Chapter Thirty Four: Lovebirds

It was the talk of the third years over the next couple of days. Wherever they went Fred and Emalia heard the whispers.

'Have you heard about Weasley and Potter?'

'Did you see them holding hands?'

'Emalia and Fred are going out, they look cute together.'

'I can't believe Fred would want to go out with her! Or is that George?'

'I can't believe Emalia would prefer to date Weasley over me. He's not even that good looking, and Quidditch? Ha! What an amateur.'

The last one came from Roger Davies in the form of a very audible whisper, who had a particularly sour look on his face. Fred was in the process of going over to thump him until Emalia pulled him back into his seat. 'Leave him alone, I don't think his ego can take the bruising' she whispered.

'I wasn't planning on bruising his ego' muttered Fred. Emalia laughed and kissed his cheek. Lee pretended to vomit. He had taken to doing this whenever Fred and Emalia publicly displayed their affection to one another. So Emalia turned and stuck her tongue out at him before grinning.

Other than Roger, the only one who didn't seem pleased about Fred and Emalia going out was Oliver Wood. 'This better not distract you from Quidditch Weasley. This is the best team we have had in a long time and if we lose because you're making goo goo eyes at Emalia, I will personally shove that bat-'

'Woah ok, Oliver messaged received' said Fred trying not to laugh, knowing that Oliver would stay true to his word and may even attempt what he was threatening if provoked.

One evening, the Gryffindor Quidditch team came trudging back into the Common Room. Fred flopped down beside Emalia, who looked at him and the rest of her friends questioningly. 'Snape is refereeing our match against Hufflepuff' muttered Fred miserably. Emalia wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek.

'Maybe it won't be that bad' she said trying to improve their moods. All she got in response was a series of grunts and sighs as everyone digested the news further.

As the match drew closer, the team accepted their fate and decided not to give Snape the opportunity to penalise them without cause. So much so that Fred and George refrained from causing any mayhem in his class the week of the match.

The morning of the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff match arrived and the rest of the team were making their way down to the stadium. Emalia met Harry just outside the Great Hall, she pulled him into a hug 'Good luck Harry! Don't worry about Snape, just focus on the game.' Harry managed to smile 'Thanks Em' he said.

Suddenly she was pulled away from her cousin and turned to see the beautiful brown eyes of her boyfriend looking at her. Fred leaned down and kissed her briefly. 'One for luck' he murmured smiling at her before leaning down to kiss her again. Emalia pushed him away gently smiling 'And that one was because?' she teased.

'Because I wanted to kiss my beautiful girlfriend' he cooed, grinning at her. Fred was about to kiss her again when he heard Oliver shouting at him 'I SWEAR TO GODRIC GRYFFINDOR, IF YOU DON'T STOP KISSING HER AND GET OVER HERE NOW-'

'Yeah, yeah Oliver I'm coming, keep your knickers on' called Fred 'You're just jealous cause no one is out here waiting to kiss you.'

'Now, now Freddie. Ollie has only one love in his life; his broom. And I'm sure he gives it a kiss every night' teased George as he ducked, the bottom of Oliver's broom swiping through the air his head had occupied seconds earlier.

Emalia stifled a laugh, 'Good Luck!' she called after them, waving as they made their way to the Quidditch pitch.

Emalia went back into the Great Hall to have breakfast, and a few minutes later first year delivered a note to her from Albus. It read:

'Dear Emalia,

I was hoping you would do me the honour of attending today's Quidditch match with me. Meet me in my office at 10:30 sharp.

Yours, Albus.'

Emalia thought it was strange that Albus was attending this match, usually he only came to the final match of each house. Nevertheless, Emalia was at the Headmaster's office at the time he specified.

Well she was there earlier than stated, it was one of the things Albus had instilled in her, being early gave you time to take in your surroundings and centre yourself. She knocked before entering, but Albus was already expecting her.

He opened the door and ushered her in. 'We will leave momentarily; I won't be a minute' he said cheerfully as he left her standing in his office. Emalia walked over to a very sickly-looking Fawkes and gently pet him.

