Hey guys, Liz here. Before we begin, we have a new cover for the story! This awesome piece was done by morphersnivy on Instagram. I thought it'd be cool to have our main three kids front and center since we're moving forward with them more. I really like how it came out and you should totally check the artist who did this. (They rock!)

Anyway, the day of the Androids' arrival has come and it's time to get to work. Will the Z-fighters be able to handle what these mechanical menaces? Find out, now!

The Son Squad Ch.34

The next day, it was time to go. Breakfast was too quick it seemed and Chi-Chi debated locking the door in an attempt to keep her children and husband from leaving, even though she knew that that would be futile. By the time they were done eating, Piccolo was there to head out with them to the meeting spot where the androids would be.

Everyone was ready to go. Chiyo and Gohan were sporting their purple gis while Chinku was wearing an orange and blue one similar to her Dad's minus the wristbands. They were dressed for battle, whatever that may be.

"You all please be careful," Chi-Chi nearly begged of her husband and children. In her arms, little Chibiko was looking at them all curiously as they were preparing to leave while Daichi stood at his Mother's side clenching onto her shirt as he looked at the others. "Are you sure you don't want the lunches I packed? Y-You might get hungry."

"We're all good, Mom, really," Gohan tried to assure his mother. He knew very well how nervous she was about the whole thing, but he wanted to try and calm her fears a little bit. To be honest, Gohan thought if he ate something else before the Androids showed up, he would throw up or something.

"We'll be back before you know it," Chiyo stated, also trying to reassure her mother. Now she only hoped that when they came back, everyone would be coming back home.

"We're gonna show those Androids what for!" Chinku proudly declared, not really sensing the uneasiness that her mother was giving off.

Goku smirked a bit and then went over to give Chi-Chi one last brief hug. "I'll make sure the kids are safe," He whispered into her ear.

"And you be safe too," She whispered back, trying her best not to cry.

Before leaving though, Goku bent down so that he was at eye-level with Daichi. "Okay, little man, while your brother, sisters, and I go take care of business, I need you to keep your mom and baby sister safe," Goku instructed Daichi. "Think you can do that until we get back?"

Daichi nodded with a smile on his face and gave his Dad a salute with his wrong hand. "Uh-huh!" He replied. "Can do!"

Goku chuckled and ruffled the boy's hair before heading back over to the others. In a flash, all five warriors were off in the skies and out of sight from the Son residence.

Please, Chi-Chi thought to herself. All of you come home safely.

In the air, the three kids flew slightly ahead of Piccolo and Goku. As they were flying, Chinku thought they could play a bit of a game to lighten the mood. She smirked as she started to increase her speed to catch up with Gohan and tried to do it in a way where he wouldn't notice her coming up on his side. Chiyo took notice of this though and couldn't help but crack a small smile when she saw what her sister was doing.

Gohan, meanwhile, was staying laser-focused on going ahead to the location. The last thing that seemed to be on his mind was racing with his little sister. It was only when he noticed Chinku was coming up on his left side that he realized something was up. He looked over his shoulder at her but Chinku tried whistling and looking away in an attempt to throw Gohan off her tracks about her plans. (She had no idea how to whistle so it was obvious to Gohan that something was up).

Deciding to get in on the fun, Chiyo decided to catch up with the two and pulled up a bit on Gohan's right side while he was trying to figure out what his younger sister was up to. He didn't even notice Chiyo had caught up with him until she coming up on his right side. She smiled at Gohan and he relaxed a bit when it clicked that his sisters were just trying to race him. The whole android situation was making him tense.

"Hey, guys!" Goku called from behind. "I know you three are just playing around, but try not to waste your energy too much just getting there, okay?"

"Okay," all three replied and slowed it down just a little bit.

It didn't take long for them to meet up with Krillin on the way who remarked how the three kids had grown a lot in the past three years. On this little flight, Krillin also voiced his concerns about the androids making him feel a bit nervous, especially because he wasn't relying on any alien strength like the others were.

