Jackknife stood protectively in front of Tasuku. The dragon sniffed the air loudly and turned his head back to the boy as he heard his nicknamed used. He then turned towards the two demons who gazed at each other's uncertain.
"A-another one?" the humanoid lion demon asked.
"Not a problem for us demons!" the humanoid lizard replied.
Demios pointed his swords at them and waited, "Come at us demons. I will cut you all down to pieces."
They hesitated for a moment. They seemed to make up their mind and charged together towards them.
The darkness dragon swung his sword and hit the demon on the chest sending him away. He noticed that the demon left himself quite open when he stroke.
Jackknife jumped back when the demon was close to him and countered with a tail whip right on the face of the lion face. He sent him away and charged.
Tasuku went to help Demios and slid under the demon as it tried to crush him with his shields. He sung the sword at the back and hurt the demon.
Demios slashed, but his attack was blocked, but he wasted no time and kicked the gut of the demon and sent him away. The demon lizard rolled on the ground and had his tongue falling out of his mouth, "Feels like he was lacking," he grumbled before turning to the other demon.
Jackknife pointed his blade towards him and slashed, causing a few more wounds at the demon. He jumped backward and yelled, "Is that enough or you want more? Or you are telling me I shouldn't hold back anymore?"
The two demons squeaked loudly as they stood up and ran away from them, to the confusion of Tasuku and Demios.
"They are too strong for us! Yamigedo! They are some meany monsters after us!" they both yelled together as they disappeared on the horizon.
Tasuku discarded his sword away and turned towards his father figure.
Jackknife sniffed the air loudly for a few seconds as he looked around.
"Those demons are way too weak," Demios commented and crossed his arms. He turned towards, "It seems that they turned lazy and don't expect opposition from us now," he stopped talking when he saw his buddy looking at the Star Dragon.
The head of the green dragon finally stopped towards the boy, "You're alright Tasuku?"
The boy wasted no time and hugged his buddy, "Jack… Jack… I found you!"
"I'm here Tasuku. I'm here," he hugged him back as he sobbed quietly, "The demons didn't hurt you right?"
"No."
"It's been so long," Jackknife managed to see, before quietly crying.
The darkness dragon noticed that something was wrong, as the green dragon didn't notice him, despite being right in front of his gaze. Not only that, but he heard the dragon using his sense of smell loudly and much more than any dragon should. Demios guessed it might be because he focused that much on Tasuku and did notice him, "Jackknife."
The green dragon raised his head and sniffed the air. It took a few seconds and grunted, "Demios."
The darkness dragon was certain that something was up now. He changed the subject from him to the actual problem, "What happened to you? You took a while to know it was me."
The boy heard it and raised his head, "J-Jack?" He had to admit that something was going on.
Paruko, Takosuke and Sofia came and saw the boy and his dragon finally reunited. It was faster than they expected.
"Is there a problem Jack? Answer me."
Jackknife sighed, before he replied, "I…"
"Jack?" The boy took a few steps back. He noticed that the eyes of his buddy were kinda dull, or the pupil eyes seemed to be gray. He put his hands on his mouth and he began to wonder if.
"You're blind, aren't you?" Demios asked, "You are sniffing loudly even now."
"Y-yes," he dropped his head and yelped when his buddy suddenly hugged his head.
Episode 39: A Way To Heal
The two girls and the octopus alien monster joined the group as they quickly approached them.
"W-What is going on?" Paruko asked as she came by the side of the boy.
"Jack… he can't see," Tasuku replied.
The darkness dragon crossed his arms and asked, "How did this happen Jackknife?"
"I think it's the damage that Variable Cord commented when we fought against him. There is something wrong with my new armor. Since I became a Star Dragon, my sight was enhanced, but if it isn't working well… I turn blind," the green dragon sighed as he sniffed at the boy, "It can be fixed Tasuku. We just need help for that."
"That's good and-" the boy was cut by the big dragon.
Jackknife let out his joy and relief, "I'm so happy to hear your voice again. To be together again. I've missed you so much."