'Coming up to a burning day Fawkes?' she hummed sweetly. Fawkes closed his eyes as Emalia continued to pet him and hummed gently.

When Albus returned he watched her for a second. She was glowing softly, brighter than before. She seemed more content and happier, and he was pretty sure a certain red-haired boy played a big part in that. He smiled to himself before garnering her attention.

They walked down to the Quidditch grounds together, most of the students and staff had already arrived, but instead of sitting in the student section; Emalia found herself sitting amongst the teachers and a few others, who she later found out were scouts for various Quidditch teams.

The Gryffindor and Hufflepuff teams had just flown out onto the pitch when Albus casually said 'I can see that Mr Weasley makes you very happy.' Emalia could feel her cheeks burning, and she was sure that her face was nearly the same shade of scarlet as her Gryffindor scarf.

Albus chuckled 'Ah to be young and in love.' Emalia on the other hand was secretly hoping that a bludger would come flying at her and knock her out. At least she would be away from this situation.

'How do you know?' she managed to say when she had regained some semblance of composure. 'My dear Emalia, I think by now you should just assume that I know all' his blue eyes glint with amusement.

Thankfully the match had just started, and Emalia was saved from any further awkward conversation. Although the game did not go as Oliver had originally planned. Merely two minutes into the game, Snape had awarded Hufflepuff a penalty because George had hit a Bludger at him.

Emalia had to fight to supress her snickering, she shook her head trying to feign disappointment when she noticed a few of the Professors glancing at her. Though when she looked out of the corner of her eye, she could have sworn she saw Albus smiling.

Emalia turned her attention back to the game as the crowd began to cheer. Harry had suddenly into a spectacular dive, streaking towards the ground like a bullet. Harry sped straight towards Snape, 'COME ON HARRY' shouted Emalia as she hopped out of her seat excitedly.

Snape turned on his broomstick just in time to see something scarlet shoot past him, missing him by inches – next second, Harry pulled out of the dive, his arm raised in triumph, the Snitch clasped in his hand.

The stands erupted, it had to be a record, no one could ever remember the Snitch being caught so quickly. Emalia and Albus made their way down to the pitch. Emalia sought out Fred, when she found him, she jumped into his arms wrapping her arms around his neck.

He caught her mid-air wrapping his arms around her waist, dropping his broom on the ground and swung her around laughing. He kissed her sweetly on the forehead before putting her back on her feet.

'Congratulations' she said smiling up at him.

'Thank you' laughed Fred 'Only thing I'm upset about is I didn't get to hit a Bludger at Snape as well. I owe George a galleon now.' Emalia shook her head at him laughing.

They eventually made their way back to the Common Room. All of Gryffindors were in the mood to celebrate. Not only had they won the match with Snape refereeing, but they also managed to take the lead in the chase for the Cup.

Fred and George had managed to sneak down to the kitchens and came back with cakes and other stuff. By the time the prefects came to send everyone to bed, most of the food was gone but the joy was still there. Emalia decided to go to bed before the rest of her friends. She had another duelling lesson with Professor Flitwick tomorrow.

She stretched before disentangling herself from Fred and stood up. She bent down and kissed him goodnight, just a quick peck, before making her way to her dormitory.

The next evening she made her way to the room where she had her duelling lessons with Professor Flitwick. 'Good evening Miss Potter, I hope you are keeping well' asked Professor Flitwick as he walked into the room. 'Yes Sir!' she nodded enthusiastically.

'Good!' he continued 'This evening we are going to try something new' he finished as he bustled over to the other side of the room.

'Sir?' she asked curiously. Professor Flitwick looked at her and smiled at her 'Tonight Miss Potter, you are going to duel me.'

Emalia was surprised, she did not think she was even near ready to duel Flitwick. She walked to her position in front of him rather apprehensively. He chuckled lightly 'Do not fret Miss Potter, we are just trying to disarm each other. So take your place, we shall bow to each other and then take our duelling stance.'

Emalia nodded nervously and tried to swallow the lump that had formed in throat. Both of them bowed to each other and took up their respective duelling stances. Professor Flitwick waited, studying her and Emalia did the same.

