Chapter 40
The next day in the 'god realm'
Bad woke, he stretched himself out and yawned aloud to the start of a new day, it doesn't help that Garou was moving about forcing him to wake up. 'Breakfast! Get your ass out of bed!'
Bad sighed. "I cannot wait for this to be over…" he muttered. He tried to get himself out of bed on his own, however, had trouble this morning. "Damn it,"
But then, he felt someone gently help him sit up! As he did, a table appeared loaded with food! "Whoa, breakfast in bed?" he asked. "Since when do I get to eat like this?"
"My king eats where he wants to…"
Bad jumped as he saw on his right side a shadow, one of the Orcs if he isn't mistaken. "Wait, how did you get in here? I thought…"
"Summoned my King, by your gracious host. I am to remain in his room and assist you when needed."
"Thanks for the help." He said as he looked at the table, but, before he could partake, Bad saw her.
A young woman in golden armor kneeling before him. "Hail King of the Shadows, even Death welcomes you with open arms."
He froze. "Wait, does everyone know!?" he demanded.
She giggled. "You truly are a funny demi… it's me, Elle!" she said.
Bad was stunned. "Wait, Elle? But you were… how did you…"
"Nectar of the gods has very powerful properties. When drunk by a demi or a god, it doesn't do much, it may offer a power boost to the demis but in all it just makes food and drinks taste all the better. But those who are below such a status, they are able to gain great power. For a fairy, we can become warriors if we wish to do so. I became a Valkyrie to defend my sisters!" she said proudly. She stood and revealed her massive black wings to Bad. She took out a silver sword and smile. "I wish to see any demi who would dare strike myself or my sisters now!"
"Wow… Elle, did you bring this to my room?"
"The others did, the chef insisted on a pre breakfast for you."
"Please tell him thanks." Bad was quick to eat, it settled Garou and the kid for a moment, but more is needed. With the orc's help, he was able to get out of bed. "I better go to the others then…"
He slowly made his way out of the room, he wondered into the dinning hall where the other demis were already eating. Brutus smirked as Bad walked in. "Sleep well in your little closet there?" he laughed.
"Like a log since I was away from your ugly ass mug." Bad snapped back.
Brutus sneered as he snapped to his feet. Yet as he did, Elle came before Bad, making Brutus freeze in place. "Fighting is prohibited here, you of all are aware of that. Guest can also be expelled!" she said in a warning tone. "Sit down…"
Her tone was not one any wished to mess with. Brutus sat down and shut up. Bad on the other hand took his seat and cleared his table.
'This stuff is getting better and better!' came Garou.
'I really don't want to know how you know that,' Bad thought.
When the meal finished, they decided to move everyone to the mixing room once more as they prepared lunch. Yet as they walked, Bad felt that there was a target on his back.
Brutus was staring at him oddly. "You know what, you haven't said a word about your accomplishments as a demi god…" he said aloud.
Bad sighed to it all. "I don't got any. Besides, all the important stuff I did BEFORE I became a demi god, so it wouldn't count"
"You are so full of shit, what could you have done before you became a demi god?" Deira asked.
Bad turned sharply. "You wanna know? Fine. I was a match for the son of the crimson plague, my blood made sure he didn't have to kill thousands in order for him to feed. I got turned into a half vampire for it just to be his immortal blood supply. Because of that, I got pulled into a vampire war over him and the Plague's power. Messed with his family who wanted to kill him for the sake of power, nearly killed, had to eat part of a dead person to keep myself alive as they were slowly starving me… well the guy wasn't really dead, he just couldn't die and I ate some of him. Anyway…"
"Oh…" one of the others whispered.
"Anyway, got pulled into a vampire war, someone tried to pawn me off as a body for the Shadow King, survived, got up into ANOTHER vampire war after the plague's family was defeated, then I became a demi god after starting a family… HAPPY?!"
No one spoke.
That was until Brutus shook his head to it all. "You're full of shit boy, you couldn't have possibly done all of that! I mean, the vampires would have had a feast with your fat ass!"
"I rather be a fat ass than a dumb ass" Bad snapped back and continued on. But then he felt a hand on his shoulder, he was forced around as Brutus took a swing at him!
KABOOM!
There was suddenly dust everywhere. No one could see until it settled.
Brutus went through a wall!
The other demis froze at the sight. Elle happened to come out and see what happened. Brutus was out cold as he continued to lie in the embedded marble. "I… I didn't hit him, I swear!"
