Let Sleeping Teens Lie
"Minnie," Hellboy asked, poking his head into the library one evening. "Ya in here?"
There was no answer, and the half-demon was about to leave and continue his search when he heard a small noise from one of the couches. He walked into the room, following his ears until he found the missing teenager.
Xavier was asleep on one of the couches, the book he had been reading laying on the ground next to him. His mouth was slightly ajar as he slept, and his arm was at a weird angle behind his head. He did not snore, but his nose made a slight wheezing noise as he breathed in and out.
The agent smiled a little, the first thought coming to mind that he should mess with him in some way or another. While the teen had sworn off pranking after the infamous Clown Incident, Hellboy was still a little sore after sending his ruined coat to a cleaners. An idea forming in his mind, and he was prepared to tip over the couch when he noticed the book he had been reading. Blinking with surprise, he picked the book off the ground, slowly flipping through the pages.
It was an old photo album, and one that was not kept in the library. The half-demon agent smiled a little as he looked at old pictures of himself as a child, growing up on a military base in New Mexico. There were pictures of him wearing an oversized pair of fatigues, a picture of him hugging his dad, and one of him asleep in an armchair, back before he started filing down his horns. There was only one person that could have given Xavier this photo album, and Hellboy looked back at the teen, all thoughts of messing with him gone.
"Hope my history wasn't too borin' for ya," the half-demon said, setting the album on a nearby table and gently shaking the teen's shoulder. "C'mon, Minnie, ya can't sleep here." The boy turned his back to him, muttering something nonsensical in his sleep. Sighing, the agent frowned at little. "Ya better not expect me to carry ya." Xavier said nothing in response, still fast asleep.
"Great," Hellboy muttered, rubbing a hand over his face. Sighing again, he carefully picked up the teen, trying not to rest his head on his stone hand. Xavier still did not wake, yawning briefly before settling into the agent's arms. "You're a pain in the ass, ya know that?"
"Zzz…"
Snickering a little, the half-demon carried him to his room, no longer wanting to get even with him.