Emalia sent the first spell, trying to disarm Professor Flitwick, he easily deflected it and countered with his own spell. Emalia fired off two more spells before Professor Flitwick disarmed her.

'Very good, Miss Potter. Again.'

They continued duelling for the better part of an hour, Emalia adapting and improving as they went. The longer the duels went on the spells Flitwick used got more complicated, forcing Emalia to think outside of the box. She had gotten very close to disarming Professor Flitwick, but in her excitement her concentration broke and he was once again able to disarm her.

Emalia sighed in frustration as she lowered her wand to her side. Professor Flitwick saw her movements and said 'Miss Potter, it takes time to become an accomplished dueller. Remember I have years more experience than you. You are doing a fantastic job and you have improved tenfold.' He paused to look at her 'You should be proud of how far you have come in a few short months.'

Emalia looked up at him, realising what he said was true. She should be proud of herself; she had wrested back control of her anger and her emotions; channelled them into duelling, into her work and her relationships.

She smiled at Professor Flitwick 'Thank you Sir. For everything.'

'We are not done quite yet Miss Potter. Clear your head of your frustration, focus on the here and now. We will duel once more tonight before we finish.'

Again they bowed to each other and took their duelling stances. This time Emalia waited for Professor Flitwick to make the first move. She deflected his first spell which was closely followed by his second which she dodged.

She allowed him to fire off one more before she countered with her own attack, watching how he moved and reacted to the spell she sent his way. They continued their dance, moving and deflecting each other's spells. It looked as if Professor Flitwick had gained the upper hand.

This time however Emalia adapted to Flitwick's aggressive plays, deflecting his spells waiting patiently until she identified a lull in Flitwick's spell casting. It was then she chose to attack aggressively, and it paid off.

For the first time, Emalia disarmed Professor Flitwick sending his wand flying across the room.

'Well done Miss Potter!' exclaimed Professor Flitwick happily. Emalia beamed at him; she was beyond happy with herself.

'I think we will end it here for tonight. I will see you again next week.'

Emalia basically skipped out of the room. She had just reached the Fat Lady's portrait when she saw Fred and the rest of the Quidditch team make their way back to the Common Room. Oliver wanted to continue with the momentum that they had gotten from the last match. She smiled widely at him when she saw him, and ran towards him, launching herself into his arms when she reached him.

He caught her easily 'Woah there' he grinned 'Not that I don't appreciate the welcome, but what was that for?' Emalia kissed him and laughed 'Just because.'

Fred grinned at her and kissed her again 'Well maybe you should welcome me more like that just because.'

They walked hand in hand behind the others into the Common Room. They had just walked through the portrait; Fred pulled her back. 'Have you anything else to do tonight?' he asked.

'Not really, I mean exams are soon' replied Emalia shrugging her shoulders.

'How is my girlfriend such a nerd?' chuckled Fred teasing her.

'Oi, shut up' she grinned punching his arm playfully. Fred pulled her into a kiss.

'Ok, come with me' muttered Fred, as he pulled her back out of the Common Room. They walked down near the entrance hall and took the stairs down.

'Where are we going?' whispered Emalia. Fred looked back at her, put his finger to his lips and continued walking. They stopped in front of a brightly lit and decorated food-themed portrait.

Fred let go of her hand and walked over to the portrait. Emalia watched on curiously as Fred tickled the pear on the painting of a bowl of fruit. The pear giggled and suddenly a large green door handle appeared revealing a doorway.

Emalia looked at Fred curiously. 'Come on' he said as he pulled her through the doorway. 'You always wanted to know how George and I got the food, now is your chance.' Emalia followed him eagerly.

The kitchen was a gigantic, high ceilinged room lined with five tables. As soon as Emalia and Fred entered the kitchen, they were greeted by no more than a hundred house elves. 'Good evening kind sir and miss, what can we get you?' asked one of the house elves.

Another was leading them over to the table, seating them. Emalia looked at Fred 'How did you figure out how to get into the kitchens?'

