A/N: Hi all! It's been a while. Please enjoy this chapter. I have (3) written out and ready to be posted, one bye one. As soon as I get (50) views on this chapter.
On their travels to Arkadia, Lexa points out all the animals, trees, and flowers. Madi is amazed by all the knowledge. Clarke rides beside Aden and Octavia.
"Madi is special." Aden said.
"You are too." Clarke said back.
"Isn't it hard to cherish them both?" Octavia asked.
"There's a huge age gap between them. At first, it has been hard to balance. Honestly, Madi is closer to Lexa than me. Aden has been closer to me than Madi." Clarke explained.
"When I first got to Polis, Leksa favorited me. I was the youngest at the time. The other natblida's were jealous that then." Aden mentioned.
"So when Madi gets older, you both going to adopt another little one?" Octavia asked Clarke.
"I don't know. Two is enough. One boy and One girl." Clarke replied.
"I take it back. Madi has a little bit of both of you in her. And still, neither one of you gave birth to her! She just adapted around you two!" Octavia said, shaking her head.
"I see it too; in the short amount of time, she's been at Polis. Madi bends all the sentries at her will by her little finger. They follow suit." Aden said, chuckling a little bit.
"That's because Leksa lets her doing anything she wants. One of these days, Leksa is going to have to put her foot down and say no. Madi isn't going to like that." Clarke explained, watching the scenery around her.
"Lexa saying no to Madi? That's impossible. Madi has Lexa wrapped around her little finger too. These past couple days, I see more of a younger version of Lexa than you, Clarke." Octavia said, looking over at Aden whose looking at the scenery too.
"Looks to be that way. Then you have bigger problems." Clarke mentioned lightly, laughing.
They continue their journey to Arkadia. The sun is setting, but both Clarke and Lexa know their close.
"Should we stop and make camp?" Lexa quietly asked Clarke, holding the sleeping Madi to her.
"It's another ten minutes at least. Let's make it to Arkadia, and we can all rest. We'll have the children in my quarters for the night. Lincoln and Octavia need to rest too." Clarke explained, seeing Aden nodding off here and there.
"Your bed won't fit all four of us in it." Lexa mentioned.
"I can ask my mother to bring in another bed for the night." Clarke replied.
"Fair enough." Lexa commented.
Ten minutes later...
They have reached the gates of Arkadia. The loud alarm went off. Clarke quickly pulled sleeping Madi off Lexa's horse covering her ears, trying to block the noise as they walked in on their horses. Octavia and Lincoln got off their horses, handing the reins to Octavia. He pulled Aden down off the horse, carrying him. Octavia grabs the reins from Aden's horse. Clarke swings her leg over, sliding off her horse holding Madi, close to her. Lexa gets off her horse too. Grabbing the reins of Clarke's horse, then hands them to Echo. They wait for Echo and Octavia to come back from the stables.
"Clarke! Lexa! Octavia! Lincoln!" Abby shouted their names, coming towards them.
"Shhhhh... Their asleep." Lexa announced quietly.
"Oh, sorry. Must've been a long journey." Abby said.
"It has, now we need rest. We didn't stop." Lexa whispered back.
"Mom, can you put another bed in my quarters? Just for tonight. Lincoln and Octavia need their rest, too, before resuming their duties. Also, a quarter for Echo to stay in too." Clarke explained in a whisper.
"Sure. I'll bring one. Come on, you both look exhausted too." Abby is motioning them to follow her inside.
They go inside the Ark. Heading to Clarke's quarters. Lincoln walks inside her quarters, lays Aden on the bed. Then he leaves for his and Octavia's quarters to sleep.
Clarke lays Madi down beside Aden, pulling the blanket over them. Lexa sits on the desk, waiting for Clarke's mother to bring another bed for them to sleep.
"Clarke." Lexa said quietly, snapping Clarke out of a trance.
"Hmm?" Clarke replied, looking at her.
"What's wrong?" Lexa asked, watching her body language.
"I just have an eerie feeling something bad is going to happen while we're here." Clarke said, looking to Lexa.
"Come here." Lexa said, holding her hand out; Clarke takes it pulls her into a hug.
"Maybe I'm just paranoid." Clarke mentioned laying her head on Lexa's shoulder.
"We knew the risk of bringing them here. We'll take care of it when the time comes." Lexa replied, kissed the top of Clarke's head.
Abby finally came back with the extra bed. She rolled out for them. Clarke pulled away from Lexa, wiping her eyes.
"Everything okay?" Abby asked, putting blankets on the bed, looking at them.
"Yeah, we're fine. Thank you, mom." Clarke lied. She was smiling at her mother.
"You know I had quarters set up for the children." Abby mentioned.
"I'm sure you did, mom. Thank you." Clarke replied.
"With Okteiva and Linkon resting. Once they are well-rested, they'll resume their duties watching over the children, when we cannot. We prefer the children close to us tonight." Lexa explained, getting off the desk, standing beside Clarke.
"I'm sure you do, and you have every right to be protective of them. You're a mother now, and protectiveness is always going to be apart of you, especially when they get older." Abby explained, putting her hand on Lexa's shoulder, smiling at her.
"I understand now how protective you were when Clarke was around me. You were looking out for her well being." Lexa mentioned looking up at Abby, smiling back.
"Get some rest, you two, you both need to deal with Bellamy. He's been in there since you were last here." Abby said, walking toward the door.
"Thank you, mom, and good night." Clarke replied, unbuckling her armor.
Lexa goes to the door and locks it. Not knowing the eerie feeling her lover has and isn't going to take the chance of whoever entering in the middle of the night. Lexa also removes her armor, setting it down.
Clarke rummages through her closet, looking for clothes for them to sleep. Once they found some clothes, they get dressed quickly, and both get into bed. Lexa has her back against the wall with Clarke in a secure and protective hold. They both fall asleep.