Soon, the group of now six made it to the island. They all floated above it and took note of how big and densely populated it was. Seemed like a good place for the androids to gain their attention. The thought that these people didn't know what would be coming soon made the Z-fighters a bit on edge. None of the regular people below knew that their lives could be in imminent danger.

As they scanned the area, Krillin took note of two power levels not too far away. "I'm picking up two more strong power levels over that way," Krillin spoke up, looking over at a mountain not too far away. "I'm guessing that's Tien and Yamcha." They all made it over where the two powers were and sure enough, Tien and Yamcha were waiting for them. However, they were more concerned and surprised to find that Bulma was with them. Not only that but she was holding a small baby boy in her arms!

"Oh my gosh, are those the twins and Chinku?" Bulma beamed upon seeing the three children, adjusting the little baby boy in her arms. "Wow! You three have gotten so big! I hardly recognize you anymore."

"Not to be rude or anything, Bulma, but what are you doing here?" Goku questioned his long-time friend. He couldn't understand why she would want to come. The last time she spoke about the whole thing she said he and the others were crazy for wanting to fight the androids instead of stopping them from being made. What changed in three years?

"Don't worry, Goku. I'm just observing," Bulma explained as the little baby buried his face in Bulma's shirt. "Once we get a quick peek of them we'll be on our way."

"To be honest, Bulma, I think we're all more curious about the cute little baby in your arms than you being here," Krillin stated. He was definitely weirded out a bit by seeing Bulma holding a baby and how it meant that she was his mother.

"That means you and Bulma got married, right, Yamcha?" Chiyo asked the scarred-up warrior.

"Congratulations," Gohan congratulated Yamcha.

"The kid's not mine," Yamcha revealed to the others, crossing his arms and looking away, surprising Krillin and the kids. "Bulma and I broke it up a while ago. Ask her who the proud papa is; you won't believe it."

Goku chuckled a bit and walked over to Bulma and the baby, saying with a smile on his face, "The proud papa is Vegeta, right Trunks?"

"Wait, how did you know that? I didn't tell anybody," Bulma stated, giving Goku a confused look while Krillin, Gohan and Chiyo were mentally trying to process what they had just heard.

"Oh, uh, it's just the look the kid gave me is all!" Goku quickly tried to shrug it off. "I mean, that nose, you know? It was kind of obvious!"

"Okay, but how'd you guess his name, though?" Bulma further pressed the issue.

"...I'm psychic?" Goku tried to joke.

"Wait wait wait," Krillin jumped into this whole mess. "You're telling me that Vegeta is that kid's Daddy?!" This was ridiculous! Krillin knew Bulma was capable of doing something so rash, but of all the people she could've gotten with, it had to be Vegeta?! (On top of that, he still didn't have his own girlfriend and the guy who almost destroyed Earth got one before him? Unfair!)

"Vegeta's that spiky haired guy, right?" Chinku asked Piccolo, trying to see if she was thinking of the right person.

"Yeah. The one you back-talked when Frieza showed up," Piccolo reminded the kid.

"Oh, that guy. Now I remember him."

"Where is Vegeta anyway? Out buying formula?" Piccolo remarked.

"I don't know. I don't keep tags on the man," Bulma stated. "It's not like we're together or anything. Though I doubt he'd miss out on this day. He's been training hard for it."

"Trust me; he'll be here," Goku assured everyone. No way would his biggest rival missing out on this battle.

After getting over the fact that Vegeta was now a father, the Z-fighters waited for the Androids to show up. Time ticked by slowly and each passing minute made Piccolo and Tien a bit antsy. It was supposed to be a thirty-minute wait, but the time seemed to drag on forever. While Piccolo and Tien stood to watch- and Yamcha seemed to silently sulk about his and Bulma's relationship- the others decided to make some funny faces for little Trunks to pass the time. He laughed at the twins switching back and forth between each other to "tag-team" expressions to the little guy. He seemed to enjoy the whole thing and laughed a bit more when Chinku was added to the mix. Having a little brother and sister at home made them experts in the funny face department. However, no one could beat Krillin and his casual face being the one to make Trunks laugh the most. (Needless to say, the game was over pretty quickly after that since there was no way the others could top Krillin's performance).

