Sorry, this took so long, this story is on a kind of Hiatus while I work out the arc planner. I didn't want to put it on a real Hiatus because then many of you would think the story is canceled, which it is not. Why is working out the arc planner taking so long, because I have other things to do besides that?
I have to work on my other fics, I have to keep writing the actual book I want to write and publish one day, also I've been adding these fics to another fanfic site as well as this one. Also, my P.M.'s freaking exploded thanks to my story "I Don't Run An Orphanage." So I've been busy.
Don't worry eventually this fic will get monthly updates like the other fics, it's just taking it slow for now
Also not that anyone noticed but I changed Aoyama's hero name to the D.C. character Shining Knight. One because that just makes too much sense, and two because I'm not writing Aoyama's comically long hero name over and over.
Lastly, many people have been talking about a certain "twist" I put "twist" in quotations because it's not really too much of a twist because of how obvious it is. Many people have expressed their dread and sadness at this twist and have even asked that I not do it.
No.
It's gonna happen, I've gone too deep on this story and put too much foreshadowing not to do it, it's been planned since the beginning and many future plans hinge on it.
So, dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same. It is inevitable.
And with that, let's start the story.
Dracula sat in his underground castle, board out of his mind. "Good lord, when are they going to attack? I want to squash those heroes under my heel already!"
Then, he felt something. A telepathic tug from one of his minions.
Actually, several of his minions.
The heroes were attacking...from everywhere.
"At last!" Dracula stood from his throne in excitement. "Go forth my minions! Turn them all! Make them into my loyal servants!"
The cave rumbled, as many of his vampire servants stampeded through the exits, to take on the heroes' forces.
Meanwhile, with Mandalay and Ragdoll.
Mandalay and Ragdoll finally reached their destination and in their drill, stopping it so they didn't go any further than they wanted to.
This is Mandalay, we've reached position. Mandalay communicated to everyone using her quirk.
"Copy, tell us when enough forces have been diverted from Dracula's stronghold so team A can attack," Izuku said using the drills coms.
Right. Mandalay communicated.
Back with team A
Team A waited in their drill for the signal to be given.
However, they couldn't help but notice that someone was missing.
"Where is Invisible Girl?" Endeavor asked.
"She's invisible, maybe she's hiding from the big bad child abuser." Red Hood commented.
"Hood. Not now." Izuku scolded her. "We have to work together to save your friend. Remember."
Toga pouted but stopped in her ribbing of Endeavor.
"As for Invisible girl, I have other plans for her," Izuku explained.
"And you don't think it's wise to tell us this other part of the plan?" Endeavor asked, annoyed but not surprised at this new information.
Izuku was about to speak, but Toga beat him to it. "Oh! Let me do it!"
Toga coughed as she switched into her gravily, overdramatic mock Batman voice. "That information is on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know!"
Izuku shook his head at her antics. "That is correct. Just trust that when the time comes, she'll be here."
Momo, meanwhile, was getting more and more nervous as time went on. The realization of just how many people she would be fighting and that most of them were simply civilians under the control of a villain, was unnerving, to say the least. Not helped by the fact that there was now a secret plan he was unaware of.
Seeing her discomfort, Toga decided to move in to...well perhaps comfort was too strong a word.
"Hey, don't worry about it. Planning people's fates without telling them about it is Batsy's whole thing." Toga whispered, although given how cramped the space they were in, it was kind of for nothing as Endeavor and Izuku could hear here anyway. "It turns out fine pretty much every time. He's kind of a genius like that."
"Aren't you...nervous at all?" Momo wasn't sure if she found Himiko's comments amusing or unnerving considering the situation. "We are trying to save a friend of yours. I thought you'd be more...serious."
"Why? We're gonna win." Himiko said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Sure maybe not everyone is gonna get out of this alive but most of us probably will!"
"That...that's not really reassuring," Momo said. "If anything it's a bit concerning how casually you're talking about people losing their lives."
"Well, what'd you want from me? If I cried over every hero that dies then I'd be sobbing like a baby." Himiko shrugged.
"What she's saying is that she's confident we'll succeed and that she has a degree of separation to prevent severe emotional pain." Izuku quickly explained. He cherished Himiko dearly, but he was aware that other people weren't used to her...eccentricity and….more worrying comments.
Not feeling at all comforted by Toga's comments, Momo decided to check her equipment.
