Patchwork Road

Chapter summary: Looking down at somebody weaker than you are is a universal trait, apparently.

The Avengers – the remaining Avengers – are left inside, locked inside, while the yet-unnamed giant steps out, still clutching the no-longer-screaming Loki in its arms.
The imprisonment would have been bearable, Clint thinks, if only the other giants didn't peek through the ventilation holes riddling the stone walls of the hut, if only those giants didn't gesture towards the humans and talk among themselves as if the captives weren't humans but pets.
He genuinely thought only the megalomaniac Loki did that! Now he remembers that Thor sometimes does that, too.
So what does this say about the place of humanity on the pecking board of the universe?