Before long, Yajirobe showed up to briefly hand Goku a bag full of senzu beans from Korin. A bag of those was sure to come in handy. Just as Yajirobe left, Tien remarked how the androids were late. "It's ten o'clock right on the dot and I'm not picking up a single bit of energy from the androids," He stated. "It's almost too quiet."

"It is a bit weird we haven't felt anything at all," Gohan added in. Shouldn't they have felt even a little bit of power?

"I'm getting the feeling someone was pulling a joke on us," Yamcha skeptically stated. A part of him was actually a bit relieved at the idea that they wouldn't have to fight some super-powerful robots.

"Now hold on," Bulma spoke up, looking at her watch. "Those two from the future didn't say they'd be here right on the dot. Give it some time. It's way too early to get optimistic."

"Come on, Bulma, if these guys were half as powerful as those two said they were, then we would've sensed them by now," Yamcha rebutted. "No way could power like that just hide."

Suddenly, from out of nowhere, the hovercar that Yajirobe was in suddenly exploded out of nowhere and plunged into the sea surrounding the island, sending waves of shock through everyone. As they all tried to figure out what happened, Piccolo suddenly shouted, "Look up in the sky! He was attacked!"

Everyone turned towards the sky where the hovercraft once was and gasped when they spotted two figures floating there. They were so far away that it was impossible to make out any distinguishing features of the two attackers. In fact, right when everyone was catching sight of them, they rushed down towards the city and disappeared among the buildings and structures. "Where did they go?!" Tien shouted as everyone frantically looked around. How could they just disappear like that?

"Dang it!" Goku gritted through his teeth. "None of us were able to get a good look at those two. And come to think of it, I didn't feel any energy coming from them either." With the power these two androids had, shouldn't they have been able to sense them right after they attacked Yajirobe? How could they disappear like that?

That's when Gohan pieced it together; "Wait, the androids are like machines, right?"

"So then, maybe that means we can't sense them!" Chiyo finished his thoughts.

Hearing that notion said aloud was enough to send shivers down everyone's spines. If they couldn't sense these guys, then how were they going to find them? The androids could look like regular people and the Z-fighters wouldn't know what was going on until it was too late. This was like the worst-case scenario and then some.

"If they're under our radar, the only way we'll be able to find them is by hunting them down the old fashion way," Piccolo reasoned, trying to keep a level head even with this new frightening information.

"Everyone, pick a street and start looking. If you find them, don't fight alone; call for backpack-up," Goku instructed before tossing the senzu beans for Bulma to hold onto. "Hold onto those. We'll need them for later. And Gohan, I need you to go check on Yajirobe. I think he bailed out."

"Got it, Dad," Gohan nodded.

With everything settled out, the Z-fighters all split up from one another and go off to look for the androids.

Landing somewhere towards the west side of the city, Chiyo looked around at all the people going up against their daily lives like nothing was wrong. She wanted to shout at all of them that a pair of psychotic androids were there looking to kill them, but who would believe her? Heck, if it had been three years ago, she wouldn't believe it either.

"Okay, if I were an android, what would I look like?" Chiyo muttered to herself as she looked to see if anyone suspicious caught her eye. No one was really setting off any radars yet, but she still kept on her toes. "How are we supposed to find them when we don't even know what they look like?"

There had to be a way to find these guys.

Meanwhile, on the more northern side of the city, Chinku was running back and forth between people trying to figure out who was normal and who was an android. The 6-year old girl scratched her head as she kept zig-zagging through the streets and jumping over cars in an attempt to find these robotic menaces. "Where are they?" She said to herself as people stared and murmured to themselves on the little girl's odd behavior.