The boy sniffed as he nodded, "Me too. It felt so empty in our home," he didn't want to leave the darkness dragon out as he didn't let him alone, "Demios came to help me protect Tokyo. When I asked for his help, he came to help us," he robbed his hand on the jaw of the green dragon.
"I couldn't leave him alone on his own," the darkness dragon replied. He took no offence as they talked together.
"That's great and all, but maybe we should get out of here and return to our time," Paruko suggested.
Jackknife nodded negatively, "I-I can't. Variable Cord is somewhere and I have to find him. I think the demons are searching for him. They want to kill the last Omni Lord as they said."
The group lightly paled at that thought. It also meant that Drum had been slayed by the Hundred Demons.
Knowing that, the group knew they couldn't return to their world right now. They needed to find the Omni Lord and got him back to the present as quickly as possible. It was a race against time now.
"We still have to help you Jack," Tasuku replied.
"Variable Cord can fix me. He… He went to get something for that and didn't come back. It's been so long now," the green dragon replied.
Demios said, "Then we have to find him and-" they heard something far away, but it seemed to come their way.
"More demons are coming, we have to leave now," Jackknife quickly said.
"Too much for us," the darkness dragon assumed.
A voice suddenly told them, "This way!"
The group turned around and saw the two children they saved. They waved at them to follow them.
The group had no choice, but to trust those children.
They followed the two kids as they went into the underground of the city. They climbed the stairs and the darkness began to surround them.
"Careful. It's dark in here," Paruko said.
"No difference for me," Jackknife replied as he slowed down behind them.
"S-sorry."
Sofia asked the children, "What are you doing here?"
The boy asked, "What do you mean?"
"Why are you outside when they are demons around?" she corrected herself with a hint of annoyance.
The girl turned around, but with the darkness, they couldn't really see her face, "We searched for something to eat. It's hard to find stuff. Our guardians are also busy with bringing a few other things too. He found something away and he had to let us behind."
"Why would they do that?" Demios asked.
"They said it's too dangerous to follow them outside of the underground. That demons are roaming around and we might get hurt," the boy replied.
The two young children sighed together as they proved their guardians right.
"You should have listened to him," Jackknife grumbled as he hit his head on something and took a few steps back.
"Jack," his buddy helped him and brought his head down, "I'll guide you."
"Thanks, Tasuku."
The darkness dragon sighed as they continued walking. They reached the tunnels of the underground railway. The young children jumped down there and the group followed them.
"We surely lost them. They cannot do well enough in the tunnel. They are afraid of an ambush from our guardians. He beat many of them and let them cry away," the girl chuckled.
Paruko asked, "Those demons don't seem as strong as we thought."
"They aren't really doing a lot. They don't train to fight… Most of them. They do little when they aren't hungry," the boy replied.
Sofia asked, "No wonder they are weaker if they stopped fighting… Are they any other monsters from other worlds around?"
The others wondered if they saw a golden dragon.
"With those two… three. Our guardian is also a monster," the boy answered as he took a few steps forward.
"I guess they didn't come here when Yamigedo conquered and destroyed our world," Tasuku whispered.
Jackknife hummed the air and turned his head at the general direction of the darkness dragon, "Demios. You have my thanks for watching over my buddy."
"No problem. I am ready to protect Tasuku with my life since he called me. I helped him with everything, but I know I cannot replace you," Demios replied. He sighed and added, "He is my friend Jackknife and I still consider once of us."
"I know. As long as you don't try anything."
"I have no intention to try anything. I have nothing to do against him or you anymore," the darkness dragon replied as he put his long sword on his back.
"Good to know," he sighed.
"All I wanted was him to be happy once again. Reuniting you two was the best way," the leader of the Purgatory Knight concluded.
"We are together again and I won't let anyone take you away," the boy told his buddy.
The two children they saved had no idea what they were talking about.
"We are almost here," the children said as they accelerated the pace.
The group followed them and reached a room that looked like a camp. They could see some remaining of beds and also some cans of food and other non-perishable food.
They could see the children well under the light.
The girl had long gray hair, pale blue eyes and peach skin. She wore a white and blue suit with a blue cape.
The boy had peach skin, short gray hair and pale blue eyes. He wore a dark purple suit with a red jacket.
