Epilogue
Team 7 was freaking out. Actually, freaking out was a major understatement. They were feeling more freaked out than they were at their Sensei and Akira's wedding when they learned that Kakashi had in fact not told Akira that they were getting married and just dragged her to the ceremony. The couple had of course arriving an hour later than they were supposed to. They witnessed Kakashi announcing to the confused girl that they were getting married, though evidently it hadn't been as much of a surprise as everyone had thought, seeing as Akira went along with it. Or it might just be the fact that Kira-nee-chan was a bit crazy. At least that was what Sasuke insisted when Akira wasn't around. Naruto would usually at this point argue that Akira-nee-chan wasn't crazy, she was just the ever-awesome Nakamaru Akira. Which was when Sakura would interrupt and state that the ever-awesome Hatake Akira was in fact a bit crazy. Regardless of Akira's state of mind, and the strange wedding between her and Kakashi-Sensei, the confusion and slight terror felt on that day, in particular by Sasuke and Naruto – both of whom had no desire to ever see the person they considered a sister marrying anyone – it was nothing compared to the later events. It all started about a half a year after their wedding when Kakashi arrived late for a mission. Now obviously, this was not a strange occurrence at all. No, the strange thing was his excuse.
"You're late!" the seventeen years old Naruto and Sakura screamed at their sensei in perfect synchronisation as Sasuke threw a kunai at the older man. Kakashi gracefully dodged and smiled that annoying eye-smile of his.
"Sorry, sorry! My wife just told me she was pregnant, so I had to celebrate with some sake. But then my Kira-chan kindly reminded me that she could not drink sake, so I had to go out and by ice-cream to her." Kakashi told the three Chunins in the exact same tone he always used when coming up with an excuse.
"LIA-…" Naruto started shouting only to gasp. "Wait, Akira-nee-chan is pregnant?"
"You knocked up my Kira-nee-chan?" Sasuke hissed out in shock at the same time. "Wait till I tell Itachi-nii-san, sensei, then you'll be dead."
"OH MY KAMI CONGRATULATION!" Sakura squealed out and forced all three males of the Team into a group hug.
Now Team 7 had obviously freaked out back then as well, but Naruto and Sakura quickly got over the shock and moved on to being happy for the couple and child-to-be. Hell, even Sasuke got happy – after he teamed up with Itachi to take down Kakashi that is – and was excitedly waiting for his future niece or nephew. Seven months later Hatake Shisui and Hatake Sakumo were born. The twin boys were identical and looked like a perfect mix between their parents. Both had their father's hair and face shape, combined with their mother's eyes, nose and lips. Akira had given them the nicknames Vanilla and Chocolate after the intense cravings during the pregnancy and Kakashi had started calling them his little pups. Itachi had been named Shisui's godfather and Kamiko had been named Sakumo's godmother. All seemed well and normal. Akira had been fine and able to continue her job as Hokage surprisingly quickly after the birth and Team 7 had just accepted that the twins was a new part of their normal life.
When Kakashi came with the exact same excuse two years later, Team 7 pretty much just congratulated him and moved on with their lives normally. After all, Hokage Akira would probably paint them green if they dared be late to receive their missions. With Team 7 now consisting of only Jonins, they were in high demand, especially since they played a huge roll in ending the Fourth Shinobi war. Not that Akira cared about that. She still referred to them as her minions, and still treated them as younger siblings. Though the years passed, Team 7 concluded that Akira and Kakashi-Sensei didn't really change much. Not even when proclaiming them the godparents of little Hatake Emiko.
"You want us to what?" Naruto asked his Akira-nee-chan in shock.
"I want you three to be Emiko's godparents. You're my minions, so I really can't think of anyone else more suited to this!" Akira stated warmly while looking at Team 7.
"What she really means is that we've already made Itachi and Kamiko godparents, and we figured that maybe the three of you combined will measure up to half an Itachi or half a Kamiko." Kakashi smiled his usual eye-smile, knowing fully well that he had just earned a lot of yelling from all of his cute little students.
Obviously, they had been so happy that at least Akira wanted them to be Emiko's godparents. Emiko herself was a little angel. Well, at least she looked that way. She looked so much like her mother that the trio often speculated that Kakashi had no part in creating the girl, though after saying that to Kakashi and getting a 10 minutes talk about exactly how Emiko was created, they decided to never mention it again. Regardless, Team 7 loved all three Hatake kids and had often visited the house to play with them. Which lead to their current situation. With Shisui and Sakumo being 5 and Emiko being 3, Team 7 had figured they would be able to watch over them. After all, they had helped save the world, how hard could it be to watch 3 children while their parents and other two godparents were working?
