Summary/Prompt used: Post-Twilight/New Moon AU - Jake/Bella/Paul MMF tragic romance; I do my own beta'g and banner making, so any errors or lame banners are all mine. I do not own Twilight or any of the characters, nor do I make any money from writing this story. Twilight belongs to Stephanie Meyer; I'm just playing in her sandbox. This is not an overly lemony fic, but there are a few scenes. Please do not read if you are under 16. Thanks!

Chapter 4 – 50/50 Split

Disclaimer: Twilight and all its characters belong to Stephanie Meyer. This is a work of fiction based on her world and characters. I don't own any of it, except my plot bunny. This isn't an overly lemony fanfic, but there are some adult scenes. Please don't read this story unless you are old enough; 18+ would be best. I hope you enjoy this short story!

Bella sighed as she distractedly stirred another spoonful of honey into the herbal tea Emily had made and set in front of her when Bella had arrived at the small cedar cottage. She was beginning to feel like a child being shared between divorced parents. Sam & Emily's house was "neutral territory", so Jake would drop her off there when his scheduled time with her was over and Paul would pick her up. She sighed again. She knew this wasn't working, but she didn't know how to fix it.

Emily sat across from her drinking her own tea and flipping through a wedding magazine that Kim had left on the table the day before. She quietly asked Bella how things were going and wasn't surprised when Bella burst into tears.

Sam walked into his kitchen, and considered walking back out again when he saw his mate consoling a sobbing Bella. Emily shot him a death glare though, so he walked to the back door instead and yelled for Jacob and Paul. He knew they both lurked back there when Bella was over.

Sometimes one of them would come inside and spend some time with her, but never both of them at the same time. He was done trying to talk sense into them. He was going to make them face this like the adults they were supposed to be, and that is how Bella, Jake, and Paul found themselves on lockdown in Harry Clearwater's old fishing cabin by the lake exactly one week later.
