Unfortunately, Mystogan was wrong. It wasn't over. After it was revealed he was the banished Prince of Edolas, Erza Knightwalker shot Lily in the back with her sword, and an army of Legion flew up to attack.
Alex ignored Erik's warning and jumped off the Legion she was riding and let her wings form. She flew down and caught the large Exceed and flew back up to the Legion.
"What the heck were you thinking?" Erik growled when she landed. She made her wings disappear and sat down. "Erza didn't want you interfering at all."
"I couldn't just let Pantherlily here fall," Alex retorted, sitting down. She leaned forward to look over the exceed. "He's badly injured," She said, concerned. She ignored the commotion in the background and turned to the young girl they were riding with. "Coco! Do you have anything that can be used as a bandage for him?"
Coco shook her head. "I do know where we can get him some medical treatment."
Alex nodded and turned to the others. They had jumped on the Legion. "We'll take care of protecting the Exceeds while fighting off the army," Erza said. "Do you think you can handle using your wings to get this Exceed somewhere safe?" she asked.
Alex grinned and brought her wings back. "I think I know just where I can go." She stood up and grabbed the injured exceed. "Erik," she turned to the poison dragon slayer. "See if you can help the other Dragon Slayers. It'll be better if I only have one passenger." Erik nodded.
Natsu looked at her. "Be careful," He said frowning. "You're still pretty drained."
Alex smiled softly at him. "Don't worry. I'll be quick." She lifted Pantherlily and jumped off the Legion. She flew quickly in the direction she was sure the Edolas Fairy Tail was. "Just hang on, Pantherlily," She muttered. "We'll have you fixed up in no time.
With Edolas Fairy Tail
"Alright, everyone, listen up!" Edo-Lucy called out to her guild. "I met Gajeel on my way here. Things have moved pretty far along. The Kingdom is trying to sacrifice the Exceed, Earthland, and us, and make the entire world do as they please! We can't let them get away with that, can we?"
"But the Royal Army has a huge amount of magic power," Edo-Natsu protested. "Could we win if we fought them?"
"Who cares if they have more power?" Amber retorted. "The other world's Fairy Tail is out there fighting them. Shouldn't we help them?"
"That's a nice thought," Edo-Jet dismissed. "But without the power to back it up, we'd be in the way more than we'd be helping."
"Do we even stand a chance at winning against them?" Edo-Gray asked.
Edo-Lucy looked at the nervous crowd in front of her, uncertain. Amber sighed and climbed up beside her. "Are we not Fairy Tail?" She asked. Edo-Lucy looked at her, curious to see what she would say. "Well, out there, there are a bunch of Fairy Tail wizards who need help. We have the tools, and we have the power. So what's stopping us from using them to help? Fear?" She smirked. "I'm not afraid of the Royal Army. They should be afraid of us. Now I'm going to help those other world fairies. Am I going to have to fight them alone?"
Laxus stepped up. "If you're going, I'm going." He smirked. "Can't have my little sister showing me up like that." Amber rolled her eyes but smiled.
The rest of Fairy Tail began to agree when the door slammed open. Alex stood there, carrying the large, exceed Pantherlily. Her wings were gone, and she was exhausted. "I need some help," she said, looking at the members standing there, shocked.
Edo-Mira went into action. "I need bandages!" She called. The other members ran to get her what she needed to help the injured exceed. "Don't worry," She smiled at Alex. "I'll make sure you're friend is alright."
Alex settled down on a chair when Edo-Elfman came up with a glass of water. "You look like you could use this," He said, smiling.
Alex smiled at him. "Thank you." She took a drink. "You look so much like the Elfman I'm used to in my Fairy Tail," she said. "But you're a lot gentler." Edo-Elfman smiled and walked away.
Alex closed her eyes, tired. "I'm just going to rest here for a minute," she muttered.
Edo-Lucy walked up and sat down beside her. "We're moving the guildhall closer to the Capital to fight. Are you going to be able to help when we get there?"
Alex looked at her and nodded. "Sure. My magic should be refueled enough to help."
Edo-Lucy nodded. "I suppose I should thank you. You arrived like you did, carrying one of the army's captains like he was a child encouraged many members to help. I'm not sure I would have been able to convince them."
Alex snorted and shook her head. "You would have been able to convince them," She said. "They listen to you."
Lucy looked at her confused but shook her head. "Regardless, you made it a lot easier." She looked to where Edo-Mira was finishing up wrapping the exceed. "And he's a friend?" She asked, curious. When Alex nodded, she chuckled. "Today just keeps getting stranger."
Alex smiled and looked around at the Fairy Tail members, freezing when her eyes landed on Amber. The girl was doing everything she could to not look at Alex. "Who's that?" She asked, surprised.
Edo-Lucy looked to where she was pointing. "Oh, that's just Amber. She came to the guild about three years ago. Laxus took her in and has been a brother to her ever since." She looked back to Alex. "Why? Does she remind you of someone?"
Alex tilted her head curiously. "Yeah, my little sister back home. I haven't seen her in a while."
