ninja was saying.
"Villains cannot be contained, they need to be taken out for peace to truly be achieved. That is why I'll wipe out any who threaten peace. For I am Katana," Katana said. "Now, step aside. I have work to do."
But none of the heroes moved an inch.
"Not happening, sister," Supergirl said.
"Titans Together!" Wonder Woman called out, charging at Katana.
Katana didn't waste her breath, she would strike down those that got in her way. She dodged the attacks of both Supergirl and Powergirl, swiftly striking them in the back with her ghostly sword.
Both Supergirl and Powergirl gasped at the sword's strike.
There was a moment of shock when the attack landed on the two Kryptonians. Their bodies stood still for a brief moment before their very souls came out from the inflicted wounds. The souls then traveled into the sword, as if it absorbed them.
"No way! The Soul Taker Sword!" Zatanna gasped.
"You know that sword?" Deku asked.
"It was forged a long time ago by a warrior mystic that sought to punish the wicked by trapping the souls of the evil doers inside his blade," Zatanna explained.
"How do we get them out?" Wonder Woman asked.
"We need a special spell known only to the wielder of the sword," Zatanna explained.
"But you shall not have it, villains," Katana said with anger in her voice.
"Release our friends, perra!" Green Lantern said, creating a green construct.
Green Lantern created a large butterfly-trapping net over Katana. She slammed it down, forcing the vigilante to jump back, avoiding capture.
Batgirl took the chance and jumped in to capture the ninja woman. She flung her batarang at Katana, wrapping her with the rope tied to the bat-shaped shuriken. Batgirl pulled on the rope, tightening it. But before She could procure the vigilante, Katana sliced the rope with ease with her blade.
Katana grabbed hold of Batgirl's rope and pulled her towards her. She readied her blade to take Batgirl's soul, but she was caught by Deku's Black Whip.
Deku pulled her back with his quirk along with his Full Cowling increasing his strength. He flung Katana away from Batgirl and right into an awaiting Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman clashed her blade against Katana's blade. They clashed and parried each other with great skill and power. However, the more that Wonder Woman clashed steel against the vigilante, the more she saw similarities with her opponent's skill. She pushed and thrust her blade against her opponent, trying to break her defense. But Katana was doing her best to remain with the upperhand.
Katana spun in place, slicing in a circular fashion. Her attack forced Wonder Woman to jump back, giving Deku, Zatanna and Bumblebee to jump in to fight. She ducked under Deku's spinning kick before she pushed him back. Katana then focused on the attacks of both Zatanna and Bumblebee.
Zatanna fired a blast of magic which Katana narrowly avoided. She fired another blast only to get the same result. Zatanna created a protective bubble around herself just as the blade of the Soul Taker sword came at her. The attack didn't shatter the bubble, but it did sent her back.
Bumblebee shrunk down into her small size. She flew around Katana's head, buzzing like a normal bee. Katana smacked Bumblebee away with a powerful left hand, just as she was about to fire her stingers.
Katana turned her attention back to Green Lantern and Batgirl as they swung after her.
Wonder Woman helped Deku back to his feet.
"We aren't getting anywhere like this," Deku said.
"I have an idea, cover me," Wonder Woman said before they charged at Katana.
Kanata sliced through one of Green Lantern's constructs before giving a split kick to both Green Lantern and Batgirl.
"Since you have decided to stand in my way, I am left with no choice but to strike you all down," Katana said, lifting her sword to strike.
"Delaware Smash!" Deku called out, firing a blast of air at 20% of OFA.
Deku's attack sent Katana flying and away from Deku's teammates.
Katana managed to stop herself by embedding her sword on the ground.
Deku charged in at high speeds. He threw a roundhouse kick at Katana, forcing her to bend backwards to avoid it. Just as Katana pulled out her sword, he jumped back and used his power to run circles around her. He grabbed hold of her right arm and spun her around before performing a judo throw over his shoulder.
Katana rolled back to her feet and stood with her sword ready.
"Not bad, but All Might would've ended this battle in the blink of an eye," Katana said. "You've yet to control the full extent of your power."
"I'm still learning, but I've got friends to help me get there," Deku said.
Katana noticed a shadow growing above her. She turned around just in time to block Wonder Woman's sword.
"Zatanna, now!" Wonder Woman cried out.
Zatanna flew down from behind and placed her hands on Katana's head.
"Kaeps eht tnemtnahcne ot esaeler eht slous!" Zatanna chanted forcing Katana to obey her.
Katana's eyes glowed bright purple as Zatanna did her magic. She began to chant the incantation to release the souls from the Soul Taker sword.
The sword glowed bright white as the souls escaped the cursed blade.
The souls went back to their respective bodies.
Supergirl and Powergirl both woke up from their slight coma, taking in a deep breath.
Once the souls were released, both Zatanna and Wonder Woman stepped back.
"Is it over?" Bumblebee asked.
Katana's eyes snapped open before she threw down a smoke bomb, blinding the group.
The Teen Titans coughed as the smoke cleared out. They looked around but there was no sign of Katana.
"Looks like she gave us the slip," Batgirl said.
"Yeah, but now we need to find her before she hurts any more people on her misguided quest," Deku said.
"Or hurt herself," Wonder Woman added sadly.