Elle nodded. "Oh it's okay, I am more than aware of the divine protection on you. But apparently he wasn't."
"Divine protection?" whispered Deira
"Yes, divine protection. Anyone else want to take a swing at him?" she demanded.
They shook their heads.
"Good, now, go to the mixing room. I have been informed that the gods are going to be joining you soon. But for now, remain here as we prepare the next meal."
Bad said nothing as he went to the room, he found a rather large oval chair calling his name. He took a seat instantly, but the other demis began to whisper about him. One was brave enough to go over and say. "What… what divine protection is on you?" he asked.
Bad wanted to tell him, but remembering other people's reactions to the mention of a dragon, he felt it would be best to keep his mouth shut. "It doesn't matter does it?" he asked. "All you got to know is I have it."
The man paused however he merely nodded his head meekly as he backed off.
They began having their conversations a little closer to Bad. He was able to hear what was going on, what they yak about. "I heard a rumor, Death actually showed up" said Deira.
"No way!"
"I am serious Savanna!"
"How can he have shown up? He never comes to these especially since he is so embarrassed with his shadow Kings, he's gone through how many now? They all went nuts with power!"
"I know, but still, if he showed up something must have happened. Maybe he abolished it?"
'So, Death being here is a big deal. Which means if they found out you're the Shadow King…' came Garou.
'Yeah well, I ain't telling them I am' Bad thought back to him. 'Looks like too much work to keep up an appearance. Besides, how many would try and strike me if they knew I was and yet am not at my peek of power at the moment?'
'Damn, making you preggers makes you think things through!'
'Shut up!' Bad snapped back.
Brutus returned to the room, he cleared off the blood from his brow as well as his nose. He took one look at Bad and sneered at him. He now knows he can't lay a hand on him. "I do believe one needs to pay up!" came Elle.
The demis paused to her demand. "What?" they questioned.
"Don't think I wasn't aware of the bets you all made against one of our guests. Mr. Brutus was taking wagers as to when he would strike our new demi here, you all partook in it did you not?" she asked.
"Wait, you assholes bet as to when he was going to attack me!" Bad demanded.
They couldn't answer him. But he felt used. "Which is why I am remedying this now…" she snapped her fingers, their item boxes opened and she took out a lot of bottles of the nectar of the gods they stashed. "I am more than aware that you demis like to hoard your drinks, after all you get six bottles for coming to these banquets. However, due to your little bet… I am taking all the bottles you had put up for the wager…"
"What?!" they demanded.
"And I am giving them to him." She said and directed her look at Bad. "After all, he would have been the one to suffer for this poor excuse of a bet. So…" she pointed to Bad, his item box opened and was flooded with the bottles of nectar. She closed it up shortly after but there was enough in there to last a few years to say the least!
"Whoa, thanks Elle!"
She smiled and bowed. "Think nothing of it,"
Bad smirked as he noticed the demi gods were now getting nervous. The staff appears to have changed up and were offering drinks and snacks. However they appeared more like fighters than anything. The fairies who drank the nectar have become warriors. Those who were sweeping before have turning into stronger creatures than what they were.
However, when they came to Bad. He was given instant respect. "Drink young master?"
"How about a snack?" they appeared to dot over him.
Bad smiled as he took a drink, but it was taken away. "I'm sorry that isn't the kind you should have. Please wait a moment," she said gently.
"I shall, thank you,"
The other demi gods glared at him as he was waited on hand and foot! None of them have been give such a treatment, yet Bad. It was easily given. He never demanded it, nor yelled if he didn't get what he wanted. If he was told no, he accepted and never pestered about it. However thus far he hasn't never been told no. He has had one drink taken away due to the alcohol in it. "This is nice…" he said aloud. "But I do miss Zenko, Botan and the others…"
'I rather be here than to know you were starving yourself.' Said Garou. 'Seriously, you worried me…'
Bad smiled as he rubbed his stomach. 'Sorry I did, I just wanted to be sure you and the kids had enough. I could survive with little…'

The gods smirked, Gaia however laughed aloud as Brutus went through one of the marble walls. She wasn't the least upset to it either, in fact. She appeared thrilled! "It's about time someone knocked him down a peg!" she said.
Death giggled as well. "Oh indeed, it's very well done. Although I think Bad wanted to put him through the wall himself. Not the divine protection."
Gaia nodded, but paused as she looked about. Someone was missing in the room. "Neptune?" she asked.