Fred grinned at her as the house elves brought over mugs of hot cocoa, a selection of sandwiches and mini lemon drizzle cakes. 'I have to keep some secrets Em.'

Emalia took a sip of her hot cocoa, the chocolatey taste of it was divine. She smiled at Fred as he bit into one of the sandwiches 'Ok then Weasley, keep your secrets.'

Fred winked at her, causing the two of the to dissolve into giggles. The spent some time talking and eating. The conversation flowed easily between them, and it was nice to get some time by themselves away from the group.

Eventually they decided to leave, it was already way past curfew so they would have to be careful getting back to the Common Room. The house elves tried to get them to bring food back with them and were disappointed when they both refused. Fred and Emalia promised that they would visit again soon which seemed to brighten their spirits.

The tiptoed back to the Common Room hand in hand, making sure to keep quiet, checking around every corner before walking around it. The Common Room was empty when they arrived back.

Fred pulled her close to him and kissed her tenderly. 'Thank you for finally showing me where you get all the food from' she whispered. Fred laughed quietly 'Thank you for going on a date with me' he responded. Emalia kissed him again 'Anytime Freddie.'

Fred kissed her forehead; they both whispered their goodnights to each other before going their separate ways to bed. They were both so content and happy that they did not pass any bit of heed on the teasing remarks they both got when they arrived in their dorms.

Valentine's day was soon approaching, and Fred and Emalia's friend group were bugging them about it. George was particularly vocal about his teasing, so much so that Emalia eventually followed through with her threats of engorging his tongue.

'Are you going to spend the day kissing and making goo goo eyes at each other?' teased George 'Oh wait… you already do that.' The rest of the group tried to hide their giggles. Emalia, who was sitting beside Fred, her back to the arm of the couch and her legs resting on his lap, put down her book and looked at George.

'I promise George, I will hex you if you don't stop. I mean it's all you've been talking about the past week' she sighed, but there was a mischievous glint in her eyes.

George grinned at her thinking he had successfully annoyed her. 'Yeah, sure you will Em. It's not like you haven't been threatening that all week' he goaded. Fred shook his head at his twin 'I wouldn't push it Georgie.'

George continued to tease them both, Emalia was sitting listening to him twiddling her wand through her fingers. She raised her eyebrow threateningly at him. George in return grinned at her, as if he was calling her bluff.

Except this time, it wasn't a bluff. As George had gotten into a good rhythm with his teasing, Emalia pointed her wand at him, specifically at his tongue and quietly muttered 'Engorgio'.

Immediately George stopped speaking, as his tongue started to swell in his head. No one apart from George and Emalia knew it had happened as the others were in the middle of revising for Charms tomorrow.

However, Fred quickly noticed that his brother had stopped talking and looked up at him. The sight he was greeted with caused him to laugh out loud, which in turn alerted the rest of the group that something had happened.

George was sitting there, a very agitated look on his face, his tongue had swollen to twice its size. 'I told you George' laughed Fred. Emalia just smiled, keeping her attention on her book as the rest of the group fell to pieces laughing.

Eventually George started making grunting sounds as if to get Emalia to reverse the spell. 'Are you going to stop with the teasing?' she asked. George nodded his head vigorously.

'Do you promise?'

Again George nodded his head.

Emalia pointed her wand at George's tongue 'Reducio.'

There was silence for a moment before George started laughing 'I didn't think you would actually do it Em!'

Fred grinned at his brother 'You do realise she did hex off my eyebrows before?'

As the evening drew on, the Common Room steadily became emptier as people began to make their way to bed. Eventually, only Fred, Emalia, George and Alicia were left. George and Alicia were talking about the last Quidditch match against Ravenclaw when Fred pulled Emalia to him.

'So …' he started looking slightly nervous 'Do you eh- want to do something for Valentine's day? We could go to that teashop or something.'

'Oh!' said Emalia 'To be honest, I eh, I didn't really think about it. We could just spend the day in Hogsmeade.'

Fred nodded and smiled as Emalia rest her head against his shoulder. He could hear her yawn and chuckled to himself. 'Someone is sleepy.'