As Chinku was trying to figure the whole thing out, an explosion within the city rocked the area and sent everyone scrambling away due to how close they were to it. Seeing this confirmed to Chinku and the other Z-fighters that the only ones responsible for it had to be the androids. Being close to the scene, Chinku quickly rushed over to the explosion's origin and was the first one to arrive, skidding to a halt as she arrived.

When she got there, Chinku was shocked to find Yamcha being held up by this old-looking guy while a weird fat-looking guy stood by and watched the whole thing. Both had two red R's on that clued her in that these guys had to be the androids. Both fellas looked over towards her just as she showed up and weird beeping noises came from them as they stared at her. "Analysis complete," the fat one said coldly. "97% identity match. Son Chinku, second daughter of Goku."

Chinku gasped when she heard this. The coldness in the android's voice was enough to send shivers down her spine. A part of her almost bolted right then and there, but her feet were planted firmly in the ground. She couldn't run now, not when she could do something to help Yamcha. "You put him down right now!" She shouted at the two androids as she got into a lowered fighting stance. "Or else you're gonna be sorry!"

Instead of complying with her demands though, the android holding Yamcha just smirked at the girl. Then, without warning, he punctured a hole right through Yamcha's chest with his free arm like it was nothing! The sight of the whole thing made Chinku want to throw up. She to suppress the urge to vomit right there. This was her first time ever experiencing something so grotesque and violent. Training with the others was nothing like this. Time slowed as she saw the light draining from Yamcha's eyes. How could they do that to him with such ease?

As the android drew his arm out from Yamcha's chest, blood-spattered all over the sidewalk, and Yamcha's arms fell limp to his side as his power started to fall like a sinking stone. Seeing that somehow activated something in Chinku because she charged straight for the android holding Yamcha only for the big one to come in and block her way. However, Chinku didn't relent on her charge and kicked him hard enough to send him skidding back several feet, slightly raising an eyebrow from the older looking android. The fat one had used his arms to protect itslef and only suffered a shoe imprint on his arms.

"Not bad," The older android muttered to himself.

"Why you!" Chinku growled at him. She went in for another attack but the android that had blocked her before went to block her once more. He stood right in front of the other android and dodged Chinku's quick punches for a little bit before he went to grab her who was unaware that he was planning on taking her energy for himself. However, before he could do that, someone else rushed in grabbed her just as he was going in for the kill. Chinku gasped when she realized it was her Father who had gotten to her and was holding her in his arms. "Daddy!"

"That was reckless, Chinku," Goku told his daughter as he put her down. You could tell he was trying to keep himself from getting angry just by his tone of voice. "I told you not to fight these things alone." It was only then that she noticed the serious look in his eyes and hit gritted teeth. She had never seen her father look so upset before. There was instant guilt that settled in for her when she realized she screwed up.

More back-up soon arrived on the scene, with it being Tien and Chiyo, followed lastly by Piccolo and Krillin. All of them gasped at the sight of seeing Yamcha so lifeless and being dangled in the air. His dangerously low power wasn't helping things either.

Without saying a word, the android that had attacked Yamcha threw him to the ground like he was garbage.

Seeing the direness of the situation and how Chinku easily went in to attack the androids, Goku made a quick call; "Krillin, you and Chinku take Yamcha back up to where Bulma is," He instructed the two. "I gave her the senzu beans. Yamcha's still alive so hurry and get him back up there." No way did Goku want Chinku to continue fighting if she was going to be rash like that. He wanted her to get out of there right away.

"Got it, Goku," Krillin nodded and went over to get Yamcha. Seeing his friend like this brought Krillin back to the day Nappa and Vegeta showed up and Yamcha died right in front of him. No way could Krillin go through that again.

