Chapter 47: Sienna

Some might call the day's work of the high leader of the White Fang exhausting. It required monitoring the Vale Branch, the Mistral Branch, the Atlas Branch, the Mantle Branch, and the Vacuo Branch, all from the small, desert island of Menagerie. Planning raids on SDC freight trains and cargo ships was common, as was initiating new members, approving propaganda pamphlets, and meeting with Ghira Belladonna, chieftain of Menagerie. Many would find it simply overwhelming, but not Sienna. To Sienna Khan, the work of the high leader of the White Fang was invigorating. It was a way for her to play her part in achieving equal rights for the Faunus.

"High Leader Khan," Corsac greeted after Ghira Belladonna took his leave from their meeting. The sun had set in Menagerie, and shattered moonlight filtered in through the tall windows of her throne room. Corsac was accompanied by his twin, Fennec, and both bowed before approaching her.

"Brother Corsac, Brother Fennec," Sienna nodded, "state your mind,"

"We have heard from Brother Adam," drawled Fennec. "He has arranged a meeting with our Selection contestants tonight."

Sienna's eye twitched. Arranging a meeting with the Selection contestants was her responsibility, not Adam's. Was this a grab for power? Or merely an attempt to go above and beyond to impress her? She decided to let it go. Adam was a promising young Faunus who had shown nothing but dedication to the cause. Surely he had only taken the initiative to organize this meeting because of his personal closeness to their spies: Blake and Ilia.

"Very well, I'll join in a moment," Sienna said. The twins bowed graciously before they took their leave, and Sienna pulled out her scroll, dialing Adam to join the call.

"High Leader Khan," Adam said with a smile as her face appeared on the call.

Blake and Ilia were already there, and Sienna narrowed her eyes. She didn't like being late to her own meeting. "Brother Adam," she nodded, "Sister Blake, Sister Ilia, I'm glad you all could join,"

The two girls nodded. Based on their backgrounds, they safe in private rooms in Beacon Castle, but Sienna asked, just to be sure, "are you in a place where you can receive confidential information?"

"Yes, High Leader Khan," replied Ilia, and Blake nodded in agreement. "We have the rest of the night off due to the elimination,"

"Who was eliminated?" asked Sienna. There were very few contestants that could be won over to their cause, and, if possible, she wanted to keep them alive.

"Neon Katt," replied Blake.

"A Faunus," Adam scoffed, "just as suspected, Prince Jaune is guilty of the same bigotry as the rest of humanity,"

Sienna nodded slowly. She hadn't really expected a human prince like Jaune Arc to keep a Faunus around in his dating pool. "Are you two being treated alright?" she asked.

Blake and Ilia both shrugged. "Some of the contestants are really nice," offered Blake.

Ilia snorted, "and some of them… not so much. Weiss Schnee is here. If at all possible, High Leader Khan, we should have the attack before she can get eliminated."

Sienna nodded. "I agree. Time is of the essence. We should have the preparations ready by the end of the month. We're going to strike four Saturdays from now, during the Capital Report."

Blake and Ilia both looked at her in shock. "During the report?" Blake repeated, "but, if the humans catch the White Fang attack on camera… that's a massive amount of publicity,"

"Publicity is exactly what we need," Sienna pointed out. "Everyone across Remnant watches the Capital Report. If we attack then, we let the world know that we mean business. Humans everywhere will see that they can't push the Faunus around anymore. They'll see that we're not a force to be degraded. We're a force to be feared."

Ilia hesitated. "But… if everyone's watching this attack from their homes, aren't you worried about Grimm?"

"Grimm attacking humans?" Adam snorted. "That doesn't sound all that bad to me,"

"It will only further the spread of our cause," Sienna agreed. She saw Blake look away, and pressed on. "The rest of the details are still being worked through, but I wanted to let you know a time and place so you are able to prepare. You will be allowed to join our ranks and fight when the White Fang lands. I doubt the Selection will continue after the chaos we cause, so there's no need to continue the charade of acting like innocent girls seeking Jaune's heart. While we wait for further developments to send you the rest of the plans, you should train. Learn the fighting styles of the other contestants and the surrounding Huntsmen. Learn their weak points. Anyone who could pose a threat, find a way to eliminate them. And please," she insisted, "continue persuading the Prince to allow you to stay. This attack will fail if we don't have help on the inside."

"Of course, High Leader Khan," said Ilia. Blake stayed silent, biting her lip.

"Sister Blake?" Sienna pressed.

Blake blinked, then seemed to shake off whatever reservations she was contemplating. "Of course, High Leader Khan."