Emalia looked up at him, her eyes giving away the fact that she was tired, but she didn't want to leave the couch. She was comfortable here with him 'I am not' she mumbled. Fred chuckled again and gently kissed the top of her head. 'Go to bed' he said, 'I'm going myself.'

Emalia reluctantly got up from the couch and said goodnight to her friends. When she walked behind the couch she was just sitting on, she gently pulled Fred's head back and kissed him before skipping up to bed.

The weekend trip to Hogsmeade took place the day after Valentine's day, and a lot of the couples in Hogwarts used this as an excuse to go on a date. The most popular location was Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop.

Emalia and Fred walked right past the place hand in hand, and both felt ill at the amount of lovey dovey couples that were in there and made their way to the Three Broomsticks to meet up with their friends. They preferred to spend the day with their friends, Valentine's day was not important to them, at least it wasn't important to them yet.

As exams crept ever closer, a lot of Emalia's time was either spent in the library or tutoring other students who needed help. She had a few first-year students who were struggling with Transfiguration and Charms, a few second years who were drowning in potions and she even had one or two O.W.L students approach her asking for help.

As much as Emalia loved being able to help, it meant spending less time with Fred, so he decided that as much as he did not want to be there, he would go to the library with Emalia, purely to be near her.

One evening in particular, they were studying when Fred overheard Roger Davies talking about Emalia. He was about to go over and introduce Roger to his fist, when Emalia took hold of his hand and whispered to him 'Don't, I have a better idea' she nodded her head in the direction of Madam Pince.

Madam Pince was on the prowl, checking to make sure students were sticking to her rules and respecting the books in the library. Emalia carefully took out her wand, trying to disguise it as best as she could.

She pointed it directly at Roger and muttered a spell quietly. His ink well hovered in the air, a few centimetres above the desk and the library book Roger was using. Emalia then let the inkwell empty its contents over Roger's desk, which caused him to yell.

Madam Pince, alerted by the noise, walked straight over to its source. Her eyes went wide with horror when she saw the library book covered in ink. 'HOW DARE YOU' she shrieked at Roger 'NEVER HAVE I SEEN! A LIBRARY BOOK! DEFILED! GET OUT! NOW!'

Roger quickly gathered his belongings and ran for his life, out of the library. Fred and Emalia on the other hand were trying to contain their laughter. They could not even look at each other because they knew if they did, they would not be able to control their laughter.

Eventually they decided to leave, it was a safer bet. They packed up their stuff and made a mad dash for the door. As soon as the library doors shut behind them the collapsed into a fit of laughter, laughing until their sides hurt.

The week of exams was upon them, and some were more stressed than others. Emalia, Fred and George were the only ones in their year who were not fretting about exams. Alicia was also fine until it came to Potions. Emalia had worked with her and told her she would do fine she just had to calm her nerves.

'I just can't wait for exams to be over. We have the last Quidditch match after, at least then we can focus on that' said Alicia.

Fred and George looked at her with mock horror on their faces. 'You mean you haven't been eating, sleeping and breathing Quidditch since the last match Al? asked Fred.

'Don't tell Oliver, I think if he heard that he may just wet himself in anger' said George grinning. The group of them laughed, the atmosphere instantly became more relaxed and for the first time in the past week the conversation was about something other than exams.

'How are you feeling about the exams Em?' asked Angelina. Emalia shrugged but Alicia answered for her 'Why are you asking her how she feels about the exams Angelina? Em is a walking brainbox, if she does pass these exams there is no hope for any of us.' The rest of the group laughed and continued their studies.

The exams were easier than Emalia expected, even Alicia seemed happy with her potions exam. They celebrated being finished by going down to the lake. When they got there the Giant Squid was basking in the sun in the shallow of the lake.

Fred, George and Lee had taken to tickling the tentacles of the Squid as the girls sat laughing watching them. Every so often Emalia would use her wand to splash water on the three boys, who initially blamed the Giant Squid until Fred caught her.

He ran towards her and started pulling her down to the water, she shrieked a huge smile on her face as he held her as George splashed water at the two of them. 'Ok, Ok! I'm sorry!' she exclaimed, her hair was sticking to her face, her eyes shining with amusement. Fred let go of her and kissed her cheek before turning his attention back to the Squid.