"Huh? Strange, he has been gone for some time hasn't he?"
"Indeed, he came to me just yesterday stating he wishes to help feed your demi, but wanted a closer inspection of him."
"Oh? This is news to me."
Gaia nodded. "I think he was impressed to how he handles himself, as well, as to how he speaks with my legions."
Death nodded as he turned to the crystal. "Speak of the god…" he said and snickered.
The demis were just having lunch, and a new face walked into the room…
#
Bad just had his first course when he saw Elle with a new person. He was a young, strappy kid, reminded Bad of himself. He had short blond hair and sparkling blue eyes but appeared rather shy. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a late arrival, but we do not have time to set up another table for him. Is there anyone here willing to share?" she asked.
There were scowls and looks of ignorance on the faces of the other demis, Bad however put his hand up. "Over here Elle, I'll share!"
The others began to snicker. "New guy is gonna starve!"
Elle made a chair appear out of nowhere, the new guy sat next to Bad but was a bit aw struck. "Now, before we get any farther, no I am not a demi to Pig God. I swear to God on that."
The new guy snickered. "You are definite about that huh? Name is Remus!" he said and out his hand out.
Bad shook it. "Bad, back where I'm from I got by the hero name Metal Bat, weapon of choice. So, a little late to the party huh?"
Remus nodded. "Indeed, I thought the demis would have been a little more… open to helping out a fellow demi god."
"Yeah, well they should be a lot of things." Bad muttered. "Oh, you may hear a rumor that I put that guy through a wall." Bad said as he pointed to Brutus. "Truth is, I WANTED to, but I didn't get the chance to do it, someone did it for me." And smirked.
Remus giggled as well. He jumped a little as the table caught on fire, it filled once more with the food Bad had before. He took one of the empty plates and gave it to Remus. "Take whatever you want man, I'll eat the rest. But please hurry. I'm hungry"
He nodded and was quick to make a trip around the table. He filled his plate and then gave Bad the thumbs up. Remus watched closely as everything turned to mist and then, slurped up into Bad's mouth. He was quick to swallow and then savor the meal. "Oh man, these guys just keep upping their game!"
Remus ate quietly yet he kept looking at Bad oddly. "How do you know what it tastes like? I mean, it turned to mist and you just ate the mist of the food right?"
Bad smirked as he then peered at Remus's plate. He pointed out to various things he picked to eat for himself. Without hesitation Bad named off the food, texture, flavor and undertones each piece had. Needless to say it impressed the new guy. "Whoa… it really does… so you really do eat everything and taste it huh?"
"I better, I wouldn't be raving about the food if I couldn't!"
The new guy smiled as he continued to eat. "There's a lack of seafood options huh?"
Bad nodded. "I wouldn't mind a good sea food meal, but right now, I am grateful for whatever is given to me. It really has helped me out a lot."
'Who the hell are you talking to?' Garou asked.
'New demi god, seems like a nice guy' Bad thought back.
'Tch, you don't make friends here, they will stab you in the back sooner than later!'
'Guard is up, no worries. I am merely sharing my food'
"Bad?"
He snapped out of his blank stare. "Sorry…"
"You looked like you were having a conversation in your head!"
Bad snickered and laughed off the comment. "Sometimes I space out… I ain't all there ya know. A dumb kid like me…" he said but then remembered. 'wait a moment, I ain't a teenager no more… but still look like one…'
Remus snickered aloud to Bad's words. "You are rather unusual aren't you… so… mind telling me whose power you come from?"
Bad forced a smile. "I rather not," he said. "Not that I am ashamed or anything. But… I got a feeling, if people knew… they would respect me for all the wrong reasons. I rather let them keep guessing before revealing myself… Ooo, I think I overate again… Damn it" he muttered.
Slowly, Bad stood up from his chair, Elle was quick to get to his side to help him. "Elle, if Remus is still hungry, please have the chefs cater to his needs. Use my table too."
She nodded. "As you wish, now this way…" She was quick to get him back to the room to rest. Bad couldn't understand why he was overeating, but perhaps his body has yet to adjust to everything.
The shadow orc reappeared to help him to bed, before he passed out, Bad asked. "Hey… is everything okay back home?"
The orc smiled. "You would be very proud of your son, my King. He is dealing with Metal Knight, and quite frankly, he is doing a great job."
"Huh? What do you mean…" Bad suddenly felt too tired to keep his eyes open. "Damn… bed must be… enchanted…" he muttered before drifting off to sleep.
