Malfoy watched as the group exited the common room and out to the hallway. He was curious about this girl. She was so, different. She didn't succumb and melt at his touch like everyone else did. She wanted to get away from him. She made it her mission to avoid him.
He was drawn to her. He didn't approach girls, girls approached him. Women ogled him all the time and would consider it a miracle that he even considered them approachable. But something about her drew him in.
She was beautiful, there was no doubt about that, but it was something about her. Maybe the fact that she was the one to approach her. Maybe it had to do with how she came up with witty comebacks and she was so straight forward with her answers.
Maybe the fact that she didn't hesitate to call people out on anything and the fact that she seemed appalled to his presence. Most considered his presence a gift from god.
She was the schools therapist, basically. Though she mostly dealt with people from our year or the year under. She most likely knew everything about everyone, at least the people who went to her. She had all this information and she didn't choose to use it for her own purpose.
Ravenclaws.
When she had fallen on top of his lap he had to adjust the way he sat, and his pants. The fact that she always told him to get some other girl instead of her. To bother and flirt with someone else. Her touch just ignited something in him.
A fire that would never be tamed. A blaze that would just keep blazing. A spark ignited that would never die down.
"First party and you get into a fight" laughed Athena as we walked back to the Ravenclaw common room.
"I didn't even do anything nor do I want to be part of their petty squabbles" I groaned. "But why are we talking about me when you Luna were snogging the life out of each other."
Athena's pink alcohol prone cheeks turned red within a matter of seconds while she tried to avoid my gaze. "Oh come on Athena, we saw it and we cheered."
"Oh my god you guys are so embarrassing" she said as she put her hands over her cheeks to cover from how red they had become. Her cheeks looked like when she was extremely drunk because Athena could handle her alcohol, but she tended to get red when she drank to much. "Do you think Luna saw you guys?"
"No, I think she was to busy sticking her tongue down your throat" I said with absolutely no filter.
Athena was now a tomato. Her skin had turned so red and it was very unflattering to her pink dress and blond locks. "Shut up" she slapped me playfully.
"Are you guys a things... or?" I asked.
"No" she said bluntly. "Should I ask her out?"
"Uh yes" I said jumping excitedly up and down.
"What if she says no?"
"An hour ago you were snogging and your afraid of her saying no" I chuckled at her idiocy. "Of course Luna is going to say yes, Luna loves you as much as you love her so seal the deal."
I walked into the common room after some other Ravenclaw opened the door for us so we didn't have to answer the riddle. Luna was sitting on the common room couch, cleaning her glasses that she used to 'see' nargles with. "Go" I pushed Athena toward Luna.
Luna looked up at Athena with a warm smile on her face and her cheeks were turning the slightest shade of pink. I gave Athena a wink as I sauntered off to the room that I shared with Athena.
I undressed myself, so glad to just wear my shorts and Ravenclaw hoodie. I took out the contacts after multiple tries that ended up in me poking my eyes.
My body was sore from everything that happened at the party and I just couldn't wait to get to sleep. I shut off the lights and threw myself onto my bed face down as I drifted into sleep in that uncomfortable position. I almost didn't hear the faint crack of the door that was Athena coming in.
She walked over to my next where she found me in that odd position. "Your the best you know that" she said kissing my cheek. "Night Addy."
Even though she didn't say it I knew that was a thanks for pushing her to ask Luna out because it was clear that Luna had said yes.
"I am going to go hang out with Luna" Athena said happily as she took her head out from her book and dropped her quill.
"And by hang out do you mean shag?" I asked with suggestive eyebrows.
Athena started to turn pink, but yelled "no" causing Madam Pince to scold us.
"Mhmm" I said not believing what she said about not shagging or snogging. Oh come on, we all know it's bound to happen whether you plan it or not.
"Okay well I've got to go" she said getting up from her chair and putting her jacket on that was hanging on the back of her chair. "How do I look?" she asked doing random modeling poses.