Edo-Lucy nodded. "At least you didn't act like your Natsu when he saw Lisanna. I had to kick him to get him away."
Alex laughed and was about to answer when she heard a groan. She jumped up and ran over to where Lily was lying. "Be careful. You're still pretty injured."
"Where am I?" Lily demanded. "Who are you?"
"My name is Alex, and you're in Fairy Tail," Alex said. "Can you stand up?"
Lily paused and checked his wounds. "I should be able to walk just fine." He looked at Edo-Mira. "Thank you for helping me."
Edo-Mira smiled cheerfully. "Of course. Just be careful. You're still wounded."
Edo-Lucy stood up. "Alright. Levy, everyone's up. Let's get the show on the road." Edo-Levy nodded and was about to use her transporter when the door opened again. A hooded figure was standing in the doorway. Fairy Tail was ready to attack when Alex stood in front of them. She grinned. "It's good to see you again, Mystogan."
"You know this guy?" Edo-Lucy asked.
Alex nodded. "He was a member of Fairy Tail back home. He's also your long lost Prince. Don't worry. He's on our side."
Mystogan 'Jellal' nodded. "I've come home to stop my father," he said. "I hope to be able to work with this world's Fairy Tail as closely as I did with the one on Earthland. For the moment, however, I was hoping to speak with Lily." He turned to face Pantherlily. "I'm glad you're alright, Lily," he said.
"How did you know where to find us?" Lily asked. "I wasn't even sure where I was being taken."
"I've worked with Alex a couple of times," Prince Jellal smiled. "I knew she would take you to Fairy Tail. Even if it's one, she's not used to being around."
"That still doesn't explain how you found us," Edo-Jet muttered.
Prince Jellal ignored the comment and looked at Lily solemnly. "I need your help. Do you think you can fly?"
Lily nodded and turned to Alex. "Thank you again for helping me. I'll have to leave you here. Will you be alright?"
Alex nodded and smiled. "I don't mind staying with Fairy Tail. You go ahead and help the Prince." She looked at the runaway Prince. "It was good to see you again. This will be the last time we talk, so I wanted to thank you for being one of my first friends in Fairy Tail. It was nice."
Jellal smiled. "I'm glad to have been your friend as well. Goodbye." Alex hugged him and waved to him as Prince Jellal and Lily took off.
"Alright, everyone," Edo-Lucy said, smiling. "Brace yourselves. We're taking the fight to the Capital."
Amber walked over to Alex, and they sat down. The transporter was about to activate when she looked at her. "You look so much like her," she said, annoyed. "You shouldn't look this much like my big sister.
"You're telling me," Alex said, raising her eyebrows at the sixteen-year-old beside her. "You're about the same age my little sister should be by now."
"What happened to her?" Amber asked, curious.
"Nothing happened to her," Alex crossed her arms. "I was taken from my home, and I never saw her again."
Amber nodded. "I'm sure she must miss you then. I know I miss my sister." Alex nodded.
The guildhall shook as the transporter activated, and the guildhall was taken to the Capital. Alex stood up when she heard cries of surprise outside. She grinned and ran to the door. She opened it to find a bunch of guards looking at the guildhall.
"Aww," Alex mock pouted. "Did you guys start the fight without me?" She shook her head. "And after I went through all the trouble of bringing back up."
Gray shook his head but smiled. "Not our fault you're so slow. You're gonna have to learn how to speed up."
Edolas Fairy Tail charged into battle and started taking out guards. With their help, they made quick work of the army. When the fighting was over, Lucy ran up and hugged Alex. "Alex! I'm glad you're alright. We were worried when you didn't come back right away."
Alex smiled. "Sorry, I got a little held up." She looked up when she felt the ground shaking. "The islands are starting to fall. We need to get out of the way."
The Edolas Fairy Tail wasn't listening, though. Some of them were beginning to panic. Alex rolled her eyes and looked at Amber, who was equally annoyed with her guildmates. "See if you can calm them down. There's someone I need to find in the palace."
Amber nodded and looked at her. "Don't worry. I'll handle them."
Alex nodded and started to run back to the palace. "Hang on a second," Gray said, annoyed. "Where are you going?"
"I have to talk to someone quick," Alex said. "Don't worry. I'll be fine." She ran off without giving the Ice Wizard a chance to respond.
Gray shook his head, annoyed. "She never tells us what she's doing."
Lucy smiled. "Would it be Alex if she started telling us now?"
The magic was being pulled from the ground, and Edolas Fairy Tail was panicking. "What are we going to do without magic?" Edo-Gray cried.
"Can we even be a wizard's guild anymore?" Edo-Natsu panicked.
Amber stepped up to the panicking wizards. "We'll be alright," she tried to assure them. "We don't need magic to be a guild."
"She's right," Lucy said, smiling. "You're a family, and whether you have magic or not isn't going to change that."
"Easy for you to say," Edo-Lucy retorted. "You have all the magic you want on Earthland."
"I came from a world that didn't have any magic," Amber retorted. Her words silenced some of the panicking wizards. "I was taken from my home and brought here. There was no magic where I lived, and my world turned out fine. We can survive in a world without magic. We'll be okay."