A couple of days later, Emalia woke up to Professor McGonagall gently shaking her awake. 'Miss Potter, if you could follow me to the Hospital Wing please.' Emalia nodded, still half asleep she put on her slippers and dressing gown. The rest of dormitory were sleeping.

When they had left Gryffindor Tower, Emalia asked 'Why are we going to the Hospital Wing, Professor?' Professor McGonagall hesitated slightly before responding 'Professor Dumbledore will explain all when we get there.' Emalia looked at her curiously but did not question any further.

When they arrived in the Hospital Wing, Emalia saw Albus; but she also saw Ron and Hermione sitting on a hospital bed. Albus looked at her, but she looked beyond him. Something else had caught her eye. Behind him was Harry, lying in a hospital bed unconscious.

Emalia ran over to him and took his hand. She looked at Albus and asked 'Is he ok? What happened Albus?' Albus looked at her and began to fill her in with what had happened. Ron and Hermione too filled her in on some of the details. Emalia sat back in her chair in a daze, trying to process the information she had been given.

'So, Professor Quirrell had Voldemort living on the back of his head?' she whispered, looking to Albus for confirmation, who nodded gently. Ron, Madam Pomfrey and Professor McGonagall had all flinced when Emalia mentioned Voldemort's name.

'Will he wake soon?' she continued. Albus looked at Harry's face, studying it. 'I believe Emalia, he will wake after a few days. The events that unfolded last night will have drained him.'

'Exactly, so if you don't mind Headmaster, I would everyone to leave so the poor boy can get some rest.' Said Madam Pomfrey. 'Of course Poppy' he replied 'Come Emalia, Professor McGonagall.' Emalia followed them out, casting one more look back at Harry. Albus put his hand on her shoulder 'He will be fine Emalia' he said gently.

When Emalia got back up to the Common Room, she noticed that her friends were already awake and dressed. 'Where have you been?' asked Fred worriedly 'Alicia and Angelina said they woke up and you were gone.' Emalia sat down beside him 'I was at the Hospital Wing' she responded. Fred took her hand and gripped it. 'I am ok Fred' she smiled at him.

'Why are you all up?' she asked curiously. They all looked at her as if she had lost her mind. 'We are playing Ravenclaw later. Quidditch remember?' said Alicia.

'Yeah we are just waiting on Harry' said Angelina 'Oliver just went to get him.'

Emalia's eyes went wide. 'He's in the Hospital Wing' she whispered.

'HE'S WHERE?' shouted Oliver, the colour had drained from his face. 'I'm going to McGonagall' and he stormed out of the Common Room. Fred sighed as he got to his feet 'We better go have breakfast.' Everyone followed suit, Emalia however stayed put 'I'll see you all down there, I have to get changed.' They nodded and left.

Twenty minutes later, Emalia had just walked into the Great Hall when she was accosted by Roger. She groaned and cursed under her breath. 'Yes Roger?' she asked not bothering to hide the irritation in her voice. Roger smiled at her 'Hey Emalia, how about you give me a kiss for luck?' he asked as he pursed his lips.

'How about I don't give you a black eye?' she said as she walked off. Fred and George were walking up to her as Roger left the Hall laughing.

'What was that about?' asked Fred through gritted teeth. Emalia sat down and took a sip of her pumpkin juice as a bowl of porridge appeared in front of her. 'Nothing, just leave it.'

At eleven o'clock the whole school were sitting in the stands to watch the final match of the year. If Gryffindor won, they would win the Cup. If they lost, Slytherin would take it once again. It soon became apparent that Harry was not going to be playing, with one of the reserve chasers stepping in as seeker.

Twenty-five minutes later and the game was finally over. Ravenclaw had beaten Gryffindor, with Gryffindor suffering their worst defeat in years. The only consolation Emalia and Fred got from the match was that ten minutes into the game, Fred hit a bludger so hard at Roger that it knocked him out and he had to be taken to the Hospital Wing.

