II - A Dark Reunion

I just… can't believe it. She's actually gone. Letty Ortiz is dead. Considering how much it's affecting me, I can't imagine how much it affects Dom because she was the love of his life. His complementary equal. Pretty much him in female form. She was the tough sister you can't help but love, for she would do whatever to protect you.

We both thought that we should cross the border into the States and get back to LA and in some way cope with her death while we're there.

Of course because we're wanted fugitives, we couldn't just go down there to her funeral. We had to see it in the distance. But at least we saw her funeral.

When it was nighttime, we both went back to the house. The very house that I considered a home, before it was practically ripped away from me.

In fact, when we got there through an alley way since the police would stakeout the place, just seeing it with my own eyes made me shed tears, which Dom noticed.

"You alright?" He asked.

"I'm sorry. I just help but think back to the old days. With Leon, Vince, Jesse and Letty." I told him and he understood so well that he hugged me. I calmed down thankfully and we entered the garage and waited for Mia.

Once she came in, she had changed so much. She was now a strong woman. We walked up to her and she turned and saw us. She instantly hugged us both and we hugged back, tightly. Especially me.

"I told you two not to come. They're staking the place out. If they find you-" She was going on.

"They won't." Dom told her.

"Come on. Look at you." Dom then said, being an older brother to her and clearly thought she was gorgeous.

"Mia. I want to apologize for how I acted when I last saw you. I was so distraught that my anger took over, and I lashed out at you." I apologized to her and she placed her hands on my cheeks and gave me that smile she always had.

"I forgive you, David." She accepted my apology and I smiled, knowing that my and her are on good terms now.

Me and Dom looked around the garage and it was still like it was five years ago. But then we spotted the Dodge Charger. It looked like it was in the middle of being souped up.

"Letty wouldn't let them junk it." Mia said as Dom walked to it and examined it.

"Even though it is a goddamn curse." She added.

"When she came back, she was always in here, working on it day and night." She then said. That sounded like her alright.

"It was weird. It was like she knew you were coming back." Mia then told us. She still held onto that hope that we'd make it back home.

"I want to see the crash site." Dom requested.

Dom drove us to where the crash that killed Letty happened. It was outside the city.

"It's straight ahead." She told us and we walked to it and looked on the road. There were tire tracks and they made a sharp turn. There were scrapes but then we both spotted some kind of substance on the ground. It looked yellow. I poked it with a finger and rubbed it against my thumb. It's clear what it is and we can visualize what happened here.

Two cars were on the road and one of them rammed into the other, causing it to roll until it landed on the top of the car.

But we also visualized someone shooting her. Damnit. We have to take revenge. We just have to.

Dom drove the car and stopped.

"You found something back there." Mia pointed out.

"Yeah. There were burn marks. Ones that are caused by nitrometh." I said.

"And there's only one guy in all of LA that sells that." Dom concluded.

"Nothing you can do is gonna bring her back, Dom." Mia reminded her big brother. She may be right, but the people that did this need to be punished.

"If I were Letty, I would ask you- No, I would beg you, please, let this go. Even you, David. I know much she meant to you. Before it's too late." Mia begged us.

"It's already too late." Dom corrected her.

"I love you both." She told us and kissed us both on our cheeks before getting out of the car. Dom made a U-Turn and we were just ready to go down this path of darkness.

The next day came rather quickly and we entered his garage where he's playing some music and working underneath a car. He didn't notice us and then Dom aggressively pulled him out so that he could see us.

"Toretto, David. When'd you get back in town?" He asked us.

"We're looking for a car you did an engine mod on. Nitromethane tank. Ford full size. Continental tires." Dom told him.

"Look, what are you doing, coming in here like this, huh? This ain't your scene anymore, boss. Don't you ever put your hands on me again, okay? Say hi to your sister for me." He then shrugged us off and went back underneath the car. Now I just got super angry. I looked at Dom and he nodded, giving me permission.

I aggressively pulled him out and punched him in the face and then pulled him up by the shirt and threw him on the hood of another car, while Dom lowered an engine and grabbed a hold of a chain, making it stop right above his face.

"Tell us now, faggot." I hissed at him.

"A Korean kid brought it in. David Park. It's a green Ford Torino. Please don't drop this on me." The loser told us. Satisfied, I shoved him to the floor and Dom let the engine drop, damaging the car.

"Never disrespect us, you son of a bitch." I spat at him and we left.

After some digging around, we found where David Park lived. It was in an apartment building and in room 402. Dom kicked the door open and there was David, smoking some kind of pot or weed. Dom made the first move and shoved him up to the wall.

"Green Torino, running nitro. Whose car?" Dom asked him.

"I don't know, man." David said.

"Wrong answer, shithead." I snarled at him, punching him in the stomach.

"I swear! I'm just the middleman!" He shouted and Dom threw him at the sofa.

"Wait, wait, wait." He begged.

"I don't know shit, I swear. I just run cars for Braga, alright? All I can do is get you two in the race! That's all I can do!" David told us.

"What race?" Dom asked him. He didn't answer so he grabbed him and smashed him through the window and held him by the ankle, making him hang upside down.

"Come on, man, I don't know shit! Just let me up! I told you, you got to talk to Braga!" David shouted at us.

"Bring him up, Dom. Bring him up." A voice we're too familiar with said behind us. I took deep breaths to prevent myself from beating him up to a pulp.

"Are you gonna take us in, O'Conner?" I coldly asked.

"Shut up!" Dom barked at David who just repeated 'shit' over and over.

"Letty was my friend, too." Brian said. I instantly looked at him, furious that he thought he was friends with her, after what he did.

"You weren't anyone's friend." Dom put him in his place.

"Yo, can you guys talk about this later?! Now pull my ass up!" David whined.

"Shut up, man baby!" I barked at him.

"She was running for this guy, Braga, and things went bad. I'm gonna get these guys. Now let me do my job and bring him up." Brian ordered us. We're not lap dogs!

"I'm gonna kill this Braga. And anyone else who gets in our way." Dom said and then let go og David. We then left instantly. Now we just had to get to this race.

Once we learned details of the race, we both got a garage and did our best to make the best cars possible since there are currently two slots left for Braga with racers.

I had to use a 2006 Dodge Charger since I had to make sure I got a slot and help Dom get revenge.

Damn I am currently watching the film as I'm writing this, and I am surprised by how dark this film is.