Apparently, very hard. It was that day they learned that Emiko did not just look like her mother, she was just as mischievous as Akira as well. Combining that with the twins who – much like their father- loved to annoy people by causing chaos – you got yourself a very hard mission. Still, they felt like they did a good job. Sure, there was food; curtesy of Emiko, thrown all over the place, toys littering all over the floor – curtesy of all the kids – and furniture located at completely wrong places. But still, at least they had control over all three of the kids.
"Fuck where did the twins go?" Sasuke suddenly asked as they had finally managed to place Emiko in her crib. It had been a very messy war, but they had done it. Only to discover that in the process, they had lost the twins.
"Fuck! Akira-nee-chan is going to kill us!" Naruto groaned in frustration as all three of them quickly ran out of Emiko's room to look for the twins.
After ten minutes of searching to no wail, Naruto finally realized that he could have used his Kyubi-mode to sense them. Sakura hit Naruto on the back of his head for not thinking of it sooner, while Sasuke merely hn-ed out his frustration.
"Eh, guys?" Naruto suddenly looked paler, which was rather surprising considering that the Kyubi-mode turned him yellow. "Emiko isn't in the house anymore either."
"FUCK!" Surprisingly it was both Sakura and Sasuke who swore.
"Can you sense them?" Sakura asked, trying to calm down. Naruto closed his eyes and focused for a few seconds, only to widen them in fear.
"Shit they're headed for the Hokage Tower!" Naruto yelled and took off running, his teammates following quickly.
Team 7 jumped into the Hokage Tower and scanned it for Akira and the kids. They found no kids, but saw Akira watching them with a raised eyebrow.
"Minions, whatever are you three doing here?" Akira asked them and got up from her chair. Even with her heels, she was still 5 centimetres shorter than Sakura, but the trio took a step back in fear regardless. "It wouldn't happen to have something to do with Strawberry, Vanilla and Chocolate would it? My poor little angels came here all alone."
"Fuck…" Sakura muttered and took another step back. "We're sorry!"
"Nee-chan, please! They're too much for us!" Naruto begged and dropped down on his knees. Sasuke and Sakura quickly followed him. "We fought bravely!"
Akira tilted her head slightly and observed the team.
"Well… I guess we can't all be as amazing as the ever-awesome Hatake Akira." She shrugged and turned around, calmly sitting down by her desk again. "I hear Tora got away again. You three can surely handle her for the rest of the month, right?"
"Of course, Kira-nee-chan…" Sasuke agreed on behalf of the team quickly.
"Ah, yes then there was the matter of the… mess around my house. Really, Naru-chan, a future Hokage should be able to handle three kids…" Akira smiled sweetly at the trio. "I expect it all to be spotless by the time I return home."
"Naturally, Akira-sensei." Sakura nodded her head quickly.
"And I believe I'm forgetting something?" Akira asked herself loudly, still smiling the disturbingly sweet smile of hers. "Ah, of course. You might want to shower after the day. It appears my lovely Ice-Creams have played a bit more than what they're allowed to."
As if on cue, three giggles were heard from under the desk.
Team 7 didn't need to look in the mirror to know that they were likely covered in food and feathers from ruined pillows. Team 7 left the office with their shoulders sagging low. Yup, this was definitely the day in their lives where they freaked out the most.
"We just proved Sensei right, didn't we?" Sakura sighed sadly. "Neither Itachi-san nor Kamiko-san has ever had any problems babysitting…"
"I think we need to up our training again." Sasuke shook his head in disappointment. "Kira-nee-chan will probably make us babysit to see how we improve later."
"Think we can get Kamiko and Itachi to help us?" Naruto wondered out loud.
"It's worth a shot, I suppose." Sasuke shrugged.
AN:
Guys, I'm actually done! Whew that took a lot of time and work! Still, with this being my first work, I think I did okay. I'm just so happy that I managed to finish the entire book. Now the epilogue was written from Team 7 pov mainly because I felt like it would be more fun for me. I found it rather fitting to start the story with 5-year-old Akira losing her mother and in a way her childhood and end it with Team 7, which consist of people Akira helped who also had a somewhat bad childhood, and with them taking care, or at least trying to take care, of Akira and Kakashi's kids. Especially since Akira and Kakashi played such and important adult role in their lives.
Anyways, I hoped you guys like reading Akira's story! Thank you so much to each and every one of you who opened the story and started reading. As of today, I have 27 reviews which is more than I expected. So, thank you to each and every one who took the time to write a review!
I sincerely hoped you have enjoyed reading my story!