"Hey! They are back!" a voice suddenly said. It corrected itself, "Not alone, but not- Jackknife?" the voice said surprised.
The group stopped when they heard the voice. It was familiar and another one said, "Jackknife is alive?" the other voice said.
That one sounded more mature and tired.
Sofia wondered who came towards him.
They saw the two in the light and they gasped. The two were Magoroku Shido and Gallows.
Shido was a man with gray hair, many scars on his body and was missing an arm. He wore some old green clothes on him and damaged black pants.
Sofia paled when she saw that her friend was missing an arm. She wondered what happened to him between her time and the future.
Gallows had many bandages on his body and mostly around his left part of his face. A part of his horns was missing and his skull was cracked outside of the bandages.
"Who's there?" Jackknife asked as he tried to see who it was. They were too far for him to smell them right now.
"Shido?" Sofia asked as she took a few steps forward.
"W-who-" the man stopped as he approached them.
"Don't worry. We are not going to cause trouble," Tasuku quickly said as he raised his hands.
"They saved us Magoroku," the boy said as he went by his side.
"Sofia?" Shido asked as he joined her, "It's an hallucination," he cleaned his face, "It can't be. They got you and Tasuku."
"You forget about Jackknife. Yamigedo ate him," Gallows commented.
"W-what?" the green dragon yelled.
"What's going on?" Shido ordered as he looked at them. He realised quickly they were way too young.
Everyone looked at each other's. They quietly wondered what they should do or not.
Demios took the decision and replied, "There is a lot to say and explain," he crossed his arms and began, "It's going to be hard to believe, but we are coming from the past. So, we don't know anything that happened during that time. We just saw this part of the Earth destroyed by Yamigedo and his demons."
The others from the past began to explain everything to Shido. The man nodded while his buddy crossed his arms and nodded. The two children stood by the side of the Gallows. They explained how they saved the children and why they came here.
"So, an Omni Lord came here with Jackknife and you somehow managed to come here," Shido asked in disbelief.
"That's so cool! You can and kicked those demon's ass," the boy declared as he approached them.
"I think we can believe them. Demios wouldn't lie at all about anything," Gallows frowned, "You lost some pounds since the last time we saw you, taking Azi Dahaka back to Darkness Dragon World."
"I what?" the purgatory knight dragon yelled.
"Anyway, we are here to find Variable Cord. He's a golden dragon. He can help Jack and healed him so he can see something again."
Magoroku Shido thought about it. Before explaining what happened, he decided to make that decision now. He gazed at his buddy and nodded, "We can help you with that. If we help you, you can change this mess," the man and his buddy looked at the two children. He went at them and said, "I think I saw something like that. I'll explain what happened as we go there."
"Can we come with you?" the children asked.
"Of course not. It's obviously going to be dangerous!" Tasuku quickly replied before Shido or Gallows could.
The man and his darkness dragon buddy looked at each other's. They turned their gaze back to the children and let out a loud sight. They had a 'I'm sorry' gaze at Tasuku and the others.
"You think they aren't going to follow us?" Gallows asked them.
"Of course. It's foolish to have children following us," Jackknife replied as he tried to look at them. His head only went to their general directions.
"But you have children coming with you too," the girl pointed at Tasuku, Paruko and Sofia.
Shido raised his shoulders, "Got anything to reply at them? Because I have nothing. It's true that you are children now," a hint of melancholy was in his voice.
It was then that Sofia noticed something on the corner of the room. She recognised gravestones. While the others argued about the children following them or not, the girl approached it.
She put her right hand on it and rested her palm on the grave stone. She looked at it and recognised her name. What was strange was that right besides it, Tasuku name was on it. She wondered what was going on as she went to the third one. Jackknife name was on it, "We died on the future… and this is where we rest," she whispered.
Paruko joined her with her buddy and yelped when she saw the gravestones.
The two dragons and Tasuku were too busy to notice what the others were observing as they continued on their arguments.
"We cannot let them come," Tasuku grunted at the end of his arguments.
"I know them well Tasuku. I raised them since- Since their parents were gone," his eyes darter to his left, where the others from the past were standing, "I know they made up their mind and will follow us."