Her Izuku and Toga's Batsuits were all tailored specifically for this mission. They were a bit bulkier than the standard suit, due to the increased amount of armor and larger utility belt. Everything was covered up, not showing any amount of skin so they didn't get infected. They also had what Toga referred to as a Sun Fist, it was basically just lights on their fist that emitted solar lights, that would be enough to stun a vampire with one punch, and cure them with multiple punches.
In the utility belt itself had what was called a solar whip attached to it. The whip was kind of like a glow stick, but it emitted solar energy, and when it hit something it would emit a burst of solar energy, that would cure any vampire hit with it. Toga had dubbed it, the Vampire Killer.
They also had a fair amount of solar grenades, these did what you'd think they'd do, exploding with solar energy curing all those caught up in the blast.
Of course, she had several of those food bars.
And also, they had some of a prototype antidote, that in theory could cure a person of vampirism. However, it hadn't been tested yet so it wasn't very reliable
They also had some other tricks, along with some of the more standard tools used by Izuku and Toga.
Dracula's forces are moving! All teams except A team prepare for combat! Mandalay communicated telepathically.
It's almost time. Izuku thought. "You took the pill right Endeavor."
Endeavor nodded.
The solar pill was something designed by Melissa that would convert the flames made by a fire quirk user such as Endeavor, to solar flames, that gave off the same energies as the sun itself.
Alright, everything is in place, now we wait a little longer. Izuku thought.
Meanwhile with team B.
"They're coming," Cementoss said, feeling the rumbling in through the cement sewer.
"Then let us commence with the attacking." Starfire, charging her fist with her quirk
Starfire. Quirk: Solar Power. Starfire can absorb sunlight to boost her body's strength and speed, as well as being able to expel that sunlight in the form of sunlight beams.
"Are you sure you'll be ok, there's not much sunlight to absorb," Cementoss said?
"I will be fine! The Batman had made this spectacular device called a so-lar funn-l." Starfire said."My body is full of sun! It actually hurts a little."
"Well then, let's get rid of some of it shall we," Cementoss said as the sound of the hoard came closer.
"RAHHHHHHHHHH!" Shouted the hoard of vampires rushing at them.
"Let us start the plan!" Starfire said getting in front of Cementoss.
Cementoss touched the ground and activated his quirk.
"RAH!" Suddenly the vampire hoard was separated from each other, as thick cement walls rose up and blocked large sections of the army from each other. Leaving only ten vampires to charge towards the pair of heroes.
PEW! PEW! PEW!
Starfire blasted the ten vampires before they could get close, hitting them all right in the face with sunlight.
"WAHHH!" The ten vampires cried out in pain as they froze in place, the sunlight was absorbed into their bodies, causing them to morph and change until they had returned completely to normal.
"Ohhhh." The former vampires all collapsed onto the cement floor before they were all moved by Cementoss into a nearby hole he had made in the wall, and lifted back up to the surface in a cement elevator, where paramedics would be waiting to take them.
It was a simple and effective strategy. Separate the enemy forces into smaller groups, take out those smaller groups, and get the cured civilians back to the surface so there was no risk of them getting hurt or re-infected.
However, the one issue was that it was highly taxing on Cementoss to do this. Making the walls wasn't too hard however the vampires were trying with all their might to destroy them, meaning he had to constantly keep repairing them, and that cement elevator took a lot out of him as well.
Starfire had to be quick with her work, taking them out as fast as she could so Cementoss didn't run out of steam too soon, while also being conservative with her blast so she didn't run out of power either.
Cementoss lowered a wall allowing another small group of vampires to rush forward, only for Starfire to take them out again. Rinse-wash repeat.
Now all they had to do was keep this up long enough for A-team to complete their mission.
With C-team.
Aoyama could already feel the stomach aches that would be coming from this or was that just the area shaking as the vampires neared them.
"They're here. Shining Knight, begin the barrage." Edgeshot said.
"Oi," Aoyama said as he started charging up his laser, the light revealing the huge wave of vampires coming at him. "Shining arrows!"
Dozens of small blasts of light came from Aoyama, hitting many of the vampires and curing them in seconds, only for Hawks to use his feathers and drag them away to keep them from getting infected again.
However there were so many vampires, and of course, a few managed to get close to Aoyama, closing in on him and preparing to attack.