Even though she was a bit stunned and wanted to stay to help, Chinku knew now was not the time to push her Father's buttons. It was probably best to retreat for now. She simply nodded and went to help Krillin carry Yamcha back to where Bulma was.

Once they were gone, it was just Goku, Tien, Piccolo, and Chiyo left to face off against the two androids. The fire from the explosion continued to burn as the two sides glared each other down with no genuine feelings coming from the androids. Everything their eyes conveyed was cold and calculating, exactly what you'd expect from machines.

"I'll be honest, if these are the androids, I expected more from the killing machines we were told about," Piccolo stated.

"How odd," the old looking android stated, his eyes slightly widening in surprise. "You were able to identify us as androids before we ever explained ourselves." He began to sweep his view out over the four warriors. "Once more, it seems you were all gathered here in anticipation of us. Tell me, who told you of our plans?"

"You want answers?" Piccolo growled. "Then asks with your fists!"

"Very well," the old android said.

All four of the Z-fighters quickly got into stances and prepared for the fight that was to come. To be honest, Chiyo felt a little honored to be standing there with her father, teacher, and one of her Father's former rivals ready to fight these monsters. She may have not been on equal footing with them- at least in her opinion- but the fact that Goku did not send her away as he had with Chinku must've meant that he had some confidence in her skills.

As if to add to the drama of it all, the explosion behind them let off a secondary blast that honestly probably made all four of the fighters look intimidating and cool. (It's a really cool shot). When it died down, the two androids looked ready to advance when Goku suggested taking the fight outside the city so more people wouldn't get hurt.

"A problem of too many people can be easily corrected without the need to move," The old-looking android said. In the blink of an eye, his eyes began to glow red and before anyone could stop him, he fired off laser beams from his eyes and into the fiery inferno behind as well as the remaining area at warp speed, bringing about more destruction and chaos in no time flat. Had Chiyo not ducked when she did, one of the beams would've gone straight through her head for sure.

Before complete damage could be done, Goku rushed in and punched the android directly in the face, causing the cap atop his head to fall off and reveal a brain beneath glass right there. It was a grotesque yet fascinating thing to see. The android stopped firing, but it was too late to reverse what he had done. If you looked at the city, it looked like something out of a nightmare. The fire raged everywhere and people screamed and shouted from either panic or pain. It was hard to distinguish which was which at this point, but it hardly mattered. The scene was so bad that even the Z-fighters from atop the mountain could see the devastation from an upper view that made it seem even worse.

"YOU! Follow me so I can turn you to shrapnel!" Goku growled at the two androids. How dare these things just throw away human lives like that. This must've been what future Trunks and Chinku meant with their future being so awful. The callous disregard for life was sickening to Goku.

"Your victory will not be the outcome," The fat android spoke robotically.

"You wanna bet?!" Chiyo shouted, enraged just as much as her Father at the nature of these machines.

"Very well," the old android spoke. "Choose the place of your demise, Goku."

Hearing the android call Goku by his name sent a shock through everyone else. This thing knew who he was? What else did he know?

Ask and you shall receive; "We know more than you think. For instance, we know that the green one over there is Piccolo, and the one with three eyes is Tien, and the girl right there is Chiyo."

Okay, this was just crazy. However, the time for questions would have to wait. For now, the only goal was to get the androids away from the city and keep them from doing any more harm they already had. Goku soon led the way away from the city with the androids following behind him and Chiyo, Tien, and Piccolo right on their tails. As they were leaving the city, Chiyo looked down at the ruined landscape below and felt her stomach twist in knots. If they can do this to a city in a manner of seconds, I don't want to think about what they'll be like in a , I hope you know what you're doing, Chiyo thought to herself.

Meanwhile, on the mountain, the remain Z-fighters watched as the four left the city with the androids knowing that the four had no idea about the android's ability to steal energy. Things were starting to spiral out of control here.

The city may be destroyed, but the battle is only just beginning. What will our heroes face here? Will the Son kids change the game a bit more? Find out next time on the Son Squad!