Tasuku and Demios looked at them and had to agree that they were eager to join them. Enough to do many reckless things for it to happen.
Jackknife sighed loudly, "They are a little like you Tasuku. Eager to help me before… when they were after my life."
"I still haven't forgotten about it. So far in the past that it feels like good times now. I know it's a bad way to say it, but with everything going on, this was when Earth was still alive and not… like this," Gallows concluded with a depressed tone.
"Fine," Tasuku admitted defeat. They would still come with them, but out of their sight. There was another reason, but he didn't know what it was.
The two young children of the ruined future grabbed their hands together and smiled.
"But you have to stay close to us and not wander around," Shido began to explain everything they shouldn't do.
It took a while as Gallows added a little bit of his own.
The darkness dragon took his real form and the group began to march in the underground.
Demios asked Shido, "Where did you see that golden dragon?"
"The golden thing was flying towards one of the few remaining skyscrapers. It is a little closer to Yamigedo. That's why we didn't go near when we saw it."
"We don't have a dead wish," his buddy replied.
Jackknife noticed something, "You don't really say Sha in your speeches anymore Gallows," it was creeping him out a little.
"Not the mood for that," he replied.
"It's been like that for ten years," the man replied as he gazed at them.
Paruko scratched her head and asked, "Do you know anything about the others?"
"The others are gone or somewhere else I don't know about. I just know that most of the world is like this now. I think it's only in the far south that has the last bastion, but it's just a rumor. I'm not even sure if Gao is still alive or not," Shido explained.
Tasuku face paled at the thought of his friend might be dead in the future. It made him nervous and wondered if he could do anything to prevent this fate from happening.
"And with Tasuku gone, I'm not sure Gao made it," Paruko commented sadly.
"Agreed," Sofia nodded.
Demios frowned as he heard the pink-haired girl making that comment. Something didn't made sense. His buddy was by his side. They came from the past and if Tasuko was gone, then shouldn't he also be gone from the future? They also mentioned that he was back alive and got some fat. He put his hands on his hip.
"What is it Demios?" the boy asked.
"I'm not sure, there is something not holding up here," the darkness dragon replied. He scratched his cheek and said, "Why do they know I'm back in Darkness Dragon World? Why are you dead in the future when you are here?"
Jackknife heard it and he wondered that too. There was something going on in there and he had no clue.
"Maybe it's some time traveling stuff we don't understand at all," Tasuku replied as he brushed this off. It was too complicated and he rather focused on the present.
"Yeah…" the Purgatory Knight didn't believe that at all. Something was up. His guts told him that he had to keep an eye on what this future was. Something was hidden in plain sight.
"How's it going Sofia?" Shido asked the young girl.
"Okay," she replied.
"Looks like what we did to prevent all of this failed right?" the man sighed.
The white-haired girl gulped as she got the gaze of the others at her, "We can still change it with that we learned here."
"What's going on here?" Tasuku asked suspiciously.
The girl looked at the others and hesitated to answer. She wanted to say something to Shido, but she was aware that in his mind, it was all over and didn't have to bother hiding anything anymore.
"What did you try to do to prevent this?" Paruko asked.
"Takochu!" her buddy replied as he probably wanted the answer.
Sofia gazed at the side and crossed her arms, telling them the plan was out of the question, "I can't tell."
"Something about Azi Dahaka and Kyoya right?" Demios quickly guessed.
"Yes. We played a dangerous bet to save the world and prevent that from happening, even if we have to do not the greatest things for that," Shido began explaining.
No going back now, "Fine. Since he is going to say it anyway, I'll tell you, but do not say anything to anyone else. Not until we stopped Yamigedo. Even if it failed now, we can still change everything with what we know."
"With Variable Cord in the future and not in our time, I don't think it would have worked in the present anyway," Paruko commented a bit in the defense of the other girl.
Demios grumbled as it came back to time traveling and why Tasuku was dead in the future.