"Gorgeous as always" I smiled at her as she thanked me and walked away excited for her 'hang out.'
I looked back down at the book I was reading. It was a muggle book called 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austen who was a muggle author in the 18th century. Hermione had recommended it to me and I just had to take her advice because so far I was loving it.
I was so engrossed in my book that I had barely heard the scraping of the chair next to me. I hadn't fully registered the sound, but continued to read my book like nothing had happened.
It was weird, like I could feel a presence around me. Like an aura.
Damn I hang out with Luna to much.
It wasn't until I felt hot breaths on my neck that I fully registered someone was sitting next to me looking over my shoulder. I jerked my head to the side to meet the smirking face of Draco Malfoy.
"What do you want" I asked annoyed.
"You" he said blatantly like it was casual. I shut my book slipping my bookmark in between the page because I don't crease the pages. I'm not evil.
"What is wrong with you?"
"Whatever do you mean?" he teased, his smirk growing bigger.
"Why are you here?"
"Am I not allowed in the library" he said as he scanned the library to see that multiple people were seated in the libraries minding their business and doing their own thing.
"I mean" I said. "Why are you currently sitting next to me and breathing down my neck?"
"Am I not allowed to read either?"
"You are if you could get your own book and leave me to be in peace" I sighed exasperated and annoyed the shit out of. He merely smirked in response as he put his elbow on the head of my chair lazily. "Fine" I said getting up and picking him out a random book and tossing it on the desk for him.
I walked to another table where I took off my glasses to clean them on my sweater and when I put them on there he was again right in front of my face.
"You look better without glasses" he said beginning to open the random book I had gotten him.
"Thanks I guess" I said reopening the book I was reading and beginning to read the page over again.
"Are you a robot?" he asked which made me look up from my book and scan his face. He was serious.
"Is that even a real question?"
"Yes."
"No, I am not a robot, I am a human with a dash of depression and anxiety" I joked.
He looked at me like I was some type of puzzle that needed figuring out. His eyes scanned my face as he looked at me like I was a crazy person that needed to be put in an asylum. "I was joking jeez" I said making his face soften a bit.
"Are you broken or something?" he asked spotting his seat closer to me so I scooted my seat away from him.
"Broken in what way?" I asked like the horrible humor that I had.
"There are different ways?"
"Of course there are. Do you mean like heart broken? Mentally? Physically? Emotionally? All of the above?" I continued to explain to him. "What type are you talking about?"
"I mean, are you actually broken. Like is there something in your body that is not working right" he tapped my face like I was some clone. "You feel human."
"That's cause I am, I'm so confused what's happening here" I asked angrily swatting his finger from my face. He chuckled to himself and muttered something about me being 'hot when I'm angry and flustered.' Not exactly, but I couldn't hear him very well. "My visions impaired if that's what you mean?"
"Are you sick?" he asked.
"The question is are you because you are not acting like the Draco Malfoy that everyone knows" I said putting my hand on his forehead. "Your not hot" I observed referring to his forehead.
"Excuse me but I'm hotter than the sun" he corrected me.
I slapped my forehead which I really shouldn't have because of the growing migraine that I was starting to have. "Humble much."
"You didn't deny it" he teased.
"Your an idiot Malfoy" I said.
"You sure your not broken?"
"I'm not some type of toy Malfoy that can be broken and then fixed with some tape or a spell" I said still confused. "Look, I would really love to continue this conversation, but I just lied to you about wanting to continue this conversation and I really want to go be anywhere your not" I said standing up. "So bye."
Draco Malfoy was left at a table in the library with a book about potions on the table. Blaise Zabini walked over to Malfoy who was sneering at Blaise. Blaise was chuckling to himself as Malfoy mulled things over in his brain.
"That was pitiful" Blaise laughed grabbing the now vacated seat.
Malfoy stiffly inhaled as there was a lingering scent of something sweet, but a little tart.
Passion fruit.
She smelled like passion fruit and he wanted to smell it again.