After the game Emalia went to visit Harry with Fred and George. She had brought him a giant box of chocolate frogs. Fred and George on the other hand had tried to bring a toilet seat. 'I thought that was for your sister?' she asked laughing. 'Oh, don't worry Em, we have one in our trunk for Ginny' murmured Fred as they walked into the Hospital Wing.

As soon as they did, Madam Pomfrey descended and took the toilet seat off them 'It is completely unhygienic' she exclaimed crossly. Fred and George looked a little disgruntled, Emalia could not help but laugh 'Did you honestly think she was going to let you bring a toilet seat into the Hospital Wing?'

The end-of-year feast came, and everyone was in fairly low spirits when the saw the Great Hall covered in green and silver once again. Harry arrived and sat in between Ron and Hermione. Emalia had insisted that her and Fred sit opposite them. 'How are you?' she asked leaning over the table. 'Better' said Harry smiling.

Dumbledore began his end-of-year speech as expected, but what happened next was not expected in the slightest. Dumbledore had awarded last minute points to Ron, Hermione, Harry and Neville, which meant that Gryffindor had officially overtaken Slytherin and had won the House Cup.

The noise that erupt from the Gryffindor table was almost deafening. Every student was on their feet hollering and cheering. Neville had disappeared under a pile of people hugging him. 'Which means,' Dumbledore called over the storm of applause, for even Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were celebrating the downfall of Slytherin, 'we need a change of decoration.'

He clapped his hands and in an instant, the green and silver hangings became scarlet and gold; the huge Slytherin serpent vanished and was replaced with the Gryffindor lion. It was a night that all Gryffindors would remember.

Exam results came and all the third years were delighted to find out they had passed. Unsurprisingly Emalia had come top of the year, which Fred teased her about in front of everyone, but once they were alone, he kissed her and told her how proud he was of her.

Emalia had asked Albus if she could return home on the Hogwarts Express with her friends, and he instantly agreed much to her delight. Emalia and her friends all piled into one carriage, laughing and sharing sweets the whole train journey home.

When they disembarked at Platform 9 and 3/4s, Fred pulled Emalia aside and kissed her. They stood there standing, hidden from the view of Mrs Weasley and their friends. 'Come on, we must get home' began Mrs Weasley 'Where is Fred? Ron go look for him' Ron found them and then ran back to the rest of the Weasleys.

'Found him Mum, he's off snogging Emalia' he said as he ran back over to Hermione and Harry.

Fred groaned 'I'm going to kill him.' Emalia laughed, she took his hand and pulled him towards his family 'Come on, or else she will come looking for you herself.'

The two of them walked over to the rest of the Weasleys, still holding hands. Mrs Weasley noticed this and pursed her lips together trying not to smile. 'Hello, Emalia, dear, how are you?' she asked cheerfully. Emalia smiled brightly 'Hello Mrs Weasley, I am great. How are you?'

'Oh, just trying to round this lot up and bring them home. Is Albus coming to meet you?'

Emalia nodded as Ginny ran over to hug her. Emalia laughed and embraced her back.

They all walked through the barrier; Harry came face to face with the Dursleys. Emalia walked over and introduced herself and received a rather frosty handshake and nod in return. She turned to Harry, her eyebrow raised questioningly and pulled him into a hug. 'If you need anything at all, write to me' she whispered to him. Harry nodded and grinned at her.

'Mum?' called George 'Can Emalia come to visit over the summer?' Mrs Weasley turned to face her son 'Of course George, what a silly question' she replied.

'Even if she's Fred's girlfriend?' asked Ron curiously. Fred turned and punched his youngest brother in the arm. 'Ouch!'

Emalia on the other hand turned bright red. Mrs Weasley smiled at her 'Of course, you are always welcome Emalia.' Her face was still red, but not as bright as it was when Mrs Weasley pulled her into a hug.

Emalia said her goodbyes and turned to walk back through the barrier. When she arrived back on the platform, Albus was there waiting for her. 'All set?' he asked as he extended her arm to her. She nodded as she took it, and they both disappeared from the platform and arrived back home.