"The first part of our plan was to minimize at best any destruction Yamigedo could cause. If we didn't do that and told them of how much of a threat the Future Force was, the demons would have rampaged our city. For that, we have to play as their servant. We are the Death Shido's. Me and Magaroku Shido," she began explaining. Somehow, it took a way a bit of weight she didn't even know she had. She was very good at hiding it, maybe a little too much if she wasn't even aware of it.
Everyone of her timeline made a blank face, as they were too many emotions coming out at once.
Demios decided to ask, "Why Azi Dahaka wanted you to do that?"
"It is part of a greater plan from someone else. Azi Dahaka is the only one who knows who that plan came from. He refused to let anyone, except Kyoya know about it. That's why they aren't that many hurt and no one died yet. We did everything to avoid that. We convinced them that they would lose if Gao fully awaken the Future Force."
Jackknife took a more professional approach and asked, "So, you are just with them to limit the damage, while pretending to be by their side."
"Yes. If we are found out, we are dead. That's why you can't say anything," Sofia said, putting emphasis on their endangered life.
"Why Death Shido?" Paruko asked.
"Because it pointed so much as me that you wouldn't think it was me. And it worked," Shido replied.
"That's… that name was too obvious. Even for me," Demios had to admit with a bit of shame, "And I didn't know anything about it Jackknife," he warned the green dragon when he saw him opening his mouth.
"Fine. I didn't need my eyes to notice how shameful you felt Demios. Anyway, we have to keep going," the green dragon said.
"We kept walking," Paruko replied.
The green dragon gasped as he smelt the air. He felt the others went forward as they were talking. He quickly joined them. Tasuku grabbed his hand and guided him, not letting him go.
"I insist that none of you say anything about it to anyone. We are still acting as if we are on the side of Yamigedo. You are going to put us in trouble," Sofia asked them a little forcefully.
The others looked at each other's were unsure of what they should say.
Demios replied, "Of course. It is a mission given by Azi Dahaka."
"We won't," Tasuku replied next.
"Tasuku?" Jackknife asked surprised.
"If we want to stop Yamigedo, we need every help we can get. We have already more people ready to help us like Paruko and Takosuke," the boy replied.
"Tasuku," the green dragon whispered. He sighed and nodded, "Fine."
"No problem! If Tasuku and Jackknife are fine with it, I'll be too," Paruko agreed.
"Takoshu!" her buddy replied.
"Thanks."
Shido nervously chuckled, "S-sorry for the trouble."
"No problem," Sofia replied.
The two children approached them. The boy asked, "You are fighting the evil Yamigedo in the past?"
"Yes," Tasuku replied as the boy looked at him with admiration, somehow, "We cannot let him turn the future into this. We will do everything we can to prevent it. That's why we need to find Variable Cord."
"By the way. Are we getting closer?" Paruko asked Shido.
"We are close. I think it was near that skyscraper," he slowed down and frowned, "And we are going back to the surface. We have to be careful and avoid getting spotted."
The monsters took their SD form, including Jackknife.
When Jackknife was small, Tasuku grabbed him and held him against him, "Don't worry," his buddy said.
"That's adorable," the pink-haired girl chuckled.
The green dragon blushed a little shamefully, as he saw himself as the father figure of Tasuku. He was held like he was a child or a plush, "F-fine," he grumbled when the darkness dragon lightly chuckled.
The leader of the Purgatory Knight had a small smile was he put his hands on his mouth, to avoid disrespecting his rival.
They climbed the stairs and they returned to the surface. The group looked around and saw they were much closer to Yamigedo. The giant fiend was still at the same spot they last saw him and didn't move at all. There was something wrong with the Great Fiend and they didn't understand why.
"This is the skyscraper where I saw something golden going in," Shido pointed at it. It wasn't closer to Yamigedo at least. It was a little more on the side and it was one of the least damaged buildings.
The group looked at it and they began marching towards it. The two young siblings asked a few questions to Tasuku and his job as a Buddy Police Force. They were quiet to avoid any demons might be around and ready to attack them.
The dragons sniffed the air loudly while Gallows floating a little higher as he looked around with his purple eyes for anything suspicious.
They stopped when they were near the entrance and looked up. They didn't recognise the structure. It could have been a new one or they never noticed it, as they were many.