Edo-Lucy looked at the girl and smiled. Her panic diminished quite a bit. "Thank you, Amber." She turned to the others. "Let's go see what we can do to help the people of the Capital. I'm sure there's a lot of confusion about what's happening." Edolas Fairy Tail nodded, and they started to run to the Capital.
Lucy looked at Amber. "You came from a world without magic?" When Amber nodded, Lucy tilted her head. "Alex came from a world like that. Do you know her?"
Amber looked confused. "You mean she's not from Earthland?" Lucy shook her head. "So she really could be my sister? I thought she was just a doppelganger!"
Lucy smiled. "That's great! She'll be so happy to know you're okay if that's true."
Amber shook her head. "It won't matter in a little bit, will it?" At Lucy's confused look, she continued. "The magic is disappearing. That means you all will be going back to Earthland. I'll never actually see her again after this." She shook her head. "It's better if she doesn't know I could be her real sister. It may hurt her instead."
Lucy shook her head. "She'll be happy," She insisted. "She's been without her family for three years. She deserves to know at least one of them is safe and happy."
"You can't tell her!" Amber insisted. "I don't think I'll be going with you. I can't bear the thought that we might actually be siblings and be torn away from her again. So please, just let me live in denial."
Lucy sighed but nodded. "Fine. I won't tell her. But I'm telling you. She'll be thrilled to know you're out here and okay."
With Alex
Alex ran through town, ignoring the waves of magic coming from the ground and the citizens' panicked screams. Gotta find him. She ran into the castle and through the halls until she found the man she was looking for.
Standing on a balcony, watching the magic go up in the air, was Axel, the purple-haired Demon Hunter. "Have you come to kill me?" the man asked, suddenly tired. "I don't have a reason to fight you anymore now that our magic is going away."
Alex shook her head. "What was in that thing you shot me with?" She asked. She walked up and stood beside him. "I never considered there was a thing that could stop Demons like that did."
Axel looked at her incredulous. "You need help stopping Demons?" He asked. "I thought you were all-powerful. And how many are we talking?"
Alex shook her head. "Sometime in the future, a guild of Demons are going to cause Earthland some problems. Your formula could help us beat them."
Axel snorted and was about to respond when they spotted Natsu, Wendy, Gajeel, and Erik destroying the buildings around them. "What are your guildmates doing?" He asked.
Alex smiled. "What Fairy Tail does best, making a scene." She leaned over the railings. The two of them watched the Dragon Slayers destroy the town. "They don't know what's going to happen when we leave, so they want to make sure they trust their Prince to take care of business." She points to where Prince Jellal was now fighting Natsu. "They're making him a hero." She stood up. "That means we'll be leaving soon."
Axel thought for a minute and stood up. "I can't tell you what's in my serum since I came across it by accident." He tossed her a vial. "Here's one vial, though. Maybe it can help you."
Alex smiled and caught the vial. "Thank you. And I'm sorry for what my Demon half did to you. I never meant for it to go that far." Her body began to glow. "It looks like we're leaving now." She smiled as she started getting pulled up by the Anima. "Take care!" She waved as she began to disappear with her guildmates.
"Do you think they'll be okay?" Erza asked when she floated up next to her.
Alex nodded and smiled. "They'll be fine," She swore. "They're strong people."
"The Anima is taking us back to our world," Erza said thoughtfully. "Is there a chance it will take you back to your world?"
Alex froze. "I hadn't thought of that." She looked at Erza. "I could be going back to my home?" She asked, her tone almost hopeful.
"There's a chance," Erza said, her voice cautious. "The Anima is supposed to take magic back to where it belongs. So logically, it would take you home."
"Then this could be the last time I see you, isn't it?" Alex said.
Erza smiled. "Yes." She pulled Alex into a hug. "And if that's the case, we'll miss you very much. But I'm sure your family back home misses you too." Alex was silent as she hugged Erza.
"Hey, you two," Lucy said, swimming up to them.
"What are you talking about?" Gray asked as he and Natsu came up to them.
"Alex may end up using the Anima to go home," Erza said, pulling away from the hug.
"Well yeah," Natsu said, confused. "Aren't we all, though?"
"I think Erza means Alex could be going back to her homeworld, dummy," Gray said, annoyed.
Lucy gasped. "But that means we'll never see you again!" She cried, holding on to Alex. "You can't leave! I was just starting to get to know you!"
"The Anima brought me to Earthland," Alex said, helplessly. "It makes sense it would take me back home."
Gray pulled her into a hug. "Don't worry. Wherever you end up, you'll always be a part of Fairy Tail."
Natsu smiled and patted her on the back. "You'll just have to work on finding a way back to us."
Alex smiled and nodded. "I'll work on it," She promised. Team Natsu held on to her as they disappeared from Edolas.
Hey everyone! So this is the last part of Edolas. Next is the aftermath. I thought about it, and it made sense that the Anima could potentially just send Alex back to her homeworld since it's what took her from there in the first place. I'll get the next chapter out as soon as I can. Thank you so much for reading this story. I'll see you all again in the next chapter.