Only for them to fall down to the floor, unconscious. Edgeshot having used his quirk to go inside them and cut off the flow of blood to their brain, knocking them out instantly and leaving them to get blasted by Aoyama.
This was the perfect wall of offense, rapidly taking down vampires by the dozens while remaining untouched by their foes.
But Aoyama could only keep this up for so long. And without him, they would get overwhelmed by the vampires.
In the end, all they could do was hold out and continue laying down the fire, until team-A finished.
Team D.
Shoto's plan was similar to Cementoss's and Starfire's however he had to pull double duty, making walls of ice to separate their forces, and thanks to the solar pill, his fire took out the vampires instantly, and using his ice he would slide them behind them to keep them from getting reinfected.
However the walls of ice were not as sturdy as thick walls of Cement, and the vampires would eventually manage to smash through them.
Which is where Crust came in, using his shields he would defend Shoto from any Vampires who got too close, giving Shoto time to lay down fire and reinforce the ice walls.
It was a shaky plan. As it relied heavily on the skills of both Shoto and Crust. If either one of them slipped up and Shoto got infected, it would be over immediately.
Shoto could have just flipped the whole corridor with fire, but that would likely kill many of these people so that was not an option, leaving this as their best plan.
Team A better hurry. Shoto thought.
Team E
Tokoyami heard the wave of enemies coming, and turned to Raven. "Can you see them?"
"Yup," Raven said in her usual bored tone, although if you listened closely you could hear the nervousness in her voice. "Just like Batman said, there's a crap ton of them."
"Then shall we begin?" Tokoyami grunted, he had been having a hard time holding Darkshadow back in this pitch-black cavern.
"Yes, let's begin." Raven's eyes glowed.
And then in unison, they shouted, "Black Shroud, Raven of destruction!"
"CAWWWW!" Dark Shadow burst to life and grew around the two of them. His darkness enveloping the two of them as he grew to nearly the size of the whole cavern, growing into an enormous dark bird.
Dark Shadow charged at the army of vampires, decimating them instantly.
The sentient quirk absolutely tore through its enemies with ease, knocking most of them out with swift and powerful swipes of its claws, while the vampires uselessly tried to attack the creature, but to no avail.
Dark Shadow could easily take out the entire army of Vampires and maybe even Dracula himself.
However, that would come at a cost. Dark Shadow was a wild, vicious beast that would tear through the army, and kill every single one of its enemies. It's enemies being innocent civilians forced to fight against their will. Raven was doing her best to keep him on a leash, but she couldn't do it forever. If this went on long enough, Dark Shadow would break free of her control, and the sewer water would run red with blood. Meaning she would have to make them retreat before that happened.
All she had to do was hold him back, and wait for Team A.
With Mandalay and Ragdoll.
"Update?" Mandalay asked her teammate.
"A lot of his forces have left, tell team A to attack!" Ragdoll said.
Mandalay nodded.
Team A.
Team A! Enough forces have been diverted from the castle, now's the time! Mandalay told them.
"Alright, we're moving to attack," Izuku said over the coms.
Izuku pressed some buttons on the controls, and the drill started up.
"Alright!" Toga said, her voice had a slightly serious, slightly sadistic edge to it. "Let's get this party started!"
At Dracula's castle.
Dracula sat in his throne room, feeling out the battle through his link with his minions.
That dark creature is troublesome, the others will fall to my forces eventually, but that one may require my direct attention. Dracula pondered.
BRRRRRRRRRRR
With his enhanced hearing, Dracula could hear a loud drilling outside his castle, something was digging through the ground directly to his cavern.
It was at that moment Dracula realized what was going on. Clever heroes, clever. But you made a grave mistake in assuming you could defeat the prince of darkness! Dracula!
The self-proclaimed prince stood from his throne, and summoned the remains of his forces, a little over a hundred vampires, and stormed outside.
THUNK!
The drill landed in the cave, a good distance from Dracula's forces.
Dracula stood atop the biggest rock he could find, commanding some of his minions to move his cape around to look as imposing as possible. "Heroes. So you have finally decided to attack me. Dracula!? Ha! What fools you are to-"
Then suddenly the hatch on the drill opened up, and Toga popped out.
"Listen up you filthy parasite!" Toga shouted, interrupting Dracula. "You took one of my friends! So I'm here to get him back! And since you made it personal-"
Toga took out a light whip and hit it against the drill making and electric krack.
"I'm gonna personally enjoy tearing you apart."