"It's here," the man pointed at it, "I'm not sure if that Omni Lord is still there or not," he scratched the back of his head a little nervously.
"Let's go and find a way to help Jack," Tasuku took the lead and they went inside.
They heard something and the group stopped. They turned around and saw a group of demons coming towards them.
"There's the meany!" one of the demons who escaped them earlier pointed at them. Ten demons were rushing towards them.
"D-dammit!" Tasuku grunted.
Sofia and Paruko took out a spell card.
Jackknife, Demios and Gallows took their true form.
The darkness skeleton dragon cracked his bones, "I've been waiting to beat some of them. I think the three of us against them will not be that hard," he chuckled.
Shido nodded, "Yeah. They grew weaker compared to when I was young," he casted a spell and blew a few things around the demons who yelped loudly and split up.
Demios sighed at the lack of formation, but was relieved they would be easy to destroy.
The dragons charged and it was turning into a carnage. Even a blind Jackknife had little trouble to handle the demons who were overwhelming them in numbers. The demons flew everywhere as they whined loudly and felt on the ground.
"Those meanies," one demon grunted as he stood up.
They charged again and the result was the same. The demons were comically destroyed and sent everywhere.
"And I was afraid of them," Shido sighed as he casted a spell to create a Darkness Dragon Shield and made a demon cry, "They became so weak."
It wasn't long before the demons were covered with bruises and one of them was crying on the ground.
Takosuke filmed the battle with his camera and after a few seconds, yelped, "Takuchu!"
"One demon is missing!" Paruko translated to the others.
Tasuku heard something and saw the humanoid lion monster appearing behind him, ready to grab him.
Sofia quickly pushed the boy out of the way and was grabbed by the demon.
The demon jumped away from the boy and chuckled, "Looks like I got something for di-" he grumbled and frowned as realised something, "You look a little familiar," he saw the dragons coming at him, "Run away! We got a hostage!"
The demons quickly ran away and the dragons couldn't chase them, as they were approaching Yamigedo. The monsters stopped the chase. They couldn't catch up the demons.
Shido sighed, "And they are sure good to run away," he kicked the group before yelling, "Those damn demons!" He put his hands on his face and grunted a few times. The kids joined him and tried to calm him down, while Gallows hit the ground loudly.
Tasuku grunted as he dropped his guard and let Sofia kidnapped. It was his fault she had to do something to save him. The demons were so weak that he forgot to carefully watch and to analyse everything.
Demios came to his side, while Jackknife tried his best to join him with his scent.
"We will save her Tasuku. I'll go and find her," the darkness dragon said. He turned around and took his SD form, "Don't worry. They won't notice me. If something happens, I'll come back and tell you about it. Trust me," he flew where the demons ran away.
The boy wanted to follow Demios, but Jackknife couldn't come with him in his current state. He turned towards his buddy who returned in his SD form. He grabbed his precious friend, "Let's go. Once we find Variable Cord, we can save Sofia."
Paruko hesitated and replied, "But we have to help her. You think we should-"
"Takoshu!" her buddy agreed.
Shido sighed loudly before he put his hand on the girl shoulder, "Sofia can handle herself."
"She died in your time," the pink-haired girl countered.
The man replied, "And if they know we are all coming towards them, they won't waste a second to use her as a shield and get us. I know her and she wouldn't let us get in danger to save her like that," he gazed down and replied, "If you don't find Variable Cord, then it's over anyway. She would just die much earlier for nothing."
Gallows came by the side of his buddy and added, "Demios is more capable than you think. When he can save her, he will. If he can't and she isn't in danger. He will come back. If she is in danger and it's to dangerous for him, he would do it anyway."
That didn't really calm them down.
Jackknife took the side of his buddy, "I don't like Demios, but I believe that he will do everything to help her if necessary. Sofia is doing a mission on order of Azi Dahaka, so he would save her even without us asking for it."
"Fine," Paruko gave in, but she wasn't into it. She gazed at Tasuku and saw that he wasn't either. She grumbled at herself. The boy wouldn't let someone in trouble like that. She should have known better.
They went in the skyscraper and they climbed the stairs. They searched each floor for the presence of the Omni Lord.
