Lessons In Love: Chapter Eighty-Six: Bangarang (Part 1)
The older Stephen watched his younger self arrive with the baby Tony. He was having a conversation with the younger Steve, then suddenly the atmosphere changed.
The little Tony looked angry, and the baby Stephen looked indifferent and troubled. Hmm.. Big Stephen told them they were late, but none of them responded.
His younger self actually kept walking. He spent the night at Tony's, and so he needed to go to his room. Baby Stephen needed to do three things. He ignored everyone and he kept on walking.
Baby Stephen ditched the group. He intended to talk to Victor first, shower, then wear those comfortable clothes.
Steve watched the younger Stephen leave. He noticed that Tony and Stephen "arrived" together, and he tried to not get himself bothered by it. He focused on Tony's shoes. They looked brand new. Steve almost said something about them, but he didn't see a smile on Tony's face.
The brunette wouldn't even look at him. Steve decided to just keep quiet, for the moment. The older Stephen held the exact opposite idea. He stepped over toward the younger Tony and he inspected his face.
"What's your problem?"
TCH. Tony wasn't gunna answer that OLDER JERK. He did look up at him tho. Tony glanced up at the mighty older Stephen. He was..
Tony thought that he looked very noble. He was polished and sharp. Tony swallowed hard, and he made a few unsure looks in his direction. He thought about Steve and Stephen, and it just made him angry.
Dr. Strange heard every passing thought that occurred in that busy mind. He listened to all of that noise, and his mind settled on one thought. He heard a little about what was happening with his younger self.
He figured out that his younger self encountered his very own version of the Ancient One. He even found his own way into the Dark Dimension. Big Stephen thought about how he had all the answers about their sister, but his younger self didn't want to go to him.
That made sense, but it didn't sit well with the older Stephen. He started thinking about how he was preparing to be a father. He didn't want his future son or daughter going somewhere else for guidance. He glanced at Steve Rogers, then he looked over at Tony Stark.
"I'm rethinking your training. You three aren't ready for anything that I had in mind, and that's ok."
The last part of big Stephen's sentence was a bit hard for him to spit out. His natural manner of behaving was strongly sarcastic. He originally wanted to tell them that they sucked, and they weren't a team at all.
He thought about his future child, and it shaped his words in a different way. It made him attempt to be a bit, gentler? It was an odd feeling for him.
Steve and Tony both focused on his words a little more. Him saying that it was "ok" made them open to hear more of whatever he had to say.
Victor Strange was speaking to his brother through a portal. They both knew that it was time to resume the training, and they had a plan about what Victor was going to do in New York.
He planned to take the 6 train to Belham Bay Park, then catch the 19 bus all the way up to the X-Mansion. Victor had a destination, and a community of people for him when his brother wasn't there.
He seemed ready for his adventure. Victor was excited to head out, and Stephen told him nothing about the horrible conversation that he had with their father.
His heart was breaking as they spoke. Stephen did his best to sound happy, but his positive words took effort. Victor closed the connection, and he headed off to meet someone named Charles Xavier.
The portal closed and Stephen started breaking down. The emotions that he had weren't disappearing fast enough. His body felt like it was being dragged down to the floor.
The sorcerer-in-training tried to keep it together. He remained in his room for what felt like an eternity. Stephen didn't make everyone wait for him on purpose.
He didn't even realize how long he was gone. He slowly showered and changed his clothes. His thoughts kept him in the room the longest, but he eventually emerged and joined the others.
Big Stephen watched him slowly walk up. That "trio" stood in three different spots. They were spread out and very disconnected.
The older Stephen said nothing to them. He just re-evaluated their training, and planned something else.