The journalist girl said, "Sorry Tasuku. I should have known you wanted to help her as much or more than me."
"It's okay," he let out a small smile and added, "I know you are a nice person," he hugged his buddy, "It's not easy to go on."
"Yeah. You didn't in the future and that's why you left with her," Shido said as he went by his side, "Not only that," he gazed at the children, "For them as well."
"Oh," the boy couldn't say anything else. Still, it was reassuring that he was a good person in the future if he tried to save someone. The sad part was that he didn't survive and probably his buddy too.
They continued to say a few things as they continued their search. All they saw were either nothing or the remaining of tables or chairs. That's what they were guessing. They were a few skeletons too and they quickly ignored those. Jackknife used his snout to tell them that Variable Cord wasn't on that floor.
They reached the last floor of the building. They were all panting with exhaustion.
"I hate those skyscrapers thing. Why did they do that uncle Shido?" the boy whined.
"Because they had something to use instead of stairs. But it's all gone," he replied.
Gallows sighed, "You could have asked me to give you a lift you know," he raised his bony hands and chuckled.
The children grumbled before pouting.
"Anyway," Jackknife got their attention back. He sniffed the air and declared, "I know that he is here somewhere. Show yourself Variable Cord!"
They heard footsteps and turned towards it.
A man came out of his hiding spot and clapped at them, "Congratulation. You found me Jackknife and Tasuku."
"Why is that lady having a deep voice?" the girl asked.
Variable Cord frowned as he heard that, but blushed it off. He ignored Gallows who was down and laughed loudly.
"Oh! Argh! My ribs!" the darkness dragon complained loudly.
"He is not a girl. He is the Omni Lord," Jackknife corrected her with a small smirk on his face.
Tasuku put his buddy on the ground and approached the Omni Lord. He could feel everything he had been holding off on his buddy kidnapper about to burst out. Still, he forced himself to not attack him. It would only be back for his buddy.
"Tasuku!" the green dragon told him, hoping he wouldn't be upset.
"I can see you are upset Tasuku," Variable Cord changed his attitude and was complaisant, "I know Jackknife is still greatly affected by the fault on his armor, but I can explain."
"Explain now!" he ordered.
"Sure. I wanted to bring Jackknife to Star Dragon World, but I knew how the star dragons would react. I don't want to deal with their verbal complains and harsh accusations on me for doing my duty as an Omni Lord. Star Dragons can get really annoying in certain issues. Anyway, I decided to bring him in the future and repair him. I was expecting more Star Dragons to show up, but the world is at that state," he pointed outside the window.
"Why didn't you just return to the present?" Paruko asked.
The humans and the dragon of the future had to remind themselves that it was their present they were talking about.
"It takes a lot of energy and a lot of time to use it. With Yamigedo devouring the world and that on Earth, this energy came out of the humans, I cannot use it that quickly. We have to hide and wait, but we ended up separated when we were attacked. I have been searching Jackknife for a while and avoiding the demons. If they knew I was the Omni Lord, the city would have been buzzling much more," he raised his finger when the blue-haired boy was about to reply, "And while doing that, I brought most of what I needed to finish the repairs on the faulty part off Jackknife body. I just need one last thing. It's not durable yet."
Jackknife was the one who asked, "Where can we find it?"
Variable Cord replied, "At the mall. They are some materials in the structure that I can use, combining it with my Omni Lord power, it won't be that hard to make it."
"Then let's go," Paruko said.
"Takuchu!" her buddy replied.
"Let us help you find it," Shido said as he looked at the Omni Lord, "If you can return to your present, you can stop all of this from happening," he thought of Sofia. She could be saved if they changed the past.
"After this, we need to save Sofia and find Demios," Tasuku said as he approached the Omni Lord, "We don't have time to lose."
"Fine. I thought it was everyone," he calmly replied.
"No. Demons captured her and who knows where they brought her," Paruko grunted.
"Then let's go," Tasuku didn't let the conversation continued. They lost enough time as they went down the stairs.
AC: This is the end of this episode.
I decided to keep making chapters once per three weeks as it is better for me and I can take a short break or use the extra time for my advantage.
